Home on Lestaron Island, Jack finds himself with a new, much more domestic array of problems. The doubts unearthed by Volandar’s assertion that Jack’s father is still alive push him into an unorthodox and potentially illegal investigation.
Now that Mira’s living at the mansion under the guise of his new gardener, he's also forced to carefully manage the unexpected toll it places on his relationship with Ryoko. And of course, his ever-present need to feed poses the new question of who to bite and how often.
WARNING: This book contains graphic sex, a slow building harem, and increasingly disconcerting moral dilemmas.
Hey, I'm Edmund Hughes. I like to write fantasy novels with strong erotic themes, gratuitous amounts of sex and violence, and offensive humor. If that's what you're looking for, you've come to the right place.
While not my favorite book in this series so far, it is none the less worth the read. In this forth installment of Edmund's Dark Impulse series, our hero Jack faces his Dark Night of the Soul, things go from dark to darker as he investigates a mystery that was revealed in the previous book, and pursues some aquatic adventure.
What I liked about this book:
* The sex scenes are continuing to amp up and are more satisfying. * We get to know more about Jack's brood mother and she is not what I was expecting. * The stakes get raised for Jack in many ways.
What I did not like about this book:
* I found Jack to be a much less sympathetic character in this installment, and flat out found some of his decisions to range from stupid to unforgivable. * There was a section in this story that could have been a great place for this poly-amerious story to actually start down the "Harem Adventure" path for realz, but it didn't. * Jack seems to have no ability or desire to investigate before acting. * The total absence of some characters.
I am still looking forward to the next installment as there is still a lot of potential in this series, I just hope that Jack starts to learn from his mistakes, Jack learns to take advantage of his ability more especially when the girls are so very willing.
The author did not disappoint in this book or the series. This is the fourth book involving a vampire that has a conscience and, and the people and town he loves. The women are really sexy, and every chapter brings new challenges, and more heartache. I am await the next chapter in the series, and hope for more to come.

As usual Jack is making dubious decisions. Katie has left the island and does not feature in this story. Jack gets involved with a water nymph and a demon in pursuit of information to help find his father. A good next in the series. If you liked the previous books you should like this one.
