It doesn’t matter what I do. People keep dying around me!

And yet, somehow I’m still here. I’ve survived the unthinkable. I was presented before the Catach-Brayin. I used vixra magic against witchling law. And my sister was turned into a weapon against me.

Now I have to live in the same house as Tobias Vallas while I recover and prepare for the Congressman’s upcoming trial.
And to make matters worse, Tobias wants something from me that I’m not prepared to give. But how does someone say no to the most powerful vampire coven master in the entire western world without dying?

Peril Unbound is the third book in the Kruxa Echelon series, the first series in the Witchling Wars urban fantasy universe.

Love the story, hate the characters.

Is it possible to absolutely love a storyline while hating every character?

Yes, I guess it is, because I honestly love the storyline while simultaneously hating every single character.

For starters, I’m wondering what the author has against women? So far in this series, this is what we have for EVERY female character: they’re either openly manipulative and/or aggressive toward the h or weak and used as a weapon against the h. Meanwhile, the h is rationalizing her ‘feelings’ for a man who is in love with the original incarnation of the h. It’s not bad enough that she thinks there’s a connection between the H and herself, but she knows that Georgeanna is still alive and kicking, and is still in love with the H as well. Desperate much, Harper?

Transference is a thing, people. It’s not romantic, and it’s not indicative of true love. It also isn’t a quality plot device or character development. I don’t know, maybe there’s a twist in the end where it resolves itself successfully. But I can’t read through any more of Harper’s story without wanting to slap some sense into her.

After 3 books in a 4 book series, the heroine still has little to no agency. She just has to put up with what everyone else, from her sister, to the vampires, to the magical elite wants. And if she tries to take control or do anything other than what they want, she gets smacked down and treated as if everything is her fault. No other character takes responsibility for their choices. It’s very frustrating as a reader, because there seems to be no real forward momentum. And at this point, I’m not convinced of any possible romance with Tobias within the space of a book or the possibility that others will come to trust and respect her. Not going to finish this series. Also, you cannot be reincarnated if the previous person is still alive. That’s just not how it works. Needs some editing (the wrong name sometimes subbed in for a character), but obviously not badly written since I got three books in. I just need my heroines to have a little more agency and respect for themselves and respect from others after three books.

Great twists

This was such a great book with the twists you didn’t see coming! Even the ending had a twist on how Tobias new everything that was said and done. The murderers are revealed and that fell into place very well. An interesting fact appears that makes you feel sad for Nathaniel and Georganna.

Amazing Series

This series is one of those that is so good you think about it after you finish the book. The main character and supporting characters continues to grow and change throughout the books and the twists and turns keep you on your feet in the best of ways!

The drama in this book is getting so intense. Witches and Vampires working together to stop a prophecy of war. I received an arc of this book from the author and absolutely loved it. I am so hooked.

This book was mind blowing!!! It left me in a book hangover I'm still stuck in even after reading 2 other book's I keep coming back to this wondering what's going to happen next! I loved it. It was so shocking it left me speechless for a whole hour after I read it. I seriously fought off sleep just finish reading this book because I couldn't put it down. I'm voting for team Nathaniel!! That ending was jaw dropping!!! I'm definitely shipping Harper & Nathaniel! Tobias just seems scary and add his scary jealousy to the mix whoa!!! I thought he was going to punch a wall out or go hunt down Nathaniel!
