gargoyle shifter Lucan is attracted to a woman who comes into the bar. when he makes a move on her she tells him he has a daughter. talk about breaking his mood. now he has to decide what to do about it.
Elisa came to tell him he was a dad and that her sister was gone and asks him to meet his daughter. she never expected to be attracted to him and she fights it. funny thing is the past doesn't stay buried for either of them.

My favorite Underground Club Vamps! Here you never know what Sup you might meet.
These 3 brothers have been standing guard in stone at Vamps for 13 years, one of them found his mate and his curse was lifted, but the other 2 had to rely on their brother releasing them every once in a while. Now out of the blue the last 2 are released from the curse, could this mean that the evil witch who cursed them is dead?
Lucan who angered the witch that cursed the 3 gargoyle brothers years ago is more than happy to learn of her death, it's just too bad it wasn't at his hand. To curse him was bad enough, but to curse his innocent older brothers was plain mean. Now a very familiar face shows up at the club claiming he has a daughter and guess who the mother is? Will Lucan accept this turn of events, or will he continue on his mission to make up for 13 years of lost time, especially when the bearer of the news makes his gargoyle roar, but worse of all is that she is said witches sibling.

Once again Ms. Carlisle has blown me away! "INFLAME” is a fantastic stand-alone PNR story with magic, a hot gargoyle shifter and a somewhat shy witch. Another amazing romantic suspense must read from the fabulous world of ‘Underground Encounters’ that grabbed me from the get-go! I was glued to my seat & did not want to stop whenever I had to! lol ... If I could, I would give this fast paced page-turner 6 stars! ... I can always count on a fresh, new storyline, with well-defined characters that I truly like and the ever-present witty dialogue from this author! Great attention to detail and surprise twists & turns will keep readers guessing & turning pages like crazy! Even though I volunteered to read this early, I have already pre-ordered my own copy to keep! So yes, I honestly recommend this and all of her books to adult fans of fiction, and especially to those who love contemporary PNR, fantasy, stories like I do! Back to waiting again for more Ms. Carlisle!

Entertaining
This is a well written story that is part of a series and yet still a self contained story.
This story is about a gargoyle who is cursed along with his brothers due to a short relationship. The witch wanted more and he didn’t, as well as they were both very young. The curse was broken and he assumes the witch is dead. And you know what they say about assuming.
I highly recommend this book.

Ahh!! Lucan's story! Three gargoyle brothers have been standing guard in the nightclub Vamps. The three were cursed thirteen years ago, when a witch felt she was wronged by Lucan. Danton found his mate and was released from the curse, Lucan and Mattias have still been stuck. There's only been the occasional freedom by Danton's magic or somebody in the club in danger. One night both brothers are shifting and no one knows how or why. After a couple of days free, they believe the witch who put them there is dead, which cancels the curse.
Lucan is very angry with the witch and only would've only been happier with her death if he did it! No reason for her to have cursed his brothers-which did nothing to her. When a beautiful woman walks into Vamps looking for him, he thinks she's gorgeous, but a little familiar too. Elise tells him some shocking news-he is a father! And that nasty witch is the mother! Lucan is in shock! Not only does he find out he has a thirteen year old daughter, but the beauty before him is her aunt. Is the darkness family-wide??
I really had a good time with Lucan's story! The plot was easy to believe and I really felt for him! I loved Elise! She was so caring and real. Her sister was a nasty witch, but Elise is polar opposite of her! A nurturing and sweet witch. It was more than just attraction between these two. You could feel it! There was no way they could resist it, but was it wrong?? I thought they fit each other well and I am glad they were able to sort through all their conflicting emotions! It was nice to see Lucan grow into the dad role!
I am looking forward to reading about the third brother Mattias and get his story!

This is book eight in the Underground Encounters series and is Lucan and Elise’s story. There is suspense, drama, danger, a curse broken, an evil witch, an unknown daughter that has been raised by her Aunt. I hope there is another book in this series. I have enjoyed them all.

Lucan and his brothers have guarded Vamps, a bar/nightclub for the goth and the others that also live among us, for more than a decade. Gargoyles set in stone form forever by the curse of one evil, power hungry, demented witch. Gargoyles are the protectors of the earth, so when danger approaches they can briefly break out of their stone form, shift and protect their friends and the clients of Vamps when absolutely necessary. Their freedom is only one short day long before they return to stone and watching. Yet, this night is different. This night they have shifted back into human form with no danger present. It seems the curse is lifted and that means the witch is dead. Too bad, for Lucan has spent years fantasizing about the many painful ways he would end that woman’s life.
Just when the formerly cursed gargoyles are beginning to believe in and enjoy their new found freedom… reality strikes again in the form of one petite, beautiful woman with a message that Lucan was completely unprepared to hear. He is the father of a 13 year old daughter, and the woman who cursed him and his brothers is her mother. The lovely woman delivering this astounding news is his daughter’s aunt… and the most attractive woman he’s met in his life. The pull toward Elise is strong, but his confusion and disbelief are stronger. Perhaps not the best first impression, but when blindsided Lucan acted first and thought later. He has a daughter, and is only beginning to understand just how much life has changed with those simple words.
The sparks were flying off of Elise and Lucan from their first meeting and never calmed down. It’s certainly easy to understand the many emotions going through Lucan. Add some teen anger and mistrust, some danger from a nasty vampire and you have the makings of an intriguing, action packed Paranormal / Shifter Romance. I enjoyed stepping into the Underground Encounters world. While I am a huge believer in starting from the beginning, it was very easy to fall into this world. BAD Alpha Dads stories are often like that, part of a series yet separate in scope for that story. We do run into characters from the series, but their parts are very much centered around Lucan, Elise and a new found member of their family, so there was no feeling of leaving important parts behind.
If you love a good Paranormal Romance, if Shifters are your weakness then you’ll feel right at home with Inflame. Sexy moments, relationship development, family bonding and some bad guys to deal with. The perfect storm of a story for me. I admire Lisa Carlisle’s ability to slip something small but important right past us… you’ll see eventually. That takes skills, and I found myself stopping, thinking and nodding at the time. Good job.

Lucan is a gargoyle shifter who is put under a curse by a witch named Veronique, along with his brothers Mattias and Danton. They stay as stone gargoyles day in and day out until they are needed to protect someone from danger, where they shift into their human selves. After 24 hours, they shift back into a stone gargoyle again. The curse can officially be broken if Veronique is dead, or they happen to find and proclaim their mate. Danton had found his mate so he can shift from gargoyle to human anytime he needs to, but Mattias and Lucan haven’t been so lucky. They don’t want to be stuck as stone gargoyles forever, but they also aren’t too interested in finding their mates either. Lucan wants to spread his wings and fly, travel the world, and party when he wants to, he doesn’t want to be tied down to one person after being stone for years. One night, Mattias and Lucan turn back into their human selves with no warning. There’s no danger around, magic wasn’t used, and they didn’t find their mates so they assume that Veronique is dead. They are happy that they aren’t curses anymore, but Lucan is unhappy that he wasn’t the one who killed her. However, he gets an even bigger surprise when a woman named Elise finds him to tell him that he is a father to a teenager named Marguerite. Of course he’s skeptical and shocked but he agrees to at least meet Marguerite to see if maybe she is actually his daughter.
I thought this was very well done. The characters all act like they should, Lucan is apprehensive but eager to see his could be daughter, Marguerite is a hormonal teenage dealing with having the ability to turn to stone, on top of also meeting the father she never knew, and Elise who is trying to be the best caregiver she can be, while trying to keep everyone together. There is a smart twist towards the end that I didn’t see coming that I thought worked well. However, there is a cliqued troupe near that end that I didn’t think was necessary but it didn’t drag down the story too much. I thought it was a very nice, quick read standalone.

There are three brothers that guard Vamps, a special nightclub that caters to the goth and unusual clientele. These brothers also happen to be gargoyles. They were cursed by a witch and they watch in stone and rarely assume their human forms unless there is danger. One brother has broken the curse and fallen in love with a bartender (Heat, Tracy and Danton’s story).
Suddenly, Lucan is unfrozen from his curse. He can assume human form and fly again. The witch that cursed him must be dead. He has not dated a woman in a long time, 13 years to be exact, and he wants to make up for lost time. Vamps is just the place to meet the ladies. Great classical hard rock music, DJ’s, dancing, live bands and friendly familiar faces.
Elise has traveled a long way to find a certain gargoyle man. She tracked him down to the Boston area and to Caterina’s cove and then to Vamps. When she walks into the nightclub, Lucan is instantly attracted to her. He is going to make her his latest conquest. Elise is attracted to Lucan. She is nervous and blurts out that Lucan has a daughter with the witch that curse he and his brothers.
What do you do when you get stunning news like that? You want to meet your daughter. Thirteen is a difficult enough age with hormones and moodiness, throw in a father you don’t know. Marguerite, his daughter runs away. She is wandering the streets of Boston. Is Lucan ready to be a father to a half-witch, half-gargoyle? Can he and Elise find Marguerite?
But wait, the witch is not dead. She is dangerous and deranged. Can Lucan forge a relationship with his daughter and Elise. To complicate matters, Elise is the sister of the witch. Their attraction seems to be doomed.
You can read this book as a stand-a-lone, but for richness and greater understanding you should grab all the Underground Encounters books. This book moves fast and is action packed. A great addition to Bad Alpha Dads and Underground Encounters.

Lucan is one of the three brothers that were cursed by a witch 13 years ago, his older brother Danton was released from the curse when he saved his mate Tracy who is a bartender at Vamps were they were offered security guard positions and have been in stone every since but their brother releases them as often as he can. Lucan and his middle brother Mattias are released unexpectedly from the curse and they all assume that Veronique has died and they take advantage and live like there is no tomorrow. One night a woman comes into the club and Lucan is all over her her name is Elise and she has come looking for him because she just found out that Veronique had cursed him and his brothers but he is very upset when he hears that Elise is Veronique's sister until she explains that they had no idea what she had done to them and that she released them when she found out she never says that her sister is dead but that she can never hurt anyone again. He finds that he is very attracted to Elise even though she is a witch and sister to the woman he hates and wants to kill with his bare hands. Things begin to move along quite fast, great characters really like Marguerite, as well as the story line. I was given a copy as a gift from Booksprout without obligation.

Gargoyle shifter Lucan was cursed (along with his brothers by a vindictive witch to stay in stone, but when they are finally free he is determined to make up for lost time by following up on his attraction to the mysterious blonde who has entered the club where he works. I seriously forgot how great these books were. I seem to have gotten out of order since I bought the box sets.
Of the three brothers it was comical to find out Lucan was the Dad of a 13 year old daughter hybrid. Elise hunted Lucan down to give him the news he was a Dad. She wasn't sure how he would take the news. The spell had been broken and he was finally free and was planning on making up for lost time. HAHAHA yeah that's not going to happen. Lucan did NOT want a Mate, he did not want to be tied down. For 13 years he was trapped in a spell along with his brothers and kept in gargoyle form except if there was danger. But when he meets his daughter who by the way isn't to enamored with him his life changes. Not only meeting his daughter but meeting her Aunt who happens to be the sister of the wicked witch that cast the spell. Yep Lucan fell and he fell hard but he fought it tooth and nail until her didn't.

Now he has to find his daughter Marguerite who has bolted after finding out he has a dad. So we have a half witch half gargoyle teenager running amok a deadly witch that isn't dead just crazy and at the same time he is falling for the sweet little witch that brought this all crashing down on his head. Will they all survive will they get a HEA you need to read to see.

Lucan and Elise
Thirteen years of being captured and Stone this was a harsh lesson. Lucan was behind the cause of curse even though he did not expect his actions to provoke the witch.
Elise is a caring witch looked over by everyone in her coven as her magic is just average as compared to her sister.
This is a cute story about breaking a curse and revealin secrets held from a period of time. Can the actions of the past be wiped away with no lasting harm done to family and friends? Will the biggest surprise give you your welcome or an unwelcome one? I will say the surprise was totally unexpected.
I have enjoyed reading the underground series so far and I look forward to Mattias' story soon.

I enjoyed the story of this gargoyle and his brothers who were cursed by a witch and now are free. Lucan also discovers he is a father and finds his daughter's aunt very attractive. Elise was always overshadowed by her sister and struggles with the attraction and whether it is right to pursue it.
You can understand both of their perspectives but they really make a good couple. They had great chemistry. I really liked Elise and admired her desire to do right by her niece. It is a well written story that is part of a series but could be read easily as a standalone.

This book may be part of a series but you can read it as a standalone, although I do recommend reading the whole series, it's too good to miss. The storyline is very good, the characters were so well defined, the action is fast paced and the chemistry is really hot! I love the mix of characters in these books, nothing is as you would expect which makes this book and the others in the series a joy to read.

Gargoyle love
Gargoyle, good with, bad witch & a female teenager. Haven't we all been there? Lol. There r times I could use hiding as a tone formation because I didn't want to deal with anything. Story & characters flow but isn't there always a bump in the road in love. Hello, bad witch with the dark side. Oh & she's the good witches sister. Love will hold out inthe end. Would recommend to friends. Thanks, Ms Carlisle. Bring us more, we have long winter notes coming. 😉

This was a fun and interesting twist in the Bad Alpha Dad series. Love it when things unexpected pop up and the look on the men's face when they find out they have a child. It was the perfect story because everything didn't turn out perfect to begin with and there was drama. Love it when they have to work on making things work. Hope to hear more stories.

A really enjoyable steamy paranormal romance. It is funny, witty, and emotionally deep. It is well written; the storyline is compelling, engaging, and exciting. Lovable characters; the chemistry between them is instant, intense, and off the charts. A really amazing read and comes highly recommended.

This is a very enjoyable gargoyle shifter romance. An exciting and fun plot, likable characters and hot chemistry are blended into one terrific read. With plenty of emotional turmoil, drama and some very big twists, Lucan and Elise's book is simply a wonderful shifter romance. I am voluntarily posting a honest review.

I liked this book. Had a strong hero, dark magic, good magic and finding strength when they needed it. Has a good story line, HEA and more to come! Yes, I recommend Inflame, it’s a great read, not short and just long enough.

Lucan was a great character and was cursed by a witch. Elise was also a great character who was a witch and the sister of the witch that cursed Lucan. Add in a daughter that Lucan didn't know about with the normal attitude of a teen. Plenty of story with some steam made this a great addition to the Underground. Loved it! I am voluntarily reviewing an arc I received.

I loved it. A fun, sometimes adventurous and always romantic story. We get to read the story of another of the gargoyle brothers. We learn more about the curse that has kept him and his brothers in stone for thirteen years. But something else happened thirteen years ago and Lucan is about to have a very big surprise. Can the man who doesn’t want just one woman change his ways?

This was a quick read that had some really steamy scenes. It was enjoyable because of the fantasy aspect of having one of your husband's friends. This was a well written book and it was very enjoyable. It gives you a different look in a relationship.
