Definitely a five star read! This book was good from beginning to end. This was a well written story that holds your attention very well. These DeMao brothers are a trip! I love Keece but the secrets he's keeping aren't helping his situation. Paris ain't squeaky clean either. She really needs to learn how to sit down and listen. A hard head makes a soft you know what. Hopefully both Keece and Paris learn their lesson in part 2. Dinero is the hard head sibling that thinks fat meat ain't greasy and drags everyone into his problems. Kiyan is absolutely wrong for how he's treating Camara. I personally don't blame her for having to think about what she wants to do. Their relationship is toxic. The secrets revealed in the family scene are serious is enough to shake any family. Riley needs to move on with her life, she's irritating. I love the bond that the brothers including Big. I think that's dope. I do dislike how Paris liked to mind games with Keece, that's not cool. I feel that games will probably continue into part 2 and that the drama isn't quite over. I'm ready for it. There were a couple errors but nothing major. I'd definitely recommend this to others.
I've been reading books out of order but I had to find out more about the DeMao clan. Keece truly is crazy and I just wish he'd been honest instead of having Paris second guessing their relationship. I agree they moved fast but I liked them together. Paris had already dealt with a lot from Juan and Keece should've been considerate of the fact. Camara and Kiyan have such a crazy relationship but I'm glad she made the right decision with her situation. Riley needed to just move on because she had the opportunity to do right and didn't. Dinero has a hard head for sure and for once should've listened. I will say Dinero's mess up prompted the brothers to get the answers they needed some so good didn't come out of it. I couldn't believe Dom didn't ask the necessary questions concerning the whole situation and Celine would go so far to lie. Somebody needed to punch Celine in the throat because she caused so many problems for her own selfish reasons. I'm really ready to see what more will come about for Keece and Paris and if this will cause him to finally open up to her. It's messed up with Dom but I guess the guilt finally got the best of him.
This book was actually really good. I was hooked from the very first page. I really love Keece and Paris relationship and hope that they can overcome everything. Kiyan and Carma is a cute couple I just wish that Kiyan can see has a good girl. That ending was somethings else I was not expecting that. I can't wait for part 2.
Hot read, I was into it from the first page. Well developed and easy to follow, I love all the characters except for Celine lying butt. I'm hurt at what keece found out. He should have been up front with Paris. I hope they work it out.
I never expected to see that ending, because of Keece, Kiyan, Dinero, Big and Case's view of their father. He was a man with status, respect, and power. The boys' at one point admired their father, but that slowly faded away when they found out the true story of why their mother wasn't in their lives. They realized that their father, Dom, wasn't who they thought he was, and they were crushed, disappointed and hurt that Dom treated their mother like trash, because of the words from his wife, Celine, who were the boy's stepmother, Case's biological mother, and their (Keece, Kiyan, and Dinero's) mother's ex-best friend.
Keece ended up taking a charge for one of his younger brothers, and it landed him in prison. He had a girlfriend named Riley that left him high and dry, during his incarceration, and he decided to move on from that relationship. The brothers threw him a welcome home celebration, and that's where he met Paris. Paris was everything Riley wasn't, and he had to have her. The problem was Keece couldn't open up to Paris, like Paris wanted and needed him to. Things would go amazing one minute, and the next, he would disappear for days at a time, leaving Paris without any type of explanation. Paris explained that she was at her wits end, with her being the only one being an open book.
Kiyan was the eldest of the brothers, and he was dating Paris's best friend Camara. Camara absolutely loved Kiyan, but what started off as a friendship, developed into lovers, and Camara couldn't control her heart, or feelings. Kiyan was so used to having different women, that he couldn't stop his cheating ways. After Camara came into a dilemma that may ruin her relationship with Kiyan, she had to choose between what she wanted, or what Kiyan wanted.
Dinero was a hot head, and was in desperate need of his brothers respect. Keece was currently in charge of the family's illegal business, but Dinero wanted to be the next in line, but he kept making irrational decisions. All of the decisions were agreed or disagreed by a vote between the brothers, but Dinero always was the one that had a point to prove. Dinero almost landed the family into a situation that could've cost the family their business, but thank goodness, it worked itself out.
Paris saw Juan walk through the door with a baby that looked around 5yrs old. What the hell! Tired of the lies and cheating Paris is done. Keene Demao just got out of jail and his ex Riley tries to come back. No the hell she won’t per Keene. She’s scandalous! The Demao’s Keene, Kiyan, Bigs, Dinero and case are the boys around Milwaukee. Camara is dating Kiyan and she through it with nig so when a party is thrown for Keece she’s bringing her girl Paris. Sparks fly and Keece and Paris find themselves very attracted to each other. Paris asks him not to cheat nor hurt her. Riley is seething as she tries to get Keece back. Will it work? Keece goes to Riley’s to pick up his items , gets buzzed, forgets to pick up Paris ...Damn he lies to spare her feelings....now Case calls with even worse news....Keece I will be praying for u!!!
This book was good so far that's crazy how Celine could do all that because she was jealous of her friend so she did the up most disrespectful thing and had this women kicked out her kids lives. Riley she something else as well. I hope Camara and kiyan can fix their relationship and he change as well as keece and Paris relationship get fixed. The dad did that out of guilt but killing yaself will never change what happened and now he leaves his sons not understanding why he did it.
This my second time reading this book and like the saying goes best the second time around
Can't 2read part 2again also I want Keefe and Paris to get back together quickly especially with the father so call suicide this series is soooo good great characters li!e they are in all the other books those Demao boys are to be reckon with
I truly loved the books with these Demao brothers. I can't wait to read the next book. Keece needs to do all he can to win Paris back because fooling around with Riley is bound to leave him single.
Keece, why are you still moving reckless. Riley ain't loyal my dude, let that ride. This cover had me second guessing this read. Happy I didn't follow through. I love reading a good story about black love. Part 2 I see going to bring the drama.
It's not all drama but it's a lil drama thrown in with the love story. Keece & Paris meet when Keece is released from prison after a short bid. They are pretty much drawn to each other from the start & make a good couple. Good story & characters.
Lawwd that ended 😱!! Paris need to listen to Keece when he said he wasn’t cheating. That’s what he gets for being secretive! Riley need new friends because he friends not giving her good advice. I highly recommend this book. Love Camara!!!
This good read is full of secrets. From the family destruction caused by the stepmama, to the lies Reece keeps telling Paris. So much drama going on because of the lies. I can't wait to read part two. That cliffhanger really leaves you wanting more.
Keece and Paris both need to heal! The author did an excellent job of painting the picture so I get it but whewschitt! These folks went off the spring finale of As the World Turns! Can't wait to read part 2.
I don’t know why these ppl try to go up against the Demao’s. Keece was that dude even tho he got on my nerves sometimes. I’m happy Rochelle got a happy ending
This was a great book and I can't wait for part two. I hope keece can make Paris realize that he didn't cheat although it looks really bad in his part I can't believe Dom killed his self.
Paris is a tough down to earth take no sh** type of female. Her personality however will change when proved and Keece does a lot of that. It's always enjoyable when men are the one's on the crappy end of the stick and I applauded Paris for standing her ground. Keece is spoiled and a bit hot headed, yet very true to his word. Well actually Kiyan might be worse, he just can't get it right. Keece really hadn't realized what type of woman he had until he really screwed up. I really like theirs story. The characters are developed really well. This books imagery was done well also, you didn't have to give too many details to under the passion with Keece and Paris. The ending really wasn't what I expected, but dang, that's was a tough one.
WHOA!!! I didn’t expect that ending!!! This was a great read. It was exciting and kept me engaged. This love story between Keece and Paris was so sweet. I was really upset with Celine and I think she influenced Riley to drug Keece. Now that hasn’t been mentioned or proven yet, just my thoughts but I will see in part 2!!! 💯⭐️📖💯⭐️📖
On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being I realized my car was stolen– 10, I won a Lamborghini Veneno (worth $4.5M).
I enjoyed this story. It was well written, good introduction of the characters and just enough drama to keep the pages turning. Smooth flowing storyline. I knew Keece's involvement with Riley's various "situations" would eventually cause major problems. Paris's no nonsense attitude made her the perfect match for Keece. I thought Celine's admission was an added surprise to the storyline and made the story all the more interesting. This was my first read by Charae Lewis and I'm looking forward to reading more books by this author.
I loved everything about this book. The storyline flowed really good and the characters were off the off. Keece is my ideal man and I know he loves Paris with everything is him but I believe he needs to be honest about his profession. The love she haves for him will be strong enough to deal with it. Kiyan needs to makeup his mind and let Camara go or be with her wholeheartedly. Dinner is weak and somewhat of a nutcase. I can't believe what Celine and Dom did I was caught off guard with that. I cannot wait for the next installment to see what happens next.
Ok this was really good!!! Dom & Celine just wow Rochelle didn't deserve that at all or her boys. Cam just needs to leave Kyian alone he ain't ready just co-parent. Paris & Kee love they love but what type of relationship you in and you lying about everything you do? Who you with? Why entertain an ex you know she want you? The fact Riley took advice from Celine snake ass is laughable. Happy it's not the same drug dealer story. That end tho, please let Dom have a letter. Guilt a m'fer ain't it! Celine just WOW ppl are crazy!
I love this book and I love Keece and Paris relationship and I really hope they get back together because I love them together. I do have to say tho I don't like the way the book ended, it was actually stupid to me because it just didn't make any sense to me like for Dom to be this Drug Lord and what not for the Author to end the book stating he committed suicide just seems dum as hell and it really don't make any sense.
