Older codependent women often trap themselves into taking care of men even older than themselves. There are over forty million codependent women in the United States. They become codependents by virtue of seeking the approval of even older men who depend on them due to housekeeping and health care problems such as limited mobility. Such women are known as nurses with purses, and must often contribute some of their "purse" income to household support. What pushes women into these relationships?
