Dragons. Prophecies. Wizards.

The world's fate rests on the shoulders of one half-blood Dragon. Taken by the infamous Red Dragon, Rowen now finds herself without hope, a plan for escape, or her memory. Ancient secrets are revealed during her captivity, and a strange black Dragon risks his life to save her. When he finds himself injured and also kept in the Red Dragon's lair, the two of them must find a way to survive.

Captain Elian Westin and what remains of his crew make the journey to Withrae where a war is brewing. Dragons versus humans. Which side will they choose? The answer isn't as simple as Elian thinks when he is brought face-to-face with the woman who broke his heart. The rules are no longer as simple as he once believed when the fate of his daughter and her mother are left in his hands.

But, in Draconia, things are rarely what they seem, and the origins of a curse are revealed.

As much as i enjoyed the first two books in the series, this one was only so-so for me. It felt rushed and as though major scenes had been cut to decrease the length of the book, things i would have liked to know were glossed over. Rowan still had heart and the other characters were still trying to fight the good fight, but it felt as if they forgot somewhere along the way, what it was they were fighting for. And the big reveals I expected never came ( Rowan was innocent, the King was involve, etc ). She just pops up with a tiara on her head. I love K.N. Lee, but this third book in the trilogy was not her best . 3.5⭐'s . I received a gifted copy and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review.

Whole series disappointing

Can't believe I slogged through. Grammatical and spelling mistakes. Poorly developed plots were rushed through leaving a lack of character depth and gimmicky "plots". Minimal explanation or demonstration of world and magical systems. Incredibly awful "romance" - not at all believable and just yucky.

The conclusion to the Dragon-Born Trilogy was very satisfying! Rowen finally comes into her own powers, kicks some butt & falls in love. What more could you ask for? Dragons, wizards, sorcerers, half-bloods, mermaids...they are all here! I enjoyed the whole Trilogy & love Ms. Lee's writing style. I will definitely be reading more by this author!

DETAILS:

Queen of the Dragons by K.N. Lee completes her Dragon Born Trilogy. For prospective readers yet to have purchased any individual publication, you can purchase the Kindle Boxed Set version for $US7.01, a saving of a little over 22% on the combined individual cost of $US9.02. The preceding books are Half-Blood Dragon and Magic-Born Dragon. Across the trilogy the top three Goodreads Tags are: Fantasy; Dragons; and Magic. As a guide to reader appreciation for the trilogy, by using separate combined tallies of the current individual book listings (not the boxed set), it has: an average star rating of 4.07 stars on Amazon, 3.85 stars on Goodreads (from 1120 ratings); and 342 reviews on Amazon, 167 reviews on Goodreads. Given Half-Blood Dragon was released just five months ago (Jan 14th 2017), I'd doubt many authors or readers would balk at such figures.

I've included various Amazon links below. The six review links in order of listing include: Half-Blood Dragon & Magic-Born Dragon (Dragon Born Trilogy Books 1 & 2); The Goddess of War: Tales from the Abyss (Fallen Gods Book 1); The Scarlett Legacy; The Last of the Djinn (Chronicles of Magic: A Paranormal Romance Boxed Set); and Magic & Mistletoe: 15 Paranormal Stories for the Holidays Anthology which includes Frost: A Fairy Tale Retold. If you've yet to read any of the current trilogy, please skip past the introduction notes below as they're intended as a glimpse for readers who've read books one and two, and/or who've had a gap between releases: a snapshot bringing them up-to-date.

INTRODUCTION - THE STORY SO FAR:

The bold description heading for Queen of the Dragons - Dragons. Prophecies. Wizards. - says much about where the trilogy has been leading to. Rowen is of course the key figure at the heart of prophecy. A rare half-born young lady with one foot in the landscape of dragon shifters, the other in the human landscape where wizardry encompasses their magical potential, and ostracised and rejected by both. None more so than the stepfather her mother took up with, after Rowan's father died (or so she was earlier led to believe). Each race has their own power structure. What dragon shifters might lack in numbers, they considerably make up for in longevity, inborn strength, their dragon halves, and healing boosted by their capacity to shapeshift .

Starting out the journey we're privy to, Rowan began her story in the heart of the dragon shifter Royal Palace. As a lady-in-waiting to the princess, she'd been sleighted to wed the prince heir; which was the culmination of efforts carried out in her mother's and her stepfather's stead, that is until he was found dead, the victim of a poisoning. Perceived as a half-born abomination, she was convicted before ever being presented at the farce masquerading as her trial. About to be scheduled for execution, Rowen saw no option but to reveal her wizard born ability of enrapturing the mind, which she used to reveal the truth of her innocence to the trial judge. Opinions being what they are, this only provoked his hatred for human magic. Regardless of ensuring the royal family would see proper justice being done, Rowan was convicted and sentenced to the customary death sentence for treason.

Having as yet not experienced any shifting which ought to have been inherited from her mother, Rowan still has a further gift; that of oracle or prophetic sight of events leading to her death. Believing it certain from various past history, and having thwarted such previous occasions, she had seen the day of her execution before getting arrested. It had not included actual visual evidence of planned husband dying, only a vague reflection of what she woild later recognise as her stage of execution in front of the population. So she'd used her rapture to push the heir into bringing the announcement of their plans to wed forward, believing that with the power of the throne behind her would avert that death.

Unfortunately, as is a potential during any visions, she hadn't correctly interpreted the signs. Her interpretation was of her murder presumed to be carried out by a man in her vision, who her instincts told her he was there for her. What she didn't realise until too late was that the death was the execution, and that the man in the crowd was there to actually rescue her from the hands of the royal family's executioner. With his own blackest of magics he unleashed an ethereal small legion, who in their seconds before departing to an afterlife denied to them, they started killing at random and thus provided the distraction needed to abscond with Rowan in tow.

In a twist in the plot, the magic of her oracle gift came from her father who she was made to believe was dead, but who instead turned out to actually be the man in the crowd who she'd thought her killer. Neither knew their relationship to the other to begin with, although it was he who first worked it out by the flavour of her magic and her resemblance of her mother; who is/was the only woman he'd ever come to love. He'd spent his interim time never knowing he had a daughter, and as an infamous captain of a pirate vessel, chasing a mythological power said to be capable of reversing the curse slowly killing him.

The truth of the treasure he and his crew sought out became a much more likely treasure when it's discovered Rowan's blood could trace out details on a power he never let out of his sight. As a pirate captain he'd been using loot and stolen souls to pay a young human seer to fill in the missing pieces from his map leading to a mythological red dragon rumoured to be guardian of his desires. The seer was the one who'd sent him to the marketplace, but it took only minutes to detect the real treasure he now held captive, daughter or not. His rescue of Rowan sparked a massive effort by the dragon shifter royal navy to dog their every move.

Over the days that followed, Rowan became aware of the many parties who held their own vested interests in Rowan, including her mother, her stepfather, the heir's brother, her actual father, the royal family, all with interests vested in her involvement with a red dragon. None would willingly coming clean about it to Rowan, making it next to impossible to determine who she could unreservedly trust. Rowan believed even her mother had artificial motivations endorsing her role in events unfolding. With her rescue there failed to be a reduction in the risks to her safety; if anything she so many more became present than ever before. So many people with their hands in the pot and none seem to care enough to reveal the truths of their involvement, what her and the red dragon mean, or even the most basic of things in being what they wanted to cook..

For Rowan personally, in moments when it was life or death, certain longed for control and abilities have finally come to the surface, none more so than her ability to shapeshift. Two dragons have started to play larger and unknown roles in her life; one black and the other red. Before the beginning of the end, in whatever form that may take, the red dragon, her, and the black dragon will all come to a head. The latter two really need to get back to the landscapes they ventured from. Her friends and family are becoming more heavily involved in a brewing war. Its been brewing a long time, that between shifters and humans, dragons and wizards, wherein prophecies encapsulate everything going on and what possible ending to hope for.

Some will rely on prophecies to save them, others to save their interests, whilst others will outright fight against them: all knowingly or otherwise. The only real certainty is that prophecies are a messy affair. They can be literal or metaphorical, fixed or open to change, accurate or inaccurate; and prima facie, that's all largely dependent on who did the telling and who's doing the translating. Rowan's set to become pivotal in the future affairs of their world, for certain interests have set in motion the unavoidable mass losses of life. This last has become inevitable, it's just a matter of when, who, and how many.

OPINION:

The Queen of the Dragons is one of those books where so much has come to a head during the respective stories, that it takes off (quite literally) flying from the first page, holding that furious pace until you've reached its completion. In typical trilogy form, books one and two establish the story (book one) and the context of what's to come (book two). The collective trilogy would likely be about the total length of an epic tome, those books with word counts ranging from one-hundred-and-twenty to one-hundred-and-fifty thousand, that are rather weighted bricks literally or imaginatively. By being broken off into three smaller chunks, each with their own start, middle, and end, the overall effect is enhanced by attaining premise, reasoning, and conclusion, in each and every chunk. Thus, instead of wading through each section presented in much larger portions, the presentation alters the feel of the story.

Rowan is a great choice for providing a steady order, with growth that reveals a continual incline at a constant pace of development. She permits the other characters to wow and dazzle with barely hinted at secrets and lightbulb moments. This last aspect is a particular strength, as there's more than one character and outcome that comes out of left field; that is, the hints are present but some only more so with the benefit of hindsight. The number of things that get by you to reach the gotcha or lightbulb moments, are better experienced and appreciated if you still recognise the clues at the end. If you can't see where they've come from at all then you're inclined to blame an author for pulling the wool over your eyes. Whereas if they're reached and you can see how you missed it, then you praise an author for being sneaky. It's one actuality with two (or more) possible approaches, and getting this fine-tuned enough to be the latter is a definite technical skill.

K.N. Lee's series ranging across the possible subgenres of fantasy are inexorably proving that like the title of this book, she's a queen of something too; a queen of fantasy. Some authors find their proficiencies by exploring one subgenre until they've exhausted their supply of ideas, the stories that create a significant library providing both recognition and appreciation through the medals and achievements they're awarded. At such stages they're then likely to look for things that renew their ideas. They undoubtedly become known and sought after by readers, but to a point, there's inevitably going to be only a portion of the reader market that can be swayed because in that prospective market there's only ever going to be so many who read just one subgenre to the exclusion of all others. Whether their new ideas turn to increases in the same genre or a different one comes after they're already known for one style of storytelling.

Then there's those that take a single genre like the broad umbrella of fantasy, and instead of starting in one subgenre of it they pick out the respective multiple ones and use this to keep their ideas going. From my own observations I see K.N. Lee as a queen of fantasy, even though she does have publications that come from different major genres, she's attacked the subgenres of fantasy with gusto. Epic fantasy, urban fantasy, paranormal, paranormal romance, or straight fantasy, the list just keeps getting bigger; plus young or new adult that focus on fantasy themes. Between this large snapshot, the wickedly artistic covers, the speedy release times, companion and prelude stories in collections and boxed sets for scrippance expenditure, and a few more incidental components, she's developed herself as a brand name or marketable logo/label that ensures readers are going to purchase her books almost without bothering to read the descriptions.

Hopes that this series has planned followup efforts became so the moment my reading app. suggested how long it'd take to read this book, gratification being written in author notes at the rear of the book. Instead of treating this as criticism though, the comments are intended to provide reassurance and anticipation. Rowan is after all just coming into her own. As this is a trend in fantasy series it reinforces the need to see that such outcomes aren't inherently linked to critical perceptions. I dare say that in some ways I look forward a little more to the follow up. I had done the same with the books that brought this trilogy to a close, but the prior statement about Rowan gives me an impression of how much more gritty the next book, trilogy, or series will be.

It's definitely a mood setter, in that the expectations regarding where events can go to from here, are right up the alley of what is considered on par for fantasy series like this and K.N. Lee's other series that involve higher levels of conflict: not to suggest though that this trilogy suffers in anyway from its own design. Given my own top favourite subgenre of fantasy is urban fantasy, it was also pleasing to see how author notes right at the back of the book broke up each series (or book) of her library into subgenre types. As the continuance of this thread is to become clearer from August onwards, it looks like I'll get to explore those more targeted references in the meantime.

This is the first time I'm going with 4 stars, mostly because I have no issue with direction or even a continuance, it's more because I would've liked to have see more come about from the final battle scene. That is, despite my preference for a snappy pace that could be misinterpreted as always wanting things to be fast reach their allotted end, it felt like the final battle was rushed. I won't go into details for fear of spoilers: but of the seven books from K.N. Lee's library that I've had the pleasure of reading thus far, this feels like it was the least explored finale out of the respective titles. Even just a few more pages would likely have been enough. Hoping not to give anything away I would say that given the lengthy history of a certain critical component I feel as though it needed more to bring it to a closure, temporary or otherwise.

However, please don't consider my scoring or final comment in the mood of a disliking as this would be harsh, it's more aimed at being constructive criticism. Fantastic trilogy, and even in the face of the four stars I've gone with, my average rating of the trilogy as a whole is 4.67 stars. Given the option is available I unreservedly recommend purchasing the complete trilogy boxed set for any who are perusing the complete reviews without having bought any book out of the three, and a must read if you've read books one and two.

I- I don’t know what to say. This book was such a clusterf*ck of events that made no sense and did not fit the timeline. We got a mary sue going completely OP, an antagonist becoming textbook villain, a lover who is not lovable in the least (”who says you have a choice?” what a great line for the prime LI, rly grows my affection for him), lots of tell instead of show, the whole package. I don’t recommend this book at all, unless you want to learn what NOT to do when writing a story.

Plot holes

Good storyline, some serious holes in execution. Plot and character development are needed. Final battle was started and over in a few sentences, then jumps to a conclusion.

The first book of this series was okay, nothing great, but nothing horrible either. Second book was not okay, it was bland and any promise that began in the first book was let down here. However, the ending was interesting enough that I wanted to keep going so here I am. I had such high hopes that maybe, just maybe this series could end on a high note. But, sadly I was wrong.

Once again, too short to develop anything, Rowen gets too lucky for her to have any real struggles and newfound abilities bail her out of every situation once again or some ally comes by and saves her hide. Also, the plot twists that should've left me stunned rather left me confused because they were not foreshadowed at all and were just thrown into the lap of the readers.

Don't let those beautiful covers fool you, this epic fantasy series is simply not that epic. It could've been, sadly, but each book suffered from seriously underdeveloped ideas, characters and world-building and though there is supposed to be as final book, I won't be reading it. I just can't do it anymore with these books.

Trilogy is an entirely inappropriate description of what these are. The potential for 3 great books exists with the help of a good editor and continuity supervisor. As they are, they read as treatments or abstracts. The book ended at 85% on my Kindle and is not even close to being worth the $10 charge per book the author is asking for each individual paperback. Don't waste your time or money.

Everything that's wrong with YA books

Like the first book in the series, this book only comprised 70% of the entire file.... so thanks for lying about that. The language of the book is off, none of the characters sound natural since they all speak the same way, despite the vast differences in station/species. Then there's the abrupt about face in who can be trusted, Rickard was only a whore so no one found out he was searching for his one true love. Rowen believes his about face because he stared longingly into her eyes. The evil villain is slain by stabbing.... seriously, as much as everyone hated the guy, no one thought to just run him through? By the third book, you'd think that the characters would have some dimension. Sadly, they are just as flat and uninteresting as the first book. Speaking of uninteresting, the only bit of world building comes in the form of a paragraph from a character that has no current knowledge - it's presented as back story. Honestly, if I hadn't promised my neice, there's no way I'd have read more than the first half of the first book.

I am in love with this series because it is so beautifully written and has many twists and turns that defiantly take you by surprise. In order to fully understand this one you want to read the first two books. But they will not disappoint you at all. This one continues the story where the second one leaves off and is a bit of a quick read but still fabulously written and has suspense with some drama. The end came a bit quick but that is ok because it is still fully explained and has you going what I did not expect that, LOL. I would have liked to see just a little more at the end of this book because I think it would have tied into a little better. Even so I gave it 5 stars because it is still wonderfully written and has a beautiful story. I love the characters in the story and they are extremely well developed. You see how the characters evolve throughout the series and show even greater personalities. This is a must read that is for sure. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book.

Rowen is a half-blood dragon who was taken by the Red Dragon and seems to have lost her memory. But she finds out some ancient secrets and her memory after a strange black dragon tries to free her (and gets injured in the process). Now they are both captives while he recovers. Elian Westin is a Ceptain and he and the remnants of his crew are travelling to Withrae where a war between dragons and humans is brewing - and it's not clear which side they will choose when he meets the woman who broke his heart years ago and suddenly the fate of both her and his daughter are at stake.

There was lots of action in the story as a the threads of the story were woven together to come to some fairly exlosive conclusions. There were lots of surprises and twists and turns on the way. The story was well written and easy to understand. A very enjoyable read that transported me off to a land of dragons, magicians and humans.

Political intrigue? Treason? Magic?

Check! What a great series!

Rowan loses her memory even as she gains power. Will she ever remember who she is or why she is on her journey?

Elian is deteriorating. Is he dying? What will save him? Will anything? And what is his goal on this journey? Why is his mermaid so angry?

Rickard is still searching for Rowan. But what does he want with her? Will he kill her?

The Red Dragon has secrets too. What are they? Why does he think Rowan is his beloved?

Who is Gavin? What is his role?

All these questions and the political intrigue and treachery that surround them weave the tapestry of this riveting book. While I feel like the end of the book came rather abruptly, the journey was very interesting and the plot original. I would like a little more character development, tho I can see it might be difficult with the number of characters introduced. Hope to read more about these characters in the next book!

Read book 1 as a free offer from kobo. I'll admit it's a good short story and well written but unfortunately it is a short story, not a book, not a novel. I burned through it in about 30 minutes and was left dumbfounded at how short it was. Then I found out these short stories were selling for $4CAD(discounted from 12.99!!!). What a scam! I've read short books(solid 8 hour read) better than this for $4.

I've read up to book 5. If all 6 stories were combined in 1 I would call it a solid book or novel worth reading and get 5 stars from me. Otherwise it's just frustrating. I won't be reading book 6 unless I can find a free copy. Just don't care at this point. I won't even look at any other books from this author if this is what she publishes for books.

Can't say I'd recommend this simply because it is so short and you're expected to fork out more $ for another 30 minute read. The value just isn't there.

Listened to audio narrated well by Mary Sarah. Easy to listen to and follow.

In this third book of the trilogy we finally get some answers and some of them will surprise you. I loved the various creatures and the surprise twists but the romance fell flat for me and it lacked depth that I prefer.

I thought this book did better as a fantasy read, I just never felt a connection between Rickard and Rowen. This book is short and moves quickly to it's detriment. There are so many tantalizing characters and happenings but we only get a taste of them before we're jumping forward in the storyline, leaving this reader feeling like they only got an appetizer instead of a full course meal. I think with a little more development and filling in the many things that got glossed over this could have been an outstanding read, but it fell short for me. A quick fantasy lite read.

The final book for this trilogy, many mysteries were resolved as well as some unexpected surprises! This storyline moved swiftly which made it seem short but I actually love fast paced stories! My eyes tend to go cross eyed whenever there are too many stalls in a storyline. Our main character, Rowan, finally has a clear picture as to who she is and where destiny is leading her. The love she finds will surprise you. Unveiling the secrets of her heritage kept me glued to this pages. This trilogy about her life has been highly entertaining and I am really pleased there will be a continuing storyline covering the next phases! Looking forward to more! I love shifters and I really love dragons so I was really excited about this series. I loved the first two books and the world that came from this author's mind. I loved the excitement and intrigue and the twist and turns and was really looking forward to the end of the series and expected a really big bang just because that is what this author normally does. While it was good I think she has set the bar so high in her previous work that it just didn't hit that bar this time. While I enjoyed the story and love the ending I just wish it was in a more powerful punch. Overall it is a great series and a wonderful story and world worthy of the time to read and yes I would still recommend it to all as one to read.

I liked this series. I read all 3 in like two days. But everything at the end of book was so.... simple and easy. All 3 books I was disappointed to find that 20% of all 3 books on my Kindle were promos for other novellas. The end of this one left me wholly unsatisfied. ***spoilers*** The "look she just learned how to change" blop.. blop... blop "look she is a trained dragon shifter" now. Really disappointed me. The opportunity to explore the relationship during the time bubble was skipped among other things that were just glossed over. The decision to not put the effort in to the shifters ritual that would take long time to learn, but was done in 3 sentences, feels lazy to me. These all could have been one book or two amazing books.

Really disappointed in this novel. The dots weren't connected very well. Reader has to make assumptions and guesses. In some places the narration directly contradicts previous statements. The world-building needed major work to fill all the holes in the story. History is well illustrated or explained. Editing was a major issue as well: so many dropped letters - to, instead of too, on, instead of one - and even missing quotation marks. These things might have been overlooked if the rest of the story were well done, but this just seemed rushed. The ending created so many more questions that it answered. yay for the HEA, but seriously, that epilogue was too bare bones to be part of a novel. It was more like a story outline.

*vovoluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from the author*

Overall 3.5, 4 stars for me.

I absolutely LOVED the world and the adventure and drama but it was all so fast! While a fast-paced fantasy read with a really good plot and cast, the stories were still pretty quick in the pacing. This last installment was great because it ended and concluded everything. So though it was fast, cause I feel like it would've been amazing if it was paced a little differently, I'd still recommend it for those who love fantasy reads with a hint of love that doesn't make it a main thing, but rather concentrates on the adventures, suspense and overall ability to escape.

Dragon shifters, magic, chaos....

It had my attention from page one all the way to the last page. A dragon prince who has always been more than people choose to see and halfling who is more than anyone ever dreamed. Herself included. It will take both of them to stop an evil plot of a cruel king. And they'll have to manage this feat with opposition from all sides. But they just might find help in the least likely places.
It's a fast paced story that has the characters and substance to draw you in and keep you there. If you like dragons, wizards, and magic then this is a book you'll enjoy.

A nice little conclusion to the trilogy. Character development was a little more consistent for the mains in this book than in the last. Well fleshed out, EXCEPT for the Red Dragon and the White Dragon. These two beings, nearly eternal, practically demi-gods, were given juvenile dialog, juvenile behavior, and most embarrassing for the reader, juvenile wonderment at human behavior.... and we're supposed to pass this off in someone who has had interactions based on a millennial time frame? On the bright side, the author did a nice job of tying together the loose ends of the book with the prophetic utterances from the first two books.

For KU can't complain. It follows Rowen just after she's been taken by the Red Dragon. Again, quire predictable as the red dragons mate turns out to be her mother which I guessed the first conversation they had together.
I didn't understand how she could believe the guy she hated over the guy she loved - Lawson, even if he did die. And how she happily works with the people who framed her for the killing of Lawson. I wouldn't just except "you know in your heart it's true". But it is free so again I can't really complain.
Fast paced and a few action scenes. Sadly no sexy scenes but it isn't for over 18s.
Hood if you want a quick read. It took me a night to read all 3 books.

Hard, fast, GREAT Read!

I started this afternoon with the first book in the series, three books and 7 hours later with reluctant beaks away from my kindle for food, I NEED to know when the next book will be out!!
Tell you what Miss Lee, I too live in Charlotte, so just let me know when the next installment is ready and I'll treat you to Coffee and dessert at Landmark. The Tall Chocolate Cake they serve is divine, a guaranteed worthy bribe, or cure for writer's block when one needs to get out of the house and decompress with chocolate....
In the meantime, I believe I'll give one of your other books a try, but they just may be a tough act to follow

I enjoyed the read. I'm still in love with the characters and the world that has been built so far, but I thought this was suppose to be a Trilogy. That implies that there should only be three books. This is the third and supposed final book, yet... it is left on a cliffhanger? These books so far could really be crammed into one book and be a standard novel, although, why release them in small segments as such is beyond me...
If there will be more, then great! But It can't be called a Trilogy. If this was the last in the series, then what a disappointing ending.

This book would have been so great if the storyline and characters had been more developed. The whole book seemed rushed. The first two books built up to finding the red dragon and then it just seemed to end. A great story but it needed more. Especially the last chapter and the epilogue. They could have been 5 more chapters alone. I do hope that since the series is going to continue the author will put more work into making the books longer and more developed. These read like short stories not novels.. I would really love a novel.

Well that ending was crap. It was rushed, plain and simple. What happened to Rikard's healthy father? What exactly was the prophecy? How was her mother bound to her father like the mermaid but was able to lwave him and get married? If her mother was the first shifter, but only had her, how the hell did the race come about? Why was magic abolished from the relm if magic is what created them? Why was Gavin hiding the fact that he was a wizard? Why couldn't her father just suck souls if he was so sick?

I can go on and on and on and on.....

Her life is very changed at this point. This book offers a lot of answers for those who have been reading the series. You get some real surprises. It ties together most of the pieces.

It is a fast-paced read and I feel like some of the pieces came together a little too easily. I would have liked to see her struggle a little more with some of the information she received and the actions taken.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

Good read.

I enjoyed this series and I am looking forward to the continuation.
The good: Well written characters, an original story, a fantastic new world

The bad: This book was a little shorter and the end seemed cut off, like there should have been more to the culmination and before the epilogue. Also, this book could use an editor for spelling

Overall totally worth the read!!

This book is okay.

The plot is promising, but everything moves too quickly. It doesn't allow us to really get into the characters or their actions. And the writing could be improved... I know this is probably YA, but still. The first book set the stage for a great fantastical story, but each book sets a slightly lower bar. And the plot is getting confusing. Not sure if I'll read the next one.
