The Heee-Haaw! This great children's book Grandma Reading the book to a baby. Over 600,000 copies sold.
I was walking-down the road and I saw a donkey.
He looked like he hadn't eaten, in days, had hair extensions, to look like a small horse as if to protect his identity had a ridiculous, clown getup including a soft--serve--flip hairstyle was wearing a pin from the park in southwest, Brooklyn and was eating luncheon meat sandwiches and taking turns, playing a Vita with someone who looked exactly, like the Ugandan warlord, made famous two years ago.
Peppy guitar tune He was a moaney, bony, clowny, ice--cream--coney phony--pony from Coney eating baloney and playing Sony with Kony.?
In The Winky-Wonkey-Donkey you follow the illustrator while walking down the road observing the wonkey donkey. With rhymes and fun illustration, this is a book kids will keep coming back to. This book didn't have much depth but it is a great read for kids who are in kindergarten and below. I personally loved this book! This book has great pictures with a funny story. As mentioned above, the story was not very robust but was very fun none the less. This book would be great for lessons about how rhyming can bring a book to life.
This book is a lot of fun to read. It's very interactive, and becomes more hilarious the further you get into the book. The reader learns about a donkey with all of these differences, and the story builds onto itself as it lists the characteristics on each page, including the ones from the page before. The illustrations appear to be water color, beautifully done at that. Overall, this is definitely a blast to read with the little ones.
This is one of my all time favorite picture books! The narrator is walking down the road when he sees a donkey that only has 3 legs, which makes him a wonky donkey. Then he notices he only has 1 eye so he’s a winky, wonky donkey. The book continues until he’s a “spunky hanky-panky cranky stinky-dinky lanky honky-tonky winky wonky donkey.” This would be such a fun read aloud book with lower elementary classes to teach them about rhyming.
This is a very silly and engaging book that most ages will enjoy, especially if the sound effects are added in the background. It is slightly long, especially if crunched for time, but should be read at some point.
Description of the donkey is added in each page with funny and catchy rhyme words. I liked this book because it was hilarious especially how they used descriptive words on the donkey. The teacher can use this book to teach about descriptive words to kids.
This is a super fun and silly book. If you are wanting a fun book to read with your kids just to be silly, then this is the book for you. It has some silly words, funny names for the donkey, and there is a fun sound track that goes along with the book that makes it even sillier.
This book was read to my family and friends on Christmas Eve. It was so hilarious and put everyone in a real happy mood. I also gave this book to my niece who teaches special ed. and she read it to her kids and they laughed and loved it too!
This book is great! I read it for my nephews on Christmas and it was hilarious. My whole family was laughing and enjoying the book while I was reading it. I can't wait to eventually read this to my students and hear them laugh when they hear this goofy story about a crazy donkey!
My mum bought this book for my son. I’m not sure why it’s so popular ? Maybe I need to listen to the song. My son always have a breakdown midway through this book, he’s only 4 months old. Maybe I’ll try again when he’s older
We absolutely love this story! My 7 year old has it memorized! She loves it, so when we started participating in a reading challenge... this book had to be on the list!
I think this was such an endearing book that would keep students extremely engaged. I can’t imagine being able to read it without your whole class laughing.
Flula Borg read this book aloud on YouTube for SaveTheChildren's #SaveWithStories campaign. You can watch the video on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/h4OxWEPmaPA
The story was delightful with great pictures. I want to get the book for my grandkids.
Normally I read books with more words and less pictures, but I received this from a dear friend for my birthday in honor of my love of farm animals. This book had me in tears laughing. It is so cleverly written and engaging. Hats off to author Craig Smith and illustrator Katz Crowley for your creative genius. If you have a child (or an adult who loves farm animals, rhymes, and acceptance), buy this book!
