Let's just say LOVE BURN is NOT one of my favorite Ashley Antionette BOOK , but I did have fun reading IT and atleast it held my ATTENTION from beginning to END . LOVE BURN really shows YOU how nigga's ain't SHIT . However, A couple of the twist and TURNS I was not A fan of . I just HATED to see A nice PERSON like Naomi go THROUGH so much but I LOVE the way, MERCI step in and LOVE her WITHOUT conditions.

It’s the ones you love the most that do you the dirtiest! Noni went through so much in the name of love. Dom constantly cheated on her with several women, but most hurtful was her best friend, Tat. Not only did he cheat but he got her pregnant and named Noni the godmother! Dom didn’t realize how good of a woman he had until she left. Then he wants to fight for her.

And the HIV scare… 🤯 Tat was just that grimy.

Thank God for Mya. She was truly ride or die through it all. I wish more attention was given to Gram’s death. She was Noni’s rock.

I’m so glad that Merci and Noni got their happily ever after. They deserve it! He will definitely help her see her own worth.

This was a good book with heavy content.

I listened to this story on Audible. Books 1 through 3 were combined as one. Honey Jones' casual, almost sleepy, delivery worked. She delivered on her performance. It’s hard to put a lot of character and plot development in short stories. That statement remained true for this story. None of the characters had any particular growth from book 1 to book 3. This story said a lot and yet nothing at the same time. It was short on action and heavy on inner monologues, which felt like nothing more than fillers that took up 75% of the book. It was interesting to see how the HIV storyline would play out is that the author didn't rely on the typical drug usage or homosexual encounters which is always the go-to reason as to how someone has contracted the disease. Noni, the heroine, was a weak woman who spent much of her time proclaiming that she couldn't live without a man. She wore her thirst like a coat of armor. I didn't quite understand what was appealing about her to men. What made the connection between Noni & Dom so powerful? We were told about it, but I didn't get a sense of the why. Hmm, I'm on the fence with this story. I guess I still look for the "Cartel" level of writing that was delivered in the first book of that series. That was my first experience with the husband & wife duo and I expect that same level of delivery every time whether they collaborate or not.

Noni was insufferable. She was a strong, independent woman before marrying Dom. It took one weekend with a stranger to accept his proposal and remain loyal to his cheating ass for 5 years. I hate to say that I actually wanted Merci to leave Noni alone for her inability to make rational decisions.
If you want a good messy book that will piss you off, this is it.

Love Burn is not your average Ashley Antoinette story.

Noni annoyed me throughout most of the book. After all the things that Dom did she still kept taking him back! I love that she finally stood up for herself, but she still got on my nerves. Merci and Noni seemed like a good match. He showed her that he loved her every time he was in her presence. I hope she gets the baby and the husband she deserves from him.

Tat deserved everything that was coming for her, but for her to die at the hand of Dom completely shocked me! And Merci helped him!! I had to close the book and get my emotions together lol. Shoutout to Noni for whopping her ass! Twice. I personally feel like if Tat would of opened up to Noni about how she felt they could of worked on their friendship(before the messing around with her husband). *We all need a friend like Maya*

Im not happy that they killed of Gram. I wasn’t ready for that.
I would of liked to know if Josiah and Dom ever crossed paths again. What happened what that side of the story? Will Merci tell Noni about the deal with Josiah?
What’s going to happen with the IRS and Dom?(I hope he goes to jail)
Who’s going to take care of Thomas if he does go to jail?
I definitely need more!!!

I can't remember another lead character in a Ashley Antoinette book being quite as annoying as Noni.
This wasn't your typical Ashley Antoinette book. This was heavy on interpersonal relationships and not "The Game" with relationship happening at the same time.
Noni meets Dom and instead of playing her and ending her life (to a degree) by planting drugs on her and setting her up? Like he usually does with women he meets... He throws his girlfriend at the time under the bus. His version of love. I guess. I'm curious as to why that girlfriend was never brought up again.
What follows is Noni being put though the wringer by Dom. Being cheated on, him cheating with her "friend", Dom and her friend having a child together. HIV, her falling for his friend.
So numerous other women and an HIV scare and you are still contemplating what?
You survive being hit by a car and try to kill yourself because of a man? OK.
It was readable. Just not juicy page turner like usual.

Love Burn follows Noni and Dom navigating through their relationship as they navigate through the ultimate betrayal of trust and infidelity. At first I was upset with Noni because she kept going back to Dom, but I realized that as a woman we don’t want to see another woman reap the benefits of what we have invested. I don’t think she was actually in love with Dom, I think she as in love with the idea of him. Being with him filled a void. Or maybe she did love him but at some point fell out of love and stayed with him to fill that void. I don’t see how Tat was allowed to hide that secret for so long and Noni not know. The shade girl was giving her the entire book. Dom is too arrogant for his own good (must be a Leo lol). Mercy was just “guy”. I enjoyed it the second time around! This was a re-read for me.

I really didn't into the book until about page 20, it was slow at 1st. It didn't disappoint though, the story had a great ending. Many lessons were learned and everyone ended up with what they truly deserved.

This book reminded me so much of messy Messiah and Meek story line/friendship. It was a lot going on but I’m glad Noni came on top at the end.

This book was full of twists and turns. My Heart broke for Noni because you can be the best person in the world and still get the short end of the stick. Dom was so trifling, always pushing to see how much more he could do. So glad Mercy was there to show Noni what real love was. He healed her in so many ways. This book was heavy but nonetheless 5 well-deserved stars.

Noni and Merci deserves each other. I’m glad they have a happy ending. I would suggested you to buy the full novel book. Worth to add it to your collection. I hope Dom realized he really lost a good woman. I’m also glad Noni see her worth. Took a good while. Good read.
