Lily thought she had her hands full with her conflicted feelings over her quickly progressing relationship with Arruk’s wild twin, Drrak, the uneasy truce with the tribe leader, and trying to prove she’s trustworthy to a people who want nothing to do with her. But all that pales in comparison to what’s coming. When Lily and her mates are sent into the forest to investigate the intruders closing in on tribe territory, they find something so horrifying it shocks Lily to her very core. But more than that, it pisses her off.Driven now by the need to protect a people not her own and to stop the monsters that hunt them, Lily gathers the tribe to her cause, enlisting them to help her. But will they be ready in time or will Lily lose everything in the fight for survival?Tribe Protector is the epic finale in the Chosen Series.

Re-reading just because! Most stories end too soon for me, which is why I love a series with the same characters. Watching this RH relationship evolve and deepen, is such a treat.
Primitive alien world Reverse harem Slight language barrier Sweet/innocent heroes Strong/kind fmc Tails/Purring Matriarchal society
Sweet Drrak. Love his addition to this story.
“Me ha khalik.” I am home.
The blurb needs to be updated, as this is not the last of the series!
Book three was absolutely jam-packed with so much going on and I really enjoyed it. Lily is now living with her mates and their tribe trying to fit in and find her place amongst them she’s also gradually warming to the idea of accepting Drrak as another potential mate.
And Drrak is so bloody adorable and gruffly sweet he’s initially very tentative in his overtures towards lily expecting her rejection but he’s definitely a wild card and makes up his own rules he’s really not one for other people a natural loner or even traditions but to have lily as his mate he’s willing to lay all that aside. When these two finally do connect it was so worth all the tiptoeing and they definitely had great chemistry together.
So the outside forces we witnessed previously come to play big time in this third instalment. It’s all going on here and lily her mates and all of the tribe gear up for an epic showdown that will put everybody in imminent danger.
We get much more of Tor Arruk and Frrar also and I adore them all in very different ways but I’ve got to admit Tor holds a special place in my heart he’s just so goddamn incorrigibly cute. I also especially adored the addition of the family pet Trrak and thought he made such a fabulous addition.
The epilogue though I wasn’t sure about, not the adopting of the younglings that was fabulous but the heads up in regard to another male imprinting on lily, I just wasn’t expecting it and I’m not sure how I feel about it maybe because it was so unexpected and came out of left field. That aside this is a fabulous reverse harem series with plenty of heat action and imagination and it definitely brought all of the feels.
It's a good book and a good 3rd part of the series but I can't believe it ended. There are too many loose ends. What about her next mate, aren't we going to learn more about him? He imprints, she feels sorry for him, and then what? Also what about the 6 legged animals that someone is teaching how to hunt her people, what happens there?? And also what about all these reptilian aliens that attacked them what brought them there, are they native, have they been dumped on the planet like her? And what happens with her kidnappers in the first place? Do they come back? There are so many untied plot lines that I felt startled when I read that this was the last book. How would that work?
UPDATE So Stacy Jones makes a bundle of the first 3 books and then ties them with the TAKEN series, to do that she made some important changes to Lily's story. First - the missing female - Skaa she appears in TAKEN quite alive and will come back. So it makes no sense to kill one of her mates and make the other one imprint on Lily, so that is gone after the edit. We still don't know what happens with the flying guy, or who teaches the animals to hunt people but the author has announced she'd continue the story by expanding the universe. We get the answer from TAKEN to the origin of the scary aliens as the slave ships dumping the unsellable aliens on this planet.
I really enjoyed that the aliens were actual aliens and not just oversized humans.
This book showed how Lily interacted and protected her new tribe. Even though the series is over, it left way to many unanswered questions for the series to be over. Who is the strange creature training the pantari? What happened with Lily and her new mate? Is she able to have children with them?
Sitting here pondering this age-old question would you rather be feared or loved? Well, my personal answer is loved. Why is this a factor of a book review you wonder? Well, I'll tell you, if you give me a minute. Well better yet read the books you will get a better understanding of my initial question.
Without giving away any spoilers I absolutely loved our main character Lily or Leelee, and the intricate dynamics of how this story was written around her and four other male alien characters from a different planet no less. But if I had to critique anything about this trilogy is that there were some slow moments and a bit of redundancy in this last book but that was it. I don't have anything bad to say about this series not that I was looking to have anything bad to say but I'm just pleased as punch that I was thoroughly entertained.
So bravo Stacy Jones in a well written, very creative, and intriguing story. As I stated in my first review of book one I was completely surprised how much I enjoyed this storyline, and without fail Stacy you followed through to the end. So again Thank you!
The 3rd book is more action packed than the first two. They have to fight this unknown enemy that kills and tries to breach tribe territory. Lily comes up with lots of strategies to do that, as in weapon making, traps and so on. I found that a bit unbelievable considering the resources she had at her disposal to make that happen. She also had more tstl moments here which annoyed me quite a lot. Oh, a new addition to the harem is Draak , Arrak's twin. I liked how he didn't gave a flying fu@k about its of the rules. Gruff but a softie inside.
Overall was not bad , but that epilogue was so freaking unnecessary that I cant even. Should have listened to other reviews saying to skip it if you plan to read book 4 since its pretty spoilerish.
I have been waiting for this book. I couldn't wait to finish this series. I hate to say this, but I think I liked the first two books better. I was expecting a little more relationship building between Lily and Drrak or something. But the story was really focused on the danger surrounding them, and at the end of the book I was left wondering why? Why were they attacked? It didn't make any sense. What was the point? There was never an explanation as to why this group of aliens was hostile and decided to attack a quiet, keep-to-themselves species.
But those are my only complaints. I still enjoyed the books. Stacy Jones is very talented in creating personalities that are so likable. And she is great at sticking with their personalities. I've read reverse harem books where all the men are basically the same guy, no differences other than physical. But she really writes them so that they are their own person. I love that.
This is pretty much the conclusion of Lily's story with her awesome guys. However, I just saw that a book 4 so I'll jump right into that. The battle is pretty amazing but I wanted more details about the invaders. Who they were and where they came from. Still mystery about strange werewolf alien that's controlling the pantharis and the bird-man.
Sci fi reverse harem stories aren't for everyone. I think this series gets better with each new book. Lily's story seems done but I hope there are more books about Lily, her guys and the tribe.
The felt like a good ending, though it also felt a bit incomplete. There are questions left dangling, possibilities thrust out there and a potential new mate that is mentioned, quite literally, on the last page. I’m unsure of all of that - though the whole of the story was good.
So this was the last book. I have to say that I was a little bit disappointed. I thought there was gonna be a lot more story building upon the relationships of all of the mates. There are a lot of also loose ends from just the book in general. How all of the aliens got there? What happened to the fish people? What about the werewolf person? What's going to happen with the Pantari? Are there going to be more Aliens Coming?
I like how her relationship with Drrak became more significant. I was still really disappointed though because I felt like their relationship was rushed in this book. I wish it was built upon more. I did feel like she made the wrong decision by not accepting more mates. Especially the two that would have been very significant for their bond.
I don't feel like the war scene was needed in this book in order for it to be enjoyable. But because it's in the book, I feel like it could have been staged a little bit better. I think that there could have been something where all of them together saw something that would help bring all of them closer together. Maybe the War scene not drug out so far.
I felt it was a little bit ridiculous that she went out on her own to try to save the child. Her father was sitting right there. Also, Tor was instructed to stay with her and all of the children in the tree. I felt like he chose his mother over her. Even though she told him to go and help her, I think that all of his mates were trusting him to keep her protected.
I kind of wish that another flooding had happened rather than the war. It would have been interesting to see if the other alien animals would have had the same idea as their people to get to higher ground. And as ridiculous as this sounds, I still kind of wish they would have branched out on their own. While I realize that being in the tribe was safer her for all of them, I just wish that it felt like more of a home. It felt like she was still an outsider and treated like a traitor.
I felt like the epilogue was really rushed. I think that the building of more mates for their harem would have been a better story and more intriguing for me than having that whole war scene play out. Just my personal preference though.
Now time for the complete series review. I fell over all that the series could be around a 4 star. The reason I would take away a star is because of this last book. I felt the 1st 2 books were very strong and were incredibly enjoyable. I felt this last work was a little bit rushed and that the story line didn't really fit with the rest of how things would have went had there not been a war. There were a lot of loose ends that should have been cleared up. I felt like maybe there should have been more explanation as to how all of the other alien/animals would have gotten onto the planet without anyone else knowing. Also because the clearing was so close to the tribe, how she was not seen by other animals or even the other 3 guys that some sort of space ship dropped her off. I absolutely loved the relationship between her and the 4 guys. Especially when it was just the 3 guys with her. I do wish that they would have elaborated more on her choosing more mates. I think because of the situation that she was in it would have been beneficial for her to accept more mates. While I understand that she felt she needed an emotional connection to the mates, I think it would have happened for at least the 2 guys in the last book that she would have connected with. Since they were different. I also wanted to see if her relationship with the men had changed any aspect of the tribe as a whole. Whether the women became different toward the other men in the tribe.
Honestly, I don't know if I would read this series again all because of the last book. While I enjoyed the 1st 2 books so much, the 3rd book was a little bit too heavy on the drama for me. Only reason why I would even consider reading it again would be because of Drrak. I loved his character a lot. Or if it would have been focused on adding to her harem. I felt like there could have been different drama, maybe not a war. Maybe just another tribe coming to see the weird alien girl. The tribes were another loose end that I didn't understand. Because of the weird aliens coming to attack from the war, I would think that the other tribes of their same species would have come to either aid in the war that was coming or at least warn them of any type of creatures they saw. I just felt all in all that the 3rd book did not complete the story. I don't know if I would even consider reading it past when she and Drrak became an imprinted couple. Anyway, I know my review is long but I'm glad I read the series. I don't know if I will read it again but I did enjoy it.

Four stars for the writing but only three for enjoyment .....
I think a good title for this would have been to have borrowed from Shakespeare and called this “ much ado about nothing”.... Sorry may give spoilers 🚨 but not really meaning to.... What do I mean ?
Ok, well basically this whole book just about revolves around the ( in one way or another) approaching danger that something or someone’s out there getting ready to attack Lily’s mates tribe and their families ..... we get hints of this at the end of book two but thing is after 75-80% of build up in this book book we get one semi big battle in the middle of the night ( naturally ,right?) where Lily does some majorly TSTL things like just taking off in the dark ( where she can’t really see a thing) w/barely a weapon and just a over grown puppy/cat/ gator pup fir protection.... and that was disappointing because in until then Lily has NEVER been the TSTL type... She gets hurt( of course ) rescued by her mates, awakes a later in pain but ok they deal with their dead, have their version of a wake/funeral and then it’s weeks later their rebuilding, making defenses, puppy/cat/gator is the size of a small horse, they’ve taken in t children etc.... The End With ever knowing why the creatures attacked or why or where they came from or soo many other ?’s we are left wondering about .... Honestly I was left really disappointed and dissatisfied with this one..... in the first two books every thing of course revolved around Lily and her men/males/mates sure they were al, they had but they felt like a team but here ? The focus felt too split m half the focus was one these mysterious creatures and their impending attack and being ready for it and the other half was Frrar’s fears controlling him and him wanting her to take other mates and taking on Arruk’s twin Drrak..... And while I’ve always loved how sensible Lily has been things w/Drrak were dragged out entirely fir my taste.... I mean we came into this book knowing a)she was wildly attracted to him and b) her mates were not only ok w/taking another mate but were deeply hoping she’d take on Drrak to complete their family .... Soo why when she’s picking thru his huge mound of stuff, she’s completely clueless about him and what it means til days and days later when he again tried to “present” to her I do not know.... That’s the thing, Lily seemed a little slow her at times , suspicious and always curious but rather behind the curve from where she seemed to be in the first two books .... It’s weird if there were more books coming I’d almost just describe this one as a bridge to what is coming next ,deep sigh, but it’s not ... this is it.... And that’s just sad to me ,not just because I’ll miss Lily and her guys but Lily and her guys from the first two books not this ... No slight to Drrak, I wish he’d come across them before they made it back to the tribe to be honest or that they’d decided to stay out their on their own ... Why ? Because nothing really seemed to be gained by it... We never get to know the ‘tribe” but Lily and her guys while spending Talbots the whole Book either preparing to defend or defending the tribe, they never feel like they’re part of the tribe or get to know the tribe.... it’s always this feeling of us versus them even if the us versus them is a Lily vs the tribe .. No true feelings of connection were formed from what I could see til the very bad and then that was just a few paragraphs away from the end.... And with all the emphasis being on the preparation for battle and protection, we lost the emphasis it felt like on Lily her guys... They closeness we enjoyed and loved watching seeing grow in the last two books was over fun and eclipsed by preparations for a battle we never get to understand the reason for .... A battle that’s built up for the whole book, then it happens one night at the end ,then they survive and it’s over..... And I’m left feeling WTH ?!?!?!? Good series but honestly I’d only truly recommend the first two books, this one has last book let down for me... Thank you sooo soo much for Lily and her guys Ms.Jones, they were amazing ... But you just didn’t stick the landing for me sorry... Four stars out of respect for what you created but three stars 🌟 for enjoyment on this one....
This should've been the end of the series, but as you know, there's a 4th book and the author plans on writing more in the future. We'll see how that goes.
This one was entertaining. I liked the direction of the plot and how Lily and her aliens were progressing with their relationship. Drrak was a welcome addition. But I was basically done with this series at the end of book 2. It's gotten really repetitive.
Overall, average. I think book 1 might've been the best. There was mystery and intrigue and firsts with that book. Now it's all recycled material.
Would I recommend this book? Only if you're in love with the series. Other than that, I would probably skip it.
I really liked the addition of Drrak in this series and enjoyed the interactions between him and Lily. It was great to see how his character developed as he became part of the harem.
I also liked how Lily was able to bring her unique skills to the tribe to help them fight against the intruders, which helped her gain acceptance and even respect from the tribe.
The end was just straight up shit. It’s insulting to a reader after paying money, spending time reading for an author to leave me with so many loose ends!
I devoured this series - I almost literally read one per day, without pausing. Since I've read everything so fast and seamlessly, it doesn't make much sense to review them separately. Honestly, I'm not even sure if I really remember where, exactly, each one of these started/stopped.
This series is literally perfect for the moment I was on - nothing deep, but with enough going on to keep me interested, a nice and engaging writing, nice characters and a world that, even tho there's no deep explanation about, made sense. This was actually one of the things that surprised me more, I have the feeling the writer really though about the world and how it works. Like how the explanation of why the society is matriarchal with harems, or the reason of the flooding (it's not said directly in the text, but it floods when the giant moon is on the sky, and the only way the characters have access to water is digging to get to it, so it's not hard to understand that the huge moon's gravity is pulling the water out). The worldbuilding is definitely not the most important part of a book like this, but it was interesting nevertheless.
The characters were also very interesting. I really liked Lily - she was smart, determined, and approached things head-on instead of commiserating over what happened. Lily was practical for most of the book, having some moments of wallowing on certain things (which is why Drrak's arc was y least favorite) but trying to be objective that her situations wasn't the same as on Earth, so it wouldn't be fair to use the same moral code. All the guys are also very cool - they're all different flavors of the same thing. Arruk was the sensible one, Frrar was intense, Tor was funny, and Drrak was wild, but all of them were simps for Lily since the beginning. They all fell in love almost at first sight, and treat her like someone precious, always listening to her and not being pushy like some of these books can be. I really enjoyed their interactions and the way their relationship evolved.
Another thing that REALLY surprised me about this book is how Lilly act and interact in this foreign world. Some time ago I was talking to my boyfriend about how some monster romances remind me of intercultural relationships, and how both sides have to accept the differences, and this book somehow showed it very well. Obviously there are the physical differences that can be jarring in a monster romance, but in some points in the story there is also cultural differences. For example Lily wants to bathe while the guys just brush their fur with some plant, or the fact that smiling can be considered a violent gesture, to the whole way their society works. I find it really nice that they acknowledge and accept their differences, instead of trying to change each other, and find a middle-term of how they want to act even if it's not exactly how it's done in either of their societies. I also liked that even tho Lily came from a more advanced society and in fact help them with some things they don't know yet, she wants to accept their way of life while also having the freedom to keep her costumes at her home, instead of trying to force them into a "more advanced" life. Also the way she and the guys communicate, with a mix of both their languages at the same time, really reminded me of how me and my bf communicate and made the books feel more realistic somehow.
Now, this is not to say these books are perfect. They are not super deep, and there is some plot, but it#s not necessarily life changing. Things take some time to happen after Lily is abducted, and the way the relationships develops is a bit weird. She meets Arruk, Frrar and Tor, "marries" them without noticing, but understands it right away and it's okay with it. They get to know and care for each other during the first book and at the beginning of the second, she already loves them. Then she meets Drrak during the second book and until some part of the third one she's developing feelings for him but unwilling to accept it, while all these other relationships are fully formed. It almost feels like theres a book for the first three, and then a second book between books 2 and 3 focused on Drrak, when I would very much rather see all the relationships growing together. It felt out of character that Lily would accept three guys at once so easily,, and then question so much about the fourth one, and it was boring reading all her thoughts of should-I about Drrak. And the whole war plot at the end of the third book makes no sense: why would these different aliens get together and out of nowhere start a war with these other aliens that never did anything against them? While some things are not necessarily explained but doesn't interfere with the story, this was a big chunk of the plot that just makes no sense at all.
Still, I had a lot of fun reading these books. They really distracted me and made me interested in what was happening, even when it was not that deep, so it really ranked high for me.
There were still a lot of open-ended questions about the world and behind-the-scenes villains, but the alien harem romance was super cute, and I rated it 4-stars for that reason. Hopefully most of these are answered by the additional books in the series and spin-offs. ----- Ratings - completed series: #1 Chosen: ★★★★☆ #2 Tribe: Outsider: ★★★★☆ #3 Tribe: Protector (this book): ★★★★☆ #4 Native: ★★★★☆
drrak has been such a good addition to the story. i realized after i finished this book that there is one more in the series that is centered around lily. without spoiling anything, this book ended on a really good note and they they got their HEA. i saw that there was a fourth book that backtracks on the story with a new member, but i wanted to leave it here.
I was not happy with Frrar for a good portion of the book. I know he loved Lily and had his reasons but I was still mad at him. In the beginning Frrar kept meeting and making decisions with Akksha without consulting Lily first. It undermined Lily's position in the tribe. No other females had men speak and make decisions on their behalf. Frrar pissed me off when he brought unmated males to woo Lily without talking to her about it first. Frrar KNEW Drrak, Arruk, and Tor did not want more males brought in and he did so anyways. Of course it upset Lily. She was just starting to be accepted by the tribe and then had to turn down several guys who were given false hope by Frrar that she may mate them. Ugh! I was irritated when she easily forgave him and then screwed him.. meh. If the men Frrar foolishly and selfishly brought to her had imprinted, he could have possibly ruined multiple people's lives. He undermined her again when the battle started and without her permission and with her yelling at him, he left her with the women and children. No other females were there, just Lily. The other men were obviously in on it. I get they wanted to protect her but it was not cool! She should have been on the frontlines, with a bow in a tree, picking off enemies and looking for opportunities. She was the most advanced and smartest in the tribe when in came to these new enemies.
I just loved Drrak! It was sweet how he sacrificed his need for seclusion to be with Lily. His mating gifts were extremely thoughtful and proved he was just as observant as his twin. He was so good with their "pup". He will definitely make an amazing dad. When he initiated his mating proposal/ritual - flexing and moving his tail awkwardly, it was funny, yet endearing. I loved when Tor purposely taught Drrak wrong (sexual) English words when Drrak asked for his help in communicating with Lily.
Lily again proved to be a wonderful heroine. Time and time again, she proved her patience, empathy, intelligence, and bravery. The traps, weapons, and scout posts to hide and watch were smart. However, I wonder why she didn't use fire as weapons; fire arrows, bombs, etc. Why not use fire to light up the forest with torches to spot their enemies? How she interacted with the tribe while still giving her men respect was a tricky balance. She knew Frrar was trying to set her up with mates and wasn't having it. Even though she had feelings for Draak, she didn't immediately jump into the sack. She got to know him and gave him time.
Side notes:
I will admit, I did tear up at a couple of parts - when Lily first woke from her injuries and when the tribe had a ceremony for those who had died.
The battle in the last chapters was handled well. It was exciting and I couldn't put the book down.
Why wasn't language glossary in alphabetical order?
Another pic spoiler in this book ><. /sigh... Last book had pics with 4 males indicating Lily would choose another mate. This book had family pic so we knew 4 mates were chosen and the mates and pup lives. I was mad for most of the book. I wanted to be able to ponder if Lily would pick Lok or Rork But... at the end when Atuk became her mate, I was very surprised.
I found the epilogue a little disappointing. I would have like to have read another book in how Lily and Atuk got together. What happened w/ the wolfman and the pantari? What happened to the bird man? How did Lily impact the tribe long term? Did she have kids? How did her men react to her pregnancy and babies? What did the babies look like? Ahhh I want more!!! Overall great read. Will definitely try out the spin off series. Still love Tor and his obsession with Lily's eyebrow creatures. Lol
Update. I just started following author. She stated: "Just started writing Native (Chosen Series #4)!! Hoping for an early 2021 release" Yay!!

From accidental captive to confused wanderer to tribe defender
Lilly has had an interesting of it. Kidnapped along with her bovine friends Hoss and Gladys she was held in a pen with them on a space ship style pen for weeks until her discovery by the aliens that collected the cattle found her. Being a sentient being, and an illegal item to trade, they ditched her on a backwater planet and flew away. She was discovered by new aliens as she became severely dehydrated and collapsed and soon discovered that alien Christmas was actually their proposals. After surviving with her 3 mates in a cave during the flood season she was brought back to their tribe, as they discovered she didn't have one for them to go to- their normal custom. Lilly found a pantari cub and Arruk's brother and wound up collecting them, too. But the tribe Mother and the other females aren't so welcoming. With the missing Skaa whereabouts unknown and signs of hostile unknown aliens closing in on the tribe's location, tensions are high. And Pasha or no, Lilly is an outsider, not Shavari and therefore suspicious. Her ideas for defense may come in handy but Mother will defend her tribe against anyone, including a tiny human who's tied the life of 4 males to herself.
Spoilers ahead! Wow. I have been wait for this 3rd book for a long time now, it seems lol. I fell in love with Lilly's humor and resolve in book 1. I fell further when she defended her guys in book 2. Book 3 was fulfilling but also frustrating. I kind of hope for a book 4. Atuk deserves to be more than an afterthought. And the kids. And Trrak. And... There's still so much we haven't learned about the tribe. And the alien bird guy. And... See? We need these stories, and not from another tribemate's POV. We need Lilly's humor as she takes care of Shavari kids, with the aid of 4 males who have been outcasts and no fathering experience. Integrating the family as they have the stories hidden there shouldn't be a glossed over epilogue. But it was still a fun, and sad, wonderful wrap up to Lilly's adventures.

Part of a series, perfect for binge read feel good read
I just... I just can't with these books. I get that everyone loved them. I'm totally in the minority here. But honestly, would it have killed the author to hire a freaking editor????
Whole passages are repetitions of repetitions of repetitions. Paragraphs dedicated to bathroom procedures, to their movements through the trees (can you imagine if this was contemporary?? The author would dedicate entire chapters to taking a taxi in NYC, EVERY DAY). So much telling instead of showing - stop telling me about how awesome of an outdoorsy woman she is if she freaking has to take off all her clothes from the waist down when she needs to wee! Book 3 is so far suffering from "I invented an alien language" syndrome - no, you are not Tolkien, and no, not even Tolkien peppered his works with that much Elvish, a real bummer in my opinion. Book 2 had literally NO PROGRESS WHATSOEVER. The constant interactions between them, omg. I'm getting SO TIRED of reading about her kissing them, all the little quirks they have that have ceased to be loveable halfway through book 1 and are now TEDIOUS and BORING AF. It's always the exact same thing and does NOT need to be pointed out every single time! I do not sit around pointing out my husband's bizarre quirks to myself every time he does them! Then the heroine keeps becoming more and more Mary Sue... All the alien males want to be with her, she's perfect, she's a HEALER (TM), she can set traps, she makes weapons, she tames a freaking pantari cub, and I can go on and on and on. Please for the love of God hire an editor.
This was the conclusion we were all waiting for and it wrapped up fairly nicely with a happy ending. This story definitely had lots of action and suspense. There were seriously a few edge of your seat moments but there was also still plenty of romance, a few relationship type struggles, some sorrow and plenty of humor. And I feel like I still need more from these characters, their world, and the bird-man. Definitely would like to see the bird man get his own book where maybe even if these characters don't get another book or novella we would maybe be able to peak in on them through his story. So my only real complaint is first I would have loved just a little more time with Draak. But also there was one thing at the ending concerning her mates that to me just kind of felt dropped in there kind of like an afterthought with no real exploration of how it came to be or how it would be thereafter. Otherwise no issues and those weren't big issues really just personal preference lol. So if you haven't given this author a chance and you love it just enjoy sci-fi, alien type aliens, New planet kind of romance or stories in general I would definitely suggest this author; especially this series which for most enjoyment should really be read in order. Overall a good book that leaves us wanting to come back to this world and these stories (*cough* bird man *cough*) would recommend.
This is part of a series that must be read in its entirety, in order. And I don't just mean that each book is not a standalone. I mean, there's no real ending to any of these books. The author originally wrote a trilogy (re: 1 book with 2 random breaks), but there are STILL loose ends (HUGE ones) at the end of the 3rd. Then she wrote a 4th book based on a dream she had which STILL didn't resolve the loose ends.
Yet, despite this, I still rated the 1st and 3rd books as 4 stars. These heros are my jam: unwanted, unloved, dejected and under the impression they have nothing to offer a mate. Lily is able to draw them out and give them each a chance to be their best away from their ultra-judgy tribe mates.
Yes, this is a reverse harem. The first book introduces the world and our 3 main heroes. The second and 3rd bring in a 4th male and the 4th book brings in a 5th. For some reason it was easy to accept the 3 original husbands, but just weirded me out to add more one at a time. The complete opposite of most alien romances where the Hero is overly possessive.
I understand the author will be continuing this universe, which is awesome because we still don't know much about the fish a$$holes who stole her in the first place, nor the wolfman who seems to be trying to kill the Shevarii.
If you just consider the romance, it's completely swoony and adorable and I reread parts just for that.

This was a really good ending to the series, but I really hope it isn't the end. It would be nice to see the werewolf problem handled and to actually see the evolution of Atuk and her family. Just a novella could do it and make everything wrapped up and complete. That was just a short paragraph and it really wasn't enough and leaving the werewolf problem hanging wasn't a good move for a finale. Don't get me wrong, it's not enough to even remove a star for, but I think a few more chapters instead of questions couple abrupt paragraphs could having made it all so more fulfilling. It was still satisfying, just a little lacking at the end. The rest of the story was wonderful though. I don't normally like a new guy coming into a harem, but the way this was done and the way the guys encourage the right addition and in fact desire it, makes this a satisfying way to accomplish it without the weirdness. At least in my mind. A little reviewer complained "What about her first three guys? Just to push them aside." There was absolutely no pushing aside of anyone. Even y one of her guys are loved and adored and Gor plenty of loving! I was working died through the whole book after that review. Don't worry, that was not an accurate review and this is very much an HEA for everyone in the unit.
I loved this series so much, I wish it would never end. The only complaint I have is the epilogue. It was ended very hastily which sort of ruins it a little.
In the last book, one thing I personally did not like was how the reverse harem ended up being. Don't get me wrong I love Lily's guys but there were 2 other guys towards the end that, in the beginning showed signs of becoming part of her harem but were denied. I'm not saying she has to accept everyone, but it did get my hopes up and for me a great reverse harem is one where 1) love interests are introduced throughout the book (not just all at the same time) and 2) all love interests are included in the harem, or at least considered. Lily didn't even thank those two men after they saved her and her harems lives and she was quite rude to them as well by not even trying to see if anything was there, just focusing on the fact that Frrur wanted them there.
Spoiler --> Ok so this entire book was great, but the epilogue could have been a whole book itself. It seemed like a bit of a wasted opportunity to me. It introduces a whole new character as a love interest, Lily gets 2 adopted kids, and there is still the alligator thing on the loose. This all happened in a couple of words that just looked like the author summarized book 4 into. The alligator part wasn't even resolved.
