DNF… I cannot understand how there have been so many wonderful reviews on these books. I could not even get through the first book. The writing sounds robotic and the phrasing is staccato and abrupt. The characters have no depth and the story has no heart.

WARNING: The book blurb doesn't mention a SA at 22%. Also warning, I tend to vent when something is as bad as this one is. This is a train wreck of a story. It is almost all narration. The two characters interest me; it's a shame the execution is poor. I never feel any connection between the two although the author TELLS us how about it. Emerson is a very smart alpha female; Dillon is a man whore. Although after, what, one week at the company, and a few business functions and casual get-togethers, they are attracted to one another. Never mind the iron-clad no fraternization between partners or co-workers clause in her contract or she'll forfeit the money she made merging her business with them plus a 10-year no-compete clause. There's plenty of descriptions of how the women dress (that's important) (CeCe's hair, smokey makeup, long legs - you get it; then Hadley has the more traditional voluptuous figure, etc., but he only has eyes and a long paragraph to describe Emerson - a sight to behind yada yada yada). Emerson gets jealous about Dillon's girlfriends or the thought of him dating her friends. Dillon wants her; wonders what face she makes when she comes. Oh, but then there is a SA! Six months later, there's a chapter devoted to their golf game. Then his dad dies; then Dillon falls apart and becomes a raging idiot at her. Then he shows up at her apartment and she lets him fu*k her. Then the company has problems with corporate espionage. I guess this successful company doesn't have an IT dept that could figure out if they've been hacked. Then Dillon gets better. He has a connection with the Chinese Mafia, who helps him take down the SA videos and ruin Adam. Good grief. I can't believe people rate this higher than 2 stars. I skimmed the rest of this. So annoying after I drifted through all this that the author never reveals the identity of the mole! No way would I even open #2 in this series to learn who that is.

FYI: Book 1: Trigger - Date Rape Drugs

Strong successful women, that's what I like to read. On going Corporate Espionage. Book one: Emerson's amazing and Dillion is a jerk. He spends time with Emerson then calls one of his regular f**k buddies. They begin with a great friendship that grows. Then all hell breaks lose and things go sideways. Book two: Wonderful couple but both have things that blow up and makes things difficult. Besides the mess with SHN. Book three: Cameron destroys relationships and Hadlee wants love, marriage and family. Both have bad childhood issues. * There seems to be a conflict in the content. On page 624 his mom was driving his drunk father home when a drunk driver hit them and killed his mother. On page 685 Cameron states his father was driving drunk when his mother was killed.

Great read but very social

I enjoyed this series so far. Debating whether to continue. The socializingg is about the same in all the books, plenty of food wine and friendships . That got a little repetitious after a while because I was more interested in the development of the romantic relationships. I am disappointed that the mole wasn't revealed(sorry spoiler) and not sure how many books I would have to buy to find out but the endings were all very sweet
