Finley Taylor is the dashing ER doctor that any girl would want to catch. But she’s far from the type to settle down easily. A childhood filled with men coming in and out of her life left a lasting mark, with Finley unable to commit to anything except her job. That is until she meets Kai Temple.
Kai is a former Marine turned personal trainer to the stars. There is an instant attraction between them but with Kai entering into a custody battle over her younger sister, and an ex who won’t stay away, it’s more than complicated.
Can Finley finally commit to someone she cares about, or will the intensity of what’s to come send her running for the door?
Sherryl grew up in San Diego, California the youngest of three. She began making up stories as a teenager. Working for the State of California at the Department of Justice taught her the inner workings of law enforcement. Her first stories centered around law enforcement situations. She married her husband and had two children. She continued writing and attempted to be published. When an agent returned her submission for the third time she gave up. Always the romantic, the stories came with a vengeance after marrying her wife. Her biggest fan, (other than her mother) her wife, Tirzah, decided these needed to be published. First self-published then contacted by a publisher this is a dream come true for Sherryl.
5 out of 5! Full of heat, excitement, tension, drama, an awful family, from old favorites to buzzy newcomers and a great romance. I was flipping pages to find out what kind of trouble the main characters will get into next. Boy, do I love this incredible addictive series! Highly recommended.
This an nice read but in the scheme of the series it definitely wasnt my favorite. Not much really happened in this one and I felt the relationship between Kai and Riley happened too fast considering the background of each character. I also feel like it didnt really solve anything. The Kathy situation was peft hanging and really that was what I thought this would focus on. Then there is Kai's sister. The solution to her problem was solved rather quickly and felt extremely rushed. What I did like is that there was no sexual assult although that one scene I guess is considered assult so there is that but it didnt make me cringe like the ones from the series. Regardless, if youve been reading the series then you will want to read this one or you will be lost when the next one comes out. I'm hoping this is more of a set up for the next book in the series.
😮 what I just read this book in two hours and you leave me hanging like this.😂 only you Sherrly Hancock. I absolutely love this series. This book the plot flowed nicely, and the characters were beautifully written. I can not wait to read more with theses characters. I definitely recommend this book.
Based on the rest of the reviews, makes me think that I read a different book.
There were a lot of things that I didn't enjoy at all: even if the 2 main characters don't actually meet until passed half the book, they are pretty much "insta-love". I find it hard to believe that our character who is a player just like that decides that yes, she is going to stop seeing other people. I have no idea how many times they mentioned the cars that Kai owned, pretty pretencious. Seemed like bragging all the times that Kai sent commands to the dogs. Almost forget to mention that in the first 4% (read in Kindle Unlimited) of the book, we are introduced to at least 8 characters! I don't even remember 3 of them, and just some are really important to the story. Never really felt the chemistry between our two main characters.
Had the impression that was going to be a Slow-burn, but it was not.
I really wanted to enjoy the book.

I liked how she kept us guessing until the very end, there wasn't much physical confrontation when it came to the ex in this one, but there was much more focus on Kai and Finley's relationship, then of course we have the climax, which with Sherryl D. Hancock you never know when or how the climax and resolution will occur. This was another great read and another great book in this now long-running series. I will say there are more sex scenes than usual. Usually, she has one or two that are detailed, then the rest is implied sex, but this one took it up a notch. The sex scenes were also borderline erotica. I liked this and would recommend it, but it is a bit of a slower end than some others, it's not so much conflict with Kai's ex as it is the unwillingness for Finley to want to stay with her, for fear of her own commitment issues.
I'm able to visualize the physiques of the author's characters; especially the 'bois'. A well written story about family and how family influences relationships. Finley had some issues and Kai's military commander was a real bad person, sadisticly cruel, for Kai. The author makes me look for pictures of the dogs in this book. As the others, well written and exciting. Know I've been binging this series and I've yet to be disappointed. The setup at the end of each book introduces new characters and a new story.
I enjoyed this story and it was nice not to have rape or attempted murder in this installment. There were some grammatical errors that should have been fixed in editing, but I've seen worse. Overall I've enjoyed all the books in this series and after 12 installments I'm still looking forward to more.
Okay loved Kai persona her character reminded me of Jericho, and she's my favorite weho boi. I'm so happy for her and Finley. I love a good sisterly bond having 2 myself,Kai and Cassiana relationship was really touching. I am really looking forward to reading if Riley got the part.
I've enjoyed most of this series but this was not one of my favorites. It wasn't terrible but not all that great either. This one just seemed a little dull compared to some of the other books in the series. Many aspects were way too predictable. Even though Quid Pro Quo left me disappointed I'd be more than willing to give the next book a try.
Okay, this one was nice - subject matter was not so hard core that I enjoyed the development of this relationship. I kind of figured it would figure Dr. Finley on this one from where the last volume left off and I really liked Finely finding Kai and immediately falling for her, even if she did not want to admit it to herself. Still enjoying meeting new characters ... on to the next book.
Sherryl Hancock has amazing talent pairing butch\femme couples. They are inspiring women that continue to grow through each book. The magic she creates is beautiful. These are fast paced novels, that you will not want to put down. I look forward to more by this author, especially her wlw series.
Great as always.. I would have liked to hear more about Devin and Skyler but theres always WEHO 13😁I LOVED THIS LOVE STORY the characters just oozed chemistry.. Read iiiitt! Cant wait for the next
This whole series is a GREAT read it may be about women finding other women who treat them the way want to be treated “ TREASURED “, but its about how people can become a family no matter their up bringing or background.
I love this series and this author. Every one of the books in this series is absolutely awesome. Filled with strong women and every teenage girl out there should read these so they know how the woman in their life should treat them!
This series is awesome! The characters are all women you will want to have as friends & hang out with! Kai & Finley's story is another wonderful addition to Sherryl's series of Weho books!
As usual Hancock adds toher fabulous cast of characters. Really a group of women youwant to have your back and have a drink with. The plot on this one seemed a little incomplete. Knowing the way the author works we will find out more in the next installment.
While this the least dramatic of the series so far, the way characters and race is handled is much improved. A lot of that "exotic" bs that ambiguously brown folx really hate to hear, but otherwise not bad at all. Gonna keep reading!
I've read this series multiple times and will continue to do so! The author has done a great job intertwining the characters. I'm incredibly invested in these characters and feel like I know them. I can't wait for the next installment!
Yet again another great book by Sherryl Hancock. I love how she introduces the main characters of her next book towards the end of the current book. It's definitely a good way to draw readers in.
Another good addition to an entertaining series with interesting characters from various backgrounds, personalities, situations & experiences. Enjoyed the new characters introduced in this book.
Another fantastic story in the WeHo series I thoroughly enjoyed this one. as always great characters and so good to visit with old friends from earlier books
