My reign has begun. War looms in the distance. And danger prowls my court.
The crown rests light on my brow but weighs heavy on my heart. To marry a foreign king would break my heart, but to choose the four men I love means starting a war.
The battlefield is not my only fear. Danger stalks the halls of the castle and a darkness grows within me. Only with the steady guidance and firm hand of Septimus will my body and soul be tamed.
The only way I’ll survive to fight any war is by trusting Gwayne, Trystan, Caliban, and Septimus. But traitors hide behind familiar faces and caring smiles. I may survive . . . but will my heart?
Stone and Ash is the third book in the Magical Kingdoms and features a steamy romance between one woman and four men while they battle ancient enemies in this epic fantasy romance novel ripe with heat, action, mystery, magic, and above all else, love. This book has a complete story arc before a cliffhanger epilogue.
Book One: Stone and Fire Book Two: Stone and Blood Book Three: Stone and Ash Book Four: Stone and Iron.
I am so enjoying this series. I appreciate that the author has written four books in which each book focusing not only the heroine and the story but on one of her dragon-shifter protectors as well. For instance, the first book is told from Maeve’s and Tristan's perspectives, the second book is told from Maeve’s and Caliban's perspectives, and this book is told from Maeve and Septimus’ perspectives. This allows us to see Maeve's growth arc over all of the books and gives the spotlight to one of the men in each book. All this just adds to the richness of the storyline, the characters, and the world that the author has created. I thought this book started a little slow, as it seemed to be mostly just Maeve and the boys back at the castle adjusting to their new roles and having some amorous encounters for about the first 20% of the book. But after that, things heated up. Much happened after this point. There were definitely some twists and turns, and what a cliffhanger to leave us with! This book definitely dealt with themes of trust and betrayal on several levels. As always, I enjoy this author's writing style; it pulled me right into the book and the fantastical lives of the characters. I regret that I have just one book to go in this series, but I am looking forward to seeing the resolution of the cliffhanger as well as how or if the marriage will affect the relationships between Maeve and the men. I highly recommend this series, though I do suggest you start with the first book.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
So we continue with Maeve's journey. In the second book she defeated her brother and Elinor aka as "Queen Adete". Also in book two you learn of the betrothal to King Balo. This as you know does not sit well with Maeve or the guys. So now lets get into book three now.
So Maeve has so many decisions to make now that she is Queen of Caledonia. She knows that she is going to bring magic back to Caledonia and she is trying to not meet with resistance from her people. However, while she is navigating the politics she is also weary about the people around her. There are people out to get her and she needs to always be on her toes. She brings the Fae to her courts and announces that she is letting them back in which is a great move for her Kingdom. Obviously, we know that she has feelings for all her guys Trystan, Gwayne, Septimus and Caliban. In this book Septimus and Maeve finally break that tension and it gets hot. Whoa Whoa Whoa did not see him as a dominant person but it was definitely hot. That ending just about killed me. Why would you do that Marie Robinson. That was so cruel!!!
So does Maeve marry King Balo or choose another? What will push Maeve over the edge? Will she be going to war soon? So many questions were answered. The biggest questions are What will she do now? Will she let the darkness consume her?
I loved this book and highly recommend that you read this series.

Marie Robinson will take you on a magical journey with Stone and Ash, so you better clear your calendar because you won’t want to put this book down.
This is the third book of the A Magical Kingdoms series, and it has turned into my favourite of the series (so far). The storyline is epic with a roller coaster of emotions, steamy scenes and one of my favourite endings.
The further character development with Meave, Gwayne, Septimus, Caliban, and Trystan is just perfect, which makes me even more excited for the final book in the series - Stone and Iron.
If you haven’t read the first two books in the series, then you need to one click them immediately to start this epic adventure.
ONE EXPLOSIVE WONDER!!! Extremely intense! Marie hits the motherload, wraps it up in a big-o-bow and presents us with one mind blowing, jaw dropping, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping masterpiece blasting this bad boy to life beautifully. This baby showcases 100% on point realism, kicking up a churning vortex chocked-full of vexing circumstances and a slew of surprising events that keep you flipping page after page. Combating the trials and tribulations along with a bounty of plot twists and turns that fuse this bad boy together piece by jagged piece. Sparks fly as chilling danger, intense drama and thrilling suspense propel this bad boy to life beautifully. Throw in deceit, distress, intrigue and turmoil and you have the recipe for one block busting, prize winning dynamo. The characters are authentic, approachable and realistic with personalities and depth that blew this baby wide open and exposed in all it's glory. The scenes are so colorfully detailed and descriptive it gives the illusion you were right there in the middle of ground zero with them. Remarkable job Marie, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
I loved the first two books in this series and was thinking that there is no way that Marie Robinson could possibly keep it up. Well, she did it, again. The twists and turns in this book will give you whiplash, but in a totally sexy and enjoyable way. Maeve is growing in confidence in herself, her men and her new role as Queen. Trust is the biggest theme this time around and Septimus pushes all of their trust to the limit. The sexy times are great and my personal favorite includes hands being tied by our favorite Queen who has a go at some dominance. Spoiler, it's sexy. I'm going to go and have a nice cold shower to calm down.
even though you have not read the other parts ...... not such a big problem ...... the introduction to this part gives a clear picture of what happened before. And again the writer makes sure that you are on the edge of your seat with the speed at which the story continues. An attempt to kill Maeve causes her to work more with Septimus, leading to steamy sex scenes where surrender is central. Captivatingly described, tension continues to be increased and the cliffhanger at the end makes you REALLY want to read the sequel ..... Great series!

Third book in an intense story of one young woman trying to save her people and those she loves. The previous books brought evil from all corners. But we also had four handsome men who would earn the heart and love of a future queen. Those men would protect her at all costs as they used their skills and ability to shift to dragons. This book brings new evil and enemies. But Maeve will not stop as she tries to rule her land with a fair hand. Expect lots of intrigue and fighting with swords and magic. But her love of these dragons will always guide her.
This book had me at war with my own emotions. I was so proud of Maeve stepping up and doing what she believed was right for her kingdom. I also found myself both loving and hating Septimus. He was so distant and secretive, even if it was for all the right reasons. I like that each book shows us a bit more into the lives of each of the men. I can’t wait until book four to learn more about Gwayne. Plus, that cliffhanger? Why? I need to read the last book now!
“Stone and Ash” is the best installment so far. The storyline is maturing and giving us more intensity in the action, suspense, and intrigue when new enemies are brought into the mix. This book is definitely more steamy than the previous books as Maeve deepens her bonds with two of her harem. Definitely a welcome addition to the series. It does not disappoint!

King Author has Merlin and his Knights. Robin Hood has his merry men. Stone and Ash points to an important detail that surrounds a kingdom in danger. A kingdom is not rescued by one person but a team working together as one

This book is different than the others and I loved it! Yes there's still steamy chapters with a little 50 shades feel to some parts but the great part is the mystery. This book will have you wondering who to trust, saying OMG and as always leaving you wanting to jump right over to the next book!
This book shows us Maeve on the throne and the decisions she needs to make. Who to trust. She loves her guys. Tension rises between Mave and Septimus. Did not see the outcome happening but it was like 50 shades but better. Very nice read and the story and mystery is amazing.

Oh sweet jesus. This books keep getting better and better. Her been queen, the arranged marriage, so many scenarios... But Marie never disappoints!! Hot and steamy and full of twists and turns!! Cant wait for the next
Maeve faces a lot in this book. So many challenges and has to learn to truly trust in her Dragon Guard. I will say I also questioned one of them. The seed of doubt was planted so well. I look forward to book 4 to find out more.
-Female MC has grown into a strong and fierce woman throughout the series. She’s 21-22. -Multiple POV: Maeve and her 4 dragon shifters -Fae, dragons, royal secrets and politics, war -Steam is hot. Assertiveness and demands.
Beautifully written 3rd installment to the series. I’m stunned at the artistry with which Marie writes this story it is truly beguiling. I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment and can’t wait to read the last book! Thank you Marie!!!

Good addition to the series. It is just as full of action and twists and turns as the first two. And we get to see Maeve step up and do what is right for the kingdom. Along the way both she and her men get even more depth to their characters.
This is a heart pounding read full of suspense, action and fantasy. This is an incredible condition to Maeve and her men's story. I loved the twist and turn that keep you on the edge of your seat.
