A group of teens goes for a hike and changes the world, but not in a good way. They accidentally start the zombie apocalypse, which gives them a head start in preparing for it. So how do they prepare for an onslaught of the undead, CDC, military, and more undead, in roughly that order? How do you prepare for the zombie apocolypse? How do you provide food, shelter, medicine, and safety to your family and friends, and who do you include in that group? How do you decide what new outsiders to let in, or do you refuse entry to all? They have a lot to figure out and not much time to do it.
This is not a bad story but it is light on substance. It feels almost like a story outline over the actual book itself. All in all, it is an easy read. I just wish there was more to it.
An unusual take on the beginning of a zombie apocalypse. Underscores less often thought about planning concerns. Story moves along well. Some teen angst prolonged.
