Pearl, hija del presidente en la tierra, ha sido secuestrada por unos terroristas. Cuando el presidente se entera, solicita la ayuda de los Alien Breeds y no hay nadie mejor para ese trabajo que Hunter. Pero cuando ambos se conocen el agradecimiento de Pearl se vuelve mucho más que eso pero Hunter no parece muy dispuesto... O si?
Me gustó la historia, pero aún así Pearl me ponía de los nervios. Era como bipolar, en un momento era una persona madura como en otro parecía una niñita tonta que tenía un berrinche infantil de tres pares de narices. Sólo por ella es que le bajo algo la nota al libro que por lo demás la historia es genial: cortita, con un macho alfa admirablemente gruñón y posesivo y un final muy feliz!
Me gustó la historia, pero aún así Pearl me ponía de los nervios. Era como bipolar, en un momento era una persona madura como en otro parecía una niñita tonta que tenía un berrinche infantil de tres pares de narices. Dieser Band ist schon besser als der erste obwohl ich sagen muss, hervorragende Leistung ist es nicht, aber für zwischendrin ist es super flüssig zu lesen und einigermaßen spannend.
Ich bekomm ja immer Hass auf Menschen wenn ich wieder einmal lese das sie vernichten wollen was sie nicht kennen oder was irgendwie anders ist. ABer es ist einfach nur die Realität leider :(
Auch dieses Buch ist was erotik angeht relativ derb geschrieben, wenn man da nicht so zimperlich ist, geht es :)
Hunter mag ich total gerne und das Buch ist sonst voller Intrigen und Psychopathen -.- Abgesehen von der etwas überzogenen Schlussszene fand ich das Buch ganz ok :)

Ja ja... ich geb die Hoffnung nicht auf... Und ich muß zugeben: Die Autorin hat sich etwas gebessert! Während mir Rage noch fast wie eine leicht abgeänderte Version von Fury (Laurann Dohner) vorkam, hat sie sich hier eine eigene Story einfallen lassen.
Trotzdem fehlt mir immernoch die emotionale und charakterliche Tiefe, sowie die Intensität der New Species. Auch wurden Probleme und Widrigkeiten wieder zu schnell gelöst. Von dem mir persönlich viel zu plötzlichen "Ich liebe dich" mal ganz abgesehen...
Bis das nächste Buch der Reihe erscheint, werde ich mir überlegen, ob ich sie überhaupt noch weiter lesen werde. Denn wie schon am Anfang festgestellt, bessert sich die Autorin.
Für mich hat dies Buch also etwas besser abgeschnitten, aber noch lange nicht so gut, dass ich ihm 4 Sterne geben würde...

COVER:
Sehr schönes Cover. Ich mag es, wenn die Cover einer Serie alle etwas Einheitliches haben, das sie miteinander verbindet und auf den ersten Blick als zusammengehörig kennzeichnet.
Die Bücher der Alien Breed Reihe sind in soweit immer gleich aufgebaut, als dass die oberen zwei Drittel des Covers von einem männlichen Torso der Extraklasse geziert werden. Dayum. Das untere Drittel zeigt einen DNA Strang der farblich hinterlegt ist, welche meist variieren und zur Farbe des Titels passen. Name der Autorin, sowie Titel der Serie sind in einfachem weiß gehalten und lenken somit nicht vom Cover, oder dem ebenfalls farblich gestalteten Buchtitel ab, welcher immer der Name der Hauptfigur ist.
Alles in allem, mag ich die Cover dieser Reihe sehr gerne, weil sie in sich stimmig, simpel aber dennoch ausdrucksstark und einfach schön anzuschauen sind.^^
Der zweite Band widmet sich Hunter und wie bereits erwähnt, ziert das Cover wieder ein extrem muskulöser männlicher Oberkörper. Dieser scheint sogar noch kräftiger zu sein, als der letzte. Mir persönlich ein wenig zu bullig, aber für die Alien Breeds bestimmt sehr passend. Wieder lenkt ein Spiel von Licht und Schatten unsere Aufmerksamkeit auf die ausgeprägten Bauchmuskeln und die Arme. Die Daumen sind lässig in den Bund der Hose gehakt. Name und somit Buchtitel sind diesmal in blau gehalten und auch der abgebildete DNA Strang ist passend dazu in blau und grün Tönen hinterlegt.
SCHREIBSTIL:
Ich kopiere hier einfach mal ganz schamlos eine Teil aus meiner Review zu Rage, da sich am Schreibstil der Autorin nicht wirklich was geändert hat...
Ich habe mit dem Schreibstil der Autorin etwas zu kämpfen. Es gibt mehrere Dinge, die mich stören. Manche mögen meinen eigenen Präferenzen zuzuschreiben sein, andere sollten eigentlich jeden Leser stören und könnten ganz einfach vermieden werden.
Zuerst einmal, zu den wirklich störenden Dingen:
Solche Fehler sind für Leser einfach nervig und ärgerlich, weil sie das Lesevergnügen doch erheblich beeinträchtigen und doch so einfach vermieden werden können. Ich weiß, dass man seine eigen Fehler meist überliest, aber wenn man ein Buch veröffentlicht, dann sollte man meinen dass da vielleicht mal jemand Korrektur gelesen haben sollte. Ich habe ja nichts gegen ein paar Typos hier und da. Das kann passieren und wenn es sich in Grenzen hält, will ich das gerne verzeihen...aber es sollte nicht ausarten. [Wieder handelt es sich um die Erstausgabe von 2014, vielleicht gibt es inzwischen eine überarbeitete Fassung.]
Nun zu den Dingen, die mir nicht so gefallen haben, aber absolut auf meine Vorlieben zurückzuführen und keinen Fall allgemein gültig sind.
Aber wie gesagt, das waren persönliche Punkte, und ich will da niemandem auf den Fuß treten, dem das gefällt. Mal ganz davon abgesehen, dass jeder Autor so schreiben darf wie er will und ich deswegen auch keinen Punkt abziehen würde.
STORY:
Pearl, die Tochter von Präsident Jackson befindet sich als Volontär irgendwo im brasilianischen Dschungel um den Menschen vor Ort zu helfen. Nach nur wenigen Wochen,wird ihr gesamtes Team gefangen genommen. Während die anderen Helfer und Ärzte getötet werden, hält man sie als Geisel fest.
Hunter, bei dem der Name Programm ist, wird ausgesandt um Pearl zu retten, denn er ist der beste Spurenleser und Jäger unter den Alien Breed. Tatsächlich schafft er es, Pearl aus den Händen der Rebellen zu befreien, doch nachdem der Helikopter zerstört wird, welcher sie hätte ausfliegen sollen, beschließt Hunter sie zu Fuß in Sicherheit zu bringen. Und während der sechs Tage im Dschungel kann so einiges passieren...
FAZIT:
Mhhh...dass der erste Band eindeutige Parallelen zu anderen Geschichten aufwies, hatte ich ja bereits in meiner Review zu Rage deutlich gemacht. Ich bin mir jetzt nicht sicher, ob ich Gespenster sehe, wo eigentlich keine sind, aber...
Was die eindeutigen Parallelen angeht, hat sich der zweite Band gemacht. Es ist nicht mehr ganz so offensichtlich und die Autorin hat auch einiges an eigenen Ideen mit einfließen lassen. Doch Hunter erinnert mich dennoch an Slade. Hierbei handelt es sich ebenfalls den zweite Band, wieder von der New Species Reihe von Laurann Dohner.
Außerdem wird in diesem Band ein neuer Breed erwähnt: Freedom, der zum Anführer und Vertreter für seine Leute wird...eindeutig JUSTICE. Zusätzlich wird die Gründung der ABU - Alien Breed Union erwähnt, klingt ein bisschen nach der NSO - New Species Organisation.^^
Auch erinnert es mich etwas an Ace aus der Life Tree - Master Trooper Reihe von Alexa Kim , wo sich das Paar durch die Außenbezirke schlagen muss. (Allerding weiß ich nicht, welches Buch zuerst erschienen ist).
Aber genug von irgendwelchen Ähnlichkeiten. Wie gesagt, es ist besser geworden.
Allerdings muss ich sagen, dass ich mich nicht mit Pearl anfreunden konnte. Anfänglich war sie sogar eher unsympathisch mit ihrem „das sag ich meinem Vater“, 'Ich würde dafür sorgen, dass mein Vater ihn bestrafte. Er würde dafür bezahlen, dass er mich so behandelte.'
Erstens klingt das nicht nur unglaublich verzogen, es ist auch lächerlich, da der Grund für ihre Verstimmung eine Abfuhr von Hunter war, nachdem sie sich ihm regelrecht an den Hals geworfen hatte -nackt. Joa, definitv ein fetter Schlag für das eigene Ego, aber so ein Verhalten ist kindisch...das sag ich meinem Papi! Keine sehr nette Charaktereigenschaft. Und auch später wird sie nicht wirklich sympathischer. Jessie ist da wesentlich unkomplizierter und es nervt einfach, dass Pearl immer gleich so austicken muss.
Und wieder diese unerklärliche Sexsucht. Sie befinden sich wieder mitten in der Wildnis, auf der Flucht vor bewaffneten Rebellen, die sie töten wollen, ungewaschen, verletzt und müde – aber knallen würde sie ihn trozdem noch. Was geht in den Frauen vor? Auch wenn die Kerle echt unwiderstehlich sind, ich mag es nicht, dass sich die Frauen immer so schamlos anbieten...das wirkt iwie nuttig...
Genauso später: Vor allem bei der Art der Breeds könnt ich nach einem Tag vermutlich schon nicht mehr laufen, nach einer Woche würde eine normale Frau vermutlich an Erschöpfung sterben. XD
Wie auch schon bei Rage, geht einfach alles VIEL zu schnell und zu einfach. Wie hat sie es geschafft so lange zu überleben bevor sie Hunter kennenlernte?
Drama, Drama, Drama...
Ich befürchte immer, dass die Autoren denken, dass die Geschichte zu kurz ist und krampfhaft versuchen noch ein paar Seiten rauszuschlagen indem sie einfach irgendwas schreiben. Aber meist macht das alles nur schlimmer. Bitte, wenn eine Geschichte fertig ist, dann ist sie fertig! Belasst es dabei.
Ein Augenzwinkern für die erneut subtile Andeutung auf den nächsten Band...wie immer^^ „ein weiterer Alien Breed konnte gerettet werden. Ein junger Bursche von 19 Jahren.“ (TOXIC = Band 2.5)
Alles in allem würde ich Hunter 2.5 Sterne geben, weil zwar mehr eigene Ideen in dieser Geschichte stecken, es aber überflüssig in die Länge gezogen wurde und Pearl einfach nur genervt hat. Da gefiel mir Rage doch noch besser.
Und zum Abschluß^^ und als kleine Aufmunterung für diejenigen, denen die Review zu fies war (ich bin nämlich ungern gemein):

~ DEFINITIV ZU VIELE AUSRUFEZEICHEN!!! Ich finde, dass hat schon etwas genervt. Erstens waren es einfach zu viele und zweitens wurden sie teilweise an absolut unpassenden Stellen eingesetzt. Wenn jemand leise und sanft spricht und nicht unbedingt mit Nachdruck, womöglich etwas Belangloses sagt, dann brauch man am Satzende kein Ausrufezeichen...PUNKT! XD
Ich konnte die vorherrschende Stimmung meist nur schlecht einschätzen.
~Die Zeichensetzung war zwischendurch einfach nur verwirrend. Ich bin auch kein Profi, was Kommas angeht...aber mir kam es so vor, als ob da einfach viel zu viele waren. Ich hab teilweise echt den Überblick verloren.
~das Phänomen „tut“...“was tut ihr mir verheimlichen.“, das...das geht einfach gar nicht! Das ist absolute Kindersprache.

~häufige Wortwiederholungen in kurzen Abständen, was mich persönlich immer stört, da man ja einen enormen Wortschatz zur Auswahl hat. (und ich meine nicht nur, dass sich das Vokabular was Geschlechtsorgane angeht auf Schwanz und Pussy zu beschränken scheint.)
~schnelles Erzähltempo
~teilweise wirklich simpler Satzbau und sehr kurze Sätze, was manchmal etwas abgehackt wirkte.
~Anglizismen sind schön und gut. Aber ich störe mich an so Sätzen wie: „es könnte vielleicht Fun sein“, „ich bin tougher als...“ (was ist an taff so verkehrt?), „Relax“, „Trouble machen“. Auch das altbekannte „killen“ tauchte wieder auf, aber mein Favorit war: „Hunter war busy damit beschäftigt.“ XDD herrlich. Nicht nur, dass das furchtbar klingt, es ist auch noch doppelt gemoppelt, da busy ja beschäftigt bedeutet. Hunter war vermutlich beschäftigter, als beschäftigt.
~Die Ausdrucksweise war teilweise doch etwas grob und derb. Besonders während der Sexszenen fand ich es etwas vulgär, was aber auch an den benutzten Worten liegt, die mir im deutsche einfach nicht gefallen wollen. Im englischen störe ich mich daran komischer Weise gar nicht, ich finde nur das es im deutschen einfach komisch klingt, wenn da „ich ficke deine Pussy steht.“ Nicht nur, dass ich jedes Mal lachen muss...im wahren Leben, hätte ich jedem Kerl der, so was zu mir sagt vermutlich schon eine gescheuert. Und ich bin definitiv nicht prüde veranlagt, aber dirty talk ist das auch nicht wirklich. Und auch hier war das Vokabular etwas eintönig. Mehr als stoßen und rammen war einfach nicht drin.

Alles in allem würde ich Hunter 2.5 Sterne geben, weil zwar mehr eigene Ideen in dieser Geschichte stecken, es aber überflüssig in die Länge gezogen wurde und Pearl einfach nur genervt hat. Da gefiel mir Rage doch noch besser.

As hinted at in Rage, this is the story of where the president's daughter Pearl meets the Breed Hunter. The President enlists Hunter's help in getting back his daughter after she has been kidnapped by Rebels in the Brazilian jungle. Their camp has been attacked on the way there, two soldiers are all that is left of the encampment.
The two walk their way across the jungle to a town in the middle of the jungle, finally make it to the city only to have Hunter arrested (what is up with the jealous humans that obviously don't compare to the Breeds?) for the death of one of the two soldiers. While Hunter is out of the way, his accuser has attacked and kidnapped Pearl.
Hunter saves Pearl a second time and they head to Eden, where danger is hidden in plain sight. This is where the story takes up in Rage where the President frees Rage and the other imprisoned Breeds. After having settled in the danger comes out of the shadows and once more Pearl is in danger and Hunter saves her once again.
This story gets your blood pumping, your heart to racing, and keeps you within the story until you have finished the book.
I completely recommend this book to anyone who has read the Alien Breed story!

Alien Breed Hunter had just returned from hunting when two soldiers arrive to tell him that he is to go straight to see the Governor. Once there he talks to the president via a link from Earth and is told that his daughter Pearl has been kidnapped and that the President wants Hunter to go in and rescue her. in the South American jungle the two soldier who were there to be his back up go off on their own and when Hunter gets to the camp where Pearl is being held he sees that they have been tortured and killed. As he works his way in silently killing the guards he tries to find Pearl's scent in among all the other unwashed bodies. After killing the guards in front of the tent and dragging them into the shadows between the tents he enters the tent to find Pearl sleeping . He covers her mouth before he wakes her tells he that he has been sent by her father. They go out the back of the tent but they are soon being pursued.

Spoiled first daughter meets alien breed Hunter
Hunter is aptly named, he is at home in the jungle he is asked to search for Pearl, the spoiled kidnapped daughter of the President.
As the story unfolds Pearl discovers the difference between being shocking and rebellious for reactions and because it is easy, and respecting others, and serious situations. In that sense, for Pearl, this feels like a coming of age story, where Hunter, who lives in tune with, and aware of, his surroundings, accidentally goes on a journey of self-discovery in response to Pearl's challenges.
I haven't read the previous story, with that in mind, this stood well on its own, and made for a solid done in one quick read, though I suspect a greater understanding of the Alien Breeds as a species is established in the previous book, and here only gets a few broad brushstrokes -- enough so I understood, but sketchy enough I'm tempted to go look for Rage's story when I have a chance.

The attraction between Hunter and Pearl was intense and overwhelming!

It was a dangerous place to work in and needed someone with very good tracking survival skills the gain her release. The President called of one of the Alien Breeds who he trusted to go in and save her. Hunter found her but keeping the feisty woman safe was not easy when she challenged him at every turn. Pearl had been attracted to Hunter from the beginning and she teased his control from ther beginning making it increasingly hard to resist until heeventually gave in. This was a fast paced story that hooked me from the start. The characters were believable and the attraction between Hunter and Pearl was intense and overwhelming.

So, this is very similar to Laurann Dohner's New Species series. There are differences and that is why I wanted this to be better. Everything felt really rushed, and the dialogue didn't read as real. It seemed forced and not how normal conversations go. It felt like the author was trying to force the characters to say certain things and go where she wanted them to go. There were parts of the story that felt so very real and kept me engaged, but the President of the US has the ability to pardon pretty much anyone for anything. The fact that he doesn't use seems weird, especially, for the reasons he stated. It would've been better had he not used the power because he wanted to show that the Alien Breed are innocent, and didn't want to sully their reputations with a pardon.

I have not read the first book in this series by Melody Adams so I was not to sure what to expect but I did enjoy it. The story of Pearl and Hunter is fast paced, drama filled and very sexually hot. Pearl is kidnapped and Hunter, what a name, is sent by her father, the President, to find her and bring her back. There are a few more kidnappings along the way and Hunter keeps saving Pearl, especially after he realizes that she is his mate and he is not giving her back for anything.
This story is easily a stand-alone in the series but I am looking forward to seeing how it fits with the rest of the books in the series.

What a great book. I was hooked from the beginning!! I can not wait to read the next book!
When Pearl is kidnapped by insurgents, Hunter is asked to rescue her. He finds and rescue, though in the process their escape route (the helicopter) get destroyed. Hunter decides it would be safer to go through the jungle to safety.
From the beginning, they were drawn to each other. Hunter fights this cause he was afraid to hurt her, since he was an Alien breed and they are more violent. Pearl did not believe that he would and tries to prove that to him.
Does she succeed? Will they succeed against the soldiers?

I liked this book and thought it was a much more enjoyable read than book one. I really liked Pearl and Hunter. I thought the chemistry and attraction between them was easy to feel and even more importantly I could feel an actual emotional connection between them. This was a big issue for me in the first book. Some drama, action and adventure add extra flavor to the entertaining story. I think there is so much potential in this series but in my opinion it is not being fully tapped into. I will be reading the next book and hope to continue to see more improvement, as I still feel that more depth and emotions are needed. This is my frank, freely posted review.

When the Presidents daughter is kidnapped he asks Hunter for help finding and rescuing her. If their is one thing Hunter does well it is hunting prey. So he has no problems finding Pearl the Presidents daughter. Once she is rescued Hunter plans on asking the President to help his people to become self ruling on Eden.
But first he has to get her back safely and to keep his hands off of her. Pearl has other plans. Since she has admired the Alien Breed since their discovery. And she finds Hunter very attractive. This is a great story and continues the Saga of the Alien Breed. I look forward to more.

The president's daughter Pearl is kidnapped so the President asks Hunter the alien breed to find her and bring her back. Hunter was wanted the alien breed to govern themselves and feels this is a good way to brooch this when he finds and returns Pearl. What Hunter didn't anticipate was his attraction they had to each other. He sticks to his guns and tries to resist Pearl's attempts at seduction. There was some lighthearted interactions and lots of passion.

Pearl is the president’s daughter unfortunately she is kidnapped by the terrorist. Now they need the help of an ultimate hunter alien breed they call on Hunter. He will go into the jungle and do what no man can in the process their adventure these two will fall in love. But the action doesn’t stop when they get rescued. All hell breaks loose when they go to his world. There’s a lot of unknown enemy in the mist and the colony must come together to stop the evil plot.

So far so good. I thought there was a good amount a drama, adventure and definitely good amount of hot smexy sex scenes. He really does like to dominate. It started out a little slow. But picked up once Hunter was called upon to rescue the president's daughter called Pearl. But life isn't all flowers and rainbows in Hunter's world either. There's trouble brewing all around them. Will they survive it all?

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Alien Breed Hunter has gone to the President to see what he wanted, the President said his daughter Pearl has been kidnapped, she wanted to follow Toxic after Hunter saying no to her. There are some twist and turns, a lot of emotions, laugh and crying.

Excellent book!
Hunter and Pearl are perfect for each other. She is a strong willed woman who loves being dominated by Hunter, in a good way. The translation for this book was much than the first, it was more like it needed editing. I hope we get them all in English, very enjoyable.

I liked Rage but Hunter and Pearl and more realistic. Their chemistry and attraction was very dynamic. There was drama, adventure, steamy sex and lots of growth between Hunter and Pearl. I enjoyed this story it has plenty of action, adventure and some sexy scenes. Hunter has been asked by the president to help find his daughter Pearl but Pearl doesn’t want to go back to her controlling father she likes it though when Hunter dominates her. This is a great read and it’s so much better than Rage book 1 it’s improving as this series goes along.

Pearl Jackson gets kidnapped and her Father the President send for Hunter an Alien Breed who he believes is the only one who can get to her safely. This is a well written book in the Alien Breed series. This characters in the book need to work together to get what they both need. This story overlaps with the first book and can be read alone, but it is better read as part of the series. Good read

This second book is fast paced and filled with action. The action, adventure, suspense, and intrigue kept me glued to my kindle and wondering if Hunter would get his Pearl. Each book just keeps getting better and better. I'm definitely hooked on these sexy aliens.

I enjoyed the story overall. The main characters were likable and I liked them as a couple. The story really centered around them without a lot of interaction with side characters. My only real complaint is that the ARC I read really needed some editing. Hopefully that happened. Enjoy.

Hunter doesn't really like humans but once he rescues Pearl, she starts to grow on him.
The writing was a little better but still seemed like a poor translation. I also didn't like that Hunter kept fighting his feelings for Pearl.
There was some overlap with the 1st book which was a bit repetitive.
