My favorites were:

Shout Joy!
he cannot be caught
he cannot be known
nor his knowledge escaped
the light of his Name
blinds the brilliance of stars

Medusa - Great piece on the tragic Gorgon.

The Winter is Cold, Is Cold
The Winter is cold, is cold.
All's spent in keeping warm.
Has joy been frozen, too?
My heart beats slow, beats slow.
What has become of joy?

This book that shows her incredible range as a poet. They range from amusing (The Dragon) to poignantly mournful (To A Long-Loved Love) to brief and dense (The Birth of Love). L'Engle shows her deep affinity for winter and the Christian season of Advent that are particularly beautiful as well. I simply love this collection of poetry.

This book took me a while to meander my way through. I absolutely love Madeleine L’Engle, and I was excited to learn that she had a book of poetry. She is a master of words and an artist at making them flow, her poetry was very reminiscent for Mrs. Which in A Wrinkle in Time - and her poetry is deeply religious. Take your time digesting her poetry, it is not to be rushed.

I really wasn't a poetry person when still in my youth (thank heavens I got over that!), but one book of poetry that really quite stuck to me was this one. It still does. Simply fantastic.
