Kim M. Clark's Deep Waters: Lift Your Gaze “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 ESV). What better time to prepare for a trial than before you are immersed in one? Since trials are a part of life—there is no escaping them and unfortunately, they don't come with expiration dates. Whether you are traversing through an intense time of suffering or are basking in the peaceful waters of a reprieve, allow this book to use the healing salve from God’s word to heal you, change your heart, and give you peace. God desires to have you run to him and drop all your burdens at his feet. He will pick up the pieces, wrap his loving arms around you, and lift your gaze. When our is focus on God, rather than our trials, we realize he is more powerful than our pain. Each faith-filled chapter includes:
“Kim M. Clark has faithfully, biblically, and practically addressed the difficult subject of suffering and trials. This book has left me lifting my gaze unto Jesus, the author, and perfecter of our faith." DR. WILBROAD CHANDA , Pastor, Christ Community Church, and Principal, Copperbelt Pastors College, Zambia, Africa "I really liked Deep Waters: Lift Your Gaze. It can be used as a workbook to work through areas of suffering. Kim M. Clark’s method of writing is so encouraging! The visuals allow me to become part of the story, and the illustrations and use of imagery were excellent. Bottom line, this is a great book !" PASTOR TRISH GUNN , Student Ministries, Trinity Community Church, Hockessin, DE Allow Deep Waters: Lift Your Gaze to lead you to the source of all comfort and rest, the author and perfecter of your faith, the Lord Jesus Christ.
This book is wonderful for both new Christians and seasoned Christians. it has biblical encouragement at both levels so that everyone is inspired and motivated to trust God more especially if they are in deep waters of life. I was edified and equipped as a Christian ministering to others and grew in my own spiritual walk with Christ.
A powerful read about trials and how to manage them, with focused questions in every chapter. I won't lie, this changed some of my perspective on what the cross means, to the point of crying during the last chapters.
Deep Waters is a book that leads you to faith and a deeper walk with God. It is especially helpful for newer believers or anyone who is going through difficult times. Encouraging and inspirational.
The author writes with a conversational prose and personal conviction, as if I were sitting across the table from her, listening to her speak, and convincing me I need to relentlessly pursue my relationship with Christ, as if my life depends upon it. And because our eternal life does depend on our relationship with Christ, and our life now, should be saturated with the love of God through every fiber of our being, if it is not, we can see an illustration of what living and active faith looks like according to the Word of a God. I respect the courage to speak out and challenge our own walk and relationship with Christ. There are too many living compromised, weak existences, missing out on the grace and glory of God’s holiness. I pray you crave this kind of presence with the Lord, because it is deep, running clear, Holy Spirit living in us, and through us, which touches the world through our authentic God-centered lives. I especially enjoyed the poems and prayers throughout the book.
