THIS BOOK WILL BE AVAILABLE IN AUDIOBOOK ON THE READ ME ROMANCE PODCAST DURING THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 17.

For the last two years Miko Riley has mourned her husband, a famous, bestselling novelist. While grieving, she put her heart and libido on ice, but she’s finally thawing. And who better to bring the heat than Adam Stone, the editor who secretly harbored feelings for Miko, but missed his shot years ago?

They’ve always been careful to ignore the connection, the attraction that flared between them. Now that they’re both hot, hungry and single, careful is the last thing they want to be.

They’d rather get burned.

4 stars!

This was my first time listening/reading works from Kennedy Ryan and I must say that I really love her writing style. It's hard to put a lot of character/story development into theses short audio novellas from Read Me Romance podcast, but I feel that KR did a great job with this one.

Miko has discovered a manuscript written by her late husband, who was a famous author, and things are brought to light that were hidden in the past.

I loved the chemistry between Miko and Adam, it was full of unrequited love and friendship.

A great listen if you are looking for something short and sweet.

I listened to this on the Read Me Romance Podcast. It was okay, but like many of these, there isn’t really enough room/time to build a foundation for the characters. They knew each other previous to the beginning and that helped some. There is a bit of a twist here that was nice in a painful for the heroine kind of way. I did enjoy the hero. Any time the hero is all about the heroin then I’m gonna be all about him. I would definitely recommend this for a quick read that’s got a little more meat than most novellas.

I listened to this on Read me Romance and I quite enjoyed it, although I wished it was a full length story, I feel like there were a lot of unanswered questions.

I love the idea of romance books through my spotify subscription but, I cannot lie, the prattling drove me completely nuts. I only wanted to hear the book, not the chatter. Sorry, I realise I'm a miserable cow but there you go.

Okay, it’s official. Romance is my guilty pleasure. This book shouldn’t be something I like... but I actually like it.

What’s it about?
There’s this woman who was the wife of a very famous and talented author until he died. She’s been having a hard time dealing with it especially since their marriage wasn’t going so great when her husband died. She decides she wants to get back into dating now after her husband’s been gone for 2 years and she just so happens to run into a very attractive man that worked for her husband’s publisher.

Pros:
The story is surprisingly pretty good. Maybe it’s partially because I have dreams of working in the book world so stories about authors and the book business kinda make me excited with thoughts of that but I actually did enjoy this story.
The characters are pretty interesting. They’re very well written and I cared about them throughout.
The romantic stuff is cute and sweet.
This book can often be very emotional.
The narrators on the Read Me Romance podcast are very good at this (they usually pick good narrators).

Cons:
This plot is extremely predictable. Okay so one twist surprised me but that was it. For the most part it’s exactly what I expected to happen.
The dialogue is very cheesy and bad.
The ending is anticlimactic and kinda stupid. So something major happens but since the story is almost over the characters just kinda go “meh shit happens, time to fuck” like... really?

Overall:
I was torn between giving this 3 or 4 stars. I enjoyed it and there are more pros than cons so I’ll say 4-stars. Keep in mind if you don’t like romance this is still definitely not your book, it’s been a guilty pleasure of mine recently and I’ve been having quite a bit of fun with it so yeah, I’m gonna go ahead and say it’s good for romance fans which I think I might slightly be now!

4/5

Another week, another new-to-me author courtesy of the Read Me Romance podcast. I really enjoyed this little introduction to Kennedy Ryan. While the story itself was just 5 short chapters, it was very much a slow burn. I really loved how this story wasn't all about the sex and anticipation, but focused on the feelings Miko and Adam had buried and how a betrayal can bring everything to light.

This book was filled with plenty of drama and tension. The chemistry between Miko and Adam is palpable but they have to navigate through their feelings to get to an HEA. I loved listening to how everything played out. Adam was the perfect balance of cocky alpha and vulnerable, I see the appeal Miko, I really do. Their relationship is filled with trepidation at first and that made it all the more endearing. And when they finally come together, cue the swooning. It was delicious and I will now be adding Kennedy Ryan to my TBR list!

An overall good novella. I felt the characters and plot were well developed. There was a certain thing about the deceased husband that we learn that I didn't particularly care for so I'm subtracting a star because of it. I also liked how a reference to the TV show "Martin" was worked into the story.

Sweet and Swoony in all the right places!! I typically don’t read anything about widows and starting over, but this was so good!! The end was both a little shock and yet totally made sense!
Andrew is a marvelous leading man! Another hit from RMR podcast!

This is my first read (listen) by this author and I was impressed. For a short novel it had depth.

The writing was good though there were a few repeated phrases that seemed like mistakes. They weren’t read like the character was placing emphasis on the repeated phrases. Whatever it was it took me out of the story.

SPOILER

I normally don’t like reads where we bash the dead as an excuse for future actions, but this one straddled the line and I didn’t mind it.

END OF SPOILER

Overall it was a cute read. I think it could have been
more without the declaration of love of both parties. If they had truly been friends over the years instead of friendly acquaintances, I might have bought the love declarations.

But yeah, I could read more by this author.

The narrators. The female was great. The guy would have been great too if not for the gasping breaths in between lines. It was distracting.

Read Me Romance Podcast Novella....

First of all, I liked the narrators in this story. Also for a novella the reader was given enough details to understand who the charters were to each other, and you can see how the relationship between Miko and Adam came to be. The whole novella progressed nicely.

This has been one of my favorite podcast from Read Me Romance so far. I loved Adam and Miko so much. This is a quick story, but it was emotional and steamy and had a bit of friends-to-lovers and forbidden romance and I loved every moment of it!

I am loving this podcast and the stories they are sharing!
Happy listening!

Sadly not my favorite and I love pretty much anything Kennedy Ryan writes. I didn't feel the sexy or connection between Miko and Adam. Miko is a widow that is living in her husband's shadow. When Miko decides to get back out into the dating world, she finds out disturbing news about her husband and someone close to her shows her the truth.

This specific video review will be included in the December 2018 wrap-up.

This was a free audio book on Read Me Romance podcast! I love those ladies, and this book was interesting. I liked the HEA, but felt there was something that added a little bit of unnecessary drama. Other than that, it was short and sweet.

Swipe is one of my favorite Read Me Romance titles so far. Which isn’t at all surprising because I flipping love Kennedy Ryan. This novella was sexy, but it was also substantive. And did I mention swoony? I loved Miko and Adam’s story.

This is such a beautiful romance. Adam and Meeko have undeniable chemistry that could never be acted on until now and the depth of this book was written so well in such a quick read/listen. I loved how things played out and would definitely read/listen to more from this author. <3

Good premise. A widow and family friend/agent dance around each other. I didn’t really buy these two together. So this was just ok for me.

Really sweet novella about a widow finding love again (with unrequited love finally be requited--bonus!) I was a little bummed that not only was her original marriage rocky beforehand but she also found out something negative about it later (personal pet peeves, I know--but it seems like such an easy way out!) but the overall cuteness of Adam and Mika (sp?) made up for it.
