+2 stars: Oliver Wyman delivers another knock out performance in this volume in the audiobook edition. He conveys terror, dread, betrayal and isolation so well. There were times during his performance I got choked up. Remember this is a tie in novel for a very stupid video game with a stupid premise yet he elevates the whole thing.
+1 star: Carly Ann West's prose continues to impress and impact.
+1 star: I knew it I knew it I knew it but I can't believe they actually went there!!!! The Ending of this book reveals whether we've been in a kids version of fight club, the omen, or saw and ho-boy you will not be disappointed by the answer.
+1 star: BOX STACKING SIMULATORS NOVELIZATION STAYS TRUE TO ITS ROOTS WITH INTENSE BOX STACKING ACTION.

This was an incredible conclusion to this story. Throughout this book tension between characters was at an all time high and they were pushed to their limits. Great book.
Unexpected ending. When I first started reading the series, I thought it was a mystery and crime genre, I totally forgot (slipped my mind) it's horror as well. In horror stories, you can't see what's coming. I enjoyed the series, and I discovered that there is a book 4 and 5, so I'll try reading them in the future In Sha' Allah.
You can say that Nicky's stubbornness and determination to find his missing friends took him to many lonely and twisted turns. In this book he goes solo, none of his friends believe him anymore. His journey just got harder and harder, and you can only feel for him.
I don't know if there is more to Nicky's future; I guess I have to continue reading the series to find out.
I like the mixture of horror, solo investigation, scattered evidence, and mystery mood the novel combines.
I didn't enjoy this book as much as the previous ones only because I found the lead kid a pain in the neck. He was always going and doing exactly what he shouldn't. Over and over again. And he forever brought up investigating missing friends to his current friends and it was obvious they'd had enough.
But this book is based, I guess, on a video game (never played it) so this is probably what happens in it. Which is fine, but I didn't appreciate it in the book. I'll continue on with the series as I get the books but this one was a clunker for me.
Really good book! If you have played the game Hello Neighbor, it explains a lot about it. It ends on a huge cliff hanger though and in the fourth book it doesn’t start from it, so hopefully the fifth book explains more from the third.
The mystery of the Neighbor is revealed... after three books.
While book one dumbed things down and book two showed the dad as a complete Psychopath, this one... attempts a slight redcon.
This is gaslighting the book. The MC is gaslighted throughout the book for really odd and nonsensical reasons, we discover that the books themselves were gaslighting the reader regarding the Neighbor. All to stretch this out as much as possible without adding anything to the narrative.
The book ended on a high note for sure but that doesn't cancel out the 200 pages of confusion, unpleasantness, and emptiness that led up to it.
I wish I could give this a 3.5. It was better than the last one but I still found it frustrating in a couple of areas. I wish they would answer some questions- not all I get it is a series of books- but the never ending circle is starting to wear. My kids said it is starting to reflect the game now so they liked it.
why i picked 3 stars well there wasn't any excitement or not enough i should say and the story isn't really interesting... why someone else should read this book well if you're into like stories that keep you wondering about what happens go for it. what would i change in this book to be honest the ending and the build up to it builds to a cliff hanger just you don't know what happens.
I realize that this is a middle grade book, but I find myself missing detail. This was cute, and perfect for a middle schooler, but there were a few spots that read strangely due to missing details. I was three pages into a chapter before I realized that they were talking about a building and not a fence. That sort of thing.
Okay so this book is the definition of meh its a basic but kinda good plot and REALLY REALLY CORNY. The book is good but really cringe it says the cringest jokes tbh there not funny. Though thats my opinion the best part of the book is when they made there company E.M.U It was funny when there were making the name. If you like hello neighbor get this book!

I have to say that I was really excited about this book and holy hell did it blow me away and I feel so bad about Nicky at the end but I would recommend the book to everyone who likes hello neighbor and a creepy atmosphere to the book
This series was creepy and weird and didn't end the way I expected. Andrew enjoyed it but I felt it was well above the reading level of the intended audience.
