Okay, let's face it. My mom and I are never going to have a "normal" mother-daughter relationship because my mom isn't just my mother, she's my best friend. She would do anything for me, including asking her parents for the tuition money to send me to Chilton, this prestigious prep school that just accepted me. That was probably one of the toughest things she's ever done, although agreeing to weekly dinners in exchange for the loan probably runs a close second. My mom's just miserable at the mere thought of this. But the way I look at it? -- I'd just say life is going to get a lot more interesting.
I am a complete and utter Gilmore Girl freak. Lorelai and Rory are amazing. So naturally I am buying the books with every Amazon gift card I get! Completely to the disgruntlement of my family. They really don't care that much, but there is a definite confusion about how I could like such 'dreck.' I find they're the perfect companion books for a college student. Stress relieving and easy to put down or pick up in a second. The paperbacks are also the perfect pocket size. Hoodie or cargo pants that is. Purse too!
Side notes the nicety of the books is you can go look up the references easier, since its all written down for you. That is if you want to and don't get them all...
This is a book about Rory Gilmore. Daughter of Loralei Gimore and granddaughter to Emily and Richard Gilmore. In this book we are introduced to most of the characters from the tv series, there are quite a few , all memorable and funny and wonderful. This book finishes up Rory's school life in Star's Hollow and she starts at her new school Chilton.Just as she is finishing up her first school she meets the lovely Dean .. this leaves her having second thoughts about changing schools. There is a lot of conversation in this book. The banter between characters is fast and witty and you have to be on your toes to catch every reference and quote. I had to hunt about to find this book to buy as I could not buy it new and I am really glad I did as I loved the tv show, and no matter how old I get I dont think I will ever be too old for some Gilmoreisms...(Makey uppy word but you know what I mean ha ha).A must for all the Gilmore Fans!! :0)
I’ve loved GG since my pre-teen years. When I recently found out there are books out there based on the show, I had to get my hands on them! Instantly this book (and the others) are 5 stars from me.
Rating: 5 Stars!! Review: Even tho this was only the 5th Book I've read by Catherine Clark so I kind of knew what to expect but I have to say I was a little disappointed that some of the scenes from the show weren't in this book which was surprising.
The Characters were just as fun and enjoyable as they are in the show.
The Setting was beautifully described which made me feel like I was actually in Stars Hollow Connecticut especially when the scenery was described.
Overall a Good Book 2 in this Gilmore Girls Book Series!! Can't wait to read more by Catherine in the future!!
I'm love Gilmore Girls and is book is no exception! This is the first 10 episodes in season 1 from Roy's pov. It is kind of weird to only get have the story compared to the show but you get a better idea of what was going on in Rory's head.
These books are based on the show! So that’s different than we’re used to. That’s why there were no extra details in the books, I even thought the show was more detailed. Sometimes it felt like they left some things out. Like where is Kirk?! Even so, I loved to read these books because I could be in the Gilmore world once again😍 It was really like I was living in the show and everything happened to me!
The scenes that are captured in this book are really similar to the ones from the show, so that was amazing. These books also had the Gilmore Girls vibes we know from the show.
It was a shame the books were only from Rory’s perspective, because in the show we see everyone’s pov.
If you’re a Gilmore Girls fan, I’d recommend reading this because it’s fun to read about them instead of watching them. But it’s no big addition to the story so don’t expect too much!
ahhh i truly loved this book. i adore watching Gilmore Girls especially season 1. the book was told from Rory’s perspective and i really had fun and felt autumn while reading it. can’t wait to read next books.
Perfect for Gilmore Girls fans!! It is a really quick read, incredibly accurate, and it's a nice change of perspective to read from Rory's point of view. The only complaint is that, this way, we don't see anything related to Luke and Lorelai
Very fast read, especially if you’ve watched Gilmore girls as million times and know the dialogue by heart anyway haha. I have a great time in stars hollow no matter what so of course it’s a 5 star for me. Not because the writing was a masterpiece or groundbreaking but just because Gilmore girls is one of my comforts and it’s enjoyable to me! This was basically snippets of a few episodes of season 1 put into a short novel. It was all from Rory’s perspective so gave tiny insights into her thoughts that you don’t see or hear in the show and it completely leaves out Lorelai’s view point unless she’s in a scene with Rory. I enjoyed it and want to read the rest, even if 99% of it is word for word the tv show.
This book is not sold anywhere and is so expensive to buy used but luckily i work in a library so was able to pull some strings and got it. It was written after the show so I knew every chapter by heart already. The book is written in Rory's POV though which Is so cool. Some scenes get skipped over because she wasn't there but since I've seen though show I knew exactly what happened in between chapters. Could of gone without reading but still a great book.
I love the show Gilmore Girls so I thought I would love this book however I didn't like it at all. To me they basically just took out what Rory says in the show and added a few details into it. I didn't make it through the whole thing because I kept imagining what the show was doing. I would recommend this book to someone who hasn't seen the shows first.
I love the TV show smmmmm. But the book mainly revolves around Rory’s life and left out a lot of other scenes and characters in the show. Also I wished the book had included Lorelai’s POV as well since she’s my favorite character ahhhh:’))
I LOVED this book because I loved Gilmore girls. The only thing that bothered me a little was that it was all Rory’s point of view. I would have liked it to switch between the 2 point of views each chapter or every few chapters.
It was amazing book tho that I finished very quickly!
