The Emancipation of Emoree

Rate this book
I assumed it was the start of nothing. But, the way that his existence validated my senses, I quickly learned that it was the start of something. From the moment my eyes rested on him, the gravitational pull was inexplicable. It wasn’t that I ever wanted to explain, either. Not to my mind. Not to my soul. Not to my heart. And, not to my lungs that possibly wondered why I had been deprived of more oxygen since the day he’d walked into my room than I had in my entire life. Because, then I would have to conjure a hell of an excuse as to why I was combating every follicle that summed up my own existence, beliefs and morals. Unfortunately, I had none. Not one. All I knew was that I’d been captured by the husky beast and the eagerness to be saved had failed me. I wanted to be here. Right here. And nowhere else in the world would suffice.

Wow

Interesting read about old and young couple who started out as student and professor. Emoree liked him but didn't want to be seen with a younger man but he made her fall for him by distancing himself from her to make her feel it. I loved how he still followed her to her parents even though he beat her there! I hope their is more to their story maybe babies.

This story was truly amazing I'm so glad that Emoree came to her senses and realized that love finds you at all stages of your life no matter what age... I love happy endings so I'm definitely overjoyed

— Reverse age gap? Professor and student? I love me Ransom and he love him some Emoree. Emoree never stood a chance when she encountered Ransom.
— Emoree’s family was trash. My girl wanted freedom. Ransom was her emancipation.

I usually don’t like age-gap stories, but this was good. Ransome didn’t take no ish, but I also understood Emoree’s hesitation. I hope Grey gives us an update.

Grey never lets me down. A very quick read but it was still a good story. I loved Emoree from beginning to end. I loved how she told her students that "Nothing is hard unless you proclaim it to be and we don't do that. Not in here." Powerful words! I also liked how Ransom knew what he wanted and he got it. One thing I've noticed about Grey's books is how some of her characters have sex in the workplace or the building of their workplace. Which makes me so nervous and puts me on the edge of my seat because I'm always scared that someone will catch them. I don't mind it but I be sweating bullets during those parts of the story. I also like that Emoree and Ransom had a significant age gap but that didn't bother Ransom at all. Emoree really got to stick it to her family at the end when Ransom proposed and by the end of the story I wanted more. I hope this isn't the last time we see Ransom and Emoree!

I’ll admit, I quickly selected this book because I thought it was apart of the Eisenberg series and that this book was the beginning of the next generation’s storyline. That wasn’t the case, but the book was an interesting read nonetheless.

The Emancipation of Emoree , by Grey Huffington, follows the story of Emoree Evermore who is burdened by expectations of her family and the realization that she isn’t happy with how her life is currently going. An unexpected meeting of the two main characters, Elmore and Ransom, morphs into a forbidden romance between the couple. Not your typical romance, the couple takes the reader on a steamy ride while Emoree decides if following societal norms is worth more than her happiness. I would definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a quick read that includes a strong alpha male love interest, and touches on relationship taboos that go against social norms.

The Emancipation of Emoree
By Greg Huffington
Well Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Ransom let me use you😫. Babyyyyyyy Ransom was more than Emoree could handle. That young bull was showing her some things,  you hear me?😂 He was a arrogant SOB and had every reason to be. Smart, comes from wealth and packing! Had poor Em losing her damn mind! None the less, Ransom definitely emancipated Em from the bondage that her family expected of her. MAKE NO MISTAKES, Em was definitely giving Ransom the business just as well🙌🏾

Grey Huffington!

What can I say? This lady came on the scene and gave us some amazing stories. And this one is no exception. Emoree wasn’t expecting to be swept off of her feet, but that is exactly what happened 22 year old Ransom Montreal walked into her classroom. Although there was a 14 year age difference, he was able to give her everything that she needed. Ransom knew what he wanted and wasn’t afraid to go after it? Loved this book from beginning to end. 😍

Awesome Read

I absolutely loved this. It was such a refreshing read despite Emoree making want to shake sense into her for denying her young king. There's grown men in there forties who still act like teenagers so age doesn't make a man a man. I loved me some Ransom. He knew what he wanted, pursued it and ultimately won his prize. I hope to seel more of these too in the future. Oh and I loved the banter between Ransom and his granddad.

Loved it ❤

I loved the fact that Ransom knew exactly what he wanted and who he wanted when it came to Emoree. He made it be known that his age ain't nothing but a number and pretty much guaranteed that he'll treat her better then somebody her age. The last part was the best when Ransom pretty much shut Emoree momma and sister up. Great read Grey couldn't have ask for anything better.

Well I'll be

Wow, that damn Ransom he is something else while Emoree was doing what some women do and that is stand in their way of their own happiness. Always thinking about what others think about them and what is expected from them but Ransom wasn't having that shhh.. I really enjoyed this short novel I wished there was more of them two. As always can't wait to read Grey's next novel.

2 stars ⭐️ 3 🌶️

This is probably my least favorite of this author. I didn’t like either mc when I think about it long enough. He was arrogant as fuck and hella mean sometimes too and she wouldn’t say shit about it. Just let him say it. He called her “pathetic on the low” or some shit like that and that wouldn’t fly with me.

2 stars for the smut and that it was a quick read. Like 120 or so on KU.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, but honestly wished it was longer. Emoree and Ransom were just what I needed to get out of my reading slump. A good age gap always brings in the feels but an older woman and younger man just makes me so giddy. Ransom is the definition of "if he wanted to he would." He was everything Emoree wasn't so the balance was top tier. Would definitely like an update on these two.

I definitely want more of Emoree and Ransom. The cat and mouse game with an older woman and a younger man had my emotions on a roller coaster.
Typical older woman thinking a younger man can’t do anything for her, but I don’t blame her. I love how Ransom was proving her wrong. He could definitely feel what she needed, and even though she was denying it, she knew he was right. The sex was spicy.
The short story definitely could’ve been a little bit longer. Maybe a part two is needed.

The Emancipation of Emoree

I loved this! I think I too need to be emancipated! I so need a Ransom Nigel Montreal in my life! He knew what he wanted and he got it. Age is really just a number. The maturity level of this young man was just awesome. He was just what Dr Emoree Nevermore needed!

Yessss! Phenomenal!

At first I was kind of skeptical of Emoree & Ransom actually being together, but boy was I wrong! He was young, but the interest he showed in her was so fierce. I loved how he did whatever made him happy with no regards for anyone else’s opinions or feelings. As long as both of them were happy then that’s all that mattered to him. I loved it!

She does it again 🙌🏾🙌🏾

Ransom literally just stole my heart.😍 I only wish i could find a love so pure.💜💜 ! His character was EVERYTHING! Age doesn’t define maturity, that’s for sure! Emoree knew she needed that love. Happy she wiped the frown off her mom & sister’s face!

This story was sooo good, it’d be a shame not to update us in the future 😩🙌🏾

This story was the perfect length, as I'm finding that a shorter story thrown in to the mix of my reading list balances out my reading habits.

While the biggest obstacle between the two leads put me off a bit, in the end they just made sense. And other than quite a few editing issues, it would have earned more stars. It was definitely a good read though!

The Emancipation of Emoree, held my attention throughout the book. I love these characters they weren't one dimensional. They were so real and human. Grey Huffington through Ransome and Emoree told an wonderful story about being true to yourself. Enjoyable story.😊

Nice

Nice short sweet story. Em needed to get her life together like for real for real. But I did understand that we do live in a cruel world. However when we stop thinking about what others say our lives tend to get better. Glad Ransom was a no nonsense kind of man and set her straight. Job well done. Until next time❤️

A good age gap, both were actually grown. Emoree had me kind of worried for a second there like girl stfu. You keep telling this man who has it all together that you were old enough to be his mom. Like let this man fuck you and take care of you. She was kind of annoying up until the end when she popped off at her sister. The proposal was so cute. When you know what you want you go get it.

This was one hot page turner

I finished in one sitting. Ransom and Emoree were scorching hot. I loved their story and how they each grew because of the other. Very short, but definitely worth the read.

WHY DID THIS HAVE TO BE A SHORT NOVEL???

This story was everything!! I loved how Ransom knew what he wanted from the beginning. It would be nice to see what and how their relationship/marriage unfolds.

Ransom

So I stumbled upon this author reading shorts about Solar and Nahzir and fell in love with the characters. Now here I am with Ransom and Em feeling like I need to become a professor so that Ransom can waltz into my class.

So upset

So not fair! I’m so upset it’s over! I needed more of these two. Their relationship intrigues me. I wanted to know what her families deal was. So upset! Fantastic story though
