A Cure for Chaos: Horrors From Hospitals and Psych Wards

Rate this book
Life is chaos. Death is the only cure. You're never so vulnerable as when you surrender your body to a hospital.

You trust the doctors to know what is best, but these stories show what happens when they have other plans.

What if a maternity doctor pretends your child died during birth just so he can steal it? Or a simple operation is used as an excuse to harvest parts? Discover the truth of the asylum in the woods, take the pills which induce mind-bending phobias, and try to escape when you've been institutionalized against your will.

A CURE FOR CHAOS is an anthology of horror stories from 30 authors, each with a unique way to thrill and terrify you. From stalking supernatural monsters to the psychopaths hiding in plain sight, these quick reads are perfect for adding excitement to your daily life.

Former neuroscience researcher, born again horror writer. During my studies, it struck me as odd that I could learn so much about why humans behave without understanding the intricacies of human nature. It occurred to me that I learned more about the depths of human experience from reading Dostoyevsky than I ever had from my text books, and I was inspired to write.

A fantastic collection of creepy stories. I have always found hospital stories to be creepy. This book just confirmed why hospitals are creepy. Highly recommend.

This is one of these books I got for free, and it's so long ago that I don't even recall if it was free on Amazon, or if it was a gift from someone.
Anyways I got around to reading it, and dude - why has this been waiting for so long in my library? I think it's a combination of the title and the cover, it just looks real bad - as in REAL bad.
But whaddaya know, it isn't! it is actually a really, really nice collection of horror shorts, and the good stories in there absolutely outweigh the bad. Also it has a load of stories and you absolutely get something for your money. I say, free or not - get it! While not all the stories are about hospitals or mental asylums (I seem to remember there were a couple where I wondered why he'd put them in there), they are almost all strong stories which are definitly worth a read.

I did not change my mind abt the cover, it is super lame - but for once I got caught by the cliche (you know the one about books and their covers).

As with any anthology, there are stories that speak to us (scare us!) better than others, but this is a really fine selection of stories that are focussed in that time when we are most vulnerable: at the hospital.

What if those who are tasked with our care are working their own agenda? Dive into this book and then consider to never go to a hospital again :P

Disturbing content😉

This is one of the most disturbing and captivating reads I have read this year. I didn't want the book to end, but all good books must have a final page. I highly recommend this read to anyone who appreciate being shaken out of their comfort zone.

Wow. Definitely scary. Doctors telling you your child died, when it’s not true. Other unimaginable things happening. Impossible to put down. Loved it.

Interesting Collection

Varied reviews for each story and author, but overall well worth the read. Some typos and such, but nothing too terrible.
