Juno Beck is trying to step out from the long shadow of her father and make her place in the music industry. But this bear shifter’s days are numbered and she’s running out of time to make her mark on the world. When she stops for a day trip to visit an old friend, she discovers the hiding place of one of country music’s bad-boys-who-got-away. But everything she thought she knew about Rhett Copeland from interviews is wrong, and he’s hiding a mountain of secrets. And as she struggles with the decision to do what’s right or what’s necessary, she begins discovering who she really is, and what she really stands for. And that singer she’s crushed on for all these years, is about to show her how it really is to live.

Rhett Copeland threw away his destiny. The white lion shifter left his Pride to become a touring musician, but something important has sent him into hiding in a last-chance Crew of lumberjacks. His accounts are frozen, his muse is crippled, his fans are on the hunt for him, and his new Rogue Pride Crew gets on his nerves at every turn. All he wants to do is stay hidden, avoid as much logging work as possible, and pester his new Crew, but Juno Beck is going to expose him and all of his secrets to the public if he isn’t careful. Too bad she’s too interesting for her own good because his songwriting muse only wakes up around her, and now he can’t leave the mesmerizing stranger alone. But the more he lets Juno in, the more she threatens the life he’s carved out here in the wilderness of Rogue Pride territory.

He has nothing but time, and she barely has any days left. He has lost his passion for the music, while she’s more driven than ever to make her mark on the industry. Lions and mole rats and bears, oh my! Two worlds collide in T. S. Joyce’s second installment of the Daughters of Beasts series.

Great short, sweet shifter story!

T.S. Joyce is one of my guilty pleasure authors.
She writes sexy, funny, messed-up heroes who are just looking to survive and get by until they meet their mates in the most unusual circumstances and then their worlds are turned upside down.

I Love these character's, their stories and their histories.

T.S. Joyce has an amazing gift of tying all these crews together from one generation to the next.
The Son's have had their stories told, now it's the girls turn to get their HEA.

Once again we are with the crazy crew. I really liked getting to know Rhett more. His story was unique and made me like him better. He totally was not what you thought.

I loved how Remi made sure that Juno stayed around and had fun, instead of going back to her life that was sucking the life out of her.

I really liked how this one ended, loved the grand gesture that Rhett made and how Juno realized Beaston vision wasn’t what she thought.

Rhett is a little like Clinton, he's not quite right. Turns out he has reasons for acting as he does, he's lost everything that mattered to him and he's trying to make the crew work. The h is sad, but can't resist the H, and they are really sweet together. Loved it.

Rhett and Juno's story!.
I'm a full blown PNR whorebag. I devoured this glorious bit of fiction like a fat kid with cake.

Juno's struggling with her job not really doing what she wants but instead what others want. She's miserable, dirt broke on her ass in just about every sense and the last thing she needs for her bank balance in a vaykay to see Remi and her new crew.

Rhett is the crew clown who pretends to not see as much as he does. The watcher who hides. A man who's past isn't far from catching up on him when he's not ready to be found.

I love these stories for many reasons!. They're jam pack full of action. The characters have great chemistry and a believable connection making it easy to love their dysfunctional crazy asses. The story is fast paced and far fetched in the best ways.

Juno and Rhett have this frenemies vibe at first because they see eachother too clearly. Fate has no boundaries though and for them it was happening regardless of their struggles. Good ol'Beasten poking his nose in again.

Once again I can't complain. A quick easy read that packs a punch in all the best ways. Hilarious happenings, sweet torment and that family vibe is all that's needed but of course we get more than that.

I'm legit gagging for Grim's story!. I just know he's going to break me.

For a quick, fun read, I love T.S. Joyce and this book falls into that category. It's fun to see what happened to the children of the original packs.

Love and Music

Wow! Just when you think you have a favorite she gives you another amazing story to compete with your list. This series feels like coming home. I love everything about Damon's Mountains and I love when T takes us back, but gives us something new. This story was sweet and beautiful, about living again and not wasting your life. You only have one life to live and you should live it they was that makes you happy. Her words always speak to me and her stories always put a smile on my face. Cant wait for Ash Bear!

Love this series!

After what feels like a year of rainy days, and a really hard week, Beck Bear was just what I needed. The Beck Brothers where always 2 of my favorites and of course Juno Beck is a chip off the old block who can’t help but fall for someone just like Dad. If she doesn’t work herself to death first.

Rhett has lost his muse, and is doing his best to help his sister., while of course being as obnoxious as possible to everyone close to him. Last thing he expects to find is the daughter of his idols is all he was looking for and more.

TJ once again had me laughing, crying and hoping for more. Thanks TJ for letting us spend time with some old friends too!

Ok, look, if this is the book you’re consideringvas your first foray into TS Joyce, STOP. DO NOT READ THIS ONE FIRST. It isn’t representative of the kinds of stories she’s capable of. It’s...alright, but it’s not wow. Go find a C-Team book: Lumberjack Bear is a good start. This book and these characters are falling apart with every iteration, and I don’t think judgingvthis author on this book is fair. She’s a good writer, but this one wasn’t great.

1. This book and previous books have begun to rely too heavily on Beaston’s interference. All of the drama in this book was caused by him. He needs to die now, thanks.
2. The plots are too predictable and so cheesey it hurts to read. And don’t make sense either. Why are these kids all leaving Damon’s Mountains? Who is going to look after Damon’s Mountains if the kids all leave after the parents die off? Are they not welcome in their families’ crews? What the crap?
3. Uh...condoms? Can we get some condoms between shifters having what amounts to casual sex? I don’t care that they fall into bed almost immediately, because they do, but c’mon, let’s be adults about this and give a guy a condom.
4. After all the trouble their parents went through, you’d think they’d have raised their kids better than they managed to. Juno being upside down poor was so dumb! Unnecessary and downright rude to her as a character. Why do all these characters have to be bad with money? Why can’t some of them understand and use a budget. Or, you know, be adult about money and take care of their bills without running themselves into the ground?
What number am I on? 5? Already? Let me sum up the rest of my enumerations:
Joyce needs beta readers to critique her work rather than praise it. It give her useful feedback rather than letting her get away with the same ol’ same ol’. She’s not growing as a writer and it shows. Try again. Do a better job with Grim.

Awesome

Awesomeness. Absolutely loved it! I’ve never heard of an albino lion. Awesome to think about... the complexity of the characters is awesome. I will say it just builds my curiosity for Grim. I was happy that she didn’t really die... though I did think that she was going to and the like cpr or something.... beautiful story. Not my favorite but still a 5 star I loved it.

Rhett & Juno

This story was so sweet. You have Rhett who was a country singer who went to be with the last crew so he could be around and help his twin as she was in rehab.

Then there is Juno who comes to stay with her friend. When meeting Rhett they find they have so much in common. "The love of music".

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

Just when I thought I could not possibly fall deeper in love with the Shifters of Damon’s Mountains Universe or with T. S. Joyce’s imagination and story telling skills along comes Beck Bear, Juno and Rhett’s romance and I’m completely blown away, totally captured once again. Emotionally, I don’t know how she can possibly top this one… yet, I’ve not one single doubt that she will because that's the type of story teller she is.

This time there is no light recap of the basic story. There are far too many places where I could let my enjoyment of Juno and Rhett’s amazing story allow a slip that could ruin this for someone else… and I try very hard not to do that. This time it’s all about emotions, and it’s not always easy to capture those elusive things in words, but I’ll do my best.

Bravery comes in many shapes and situations. You are about to meet examples of bravery at its finest. Juno is driven. That feeling is strong, we know she’s out to accomplish her personal plan and nothing, not even a deep friendship will stop her… or at least in her mind it won’t, in reality friendship tops just about everything else and Remi proves that quite well. Rhett is also driven but for a far different reason. He hides in a last chance Crew, deep in the mountains and takes pot shots at his friends (for all their grumbling about each other, they are friends), turns on the constant joker persona and hides his true self. Two worlds, two lives will collide when Juno and Rhett meet. The word “mate” isn’t used, and I found that omission conveyed an even stronger, deeper connection between them. Because everyone, Rhett, Juno, the crew, Remi and the reader knew what they were to each other… but that label wasn’t given to what they share until almost the ending… still we knew, it’s obvious even if unspoken. And to be clear without giving anything away… I understood why that title wasn’t used, it’s telling, it’s emotional and it fits for their story so perfectly. You’ll see.

There is no way that I can explain to you the emotional impact that Beck Bear had on me. Yet, it’s very real. Because of the connection within the Damon’s Mountains Universe set of series, there was a strong feeling of going home, of getting that first glimpse of a dear friend after a long time apart, that coming home feeling that probably only people who love deep, connecting series will “get”. If you’ve read the connecting series you will find some familiar faces that will bring back some amazing memories of other romances, other times when we got lost in Damon’s Mountains with them. I sincerely hope there is more one day because that would be an amazing story… and to say more qualifies as a spoiler. I just hope there is more, enough said – those who’ve read Beck Bear understand.

As you can tell, I was completely blown away, completely captured by the emotions of Rhett and Juno’s romance. It’s such an intense story in many ways, in others it’s a sexy love story that will make you smile and believe in happy ever afters. Now, I need Grim’s story. Grim is such a complex character that I cannot wait to understand his full story and meet the person brave enough to love him.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Fluff.... nice fluff but fluff all the same...

This felt like it had more fluff than a Pomeranian just out of a bath....
Don’t get me wrong, I liked both Juno and Rhett .... really I did ..
But there was N o t h I n g ,NOTHING TO THIS.....
Juno is worn down and disillusioned with the life she’s made for herself, soo tired and rundown from what she’s allowed to do to her she can’t see the forest 🌳 for the trees 🌳 and poor sweet mixed up Rhett has allowed much of the same chasing his dreams and sacrificing for others....
This could had real depth and feeling, like Ms.Joyce is known for ....

Though honestly the stories always having to revolve around the driven, broken down and just plain crazy 😜 and hostile, has started to feel more than a little old... I’m all for quirky and off beat and different, but this is soo not a world I’d wanna be a shifter in.... almost all seen to have some devastating problem with their animal and most seem either half crazy or all the way there from it.... and it’s not like the live for 100’s of years or anything ... no Thanks...

Anyway, back to the story... warning ⚠️: might have a spoiler or two 🚨... not sure..
Juno and Rhett meet both having a bad day and start off snarky,as they always do in these stories... they start off snarky, get a lil buzzed playing a game, run for their lives form their of course ( cue eye roll) CrAzY 😜 alpha ,then once safe and showered spend the night talking and bearing their souls to each other... then late night/early morning they have sex,and Juno accidentally uses her claws on Rhett’s back,( mean something very important)... and go to sleep..
Ps, I loved what a sweetie Rhett is and he earned major points w/me when after sex he came back w/a washcloth and cleaned Juno up... that’s a guy who cares and respects and that’s very special.. like when he gets up before her to write and turns a towards the bed for her because she was cold .... good guy..
It’s the little things that can say the most ...
But Juno doesn’t know what she’s done til later that day when he shows her right before she leaves....
Ok,don’t fight for the girl then ? Let her leave and be gone, what 2*3 days and then get her back ?
Oooooooooooo k.....
Here’s the thing, these were two interesting ppl, w/equally interesting backgrounds but all that is glossed over, this story was like insta love on speed ,they barely get to know each other when they are accidentally mated, she leaves for a few days ,then come back for a HEA...
No depth,no discussion,no nothing ,very mild chemistry, heck just very mild period....
I felt I’d you blinked yo could miss it all .... meet, love, mated (accidentally) ,walk away and back together in less than a week...
Any you know what ? It felt like it.....
I can’t recommend, cotton candy is pure fluff but it usually leaves a better taste in my mouth, because with it I know what I’m getting...
Here I expected a story with chemistry, crazy and passion, here I got some crazy but other wise a whole lot of nothing...

Another winner

I guess that I am a sucker for nostalgia because yet again I was very moved by the second installment of the Daughters of Beasts series, and give it 5 stars. Since I began reading T. S. Joyce shifter romances, I have come to love so many of the characters. Yet another group of them shows up near the end of this novel, and are mentioned throughout. It enriched my experience and appreciation while reading this book.
Music is the central theme in this story about Rhett, the white lion shifter and all around slacker member of the last chance Rogue crew, and Juno Beck, a music industry employee and daughter of well-loved country musician Brighton Beck. It's a redemptive tale about the healing power of love and music. Turns out there is much more to Rhett than the drinking and practical jokes that seem to dominate his life. I enjoyed the plot immensely.
As a side note, I want to point out that the real white lions that exist today in captivity only are not albino at all. Within the population of wild lions in the Timbavati region of South Africa some regularly colored lions once carried a recessive gene that produced a white cub on occasion. It's believed that most if not all lions with this gene are in captivity and many generations of white lions have been bred to produce quite a few. They have pigmentation in their skin, fur, and eyes, which means they are not albino. At one time the Cincinnati Zoo had 7, two adult males, one adult female, plus three male cubs and one female cub. The cubs were born at the zoo to the female adult after mating with the dominant male. All of these lions were on loan from the famous magicians Siegfried and Roy. Some of those lions are now gone.
Since Rhett and his sister Sara have dark blue eyes, they are not albino, I think.

And there it is...

As expected, I loved this story. So far, I’ve loved every single book by this author. Why? Simply because some authors can write great novels with hundreds of pages that take hours or days to read. But chances are, you may only read those books once - maybe twice. However, there is something to be said about an author who can write great, somewhat shorter books that you can read in just an hour or two, but the story resonates, it makes you laugh, tear up, and take that extra 5 minutes that you don’t have just to finish it - and as soon as it is done, you want to go back and read it again. The thing that is special about these books is the author takes these relatable characters and makes the almost real. I see myself and my best friend of 30 years in this particular book when Remi and Juno are together. Bringing back the others from Damon’s Mountains will likely cause a binge reading of all those books, yet again. The point is, read this book, then read all the others, then go back and do it again. A good author can take you on a journey and leave you satisfied by the time you read the last line. A great writer takes you on a similar journey, but by the end of one, you’re already looking for another.

A great read

Another great read by T.S. Joyce. This story is all about Rhett the super sexy Albino Loin Shifter who is also a country singing star, hiding out in this Last Chance Crew too protect his sister who suffered at the hands of their Pack. And this is where we meet Juno as we all know who is Remi`s friend who comes to visit but realises who Rhett is and cannot believe that he's been hiding out in this last chance crew away from a world where everyone thought he was dead. These too get off to a rough start when Rhett sees that Juno recognises him and tells her to leave him alone for him to come back and accidentally hit her with his pickup truck sending her bear flying. But the two experience sparks together and bond quickly through a night of fun that Juno desperately needs. I love this book but gave it 4 stars as I did want more but I love the heart of this book where it showed how old music can be great again depending on who sings it and that music speaks to the soul and shouldn't be changed to suit other people's needs. I love the chemistry between the two main characters and you've got to admit their Rogue Crew makes for an exciting experience

Really Good

Juno and Rhett's Story was okay for me. I liked book one of the Daughters of Beasts much better and I think it's because Beaston's involvement was more and clear. This time around in book two... not so much.

Learning Rhett's backstory along with his sister was a real eye-opener to understand him . He definitely reaches in your heart. Juno thinking about Beaston's prediction is also quite sad but what grows between them along with everything hilariously funny makes for a really good story. I look forward to Grim's story next. Who knows maybe will get Rhett's sisters' story as well along the way.

I did like the fact that the Beck brothers were in this one as was Juno's mother. Almost all of the older crews were in it briefly and I think I would've wanted some dialogue from them.

I really enjoy this author's ability to put romance, sizzling love scenes combined with hysterical situations a definite plus. I like the fact that the women are strong women. Who can handle these dysfunctional but lovable hot shifters.

This is the second book in this series. I am loving getting to read about the daughters of beasts. This book focus on Juno Beck the daughter of Brighton Beck. Her father and Uncle were musicians. Music is a part of her. She has wanted to have an influence in the industry but it isn’t turning out the way she wanted it to. Her days are numbered and she is lost. A day trip to visit Remi will change the time she has left. Once again T.S. Joyce has done it. She writes these fantastic books that pull you in and make you wish these characters were real and that you could be friends with them. Juno thinks her days are numbered and that she has to make the most of them. After meeting Rhett she begins to feel something. Fate wouldn’t be so cruel as to let her find her person so close to her end would it? I just can’t enough of these characters. I am loving that we are going back to Damien’s mountains in a way. These girls are fantastic. I am impatiently waiting for next one already. Congrats again T.S. Joyce. I can’t recommend her books enough.

Juno Beck

Wow! I loved this KU library selection! Joyce has a way of starting her shifter books with junior high level humor, then switching mid paragraph to heart stopping adult level life and death situations requiring the featured couple to rise to the occasion. And this one does that, and more.
Juno Beck, daughter of Brighton Beck of the musical duo the Beck Brothers, takes rare days off from work to travel to visit her friend Remi at the Last Chance Crew. It doesn't take long for her to realize that the crew, and especially their Alpha, Grim, is crazy. Or that a MIA lion shifter country music star has joined them. Fletcher has his own reasons for dropping out of his life and his obligations, just as Juno has her reasons for cutting her stay short to get back to work. Their brief time together has changed them both. But will it be enough to save them?

There's a reason for everything and it became more clear with this 2nd book. I wasnt sure about the first book because it was done a little different. Now I get it and became pretty clear to me. I LOVED this story. Brighton's daughter, Juno. Wow...she was something else. All sweet and stuff and clearly struggling with stuff including her job and money. Visiting Remi saved her life because she really unfurled those proverbial wings and it took her some time to understand Beaston's prediction. Remi took it into her hands and Juno basically forced her hand. I loved that she had her airline app hacked haha. Rhett...dude he was awesome. I loved learning about him...loved! God...he really was a good guy. I cant give everything away but damn I wasnt disappointed in the least. The end? There were tears...again! :)

Shifter romance with peeps feel broken and living, laughing & letting love in charged everything - need a moment like that read this!

Junk was told by a deer that she would die so she thinks she is living her life to the fullest but she really just focused on her career. She doesn't even enjoy her job anymore....slowly dying. Rhett in with the "missfits" the last chance outcast - forming their own crew. Mail finds a mate and Rhett wouldn't never say it but he loves her and his silly add brought her here and her best friend Juno. Junk definitely causing trouble for him. A story of how we can all get lost in day to day maze and forget to breathe, live and laugh and especially love. A great book. Violence 2 sex2
