Farrah was a troubled young woman who had spent half of her life in foster care after a tragedy tore her family apart. Having had to push through her pain alone, she became guarded and accustomed to putting on a strong front. Farrah never felt loved, so she didn’t know how to give love, even after falling head over heels for a guy named ZsaZu. ZsaZu fell hard for Farrah as well and was determined to break the thin layer of ice from around her heart. Meanwhile, she pretended to be heartless and downplayed her love for him out of fear of being hurt. Too damaged to know her worth, she settled for playing the side chick role instead, but he wasn’t satisfied. ZsaZu wanted Farrah all to himself and forced her to either fully commit to him or walk away. Farrah chose to break his heart and walked away from their complicated relationship. Leaving ZsaZu hurt and vulnerable which caused him to make a hasty decision regarding his love life. A decision that left the heart that Farrah could no longer pretend not to have broken.
LOVE SHOULDN'T HURT... YES THIS WAS A GREAT STORY FROM BEGINNING TO END.. ZHEN WAS WRONG FOR SMASHING HIS BROTHER'S GIRL BUT I AM GLAD EVERYONE WAS ABLE TO GET A HAPPY ENDING.. A GOOD READ
This book had me hooked from the first page. It felt a little sped up but overall it was a good story with a great storyline. I was happy that Farrah stopped allowing her ice cold heart to deprive her of the love Zu was trying to give her. I was rooting for them the entire time. I would love a part 2 to see where that devious Sevani ends up in life, she was horrible.[
It’s sad when mother let life make then abandon their kids. I loved that no matter what Farrah wasn’t like her mother and made sure brandy was a priority with everything she did. I loved that she was skeptical of everything said to her because it meant she knew how to survive. I’m happy she got her happy ever after, I just wish that her relationship with her mother was better once she found her.
This was a very emotional book. Farrah had so many ups and downs and she spent so much time running from who was willing to help her get through her past. Poor Cali! She was sweet, but when you exact revenge on others, it may come back to bite you. Lessons learned from the characters. Very good plot!
I am glad that Farrah was able to keep her baby and have a good life with ZsaZu! I really wanted her to get payback from the guy who owned the store. On to part two!
I love how shey marie told the story. The culture of the zu and his family was different and really made the story even better. With any great love they had their ups and downs but I’m glad that everything worked out for them.
Awwww man. Its dope when authors can put you in your feelings like this. Unfortunately every mother daughter relationship isn't the best and this is a truth. I loved the spelling of Zu! And Shey hit me with greatness again. Shes always been one to look for aa far as books.
Loved this story ,it showed that carrying around baggage from our past, can ruin our future. Farrah needed to forgive everyone that hurt and did her wrong in her past in order to be happy in her future. I'm glad she found So and opened her heart to him.
I read this book in one sitting.. These 2 were definitely on a everlasting rollercoaster and they both deserved each other.. You did a great job with this one Shey
