I thought I was going to lose everything, but I’ve been given a second chance.
I have three months to prove I can control my powers. This time, I am going to have to do it alone.
The…incident…at Homecoming left the New York Academy of Mages reeling. I don’t mind that Whitney fears me, so long as it means she leaves me alone. But I don’t like the feeling that my best friend might be beginning to become afraid of me as well.
They aren’t the only ones acting strangely.
The principal is suddenly acting on my behalf even though he was the one to try and get my powers stripped in the first place. Draven says he’s out of the mage crime syndicate for good, but even I know that those kinds of organizations don’t let mages like him go. Not really, not ever. I want to believe that the affection Flynn is showing me is genuine, but instead I get the feeling that he’s keeping a secret from me.
Even Kendall is acting distant and brooding, and I don’t know why. Cedric is the only one among them who’s acting normal—until I suggest his father’s uncharacteristic kindness might be rooted in something sinister.
There are plans at work here that I am only beginning to understand. Even now, with everything I know, it may already be too late.
ADAPT is a young adult/new adult paranormal reverse harem romance novel. It is the second in the Forgotten Affinities series.
This is a good seamless carry on to book.two. Octavia and crew continue to get into more trouble as the plot thickens. Heading straight onto book three.
This book was mind blowing!!! I'm glad Wednesday got her paired but I definitely feel bad there in the bad guy's hands now makes me want to cry right along with Kendall!!! I hope they get them back and I hope they'll all be alright. This book left me in complete shock with all the surprises! I can't wait to read the next book I loved it!!!!!!

Although I have had my issues with the age of the characters. I still can’t help but love this series the suspense and tension that you watch build and unfold has you on the edge wanting more. I can’t wait to read the next book. I would recommend this book to those how are new to the reverse harem and even the ones who are seasoned readers of them this is a muted but still good.
Badly written, I kept falling asleep every three or four pages, and I skipped almost 10% of it cause it was repetitive dialogues and infodumps. It's a pity cause the story has potential. the fmc could have a better personality as well, especially since we are kind of stuck with her whiny inner voice for the majority of the books
See my review for #1 I'm also adding that the guy sideline stories were confusing. I feel like there are different types of bonds she could have with them. The "I'm dating all 4" didn't work for me. The multi-narrative was inconsistent too, which is off-putting. The actual story is so, so good. Just disappointing to see the mechanics of the writing need a boost.
None of the issues from the first book have been corrected. I was hoping for better from this book and this author, but sadly I think I'm finished with this author and her work.
