A bullet takes out his rig, but a mechanic captures his heart…

When Jackson is forced to pull his rig to the side of the road as the radiator overheats, he’s not impressed, but when a bouncy mechanic in camo drives back to help him, he’s even less enthralled – with himself. She’s smart, capable, single and knows a whole lot more about mechanical things than he does.

But when he hears that it’s a bullet that’s brought his rig to a stop, he knows exactly what to do – save the woman at his side and find the men who did this.

Deli was sent to assist Jackson and his sidelined rig. Only to find they are caught up in a double cross that has bullets flying and bodies dropping… some of them very close to her.

If only it was that simple… as the bodies start to fall, and their passion starts to heat up… who will be the final casualties in take the last shot in the final act?

I could NOT put this down!
I cannot imagine how people with full-time jobs can bear to stop reading this book for several hours to go to work. A retiree, I started SEALs of Honor - Jackson as soon as it arrived, read until I reached the halfway mark, slept a few hours and then finished the book the next day. Amazing! Jackson and Deli are great individually and spectacular as a team. The plot twists and turns, keeping me riveted to each page. I just HAD to know the who and why behind the shooting of the truck Jackson was driving back to the base after a big training exercise. It wasn’t his rig, so was he the target? His reaction to Dahlia Montgomery (a/k/a Deli), the diminutive mechanic sent to find him when he dropped back from the convoy, was amusing. She was clearly more knowledgeable about heavy machinery than he, finding the bullet hole in the radiator; and his respect for her overcame the blow to his manly pride. Suddenly, gunfire from a truck speeding toward them took out the windshield of the rig and sent them scrambling. Who/what was the target of the attack? Was it Jackson? Deli? Or was it the rig's originally-assigned driver or its contents? The rollercoaster ride never stopped as people of interest were murdered and new possibilities had to be discovered.

Many of my favorite parts of the book were the brainstorming sessions between Deli and Jackson - like watching team sports. I also loved the lack of predictable format – where misunderstandings create the frustrating “man meets woman, they blame each other for a minor setback, and they pull apart. Then it’s only through one of them being in danger that the other comes to the rescue, enabling the case to be solved, and saves the day.” Jackson and Deli are intelligent and rational, respectful and considerate of each other’s ideas. A great team. LOVED this!

I was kindly provided this book as an ARC; in exchange for my honest review. This is book 19 in the SEALs Of Honor series. This book revolves around Jackson a recent transfer to Mason’s SEAL team and Dahlia (goes by Deli) a Navy heavy equipment mechanic. (Which I thought is awesome since she’s a tiny 5’2”).

The story opens with Jackson having volunteered to drive a transport vehicle after the original driver “accidentally” shoots himself in the foot. Jackson makes a quick pit stop for a washroom and drink; when he realizes he lagging behind the rest of the transport team. Jackson’s vehicle is overheating, so Navy mechanic Dahlia (Deli) reroutes to check on him. Upon inspection Deli discovers Jackson’s vehicle has a bullet through the radiator..

This book was very different in pace and structure from the previous books in the series. Not saying it’s a bad thing, but it had much more of a “who-done-it, type of mystery” than a military/romance story. Ms. Dale has written several murder/mystery books lately. So maybe she’s still in the groove!) 🙃

Mason is only briefly “on-scene” and then only phone contact. Only other SEAL team member (who I cannot recall for the life of me) appearing in the story is Kannen. Kannen seems to be the new techno guy (like our beloved Swede). (Seems Kannen’s story will be noon 20).

The heat level of the story is low, and was somewhat believable (at least he’s not proposing after one week....) my feeling is maybe the series has hit its end and is becoming ho-hum. I didn’t get super excited by this one, but it’s not the best Ms. Dale has offered. I’d still give it a good 3 1/4- 3 1/2 stars; but, since the “system “ requires full votes, I’m giving a full 4 stars, since Ms. Dale’s body of work is so strong and I’ve enjoyed. Glass half-full and all that..

This is Book 19 in Dale Mayer’s SEALs of Honor series. This series is an action-filled thriller with lots of thrills and double-dealing criminals. The complex plot will fascinate the reader from the first chapter to the very end when we finally find out who did it and why.

The characters are all three-dimensional, realistic and very contemporary. Deli is a smart, independent Navy mechanic who has earned the respect of everyone she has ever met. Jackson is a SEAL who treats Deli as an equal. He respects her knowledge and her ability to defending herself while working with him to find out what is going on.

The mystery begins in the first chapter. Jackson is driving a rig in a caravan when his radiator overheats. Deli is in the same caravan, so she is sent to help Jackson get back on the road. Unfortunately, she discovers that a bullet has hit the radiator.

While Deli and Jackson are checking it out, a rogue truck passes them. They bombard Deli and Jackson with bullets as they pass. Even though no one is hurt, they are both upset and baffled.

Thus begins the intrigue. Even though, the investigating MPs ignore Deli and Jackson when they offer to work with them, they decide that they have to find out what is going on.

It doesn’t help that Deli has been receiving threatening phone calls. The final straw happens when Deli comes home and finds that her apartment has been torn apart and ransacked.

No one is sure if all of these “accidents” are tied together, or if they are actually separate incidents that coincidentally happen to occur at the same time.

Whatever the answer is, the reader will enjoy the complex twists and turns as Jackson and Deli investigate on their own.

Okay so I'm going to be out of order here, because I was fortunate to get an ARC of this book. I had just started this series and I have reviewed the first two already. I've fallen in love with these guys, and the whole Keeper thing is hysterical, well for the guys not involved at the time anyway.

Like most of this team, Jackson isn't actively looking for a girlfriend, the guys who have found their 'Keeper' have set the bar high. The ones who aren't attached want women with all those same traits. Smart, loyal, and brave are just a few.

When Jackson Pearson's convoy truck dies as he is trying to rejoin the group he meets someone and finds himself and her in a precarious situation.

When Dahlia 'Deli' Montgomery, one of the top mechanics backtracks to aid Jackson, she finds there is a bullet hole in the radiator. Before the tow truck can arrive a pickup drives by pelting the truck but fortunately not them with bullets.

This is a situation nobody likes, everyone is military and stationed at the same place, which means it's someone attached to the base. Nobody likes a traitor, and this convoy was returning from testing some very confidential weapons.

I really liked that Deli is in the military and is more than a match for Jackson. The dynamic between these two is fun and intense. His Alpha protection instincts definite run into resistance with her.

Lots of tense situations, action packed suspense and plenty of heat combine with some fun and heat as Jackson finds his 'Keeper'.

Despite being a part of a series, Jackson is, by all means, a pleasant, enjoyable, stand alone action novel, with vivid characters and an intriguing plot.
Jackson’s character is quite different from your stereotypical alpha, super skilled, self assured SEAL’s persona. He is a down to earth guy, who does not boast and sometimes makes mistakes, all the while remaining fully conscious of his abilities, enticing respect in those surrounding him.
He is very well mannered, remaining a gentleman, and a good, caring and generous individual.
Dahlia (Deli), the heroine, is a witty and skilful woman. She has an unusual job at which she excels. As the story progresses, she reveals herself as being extremely bright, taking the lead on the investigation with her intelligent deductions and pointed remarks.
The other members of the cast of characters of the SEAL’s of Honor Saga surround Dali and Jackson, but make only minor appearances, leaving the full stage to the two protagonists .
A team member that stands out is Kaden, the main character of the next episode, who constantly entices curiosity and expectation in the affectionate readers of the series.
Overall, Jackson is a pleasant and very enjoyable read, being different enough from the other episodes to remain fresh and interesting while inheriting the best of the group dynamics and the spirit of the other books in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Opinions and comments are solely my own.

What seems like a random breakdown, suddenly takes on a whole new meaning when a bullet is found…

When all it seems is a mechanical failure, a little over heating, on a routine training exercise, Jackson and (pocket, rocket) mechanic, Deli find someone has shot your truck… and has come back to take you out in a drive by shootout . The day has only just started when a number of incidents start to collide. Already Deli is turning Jackson’s world upside down. It opens a world of intriguing questions, more of the same questions, before the puzzling, disturbing answers fit together. All the while, someone wants to erase all the evidence of their actions.

Dale has written an amazing, easy to read story, filled with plenty of drama and suspenseful moments and lots of mind boggling questions that need answers. I loved the dynamic between Jackson and Deli. She’s no pushover and provides interesting theories into their investigation, even when her own live is out of control with a stalker. There’s plenty of dramatic action through out their story.

If you love page-turning romantic suspense and love solving a mystery - Dale Mayer delivers with JACKSON. A well written story, highly recommended for those that love not only a military based hero but love solving the unwanted drama that is unraveling. You’ll also get a quick sneak peek into Kanen’s upcoming adventures…

SEALs of Honor- Jackson

This was another great addition to the SEAL of Honor series with Jackson one of Mason's men keeping his streak alive as he finds the love of his life in a most unusual way. He was asked to drive one of the military convoy vehicles after a training exercise was concluded and the equipment was loaded and sent back where it came from. As he was driving it back to the base he stopped to get a drink and started up again and the truck broke down. A military mechanic, Deli stopped to help him and they discovered the radiator had a bullet hole in it. As they were waiting for it to get towed a truck drive by shooting at them but they managed to jump behind the military truck. The next truck in the convoy started to chase after the fleeing truck. The shooter's truck started to fire at this military truck and they crashed. Deli and Jackson pulled them from the wreckage saving their lives until the EMTs arrived and took them to the hospital. This was the beginning of a suspenseful and deadly plot that Deli and Jackson worked together with Kanen, another Mason man, the police and the military police to take down before more bodies started to fall. In the meantime Jackson and Deli actually fell in love in the end which was surprising to even them. This keeps Mason's love streak alive. I cannot wait to read the next book in this amazing series.

Jackson’s rig is dead on the side of the road and Dahlia (Deli) comes to help except someone wants more than just a dead rig. As Jackson and Deli dig deeper into finding out what’s going on and who’s behind it all, they are confronted by a stalker, intruders, dead bodies and a mystery that just keeps creating more questions than answers.

If you like to read suspense with a touch of romance, this is definitely a must read! It’s full of intrigue and suspense with a slow growing love that culminates in a night of steamy passion. As Jackson and Deli delve into the mystery surrounding the attempt on their lives, they also build on their mutual feelings of respect and attraction.

This is a real page turner! It grabs you from the very beginning and keeps you on the edge of your seat while you, too, try to figure out what’s going on. The characters are appealing and engaging, and the storyline is gripping and interesting. Although this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone, but the series’ characters are integrated throughout, which adds to the enjoyment if you have read the previous stories. Fair warning, the epilogue will leave you eager for the next in the series. I highly recommend this very enjoyable and entertaining romantic suspense.

When a bullet takes out the rig that Jackson is driving he never expected a short beauty to be the mechanic that comes to his ai.He doesn't expect someone to start shooting at them as they wait for a tow truck. She a strong, sassy woman that makes Jackson take notice after just a few words. This is an action packed suspense filled romance story. Will Jackson be the next in line to get a keeper? She's not looking for a relationship or a man when Jackson enters her life but she can't deny the chemistry between them.As the body count raises and there danger around every corner Jackson and Deli team up to find out who is killing off men left and right. Also Jackson knows that Delis life can be in danger and they will have to go through him to get to her.The twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page and leave you begging for more.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes and you feel like you know them personally.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.this is another great story in the Seals of Honor group of Seals.

Jackson is driving back to base when he has to pull over as his radiator overheats - the following events will become a murder mystery with the amazing side effect that he will meet his soul mate. He is sent an army mechanic from the convoy who is smart and very capable - she finds the radiator has been shot with a bullet which then triggers a chain of events that involves more bullets flying (some close to them both too) and bodies dropping. Can they stay alive while passion builds between them and find out who is behind all of this before they become victims themselves?

I loved this story which can be read stand alone even though it is part of a series. There was lots of drama, excitement and build up as they worked through the mystery and also realised that they were meant for each other. Jackson and Deli made a cute couple that worked so well together. Their skills seemed to complement each other as did their personalities. If you like romances involving a SEAL finding his soul mate this one is definitely for you.

Jackson by Dale Mayer
SEALs of Honor Series Book Eighteen
Jackson Pearson was just driving back from a training session. He had time off and offered to drive one of the rigs. It broke down on the way back and everything went downhill from that. Well, maybe not meeting the tiny tornado who stopped to help him.

Dahlia “Deli” Montgomery loved being a mechanic. For now, it was working in the navy garage at Coronado. She went through all the training like everyone in the military, but her choice was a wrench over a gun. Fighting an engine...not an enemy.

People are getting hurt and dying around Jackson and Deli, and he's afraid they may be next on the hit list. Besides his SEAL brothers, he's not sure who the friendlies are or who are enemies. Definitely a puzzle that needs solving and fast! Another fast action story, not to mention the continuing...she's a keeper...theme that started with Mason.

Fantastic!

I absolutely loved this latest book in the SEALS of Honor Series! I was immediately sucked in when Deli comes to Jackson’s “rescue”! At that point there was no putting this book down until I finished it!

I love the inclusion of a female mechanic, especially in the military. Be all you can be lady!
I enjoy the connections this story has with Mason and his team and the natural camaraderie between Jackson and Deli when they start putting pieces of the puzzle together and chasing down leads. When bodies start showing up, Jackson becomes very protective of petite and fearless Deli and it’s for good reason! Someone is trying to kill her!

I enjoy the ebb and flow of this story and the way this author gives you just a little tidbit of information to lure you along and satisfy your immediate curiosity and then it goes back to being intense!

This is a great story that keeps you guessing all the way to the end. Great ending, by the way!
Excellent job! I loved it!

What started out as Jackson's rig having a hole shot through the radiator lead the group on a not so merry chase. Uncovering dead bodies and injured men. But why? What was in those boxes removed from the truck as it sat in the garage on base?

As Jackson and Deli try to figure out what is going on and who is doing it, they begin to realize they too are in danger but every lead they follow takes them to a basic dead end.

This book has action on every page with lots of twists and turns making you think the mystery is never going to be solved. I know it kept me guessing up to the very end.

There is not really any visible sparks between Jackson and Deli but they are definitely there. Simmering just below the surface until they do find themselves in danger and when it's over they realize they did not want to be without the other.

I always love when the book got me always guessing and trying to solve the mystery and this book definitely it. I love it a lot and let's not forget those twists and surprises. I can't stop from the first page. It's a fast-paced suspense read mixed with a bit sweetness.
A naive cute mechanic and rebellion marine hero (man in the uniform is my weakness), getting tangled in an ambushed towards military and since then everything is a race to be one step ahead from the cuprit to prevent it from attacking another people. Oh yeah this is totally my kind of story.
This book has everything that hooked me from beginning, loveable characters, great mysteries, lots of actions, and fun sweet banter.
Definitely a MUST-READ for suspense lovers.

Dahlia takes the cake in this one. She is 5'2 a mechanic, compassionate, funny and intelligent.
That being said you know Jackson has to be awesome to handle the spitfire. This was not only suspense and some hot romance, there was intrigue, mystery. Each time you thought you knew there was a twist. That just makes it rock for me. I enjoy going on the journey with the character, learning as they do, or yelling at them something is off, figure it out :) (like you do in the movies)
Dale Mayer is one of the authors I am always requesting an arc of. She writes different genres, basically something for everyone. If this one isn't your cup of tea, and I don't see why it wouldn't be, check out her psychic series or her new cozy mysteries. I requested this arc and all opinions are my own and were unsolicited.

What a roller coaster ride of adrenaline, action, mystery, and romance. I was captivated by the story and how the bits and pieces unfolded but still left you wondering who was at the bottom of the treachery and why.

Jackson was a strong character but not an overwhelming alpha. I liked the way he handled and respected Delilah, or Deli as she preferred to be called. When they both became involved in the attack on Jackson's military truck, they joined forces in investigating who was responsible for the attack.

The relationship that ensued between Jackson and Deli was slow, gentle and believable. I love how Mayer brings in the characters from past books and the camaraderie of the SEAL team and their ladies. It makes for more believable interactions and let's you learn more about all the characters along the way.

Jackson is driving a rig when it suddenly overheats. He is part of a convey coming back from a training mission and when his rig dies on the side of the road a spitfire named Deli comes to see if she can help. She soon discovers a bullet hole is the cause of the radiator dying. One bullet hole launches and investigation and Deli and Jackson are in the thick of it. Bodies start pilling up and Jackson and Deli need to figure it out before they are next.

Deli is one badass mechanic with a lot of sass. She is a fun character with grit and determination. Jackson is an alpha SEAL who wants to protect her when the bullets fly. Jackson is big and strong and has connections that will help solve this case.

This was a fun, fast read that had a lot of action. I want to be like Deli! I will be sad to see this series end. I look forward to the next one.

When Deli, a navy mechanic, offers to help Jackson with his broken down military rig, Deli and Jackson don't expect to be shot at by someone in a pickup truck. Deli is also being harassed by a stalker. As they unwind the clues, they end up with many more questions and some dead ends. This is the beginning of a suspenseful mystery mixed with a little romance. I received a free copy of this book from the author through Booksprout. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. Deli is a likable, feisty, and sharp woman. Deli is as good as Jackson and his teammate Kanen in figuring out who's behind the shootings. This is a good well written mystery that kept me guessing until the end. This book can be enjoyed as a standalone. I recommend this book and this series.

Jackson needs some coffee and some water. He makes a quick pit stop and zips out to join the rest of the convoy headed back to camp when all of a sudden, he isn't going anywhere. Imagine his surprised while looking under the hood of the truck when a petite little lady ask if she can help him.. The fireworks start when someone starts shooting at them and tearing off down the road. Of course Jackson isn't going to let the little lady get to far from him. He wants to make sure she isn't in any danger. This is another great book in the series.
I do not leave spoilers so you will have to read the rest to see what happened.

The action never stops in this thrilling romance!

Deli stops to help Jackson when the truck he's driving breaks down, and finding the bullet hole through the radiator is just the start of the action. Uncovering the conspiracy while staying one step ahead of the killers is keeping these two on the move, making for an exciting suspense story with a side helping of steamy romance.

The body count is increasing, everyone's a suspect, and Jackson and Deli barely have a moment to catch their breaths. This book was a non-stop, unputdownable read for me. It starts out strong and just keeps building momentum right up to the nail-biting finale. I sure hope they got some time off after all that! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

You know what… I think this book was better than others in the series, specially later books. This was a fast read. And though still full of action, there’s more mystery in it, which I really like. So it’s not just bang-bang kind of stuff, but also thinking stuff. The hot romance level was lower than usual in the series, yet I prefer it. It’s more relatable. Yeah, I know it’s a fiction, but it’s not a fantasy, so I was still expecting some level of make-sense.

All in all, a great addition to the series. I have to admit though, the series had been going for too long, I couldn’t keep up with who’s who so I usually don’t realise if someone made a cameo.

I was provided a complementary copy by the author / publisher through Booksprout, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.

Another keeper in the SEAL’s of Honor series and this one about Jackson and the mechanic, Deli, who comes to his aid when his truck breaks down. But there’s more to the story than just the radiator blew and now Deli seems to be in the middle of all the incidents and bodies dropping around her and Jackson is the one who is by her side throughout it all, as they both try to solve who is behind it all before they are next.
A great story with a bit of steam, suspense, some action, and murder. I enjoyed these two and once again the man is yummy, the woman is fierce and no drama, no jealousies between Jackson and Deli, which I LOVE. Another page turner and keeper from this author.

I absolutely love reading this series of books. This book, with Jackson and Deli is just as awesome as all the other books in the series! I loved the story-line and loved the interaction between the characters. The fact that each of these couples goes through some harrowing experiences as a couple just goes to show you that these things can happen in real life. Love the fact that Dale incorporates other characters from this series and her other books. Keeps the story-line flowing and keeps me coming back to read more of her books! If you like suspense, romance and a book that you just cannot put down, then you will love this book!

I love SEAL romances and Dale Mayer has to be the queen of this genre because she always delivers a well-crafted story with unforgettable characters. Jackson Pearson, a SEAL who is relatively new to Mason's unit, is sidelined when a bullet takes out his rig but Dahlia "Deli" Montgomery, the best mechanic on the base, captures his heart when she comes to help out. There is lots of nail biting, edge-of-your-seat suspense and action as they work together to solve the mystery of who shot at them and why. This is a must-read for fans of this genre. I can hardly wait to read Kanen's story in book 20 of SEALs of Honor.

Jackson is a SEAL driving a truck as part of a convoy. When he stops for a bottle of water he comes out and he is behind the convoy and then his truck breaks down. Deli is a military mechanic and she is sent to help him out. She finds that his radiator has been shot out. As the two of them work together to try and find out what is going on they become close to each other. Then the bodies start dropping like flies. Eventually they find out what is going on.

I enjoyed this book very much as it was fast moving and plenty of action.

I do recommend this book to readers of military romance.

I'm not sure how Dale Mayer does it but this is another page turner which I found difficult to put down. The mystery in her books along with the warmth of romance mixed with honor and trust really are fantastic combination for a great read! Jackson in the Seals of Honor, book 19 is no exception. He meets Deli when his truck breaks down on the road and she is sent to help him. A bullet in the radiator starts the story and the search for truth is the basis for the story. When he and Deli are shot at while on the side of the road, the tale begins.
The teaser about Kanen at the end of the book is making me look forward to yet another great story!

Seal's of Honor: Jackson

OMG! This story was dramatic right from the beginning! Jackson was shot at in the first chapter as was Deli. It only got worse for these two after that. As their frustration grew so did the body count. We get caught up in their investigation with each chapter and when we think who might be the killer, we were totally shocked to find out who the players were in this chaotic situation. Finally towards the end, we finally get the answer we were waiting for. I am happy that these two finally found out they were meant to be together. I am happy that these two are working on their happily ever after. FANTASTIC job Dale! I would recommend this book.

Jackson and Deli are trying to figure out who is behind the sabotage to the military vehicle he was driving. Then things heat up as the bullets start to fly, and it's starting to look like they are being betrayed by one of their own. Witnesses aren't surviving long enough to shed any light on what's happening or why.
A really good book that will have you wondering who you can trust.
Well deserved 5 stars.
