I have a secret. Darkness exists. I try to hide, but where can I go when it lives inside me?On the run from those who want to kill me, I made an uneasy alliance and found a new home. Everything goes just fine until a coven of witches walk into the pub where I work. Broody, sexy, and scary as hell, I’m determined to avoid them, no matter how much attraction sizzles between us.But Ezra, Alexander, Jason, and Benjamin have no intention of leaving me alone. They’re the council’s finest hunters, and they recognize the power that lives inside me, even if they don’t know what it is. They’re in town on a mission and agree to hold off turning me in. Which means I have limited time to convince them I’m not a bad person. The darkness inside me grows, though, and when it breaks free in public, I’ll be forced to face the consequences. The only question is, can I trust these men who I feel a bond with, or will it lead to my destruction?
I was definitely intrigued by this paranormal reverse harem's plot as I like magical/witch stories and love reverse harem. I did like all of the heroes pretty well - we don't know a ton about likes or dislikes or their history but I did get a good sense of their differing personalities. I tend to like leader/boss types the most so Alexander is my favorite so far. One of the potential heroes is kind of tortured and the heroine interacts with him in a unique way that I liked a lot. I liked the romantic scenes and I can definitely see potential for good sex scenes further along in the series - I like the way this author writes romantic scenes. I wasn't a huge fan of the heroine as I'm kind of picky about my humor so her obsession with cookies and her inner dialogue were kind of cutesy and not to my taste so much at times, though I liked some of her mischievous behavior and loved how she stood up for her relationship history. There is a lot of attention paid to physical descriptions and the guys hotness/her reaction to them and though I like a hot guy as much as all readers, I found myself wishing there was more on page descriptions of their interactions in other ways. I was told how each guy made her feel and about how they are all drawn to her/each other magically, but I didn't feel the relationship development as much as I generally prefer, though it was more than some other RH's I have read too. The story ends on a mild cliffhanger, and it and the information revealed about her backstory toward the end have me intrigued about what happens next. 2.5 ⭐️ on GR scale
Magic, Reverse harem, hiding, five maybe six men, strong female.
triggers/ red flags: torture, death of a family member, violence, ends in a cliffhanger, no sex scenes.
Aurors hiding. She of course does something that gets her noticed. Four guys take a shine to her and it a rather quick friendship.
Auroras cute but ballsy. I like all the men in her life and I'm looking forward to reading more of her story as it unfolds. You are left with questions and the fight scene was very quick even though it had been building from the beginning. (a little disappointing)
Recommend? Yes Read more from the author? yes Follow along with her series? yes
Really enjoyed this book. I'm curious about our lead heroine. I will have to read this book again as it seems that I may have missed a couple things here and there. I can't wait to learn more about this world.
This book was eh, its about Aurora who is a powerful witch and she is running away from some ppl, but then she comes across with 5 dudes who are also witches and they protect her. I liked Aurora’s characters because she is really strong and sassy. But i thought that something was missing, like the connection between her and the guys cuz their relationship goes really fast and thats why i couldnt feel the connection or the chemistry. The ending was kinda confusing, even tho it was fun to read but something was missing and i couldnt feel the chemistry or the connection between the guys and the heroine and also the ending was weird.
Despite leaving things up in the air at the end of the second book, the author dropped the series so there are NO MORE BOOKS afterwards!!!!! ______________ Entertaining read!
Good 1) Settings were described well enough to picture without overwhelming the story 2) Plot-driven storyline was intriguing and had a beginning, a middle and an end 3) Female lead was entertaining (love all the references), stood up for herself against any attempt the harem made to control, manipulate or manhandle her and gave as good as she got when it came to nicknames! 4) Male leads were all distinct, interesting and respectful of her autonomy once she put her foot down 5) The romance-drive storyline was not overwhelmed with the insta-lust, which allowed it to build and the characters to connect in a satisfying manner 6) Sex positive
Mediocre 1) Flow of story was... off 2) Flow of time, both within the same day and over a couple of days, in story was confusing at times 3) Best friend was cute but kind of a non-entity
Bad 1) Very thin world-building 2) Magic seemed to be 'as the plot demands'
There is so much out there, I’m not sure if I’m just fatigued by some of the tropes... but really where this gets me is that the characters just feel incredibly juvenile in what is supposed to be an adult environment.
For the life of me, I cannot tell if I have read this book before, or if I have read another RH just like it, which in my book is not a good sign either way. If I cannot distinguish your book - or remember it - that means it wasn't a standout. I'm fairly certain it was actually a different RH I read, because I seem to remember the missing 'brother' chained to a bed rather than a chair - if anyone knows what I'm talking about, let me know!
Of course, having just read (reread?) it, certain things do jump out - the writing is not particularly smooth or mature, nor are the characters. There is no real character development either; I have no sense of who these people are aside from the h's love of cookies and self-proclaimed love of sass and some trope-y descriptions of the males. I don't find her particularly sassy, but apparently putting her hand on her popped hip is all that's needed, because every time she mentions being sassy, she does that move - as does her friend. Overall the book feels very tell rather than show. Also, the h makes rather innocuous statements, and the author chooses to treat those statements as rather provoking, having the males left with their mouths hanging open or shocked looks on their faces. I just didn't buy it based on what she was saying.
There are also some plot points that don't make sense. For example, the Hs are suspicious that they have come to this place tracking their lost brother (that they are apparently never actively searching for upon arrival as they spend all their time with Aurora, because, you know, priorities), but they live there! How is that a strange and unusual thing to go home during your search? Are you honestly surprised he may have disappeared near where you live?? Also, for apparently badass council trackers, you may actually try tracking at some point in the book rather than putting it on an inexperienced witch (and if they are so much more advanced, why not give her some instruction or aid in using her powers?). To that end, there is actually very little magic done in this book at all.
Also, the author needs a good proofreader, because she is constantly confusing words (for example, your and you're) and mistaking possessives, plurals, and plural possessives among other mistakes, and it really takes the reader out of the story.
I have just finished this book and it left me overwhelmed with emotions. I liked it so much I have no words. It's like the author wrote this book for me. I hope there will be more, otherwise I'll be crying myself to sleep for 6 months. Warning for cliffhanger haters, there is one at the end of this book. So, Aurora, how do I describe one of the coolest, most lovable characters ever? She is strong, powerful, most loyal friend you can imagine, loves food, would sell her soul for cookies, loves men, fantasising about them and doing stuff to them, and has the pottiest mouth ever. Absolute perfection! And she is sooooooooooo funny. And men, oh they are so amazing, big beautiful Ezra, shy and slightly awkward Jason, and always funny Benjamin. I am still super mad at Alexander. And then there is mysterious Mikael, who I'm guessing we'll meet in the next book. I mean I hope, we must. And Aurora's best friend, who I would like to see more of in future and her beautiful dog. The amount of hot and sizzling is off the charts although this is very slow burning reverse harem romance, but so so hot. The idea and the plot are amazing. The characters are well developed and the author's writing beautifully consistent. The villain is absolutely despicable, as he should be. And the ending made me scream and cry for more as I warned above. This was one of my favourite books ever, and I can't wait for the next one. Thank you K.A. Knight so much for Aurora, all her lovely men, and their story. You are amazing and you rock!
More like somewhere between 3 and 4. Anyway. It wasn't bad, bit funny here, bit cute there and of course there's some sexy time. But original? Wouldn't say so. •The dinamics of the relationship •The heroine (tries hard to be funny, naturaly stunning, powerful, broken, cute etc. To sum up a Mary Sue....and I somehow still liked her) and her type of paranormal •Animal companion (who might or might not turns out to be the last member of the harem....just a feeling, it still could be the sixth guy from the pic....or oh my they could be the same person? None of these would be unheard of...) • An older mentor/father type guy, who loves our heroine like his own daughter • A bestie for the sole purpose of showing what a fun and amazing person Aurora is
So Original? NO Entertaining? YES!! These are thing we have read about a hundred times and I'm sure we are going to read about them just as much in the future. Why? Because it works!!! I feel a bit like when I watch Kdrama. I do it for fun. And if I feel good when I read about perfect girls finding love with perfect boys who adore them and save everyone cause they are just so damn special? Then I hope authors keep writing these so I have my regular dose of mindless pleasure. I gave it 4 instead of 3 because the countless Harry Potter references. *Sight* Good old times
I enjoyed Aurora's Coven. Aurora is a witch with a secret - and it appears to be a legitimately good one plot-wise (i.e. not a random trivial roadblock like so many of this genre end up having). She's started to create a new life for herself and then a major wrench is thrown into her plans when the supernatural world catches up with her.
I appreciated the unique way KA Knight allows her to get to know each of the guys equally/independently. I genuinely like the MC, and it doesn't hurt that she's one of the good guys, even if her power is dark. I will definitely read the next book (and I kind of have to because, while it's not the worst one ever, I do feel like this solidly qualifies as an incomplete story / cliff hanger ending.
My only other complaint is how long it took her to acknowledge the very obvious "plot twist" Pretending she didn't put it together was distractingly unbelievable.
I had hoped that this book would be available on KU like KA Knights other books, but alas it wasn’t so I brought it (Imma “try before you buy kind of person”) and it was so worth it!
I have only recently started to read KA Knight and have been obsessively reading her books, and let me tell you Auroras Coven did not disappoint.
First of all it’s a fantasy slow burn RH. It revolves around Aurora who is running her past and when a group of sexy witches stumble upon her she fights her instinct to run and decides to let them in. Obviously it takes time and she doesn’t completely trust them, but one step at a time as the saying goes.
Aurora is feisty and brings out the best in her guys. They are drawn to her, instantaneous by the way, and as you do develop feelings for her in a short amount of time.
I very much like the plot, scary darkness hunting Aurora who so happens to have also kidnaped the witches brother (coincidence I think not) they are obviously destined to meet but to what end, I can’t wait to find out in the sequel when it comes out! 🖤
This book. I cannot lay enough praise upon it. The storyline is fantastic and the main characters, I love them all. The FMC Aurora has experienced hurt and tragedy, though we don’t know exactly what for most of the book. As a result, she has gone on the run before trying to settle in a small town. She’s defensive, doesn’t trust easily, and has tried to harden her heart, but when she meets four male witches, they begin to chip away at her walls. I love Aurora - with her sarcasm and love of food & Harry Potter, she just may be my spirit animal. The guys, oh the guys! I don’t know if I could possibly pick a favorite, and luckily, as this is a Reverse Harem romance, I don’t have to! I highly recommend this to any on the fence, and I eagerly await the next installment. This new author has blown me away with her talent, check out her other work as well, it’s just as good.
Party of cinnamon roll alphas enraptured by a new witch in town. Cliffhanger. First In Series. Spice: 🌶️ 1/5: Romance with kissing and touching, but no sex. Tropes: Reverse Harem, Soulmates, Heroine on the Run, The One (Lost to history & immense power), White Knights Setting: Small town UK. Subplots beyond the main & romantic plotlines: It’s a shorter length novel, that enjoys pop culture references and character banter. Character Aurora: Feisty, Guarded, Powerful, Witch in Hiding Characters Male Foursome: Protective, Gentle, Affectionate, Witches Best Cookies Monster: I imagine that are Tams Tams, because I too will kill for those cookies.
Note: I provide full star ratings for books I complete, aiming to accentuate their strengths while refraining from negative critiques.
Oh wow...this book, like Katie’s other books, really packs a punch and I absolutely inhaled it. It captivated my attention from page one all the way to the end! I love Aurora..she is sarcastic, independent and bloody powerful AF-I love her food (collies mostly) obsession and I had so many laugh out loud moments while reading! All her guys are great..very different and all of different ways of connecting with Aurora, this makes it interesting though! My favourite is of course Ezra followed very closely by Alexander...but Jason and Ben are still great too! Of course I have so many questions, especially after that ending, but I am completely invested in this series and very excited for book 2!! K.A. Knight is a very talented author..highly recommended!!
Aurora's Coven was spellbinding! A truly magical read! Aurora's past is hazy at first, in the sense that you know something abhorrent happened, but you're left guessing as to the 'what'. When Ben and the rest of his coven seemingly stumble upon Aurora by sheer luck, it turns out to be the best and worst thing that could have happened to her. In them she finds trust, understanding and acceptance -- most of the time anyway. You're left guessing at the end as to what exactly Nev might be, outside of the norm. But the question of what Aurora is becomes glaringly obvious in quite an epic way! All in all, I *loved* this book and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a well-written, magic filled RH, with steam and suspense all wrapped up together in a muscle-man sandwich.

Wow what an exciting story, I did not want to put it down, Aurora is a fiesty yet lovable witch, she keeps her distance from most people but her bestie Lane snuck in as did her dog. One night at work a man Walks into the bar and her life takes a turn in a different direction especially when she meets his friends
Exciting and full of drama the story sucked me right in, Aurora is a fantastic character I love her sass and her own special blend of fiesty yet strange self doubt, there are humourous parts to the story as well as feels and romance. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and cannot wait to read the next book in the series
This book was amazing!! I really enjoyed the unique and creative take on witches. The FMC was funny, confident, and fierce. Her sarcastic remarks and love of food had me bursting out laughing so many times. The interactions with her BFF and dog were snort inducing too(I want a Neville of my own!). Although there were plenty of lighthearted moments, the characters are also working through their own issues and trauma. They all have dark pasts and secrets galore but they are trying to make the best of life. I'm dying to know what happens next, especially after that ending!! I hope the whole family (all 7 maybe?) will be together soon!
We follow Aurora who is a witch who meets a group of hot men who are also witches. We get to learn about them and their lives and how they are all tied together. Super intriguing and fun. It is a harem so if that’s not your thing then you probably wouldn’t like this. There’s not that much smut in it compared to Knight’s other books which was a little disappointing but the great plot was worth it nonetheless.
Can’t wait to pick up the next one but I’m not sure if the author is finishing the story after the second one, since I heard that one also ends on a cliffhanger. :c
Aurora's Coven was a really enjoyable read with some really colourful characters and I can't wait to read more!
The story did have some issues however, particularly in terms of how information was conveyed and some sentence structures. For example there was a lot of build up around Aurora's heritage and then suddenly some information was just plonked in the middle of a sentence like it had already been discussed. Some people may find this to be jarring but I don't think it detracts from the overall enjoyability of the story.
I read this book a while ago and forgot to leave a review. For the past two weeks I have been searching through all the books I’ve read trying to find this book for a reread. Not only do I think this book is awesome even with THAT CLIFF HANGER GAAAR!!! :) I love the characters, plot and writing style. This author has quickly become a must watch and read everything author for me. I’m desperate for this next instalment and now I’ve finally found this book again, I am off for a reread.
Holy forking shirtballs. Another knock-out by Katie Knight. Aurora is a hilariously quirky survivor, and I rooted for her the whole book. Like all of Knight’s heroines, Aurora is broken and wounded and often scared sh*tless, but she never lets that hold her back from living her life and embracing her extraordinary strength.
I wish Ezra was a real guy, because dang. But Knight always manages to write complex love interests, and Aurora’s guys are no different. Now I’m going to go devour book two because that ending has me shook.
Aurora is an amazing protagonist. The Awesome Foursome is equally amazing. Nothing about this book is bad.
Witty, hilarious, quirky...everything you could ask for, this book brings it. Now if you're an advent reader of Knight's you'd know she writes some STEAMY stuff🥵. This book there was less snooky, but I never missed it. There was still the romance and the near nooky.
I finished this book in a few hours because it was so good!
Welcome to the dark side! Well done! This one had my attention from the very beginning! Of course they mystery throughout the story had us wondering, but that did not deter us from falling for the MC and the coven. Her antics and rough girl demeanor added some fun to the story. The brotherly dynamics of the coven are endearing. There are still some questions, but also, we must wait for the next book to find out!
Aurora is a strong sassy female lead character that will not be swayed in her determination of what she needs to do. The world building and complex universe of this story is stunning. It drew me in and left me craving more. Each of the male characters are unique and play well off of the others in the group. If your looking for a fast burn this isn’t it, but if your looking for in depth world building with vivid characters I don’t think you would be disappointed.
I been reading reverse harem for awhile now I am seeing them evolve and the story get better the story Are getting better I am not into the in enjoy the story this story which we probably have the other stuff in other book if and when but the ended so much better then a lot of other books there was something there in it she kicks the bad guys butt, there was more then just the normal harem end, I hope book 2 is coming out soon
An easy read, though partially because it is a bit predictable. A slow burn reverse harem indeed, though perhaps too much of a slow burn, since the entire first book sets up the many many many relationships that are likely to show up later in the series. I ended up finishing the book a little disappointed in the heroine, but still have hope that she will become a stronger character in later books. Worth a read, but don't expect to be blown away (yet).
Very interesting story. At first I was a bit unsure about whether I liked the MC but as the story progressed I grew to like her. I liked the other characters and the storyline was engaging. I feel it was a great start to a new series and the cliffhanger definitely has me interested in the next book. Overall a good read!
