Hoodwives & Rich Thugs of Memphis
After years of being heavy in the streets, Jacques, Sencere, Ramello and Trayvon decide they’re ready to settle down and start families. The only way their wives are willing to start families are if they walk away from the street life for good. The four of them decide to wash their street money by opening multiple businesses but when Shonda is deeper in the streets than they’ve ever been, trouble surfaces. Imani, Malika and Brandy try and keep their relationships together but when lies, sex and extortion is brought into play, maintaining their marriage seems harder than ever. Jacques really loved his fianceè Imani, and he was ready to become a family. Imani sometimes had her doubts on if Jacques would continue to be faithful, since in their past, he haven't always been. After Imani found out what her cousin, Brandy's husband, Sen, had been doing, it made her even more insecure, especially with now being pregnant. Will she go through with marrying the man that she loves, or will just settle on being a fianceè?
Brandy is Sen's wife, and was definitely living up to his name, living in sin. Sen had gotten so comfortable with sleeping with women, that he had been doing it right in his place of business that he shared with his boys; Jacques, Ramello, and Trayvon. At the same time, even though, the boys tried to warn him, he was a grown man, and was going to do what he wanted to do. Now when Brandy has the courage to find out what her husband is doing, it knocks right on her doorstep. Will she hold her husband down, or will she walk away?
Trayvon adored his wife, Shonda, but for the life of him, he couldn't understand why she couldn't walk away from the drug business. If only he knew that his wife was in farther than he could've ever imagined. He needed Shonda to know how much was at risk, or if his friends found out what his wife was doing, he would have everything to lose. Trayvon did a favor for his wife, and it almost cost him his life. He talked to his wife, and gave her an ultimatum, it's either she gets out, or else.
Shonda is educated, talented, business-savvy, but she's ghetto as they come. At first, Shonda didn't want to get out, but when her marriage is on the line, she soon changed her tune. The thing is that her brother, Jaleel, is making it harder than it has to be. Shonda feels like she's in between a rock and a hard place. She knows that her husband isn't playing with her, and Tray and her have so much to lose. If they don't find a solution to this mess, then it could cause havoc not only in their marriage, but drag the people that they're into business with into it as well.
It seemed as if Malika and Ramello were the only ones that somewhat had their ish together, but Ramello had a history of being unfaithful as well. These men have some good women, so they need to get their ish together before they miss out on the best thing they ever had.

Decent
This actually would have been a five star read but there were many grammatical errors. The Author's kept getting some of the characters name mixed up. However Imani need to check her insecurities if she plan on marrying Jacques. She chose to forgive him for his pass infidelities and stay with him but I understand after witnessing Sencere being trifling behind Brandy back. I can see why she thinks "Birds of a feather flocks together". Brandy is naive to Sencere bs. He really had her thinking he could do no wrong until he got caught up by Imani and Malika. Shonda is hood as hell and although Trayvon love her. He just wants her to tone it down some. Shonda better get herself together though because she may end up losing her husband and her business partners if her secrets comes out. She told Trayvon she was through with certain dealings but lied. Malika and Mello seems to be the only couple that doesn't have any real drama. Malika just want's one thing from Mello and is having a hard time getting it.

Love it
Sen is trifling bell. I feel it for Brandy but she needs to put on her big girl panties and leave her husband. Cheating is one thing but when a baby is in the picture, it is time to call quits on that marriage. I also hope Shonda doesn't lose her husband for lying to him about getting out of the game. I love Imani. Mailka is something else though. I can't wait for part 2.

Well! Well! Well!..Now Brandy has a lot more to think about, but I feel bad. Who wants to know and feel betrayed by someone who suppose to be your best friend and support as your life partner. Wow I'm stuck on sens trifling behind!!!!!ylthis was a great read it kept my attentntion from start to finish. Shonda is slowly growing on me as for Sen I so dislike his shady behind at the moment. Part 2 can't come fast enough. And if Brandy stay with him in the next book I will disown her 🤣.

Good story!!
This book started kind of slow for me. I enjoyed it once it got started. Shonda is not one of my favorite characters and neither is Sencere. Shonda is too ratchet for my liking and Sencere is a cheater. I like Imani and Jacques and their relationship. I can hardly wait to see what will happen next.

Soooo Good
So I recently started reading the books by Cole Hart and the ladies under him. Let me tell you I have not been disappointed. This Hoodwives and Rich Thug books just get better and better. Forget the contest, the books are a reward in themselves. I cannot wait to read part 2 to see what happens.

Brandy finally opened her eyes. I wanted to choke Sen out at the very beginning. Her girls tried to tell her, but she had to find out for herself. Sen also got careless. It's like he wanted to get caught. Now what is Brandy going to do? I can't wait to see what's going to happen.

The book was ok .The plot was good and I loved how it was carried out. These girls didn't play when it came to their friendship, their men and their business. The only problem I had was the grammatical errors was to many at some point I got confused but I figured it out and kept reading to then. Anyhoo Good Story.

Imani is something else and boy do she have a mouth and attitude on her. Sen need to get it together but the grits about to hit the fan. Shonda brother is on some shady stuff so I hope Shonda don’t get caught up in something she can’t get out of. Well ob to the next part

Kevina Hopkins has become one of my favorite authors. This books was enjoyable like all of her others. I’m not big on spoilers so I’ll keep it simple. This is definitely a must read along with her other books.
