As the use of pornography has risen in the church and has infiltrated the lives of church leaders, an entire host of questions arise regarding the care for those who have fallen. This book is a small attempt to examine a problem that only seems to be growing. How do we restore a pastor who has succumbed to the deadly grip of pornography? How do we minister to a man in the middle of porn addition? Is he still fit for ministry? If so, when should he return? You'll read the powerful story of a pastor who was addicted to pornography but was, by God's grace, able to overcome it and continues to enjoy a faithful ministry today. We also examine how a porn addiction affects a pastor's wife and family, and how a God-called man can guard his heart and mind against this loathsome intruder. Like a rattlesnake, pornography is not an issue to be trifled with. It must be confronted intentionally and vigorously among the people of God.
I’m not sure what to say about this short ebook. (Around 120 pages) There are 12 chapters all written by different authors so this is a collection of short thoughts. The fact that it is short should not govern you the idea that it isn’t helpful. Because it is helpful. And convicting. And thought provoking. And useful.
It is written from the standpoint of dealing with pastors that are struggling with pornography. It is rampant in our society and is the same amongst ministers.
This is a serious attempt to shed some light on a difficult issue. There are habits that are called out, resources that are listed, and practical suggestions for someone that wants to be a different man.
One of the statements towards the end of the book was that if we are not holy, we will not see God. That is not only speaking of eternity but in our day to day life. I want to see Him.
