Holden left the Galactic Service more machine than man. Passing his days designing security tech for those with the credits to pay, his Code is all he has left. When one of his clients misuses his tech, he sets out to put things right and collides into his only failed case. The hauntingly beautiful and seductive psi-op agent is on the run and isn’t acting anything like the woman he tracked for years, never managing to capture.
Thrown together against impossible odds, his greatest enemy is his only ally. How many lives will be lost if the two can't learn to work as one? As dangerous as she is, it quickly becomes apparent she’s even more dangerous to his heart, the one he thought he left behind with the rest of his body parts in the Galactic Service.

Not, bad. Not bad at all!
The story is intricate and the MCs interesting too. Cersei (not the one from GOT! LOL) was a fugitive, but she doesn't know from what. She doesn't know what she is and what she can do, even while doing it!
Holden, the cyborg, knows who and what she is, since he hunted her before retiring. But he doesn't know if he can belive her amnesia.
So they run circles around each other, trying to determine if they trust one another, all the while trying to outrun killers.
Slowly a huge conspiracy emerges and they're the only ones who can fight it and so the rocambolesque adventure begins where both of them display some super-human powers.
His are the augmentations he was implanted while working for the agency, hers are more of a psychic nature as a psy-mind-infulencer.
What I didn't understand is: if she was such an incredibly powerful influencer why didn't she used her powers to help them during their quest? It was never explained. They just keep fighting in a physical way with weapons and fists and kicks...
Also, there's a lot of internal musings both about if to trust the other and about how to jump each other's bones, which I don't particularely like when overdone. And here it was almost half the book.
Still it was an interesting advenure in Marvel's Super Hero's style, so 3,5 stars rounded up to 4.

Delightfully different
I'm reviewing an ARC of Cyborg by Miranda Martin (Thanks, Booksprout). This review is voluntary, independent, and uncompensated. Miranda Martin sure knows how to put a unique spin on the old "lawman falls for the criminal" trope. She moves it to outer space, in the far future. The upright and respectable lawman becomes a "Tinman" - a socially outcast half-cyborg whose honor and strength get him a "job" as a despised bounty hunter. It's all right, though; he has some serious plans for some long-overdue vigilante justice, and the bounty hunter gig is just the perfect means to an honorable if quasi-legal vengeance. He encounters our heroine - the fugitive criminal on the run while pursuing that goal. Wait, that's not quite accurate. She isn't as criminal as you might think, and she's running from the crime boss (among others), while concealing a deadly secret from the universe. Whew! The set up is brilliant, the characters are pretty well written, the plot has action, angst, and sexual tension, and if the ending is predictable from the middle of the book on, well, it's still a helluva ride to get there. I would definitely suggesting grabbing this one.

CERSEI is on the run but she doesn;t remember from whom or why. One night at work in a bar she feels within her head something is being reactivated. It;s been too long here for her and it;s time to head out. She is hyper aware of everything around her and getting paranoid too. She knows she had her mind blocked or wiped but something is trying to reactivate those memories. She;s on the run when she;s confronted but then saved by someone who calls her Athena and helps her. She leaves.Holden finds out through someone he chased why working for the unit that his tech he sold is being sent on to someone who is using it wrongly and illegally. When he sees Athena he is surprised and can't understand why she doesn;t recognize him. Later he again saves her and realizes that she has no understanding of what has gone on before. But he is in it to find the one who is illegally using his tech and now he feels drawn to Athena/Cersei that he needs to help her too. Adventure and danger go hand in hand and sometimes a little loving helps.

Totally rip-roaring read, impossible to put down until completed…
Cersei is on the run unfortunately however the reason why, from whom and who has originally tampered with her mind remains as much a mystery as ever and no matter how hard she tries to remember she simply cannot recall the details.
Once again, she is on the run she knows that her original captors are once again on her tail, Holden realises she is an psi-op agent his previous employer has misused his abilities and he found himself drawn to her beauty and mystery he also has a innate need to protect her so they go on the run together.
Together they protect each other and they are also out to discover the truth and if possible determined to ensure justice was indeed paid in whatever manner was acceptable to them both, even if it had to be by their own hand.
I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Slow Build to an Exciting Ending!
It takes a few chapters to really get into the dynamics of the story. But once the backgrounds are there, things begin to fall together quickly. Cersei can’t remember her past because she had her mind wiped. All she knows is that she needs to keep moving before her past catches up with her.
Holden, and ex-Galactic Service Agent, is now a security tech expert. One thing is his steadfast rule, never sell his tech to criminals. When he finds out one of his best systems is being used by the galaxy’s worst criminal organization, he starts the hunt for who sold it to them and to get it back. This quest quickly brings him across Cersei, known to him as Athena, a black psi-op agent, that he spent two years chasing and never caught. When he rescues her from an attack, she shows no recognition of him. He is totally confused but when it is obvious that the person he is seeking is the person after her, they decide they must work together. But can he ever trust her when he knows what her past is? And what will happen when she remembers? A wild ride filled with danger, suspense and action! Don’t miss it!

This is a rather dystopian novel with over crowding, with big brother spying on every citizen, and with artificial everything.
Athena💃💋 is a spy, a super agent, a human woman turned into a cyborg. Somewhere it all got to be an overload, and she had a very expensive mind wipe done, hoping to rid herself of all the memories she had of the people she maimed and killed. The wipe worked for a while, but then it began to fail.
She calls herself Cersei💃💋 now, but the fighting abilities, and the super speed, analytical thinking, and reactions begin to breakthrough into her new life. Then people are trying to capture her or kill🔫🔪 her!
Holden🐺🍆🌋🔫🔪, an extremely modified Cyborg, and the best spy in the world, knows Cersei💃💋 as Athena, and she seems to be getting mixed up in his latest assignment. He wants to protect her, because He is sure she doesn't know who she really is.

I usually really like Miranda's books, and I'm a huge fan of her Dragons of Tajss series, but I didn't like this one as much. To begin with, I just didn't feel the connection between the couple. It seemed like they were in lust, but their history makes me think that he wouldn't have fallen in love with her. He knows that she was a very successful, and quite evil, criminal. But he still falls in love with her? She might have fallen in love with him, since she no longer remembered her past, but she also might have just always wondered if she could really trust him.
The thing that bothered me most, though, was how confusing the story was. It wasn't until near the end until we find out who she really was (and how she got that way) before she had her memory wiped. That's when the story finally starts to make some sense, but there were still a few plot holes that were never quite filled. One big one was whether they actually succeeded in completely bringing down the organization responsible for what was done to the h and for all the evil they were fighting.

This was a wonderful mix of bad guys chasing the good guys featuring a cyborg who is an ex-Galactic Service and an extremely skilled human who is running from her past. Holden is a cyborg who is more machine than man, living by a code of honor and keeping himself disconnected from personal relationships. Cersei is an extremely skilled human who was a former something, that she cannot recall. All she knows is that she wanted to forget her past so bad that she erased her memories. They run into each other unexpectedly and as much as Holden wants to deny it, he feels a pull towards Cersei that he cannot control. Cersei knows that she went through extremes to ensure her past wouldn't come barging into her present. Allowing a connection to form with Holden becomes more and more difficult to out off. Before either has the chance to process it, they find themselves fighting powerful forces to stay alive and unravel evil destructive plans.

Wow, this book was gripping, intense and literally had me on the edge of my seat as I read it. Cersei has a past, one she has had wiped from her memory, but there are people who want power and she is the connection and they will stop at nothing to get their hands on her. Holden is an enhanced ex Galactic Service agent, a Cyborg, who now makes tech. When he finds out his tech has been used for criminal intent he is determined to stop it. When he discovers Cersei he knows her past identity as he hunted her for two years. When their pasts collide and Cersei's memories start to come back, they know that they have to work together to stop the disaster that is about to happen, but it brings with it emotions and feelings that neither of them ever though possible. Action-packed with lots of twists and turns, this book will have you hooked from the beginning, it certainly did me. I hope that we see more of this world.

Well written adventure story based on a mystery with steamy chemistry
This story starts off with quite the mystery - Cersei had a mind wipe done and feels danger closing in. But from who? This sets the tone for the book with lots of action, danger, suspense and chemistry swirling around. Holden was an interesting character and I loved his code in working with only those that are on the side of good. Those morals smack of direct conflict with what we're learning of Cersei's past and it makes for a fab adventure. That they learn to trust, and find love, in this story of overwhelming odds, is the icing for this story. The side characters add good depth and Ms. Martin did a fab job describing Xerix 5, letting me follow their run into danger. Well done!

Intense and complicated, but oh, so good! I loved how deep this story went into secret cybernetics, the whole intrigue of wondering who or what Cersei was before she was Cersei and what was her connection to Holden? Holden was another enigma that kept revolving around his tech, like was he Cersei's enemy? The was lots of suspense, a great story, and then later the love story between people who didn't know how to love? I don't know, it was crazy good though. It kept me wondering right to the end, and the fight against the evil guys isn't over yet, but it wasn't a cliffhanger, just a feeling from the story that there is more to come. It was a riveting story and you should most definitely add it to your list of books TBR.

Can Love Overcome Emotional Detachmen?
Plenty of action in the adventure and in the romance. Some of the typos are distracting, but I could figure out the intent relatively easily. Cersei and Holden have been mortal enemies (unbeknownst to Cersei). The story follows their chance encounter, a partnership based on a common enemy, and the attraction between them.
The chapters alternate between the first-person narratives of Cersei and Holden. It works well in this context.
Holden's cyborg enhancements, especially the wings, don't always make sense. Where does the weaponry disappear when the physical attraction gets into high gear.
In spite of these minor issues, the overall story was good and made for captivating reading.

A past worth forgetting...
Cersei doesn't remember her past and she's happy with that fact. Deep down she knows that there are things she did that are worth forgetting. That's why she paid to have her memories swiped. Some things remain, like the fact she knows someone is after her. When her memories start to "seep" thru, Cersei decides to run again. Run she does...straight into Holden. Holden remembers Cercei only that wasn't her name . As these two team up to take on a common enemy, they realize that they may have been "destined" for each other. Really nice read.

This is an amazing read one of the best ones I’ve read so far of Miranda’s, I’m not going to give any spoilers it’s just too good so if you want to know a bit about this story then read for Miranda’s blurb. I was blown away with this story everything is explained so you don’t have any questions there’s action, adventure, danger, suspense, passion and some sexy scenes and so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages. Miranda’s an exciting storyteller and I always enjoy her stories and there are so many to chose from I loved them all. A fantastic story a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

I read this book in one sitting, enjoying it all the way to the end. The author has written a complete story for us to enjoy and remember. The twists and turns in this book lead to the ending. The sub characters were good too. This is not the first book by this author I have read. I have given honest review for this advanced copy voluntarily.

Someone has misused his tech and he will deal with it. He then meets her again and he knows she is not the same. What is going on? See how it will all end

This is definitely a sci-fi story, it centers around 2 enhanced individuals who are more to each other than they know. There's of course, an evil organization bent on taking over by any means necessary and for the last 10 years they have secretly taken steps to accomplish this. Cersei (I got a real kick out of this) is running from her past & Holden joins her when their paths intersect.

Miranda Martin’s Cyborg is a thrilling, action packed story! She starts remembering violent events and realizes the memories are from the time she was a hired assassin, something she doesn’t want to relive. He is a retired assassin himself and once tried to kill her. They realize they have a common enemy, the organization that turned them into ruthless killers. Imagine falling in love at the same time! Lots of intrigue and spicy time. Great read.

I loved it. A fabulous blend of duty, betrayal, totally alone, friendship, honour, forgiveness of self, acceptance, finding love u feel u don't deserve, integrating past and current self and much more. Cersei is a government made assassin who pays for a mind wipe to escape her past. Holden is an agent made more cyborg than man who crossed paths with Athena really the old version of Cersei but she now doesn't recognize him. Fate keeps putting them in each other's path as they interact each for their own reasons but needing each other. Richly developed main & secondary characters with well detailed places and plot. Many interwoven plot twists that keep the story fresh and exciting and the reader cheering for Cersei and golden because they have lost so much being pawns of their government.
As they continue to fight to survive together and stop a domination plot the impossible happens and seeds of love are down and begin to grow despite both thinking it a bad idea to let feelings develop.
But fate and the ancestors will not be denied their will.
An excellent story I highly recommend u won't be disappointed.

This is a great book. Read the blurb as that explains it better than I could. No spoilers. But the characters and story mesh together so well. This is one well written, exciting, hot, emotional,intriguing, danger and so much more. I highly recommend it. I couldn't put it down. I was given a review copy from booksprout and voluntarily review it.

This book was loaded with adventure, intrigue, action, hi-tech technology and enhancements, betrayal with war and many hair raising fights. There is also a little sex and eventually, love. This was a page turner and pretty lengthy for a sci-fi book. Cersei, aka Althena and Holden are with us from the start to the very end. I can't say more as I risk telling spoilers.

I really enjoyed this book. Holden and Cersei love story had me wishing for just a little more. One thing I have found with Miranda Martin's stories is that I always hate for them to end. Her characters have such feeling between them. This author has a way of telling a love story that moves my heart.

OMG! This book has one of the happiest endings that I have ever read. I like that! And it comes with a fiesta of deadly fights, narrow escapes and a steamy love connection worthy of any thrilling sci-fi romance. Great storytelling!

Cyborg by Miranda Martin is a great book to read it has adventure, intrigue, action loads of it in this story. I am so glad I read this story, it is not my normal genre to read but I am so glad I read this. I highly recommend this story to everyone who wants a great Sci-Fi book to read.

An action packed and hot romance. She removed her own memories. She knows it was to protect herself, but could that also end her? When trouble comes looking for her she must run. She never expected a cyborg to save her. He knows who she used to be but he now wants who she is now. Lots of spy, mystery, a bad guy out to take over all and some hot romance. Perfect sci-fi action romance.

The story was well-written and it holds your attention from beginning to end. The characters are awesome, with plenty of action, adventure, and steamy sexy scenes that are hot but are not over the top. A beautiful love story that won't disappointed in any way and keep them coming.

Cersei is in a dire situation which puts Holden in a risky situation. Never a dull moment with this sci-fi adventure. They are both really strong characters, intelligent, instinctive warriors preferring the single life yet drawn to one another. It's very intense and interesting, action driven plot with romance as secondary but still emotional and touching.
