An Unexpected Desire

Rate this book
Anais King has the perfect life. She’s married to the man of her dreams, they live lavishly, and she doesn’t have to lift a finger, or want for anything. In her eyes, life can’t get any better.
But like the saying goes, nothing lasts forever, right?
Unexpectedly, Anais learns some secrets that her husband was keeping, and it shatters her heart, and turns her world upside down. She never thought in a million years that this would happen, and now she’s left feeling betrayed and heartbroken.
That only leads her to seek comfort in the arms of the next man, Koi Kane.
Koi is a reckless, careless, impulsive man, and he doesn’t care about what flies out of his mouth, or whose feelings it hurts. Once he lays his eyes on Anais, he knows he’s found the woman of his dreams, but she doesn’t feel the same towards him.
In this romance, will Anais fall for Koi’s smooth talking, or will she stay with her husband even though he’s broken her heart?

This book is a lot!

First, be aware that there are some trigger warnings in this book: SA and DV.

This book was ignorantly entertaining forsure. Unfortunately, all the women in this book go out sad behind men who obviously do not want them. Most of them are begging the man to choose them. Aside from Nay, but even she admits she gave Koi too many chances. Also, none of them know how to handle their emotions without getting violent, and most of them are near 30? Sad! Montana, although trifling af, was a big comedic relief. This author is new to me, so I actually read Dangerous Desires before this and cannot believe that Summer is still around! I must be glutton for ignorance, because I’m too invested and need to see how Montana’s story ends, so yes, I will continue with that next book. Ultimately, I only rated this 4/5 starts because there was no trigger warning and some grammatical errors. Also, more than a few colorist remarks. I mostly read black contemporary romances, but I can still appreciate the Wahida’s and Keisha Irvins, so if you like Urban fiction romances, then I would give this book a 5 star, because the author most definitely hit her mark with that.

A wild ride

This was a crazy wild ride. So let me sell you on reading this without giving out plot. This book is urban lit at it finest. The story was unique, it was sexy, it was humorous, and it was ghetto! Outside of the main couple there where two other couples and a host of side characters. None of the supporting characters made the story convoluted or long suffering. The pacing of the story was great. The sex was fire. The dialogue was funny. The relationships were toxic!!!!! I really enjoyed this long read. Trigger warning for violence, murder, and sexual assault. This was a good read.

Toxic as hell but enjoyed every moment of it

I think every character in this story were nutty but some where on different levels. Nay definitely had a lot happening all at once unexpectedly. It seemed like drama was coming left and right from all angles with all the characters. The ones who took the cake for me were Summer and Montana. They are the epitome of toxic though I thought Andrew and Levi were just as bad as them. This story is one you won't want to stop reading to find out how much crazier things will get for the characters

Unexpected but Enjoyable

Unhinged and Chaotic.
That's how I'd describe every single person in this story. and I loved every single minute of it. Every time I thought I hated a character they did something hilarious and I couldn't hate them anymore. The story could use a little more polishing tho. There were a few simple errors (like putting the wrong character's name when they weren't in a specific scene or simple grammatical errors) but that's easily fixed and they don't take away from the story.

I liked it

I liked it but the craziness was at an ultimate high! It got to a point where I just wanted these ppl to sit down and take a look at how they were acting. Levi gave me second hand embarrassment on multiple occasions lol. Great character development because I was not fond of any of these characters for like the whole first half of the book lol. 3 stars because there were multiple noticeable errors and some even detracted from my reading because I had to figure out what was written. Overall, decent story just a little too crazy for my liking.

Loved it ❤️

I knew this book was going to be good from when I first started it. Kat did not disappoint me at all! Levi is my favorite character for sure. I still gotta grow more love for Koi, he keep doing f**k boy s**t so we going to see how he turns out next. Anais definitely has a good heart even though she portrays herself as a person who doesn’t gaf. That’s why she’s in the predicament she’s in now 😩🤦🏽‍♀️

Awesome Awesome Read

Oh my goodness. This was a fire read from beginning to end. The story flowed and held my interest. These characters are off the chain. Levi does stuff that I would do and I love her. Anais is my girl and she is a trip. Koi and Montana are both bae but for different reasons.

Great read

I’m late to this series but so glad I found it! Koi is such a character. Pretty, rugged, a boss, disrespectful but I Stan for him. Gotti and Tia deserves each other and whatever comes next after the bs they pull. Levi is so interesting. I dont know what’s gonna happen with her and Andrew !

toxic af!!

This book stressed me the fuck out . But I couldn’t put it down . I felt like I was in a toxic relationship with this damn book! Every relationship in this book will have you so sick of it. It will also hold you hostage because of all the twists and dramatic turns. It’s was good but after reading I feel like I need a mental cleanse !

Sigh

This book dragged on for over 600 pages
Way too many point of views
At some points it felt like unnecessary drama for no reason
I literally had to force myself to read the whole book..
It was definitely spicy but I would not read it again
