With their nightmare at the hands of a serial killer behind them, Jack and Will are determined to give each other a perfect Christmas. As the countdown to the big day begins, life continues on with all its little ups and downs, laughs and tears, as Jack searches for the perfect gift and Will makes plans that will change everything for them.
Surrounded by friends and family Will and Jack do their best to have the kind of normal, loving Christmas neither of them has experienced in a long, long time. No matter what kind of Christmas they have, though, they both understand that as long as they are together the day will be perfect.
When the big day arrives, Jack receives a gift from Will he never thought possible, one he didn’t even know he wanted and the last gift he will ever need.
Karrie lives in one of Australia’s sunniest places with her husband and three sons, though she hates the sun with a passion. She dreams of one day living in the wettest and coldest habitable place she can find. She’s been writing stories in her head for years but has finally managed to pull the words out of her head and share them with others. She spends her days trying to type her stories on the computer without disturbing her beloved cat curled up on the keyboard. She knows reads far too much, but can’t seem to stop herself. Saved is her debut novel.
Very cute story about the holiday events that transpire between couple Jack and Will. Jack is a touch OCD about his Christmas tree and will can't help but use that to his advantage. The laughter continues throughout the month where they each try to shop for each other while keeping their gifts a surprise for the big reveal on Christmas day.
I always love a holiday add on book. You just get a quick glimpse into a couple that you fell in love with and get to see them interact one more time during a very special, loving season. This one was great. The writing was just as you would expect from Karrie Roman. Lighthearted and fun, this was a treat!
Although I did not read the previous book where Jack and Will meet, this holiday story stands perfectly on its own and I really enjoyed their antics. It is obvious that they love each other a lot, would do anything to make each other happy, and even tolerate each other’s quirks without too many problems. But trying to figure out what to buy their new lover for his first Christmas has both men just a little rattled – much to their friends’ and my amusement.
A sweet story of two men who have been through so much both together and apart try to find some normalcy for their first holiday season together. An enjoyable read with real characters and a wonderful storyline. I will look to read more by this author.
