Yes Daddy is an ultra hot Daddy Dom romance featuring an older man and a younger woman. It has super steamy scenes and some bad language. It’s only recommended for readers 18+. If you like spanking, dirty talk, and dominant men, something tells me you're going to love this book!

My new boss is a total control freak.
If I want to survive, I have to learn one thing…
I better call him Daddy.

Mason Ward always gets what he wants.
Rich, handsome, charming.
I should feel lucky to get hired as his new assistant.

Except I’m the sixth girl in as many months…

That’s just the first red flag.
He loves to tease me, torture me.
He laughs as he pushes all my buttons.
He orders me to get down on my knees...

Demanding, intense, a total jerk.
I get why everyone quits on him.
He hasn’t left his building in over five years.
There’s a darkness behind his tightly controlled eyes.
It’s eating him up inside, and I can feel it every time he gets too close.

I should hate him.
I should run away.
Instead, I love obeying his every wish.
Especially when his hands end up on my body…

I’m going to answer every single one of his commands with two simple words: Yes Daddy.

Yes Daddy is a safe standalone novella with no cliffhanger, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA. Enjoy!!

Daddy dom

Not a bad daddy com story, but not one of the best either. I'll probably try another book B.B. Hamel, but maybe not one of her dark daddy romances.

One of my bookish goals for this year is to get out of my comfort zone and read more books from genres I typically don't pick up—like romance and new adult books, for example.

So there I was, fairly interested in this one. It was short, about a topic I'm up for reading, with a couple of steamy scenes. I was in the mood for it... And it failed so spectacularly it got me giggling and rolling my eyes equally.

Let me tell you, I'm kind of sorry to give it a one star, but it had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. The writing is plain, repetitive and overall terrible. The plot is nothing but a cliché with a laughable development—if what we get counts as development at all. And don't get me started with the characters...

Our male lead has been single for five years, keeping himself away from any female company. And guess what? Almost the moment he lays eyes on the female lead, he thinks she could change everything. Like, excuse me? Way to act out of character, for someone who's set on staying away from romantic relationships... Or any kind of relationship, actually.

Our female protagonist is just as bland as the male one. Well, no. She's one of a kind when it comes to being bland. She has the depth of a shallow puddle, with little to no personality. I'd be impressed if someone like her managed to survive in the real world.

And the sex scenes—those were bad. Bad, with a capital B. First of all, the Daddy kink is never explored, aside from Hazel calling him Daddy. Besides, the scenes were repetitive as hell and inspired nothing but a sense of boredom and dread for the next scene.

The main conflict was resolved in a few hours, but could've been solved in five minutes. It was that stupid and predictable. Everything in this story was.

Would I recommend this? No, not even for fans of the genre. The next quotes speak for themselves.

Repetitive sex scenes...

"I groan and grind my hips back against him. He laughs softly and lets me do the work, moving my hips back and forth along his thick cock, sliding him in and out. I grip the chair as I go, moving my ass back and forth, grinding along his cock."

"She sucks faster, stroking faster, not worried about the spit sliding along my tip. I pull her hair tight. 'Fuck, girl,' I groan. 'I'm fucking close.'

She doesn't stop. She sucks me faster, faster. It's dirty and sexy and fucking incredible. I groan as she takes me into her throat one last time, stroking me fast, eyes coming up to meet mine."

Bad writing...

"I love riding his cock with one nipple between his lips."

"He keeps pulling and loosening, fucking me in and out, my breasts pressed together between my elbows."

"At first, I think he's going to call me over, make me sit on his lip, and kiss me."

"I watch his every movement, every sound."
(I am still wondering how to watch every sound, but don't mind me.)

Softly: 64 times.
Hard: 59 times.

Great read if...you enjoy Daddy/Sir books, Office Romance, Quick Reads, and HEA.

Side Note: I had mixed feelings about this book. It was easy to read, however, very repetitive with the usage of I and certain other sexual phrases. The hero was lovable enough, typical torn up inside alpha male, and the female lead was a bit sassy but very submissive as she should be in a Daddy/Sir book. Together they were just adorable, and I LOVED their chemistry. The villain aspect is easy to see coming, but the way it was handled was pretty awesome. All in all it was definitely worth the read and had more substance than I was anticipating. It was worth the random shot I gave it!

Cute, instalove romance.
There's not really anything "dark" about this story, and the DDlg stuff is just trappings. Hazel isn't a little; she's a service submissive. Mason's a bit tortured and very dominant, and together they have great chemistry. The steamy bits are nicely steamy. I liked that the story was more than just them getting together, but the plot was very predictable and I wish the author had gotten away from the typical romance formula a bit more.

Hazel Cook is a recent college graduate with a degree in art/painting. With student loans to pay for, Hazel takes a well paying but eccentric job as a personal assistant for the elusive Mason Ward, 40. But Mason’s request for his assistant quickly becomes more and more personal.

Hazel starts out with some spunk and backbone, but by about the halfway point, after an orgasm or two, she becomes compliant and naïve. I liked her better in the beginning.

Mason has some intrigue to him. I wasn’t always sure how to take him. On one hand, his office duties are demeaning. At the same time, there are definitely hints of Mason’s troubled circumstances—he’s a bit dark and brooding, clearly struggling with personal guilt. I suppose I would call it a semi-dark romance. None the less, I would have liked to have seen both characters developed a little deeper.

I kinda felt like the ‘daddy’ thing was just thrown in there to check a few more kink boxes, but I suppose there could be some underlying psychological component to it. I’m not sure if readers are supposed to read into that or not. Again more development would have helped here.

Told via Hazel and Mason’s dual alternating first person POV, there’s an obvious villain who creates a brief conflict, but otherwise it’s fairly low angst.

“I had no idea you were so filthy and could be so obedient.”

Hazel and Mason, were uh definitely a story for the mature type. Mason, or daddy should I say was um on the possessive cleaning type. He liked obedience and order all around his life, which scrubbing the floor to please someone is quite extreme, she did it anyways. Cause she aims to please.

And he was pleased, very pleased.

“My Daddy. My Dark Daddy.“

She was into it, into it like no one else. Literally he was like she’s like no other girl.

“I bow to him. I bow to my new master, the asshole billionaire jerkoff dickhead.“

This was hilarious, messy and hilarious. But he was so emotionless, it was draining. I felt drained for poor hazel.

If you’re looking for short sexed up weekend read, then have a go at this one. Full of hot sexual encounters, very steamy, is probably the best part about it. I like Doms, but for some reason calling someone Daddy while his dick is inside me is not a great turn on, for me, at least.

Hazel was desperate for a job so she answered an ad on Craigslist. The position listed was for a personal assistant with basic duties like getting coffee, and mail, that sort of thing. But it was the salary that really caught her eye, eighty thousand dollars a year which seemed like an awful lot for the job description. She graduated from college with an Art degree and thought she’d be painting professionally by now. The company she’ll be working for is Ward Investing but she has no idea who she’ll actually be working for. When she gets to her new job she’s greeted by Rogers, who looks like a fancy butler. Rogers tells her she’ll be Mason Ward’s assistant, he’s the head of the company and she’s told to only call him “Sir” or “Mr Ward” and to only speak when spoken to. Mason Ward is 40 years old and the CEO of Ward Investing. He’s gone through several assistants in the last few months either they quit because he’s too demanding or they’ve been fired because they’re incompetent. Mason hasn’t left his self-imposed prison in three years, he’s locked himself away from the world and runs his empire from his tower. Hazel is very attracted to Mason and is very obedient with everything he requires of her. Mason knows Hazel is different than his other assistants, she’s stronger and he finds himself wanting to see how far he can push her.

I assumed (stupid me) that this would be just another DD/lg story. How wrong I was.

Mason never leaves his house but nobody knows this but his two trusted people. He goes through assistances pretty much monthly. But that is just because he can be a di*k and demanding. But when the newest one walks through his door something different happens to him.

Hazel is in need of a job to help supplement her artist's heart. But how far is she willing to go to keep her job? Will she kneel when asked? Will she shine his shoes while he is wearing them? These are questions most don't ask themselves but Hazel will.

I enjoyed this story and would highly recommend it.

B.B. Hamel has written a hot, gritty, captivating and somewhat dark romance story featuring a dirty-talking older man and a younger woman who brings him out of the darkness. There's betrayal, super steamy scenes, unexpected surprises, love and of course, a HEA.

This is a fast-paced steamy read. Mason is a reclusive billionaire who hasn’t left his office building/home in over 5 years. Hazel is his latest assistant will she be able to demanding needs? Plenty of drama, emotion and oh so hot. I was hooked from beginning to end. Loved it!

The couple: Mason and Hazel

Romance trope: Daddy kink
Series: Dark Daddies
Length: 179 pages

Plot: Mason (or rather his man of business) has hired Hazel as his new assistant. She's young, pretty, and most importantly, obedient. She's also sassy and fun and makes Mason feel ways he hasn't in a long time. Things are progressing nicely, but not everyone is happy about that.

Commentary: Mason was weird and a little sinister but what I liked most is that he and Hazel were able to laugh with each other (and it felt authentic and fun). The "mystery" and bad guy weren't at all a twist, but that was okay because it wasn't the focus of the story. Short, not serious, weird, but a fun read.

Next book in the series: Doctor Daddy

It was Ok

The problem I had was with this plot because there really wasn’t much of one. Main character was supposed to be dark but it just appeared that he used all the women that came before the main heroine And he was their boss. However, because they didn’t “ satisfy”him sexually, he fired them??? That just seems wrong on so many levels and that didn’t really endear him to me. I realize he had a tragedy in his life But that doesn’t explain away or excuse his creepy behavior especially since he didn’t seem to have a non-disclosure agreement with any of them. Everything just seemed too out of whack and there was like sex on every single page to the point where I had to take a break from the book like five times. It became predictable and boring.
Finally, he only asked the heroine who he supposedly loved at the end to marry him only when he finds out she’s pregnant and that also turned me off. So I wasn’t really into this one.

Another sexy, dark book with great characters and story that will keep you turning pages into the night!

There is suspense, great characters and some super steaminess that's off the charts as the secretive, reclusive, older hottie businessman Mason and his new young PA, Hazel 'get to know' each other in more ways than one!

There is suspense, a sleazy villian that needs some butt kicking, a secretive 'butler' who has some extra skills and of course the 2 MCs who seem to need each other more than they expected to.

I recommend this new one by B. B. Hamel who puts together a great, sexy story that is long enough to enjoy but is quickly and easily read.

*I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest, heartfelt review of it.

This is an excellent book that I really enjoyed reading and is certainly one I would have no hesitation in recommending. The storyline was quite intriguing and the various twists and turns kept my interest throughout.

For 5-years, Mason has been a recluse, living with guilt for something that wasn’t even his fault. In all that time, Mason has never left his office, leaving Declan, an ambitious colleague, to run the day-to-day operations of his company. Hazel graduated with an art degree, but a highly-paid assistant position is too good an opportunity to pass up. Mason expects obedience and perfection above all else from his assistants, but he has been disappointed too many times in the past. But there is something about Hazel that intrigues Mason; she is not weak, her answers make him smile and her beauty keeps his attention. There is a spark, a fire, and Mason already knows there will be issues with temptation. Of all Mason’s assistants, Hazel is the first one that hasn’t wilted under his gaze. Hazel knows Mason is going to be a challenge, but there is also something about being around him that she finds intoxicating, even when he is silent and commanding. Mason even inspires Hazel’s painting. Hazel wonders how she is going to resist Mason, or if she even wants to. Mason thinks ignoring Hazel will be easy; after all she is just his faceless assistant, or is she? Hazel answers all Mason’s questions about herself, but she wants to know more about him too. Mason begins to open up to Hazel, telling her all about himself in a way he hasn’t in years. Hazel doesn’t seem judgmental or angry when Mason tells her about his past and this helps to alleviate some of the guilt he feels. Suddenly Mason is like a new man. Meanwhile, Declan is plotting behind Mason’s back; not only does he want to take Mason’s company from him, his actions make Hazel an innocent victim. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the older man/ younger woman romance between Hazel and Mason. hazel is a recent graduate from art school and is hired as a personal assistant for Mason. Mason is a billionaire who owns a huge corporation, but he never leaves his home and office. Mason has lived in the building that houses his company for the last five years and only sees his butler Rogers and one employee, Declan. When Hazel starts work, she learns there have been a number of assistants the either quit or were fired because they couldn't handle Mason's strange requests. Hazel is intrigued by Mason and wonders why he is the way he is. Mason sees something in Hazel he never thought he would find and soon he wants to dominate her in all ways. Hazel is attracted to Mason and wants to submit to him and please him. The enter into a relationship of sorts and after Mason can't fight his need for Hazel any longer. Soon Mason wants more from Hazel, he wants to be her Daddy and take care of her and protect her. Hazel learns more about Mason and begin to fall more in love with him. Mason begins to care about things again and soon learns the company he built is on the verge of being taken away from him. Mason decides it is time to take action. I really enjoyed this book and the connection between Mason and Hazel. Hazel made Mason realize how much he was missing in life and gave him a reason to life again. Mason had suffered many loses in his life and gave up. I think he needed Hazel and knew she was different. I love how they were together and how much they loved each other. Good one.

so much potential until the “drama” happened

It was a slow, delightful build up; I loved how Hazel stood up to Mason, even when she let him be in control, and how quietly supportive she was. She wasn’t written as a doormat, but rather a woman with quiet dignity and strength. She read like a much more mature character than being 22 should likely have afforded her, and that was a nice surprise. I was wholly with her, right up until chapter 21 when she turned into a total idiot for literally no da**** reason whatsoever. There was NOTHING to push the plot in that direction—yes, we knew it what was going to happen; that was telegraphed a mile away, but how it happened, how it came about, and how she acted afterward made no sense at all. There could have at least been a little argument, or a faked email, or something more deceptive under the surface from the “antagonist” to warrant her behavior or her belief in what she was being told, but it was like the writer just gave up actually writing a book at 3/4 of the way through it. It had soooooo much potential, and then poof! The story just gets lazy AF. Was there a midnight deadline to be met or something?? So disappointed in that payoff to the end, and Hazel’s ridiculous “breakdown” in particular. It made zero sense, came out of nowhere, had no catalyst; was completely beyond the scope of character created for either of the two main characters, and did I mention it made zero sense? I’m glad they got their HEA; but the drama was sooooo inane that it took what otherwise could have been a 4.5,5-star story to a 2.5,3 at most.

Hazel Cook answered an ad on Craiglist for a personal assistant. A recent art degree graduate, Hazel had plenty of student debt and the $80,000 salary was too tempting to pass up. Hours after submitting her resume and a headshot, she was invited for an interview and offered the job on the spot. Even more shocking she was working for the elusive Mason Ward, head of Ward Investing. It's immediately obvious that he's demanding, controlling, intense, and a total jerk. He's been through 6 girls in 6 months, 2 didn't make it out of the interview. But he's gorgeous and his demands not only anger Hazel, they excite her. She soon finds herself eager to obey his every demand.

Yes Daddy is a short dark fairytale. Instead of a princess locked in the tower, it's a dark prince full of guilt and regret. The Princess unlocks his soul and offers him a second chance for a HEA. The role of fairy godmother is played by the butler Rogers and the evil witch is ____ (no spoilers). Hazel and Mason have unbelievable chemistry. This author definitely knows how to make it steamy between her characters. The story is predictable but entertaining. I would have preferred for it to be an actual novel, not a novella. I felt like the characters got shortchanged a bit. The ending was rushed and Hazel's character was never given any depth outside of Mason's office. The internal business could have been more dramatic if the story was longer as well. Still, this is a perfect read for a quick escape. It would make a commute so much more enjoyable!
