Abandoned at birth, Rebel has been raised by the men of Hellion MC. Happy and successful, living the life she’s chosen outside of the MC, everything changes when her mother surfaces on her 30th birthday, desperate to forge a relationship with her daughter.
All is not is as it seems.
Duplicity and betrayal threaten not only everything she holds dear, but her very existence. Forced to decide between the mother she’s always wanted and her MC family almost destroys her.

As Ava says: “I took a chance and followed a dream when I wrote my first book. It was scary, challenging and hard work, but above all it was worth it.”
“We’ve built love, hope and a promise of a brighter future. We’ve built family.”
A milestone reached and everything is about to change for Rebel as her past comes back to alter her future. Having been left on the doorstep of the MC where she was conceived in a moment of rebellion Rebel has been raised with love and a deep rooted feeling of abandonment. Successful but wary of relationships Rebel has to choose to let down her well constructed walls when first her estranged mother turns up and then a handsome stranger finds his way into her bed. Both unexpected and unusual Rebel has more to deal with than she realises. With the support of her MC and her dads can Rebel face down the approaching storm?
This is a heart warming read as one woman tries to understand the past whilst another tries to safeguard her daughters future as best she can. The loyalty, brotherhood and sense of family shines through as the MC faces dark times, they stand together and work as one to defeat their enemies. Rebel is central to the dynamic and embraces her roots whilst facing the challenges of her past. A well written fast paced intriguing story interspersed with a hot love interest who has a story of his own to tell this is a fantastic MC story with a difference.
This is the first book in a new MC series so I wasn't sure what to expect. If you like the more violent edge of the spectrum In these books this mat not be for you, it's definitely alot more gentle than I'm used to.
The main focus of the story is Rebel who was abandoned at the gates of the MC as a baby and brought up by the guys. I liked the family feel, I always see this as a plus in MC stories it's what I imagine them like taking care of each other. I felt the actual story was interesting and the writing flowed easily from chapter to chapter.
Two things that negatively impacted on my rating are Rebel's age. In the story she's just turned 30 but I felt like she came across more like a young woman in her late teens or early 20's. Her actions and the way she's treated by her dad's just didn't fit with a woman of 30. The ending was just too quick, I wanted more about how certain things were resolved it just felt rushed.
In conclusion this was a good start to a new series I'm hoping with book 2 we see more of the darker side of the MC.
What a great read from Ava Manello. Rebel isn't the type of story you would typically expect from an MC read but that's what I liked about it, it was different to others. Rebel centres around a strong, independent and sassy female and held my interest from the very first page.
When Rebel was abandoned outside the gates of the Hellion MC Club House as a baby and brought up by bikers and their families she had no idea that on her 30th birthday her mum would show back up in her life and shake it to the core. She has no idea how to react where her mum is concerned and when things start to spiral out of control she has to make a choice that could force her to lose everyone she holds dear.
I loved reading Rebel and I'm hoping there is more to come from the Hellion MC in the future.
This is a different take on the usual MC story in that it does feature the typical MC stuff, but it is mainly the story of a young woman who has been raised by the club since her birth.
Rebel is a feisty young lady whose various dads dote on her. They want only the best for her and would give their lives to protect her.
Someone from Rebel’s past returns and this brings with it danger, as they are keeping a dark secret from almost everyone.
I loved the introduction of Chris as it added a different element to the story. Chris is also hiding something from Rebel, will she survive the truth if it ever comes out?
Loved the story and I can’t wait to see where the author takes the characters next. Huge thanks to the author for providing a copy.
Rebel had a great life despite having being abandoned by her mum as a tiny baby, 30th birthday and that goes to pieces. Things start spiraling in different directions good and bad, suspense and violence start to escalate. This book grabs you in the heart with the first page, then the plot kicks up a gear keeping you gripped and on the edge of your seat for the rest of it. I loved these bikers and I loved Rebel. Exciting, emotional and a bit of a roller coaster, great story that has a few twists up its sleeve.
This book came to me as a suggestion in an email I believe. You know like when you get emails from Amazon for the kind of books you like when the are on sale or for free. And being that I'm a Huge MC reader and love reading new MC books and finding new to me MC author's, I thought this one looked interesting to me. Now being honest here the cover is actually what drew me into this book. I didn't even actually look at the synopsis before I started reading it. So I wasn't sure what I was going into when I started reading.
Now that being said, I will say this now looking at the synopsis. This really isn't you typical MC read..... If your into the darker kind of MC reads or the other stuff that usually happens in MC reads. Than this one is probably not for you. This is definitely on the lighter side of MC reads. I will also say and try not to sound negative (because I dislike negativity in reviews and I just don't write negative reviews) but I'm not really sure this book actually qualify's as a MC book and I'll tell you why at the end of this review. Now onto my actual review of this book....
Rebel is a young newly turned 30 year old woman, who was abandon by her mother as a baby at the gates of the Hellion MC. Now on her 30th birthday her "Mother" mysteriously turns back up on her doorstep at the same place she left her. I liked Rebel, I thought she was a sweet and likable character. I think the thing I liked the most about her is the obvious love she had for all of her "dads" and especially the love she had for Jackson. Though at times I found her to be a bit too trusting.
I wasn't sure if I was going to bring up Chris's character or not. I mean I felt bad for the dude and how he was being treated by his father. But I just kind of felt like he was just thrown into the story as an afterthought and that Rebel needed some kind of love interest. I also didn't understand how a Grown Man could let his newly found father force him to do so many things. I mean I get it, he needed help for his ailing mother. But still he was supposed to be this grown man and he's letting his father force him into basic servitude, it just kind of seemed fishy to me.
Overall I did really enjoy this book from start to finish. I actually had a hard time setting it down, because I was enjoying it so much. I really thought that Rebel and her "dads" were enjoyable in this book. There were some twists and turns and drama thrown in. Now I'll tell you why I have a hard time calling this an MC book, although there was an MC aspect to this book as Rebel was left at an MC and raised by her "Dads" that were all in the MC, that's about it as far as the MC aspect of it goes. Now here are a few of the issues I had with the book: One, I kind of felt like even though Rebel just turned 30, she didn't really feel like it. Her character seemed much more younger than 30, maybe mid 20's or something. Two: As mentioned above I kind of felt like Chris was thrown in as an afterthought, like Mrs. Manello realized, "Oh geez, I need to throw a romantic relationship in here at some point." and thus came Chris. I don't know I just never really felt that connection between Chris and Rebel. Other than that I did really enjoy this book and I can't wait for the next book in this series.
Well hello debut author Ava Manello! I loved this motorcycle club, the Hellion MC. My husband rides motorcycles and I get a bit miffed at all the crap tossed at these clubs. They aren’t all out there looking for the next piece of club tail. They aren’t all hard and mean men. This shows a more realistic side then most of the MC books I’ve read. Now, I like them but I was just pleased pink with this one! The realness of it just seems to make the story way more believable and with that... way easier to get into and enjoy! There’s a sense of family, of comradery that you don’t see in most MCs. They’re generally out for the individuals not the club. The Hellions all stick together and help each other out like a family would do. I think this was what really drew me in to Rebel’s story.
I liked Rebel. She was a strong woman and knew what she wanted. There were several areas in which she acted way younger than her 30 years. Her maturity level seemed to go in and out but I can see how that could happen when she has several acting fathers. It’s easy to become a bit spoiled, even at 30. It’s the only life she’s known. All of a sudden the past rears it’s ugly head bringing out secrets and some danger.
The secondary characters in Rebel were just fabulous!! I want so much more from them... and Jackson was just the sweetest!! We definitely need more of his swoon in the next books. Manello’s writing was great. Once you start getting into the meat of the story it’s nearly impossible to put down. It’s fast-paced and has just super characters! There’s fun, there’s sexy, there’s humor and love... it’s a great start to a series!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
4.5 stars - This is the first book by this author that I have read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Until quite recently I steered away from reading MC books but I've found that the more I read them, the more I enjoy them.
From the blurb we know that Rebel is abandoned at birth by her mother and is raised by the Hellion MC. I have a huge soft spot for Rebel - she is a character who has the most fabulous personality and even though she struggled to come to terms with being abandoned, she knows her own mind and what she wants from life. I absolutely loved the club set up and the members who were in it. The support that they give their own was lovely to see. Jackson is a huge favourite of mine, and you really do need to meet him to see just how special a person he is, as I did.
This book was a real page turner. I wanted to know what was going to happen next and didn't want to put my kindle down until I had found out. It is angsty and heartbreaking, but it also made me smile lots. A fabulous read that I would totally recommend.
This was my first Ava Manello book but it definitely won’t be my last. She knows just how to draw out the suspense, killing you with second guessing and worrying about how the story is going to pan out.
Rebel isn’t your average MC book, for which I love it even more. Manello has taken a popular genre and made it absolutely her own. It didn’t follow the usual MC tropes but instead carved its own path with characters you couldn’t help but love, a villain you wanted to see die slowly and painfully, and a storyline that kept me guessing from the edge of my seat right until the very end.
It’s a cleverly told story with separate threads all weaving their way together for an explosive ending. I’d definitely love to see more of these characters. Jackson is alllllllll kinds of swoony and I’d love to see more of him along with several of the other characters! I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to read more of this lady’s words.
The ease at which the words flowed had me reading this story in one sitting. A gentler take on an MC story, there was still danger lurking and Rebel’s sassiness and charm shone throughout. Her world is turned upside down on her 30th birthday, new relationships are forged and her MC family are a force to be reckoned with when evil intentions threaten their own. A great cast of characters and I loved the softer, gentler side of the relationships between them all. Can’t wait to see what’s coming up next in this series.
Wow, ok I'm not a huge reader of mc books. For some reason they don't interest me, however after meeting the author last weekend and chatting about this book I decided to take a chance and read it. Boy am I glad I did! I loved the fact that this was not your typical mc story and that it was a bit more gentle, however the story and the suspense plot line going through this book was amazing and it had me totally in its grip. I couldn't put the book down till I had finished. This was my first book by this particular author but it definetly won't be the last!
This was not your typical MC read, but that does not take away from how great of a story this is!! It was very entertaining, has a well developed story line, perfect characters, twists and turns, mystery and sexiness. Once you start reading this one, you won't want to put it down!! I'm so excited for this new series and can't wait to see what the next books bring to the table.
Loved this book. Rebel was everything, loved the story. Loved how her dads looked after her, but also liked how the story brought her mum back to her even if it was under such hard circumstances. Highly recommended readf.
tbh i just found this book incredibly boring and i don't read mc biker books to be bored. i forced myself to finish it and skimmed the last few chapters just to get to the end.
there were so many blah and meh moments. not least it doesnt even tell you or describe or make it an issue that both Chris and Rebel's mother lied to her as part of the conspiracy which lead to an mc member being murdered. wtf? she's not angry at either of them? no it just skips a year ahead at the epilogue. sorry but that just doesnt ring true at all.
this is a mills and boon watered down version of a mc biker book. the sex scenes faded to dark, there was zero chemistry between the two mc chris and rebel. so much wrong.
nope, wont be continuing with the rest of the series either.
i don't even thing this author knows a thing about bikers to be honest.
As a new to me author Rebel was the perfect introduction. This story is very emotional and comes with the very best HEA. Rebel was abandoned by her mother and left in what turns out to be the capable hands of Jackson and the Hellion MC. She's a strong, independent woman thanks to all of her Dad's. Forgiveness, understanding and love play a huge roll in this story and thanks to her upbringing she finds she's able to do just that when her mother reappears. This is really a beautiful story and the characters are absolutely fantastic. "We’ve built love, hope and a promise of a brighter future. We’ve built family."
So this book left me with a we questions like did he just get off about free and now she doesn't know that he was working for the far man because that's not right it should have come out in the story. It also had he going with the moher at the end . I thought this book wasn't going to be much and it took me awhile to get into it but it's not acrue MC romance as such for me sorry
Firstly I'll have to say.. I LOVE this cover! How eye catching and attracting is it?? This is a great MC read but it's definitely different from all other MC stories that I've read before... but that's definitely not a bad thing! Rebel has grown up with her "dads" at the clubhouse but her life flips around when her mum comes back around again and the surprises don't stop there! Look forward to reading more from the Hellions!
Rebel is the first book in the Hellion MC, a new series written by the talented author Ava Manello. I absolutely loved this book. The plot has family drama, suspense, secrets, danger, great characters, romance but over all not your typical MC story. Love the chemistry between Rebel and Chris!! Can’t wait to see what’s coming up next in this series.
This is by far one of my favourite MC books. Rebel is such a strong, fierce lady and I felt every twist and turn in her turbulent story. I love that you see a different view of the MC lifestyle, with a focus on the camaraderie and loyalty of family being more than blood. I felt Rebel’s adrenaline through the tough times which made it impossible to put down! Just loved it!
Loved this book I got a bit frustrated when she couldn't accept that her life was in danger she was a bit naive considering she had grown up in the MC but a really good story that had me on the edge of my seat until the end
Wow this book was amazing was glued from the start couldn't put it down once I started had to know what was going to happen if you love mc books then you must one click this book its a must one click looking forward to reading the next one
This is different from the usual MC stories, but is a thrilling read all the same. This is a well written story which had me intrigued and hooked throughout this additive page turner and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
This is not your typical MC story. There is brotherhood and violence but only when it’s warranted- the violence that is! I did feel we could have done with a bit more of Chris and Ro’s backstory but that’s being picky. I enjoyed this .3.5*
