Book #8, in the Warriors Series

This series is a must to be read in sequence in order to know how the secret black ops first got together and how they progressed through the times without wondering who is who and what goes where. Although I do not recommend it, “Zero” can also be quite entertaining as a standalone thriller if you wish to skip the previous installments. Book 8, as in all the previous novels starts strong and keeps the heart racing and the reader on edge throughout.

Zeb Carter and his crew with FBI agent Sarah Burke are once again the main players in this fast pace highly explosive story which centers on terrorist holding hostages captive in a hotel and the kidnapping of two high profile boys. Lots of fighting techniques, computer jargon and minutia details shows how the author knows his subjects and enjoys relating his knowledge through his exciting and captivating drama. The novel is well- constructed to be quite visual and believable. Although the plot is complex, it is easy to picture and follow what is going on. It is a heck of a story and a great mystery that keeps its secret till the very end. A bit of love in the future may come next for one member of the team….who knows what Mr. Patterson has in store for his characters. I really like the characterization they are well-developed and far from being static. Surprises over surprises are in the making I am sure….. Till next time….

Another tense and thrilling adventure I enjoyed and glad to add to my library.

Zen Carter's no-name private black ops team is at a birthday brunch at a DC hotel restaurant near The White House when it is taken over by mercenaries who kidnap the Veep's son and his best friend. From these first action filled pages, the reader gets an exciting ride through many twists, turns, red herrings, and a few more action-packed scenes. This is 8th in the series but works just fine as a standalone. There are plenty of surprises along the way, and some chuckles too - such as how certain tv character or actor names pop up in a bad guy here and a school administrator there. I will definitely read more of this series when I need a thriller and studly special forces fix.

Ty Patterson delivers another thrilling tale of Zeb Carter and his crew in ZERO, the latest installment of the Warrior series. Each novel is stand alone, but if you read them in order, you’ll enjoy how the characters develop from one book to the next. Case in point is FBI Special Agent Sarah Burke, who we met in the previous Zeb Carter story, HUNTING YOU. She’s back in ZERO, and we get to know here better as the plot unfolds. I expect she’ll become a regular.
Patterson sets a fast pace from the opening page, and never turns down the heat. The Vice President’s son is kidnapped—but by who and why? Solving the crime and bringing the guilty to justice will require the combined talents of Carter’s team plus some timely assistance from Agent Burke. With the kidnappers seemingly one step ahead of Carter, ZERO will have you pinned to your seat late into the night as the plot builds to a surprising conclusion that you’ll never see coming!

Hard to put down

I am an avid fan of the genres of crime, murder, mystery and intrigue, and this book did not disappoint. I have read quite a few books by this author and I must say he is fast becoming a firm favourite. Again the hero's of this book are Zeb Carter and his team and again they help the FBI, but that is where the sameness ends. It starts with the team celebrating a birthday, but this means them being in the wrong place at the wrong time for the bad guys. There are twists and turns all the way through this book right until the very end. I am not going to go into more detail but will just say that if you like books with crime, suspense and intrigue then I can't imagine you not liking this one

Zeb and all of his merry band are together in a D.C. hotel to celebrate Claire's birthday. Being the operatives they are the notice something just isn't right about the group of men filtering into the hotel. Zeb has his people go tactical to different parts of the hotel in expectation of what is to come.

Followers of the series know what comes next. Along the way there are a couple of twists to keep things lively and interesting.

A worthwhile series for those who enjoy breaks from more serious thrillers.

This book is about pedophilia and the kidnapping of the Vice President's son. Again Zeb and the crew come to the rescue. Yay!! It is a nice touch for Sarah Burke to be enamored with Broker.
Twice now as I recall Zeb has communicated with the spirit of his (wife/child) family which I find sentimental and quite beautiful. We have not been made aware of the (how or why) deaths of his family, however, we are aware of his great love and loyalty to them. On a lighter note, I find Werner to be a great comedic pause in the drama.

Clare’s birthday, and the twins arranged a surprise evening, at a high end restaurant, in a hotel. Men entered with heavy gym bags, that alerted them. A hostage situation , with silent gunmen . A fast action plot of how they could attempt to get out of this with almost five hindred people being held.
It was a cover for something else, and uncovering the secrets that two senator had been doing. Again we have Sarah Burke with the FBI and her part, and later joining them in another birthday get together.

Cool. VPs is kidnapped with his friend. All the intrigue kept me reading till done. I like how things aren’t left open by the end every loop is closed. I like how as the story goes along it’s easy to follow the changes, the move from one character to another, the move from one place to another. I like this guys book. Would buy the next one just by his name alone regardless of the storyline knowing it would be a good one.

A bit of light reading, perfect for walking on the treadmill or when standing in a long line at the store. Zeb Carter and his team find themselves as hostages in a convoluted plot to kidnap the son of the U.S. VP and his friend, who themselves hold secret knowledge that could be devastating to the kidnappers. Entertaining, if a bit formulaic.

The stories in this series are all good, but you can see improvements with each one. My biggest complaint is the poor editing in places. I keep using “Report content error” on my Kindle in the hope that someone will actually read and act on the suggestions. It tends to distract from the story at times because there are so many errors.

Great book. I like the team work and trust in Zeb's team. Each individual has their own strength and they are respected for that strength. The force the team is up against is very intelligent and he was trained by special forces in the military and knows how the police force works.

The prose construct is designed to convey terseness and speed, but was distracting to me. certain scenes were unnecessary but plausible. I liked the end but I'd have preferred some evidence to how Zeb figures it all out

Another absolute thriller by Ty Patterson. Zeb and his crew once again fight a demonic arch villian committing heinous crimes on behalf of an unknown corrupt politician. Action and suspense aplenty from start to finish. Recommended reading.

A good read. A lot of action, when everyone wasn't just hanging out. Some pretty far-fetched data gathering in microsecs, but well written. Not my favorite genre, but then I did give it ****.

Terrorists hold hundreds of hostages captive in a hotel and are building up to a horrifying event. Among the captives is U.S. Special Forces operative Zeb Carter.
Zeb Carter is outnumbered. He has no backup, He is the hostages' only hope. His Dying Can Be Fatal for them

Zero is when action explodes.

Terrorists have captured a high profile hotel in Washington D.C. and have complete control over hundreds of hostages. They are experienced, efficient, ruthless, and are working to a plan; a plan that involves mass execution. The hostages include U.S. Special Forces operative Zeb Carter, who was dining in the hotel with friends when the terrorists attacked. Zeb is experienced, efficient, ruthless when he has to be, and has no plan. His goal is to survive; his Dying Can Be Fatal for the hostages because the killing is only the beginning.

What did I like? Well now how could any woman not fall in love with Zeb, I mean besides being ruggedly handsome he has this loyalty thing down pat. I know that if I could find a man that was that loyal I would never let him out of my sight. The next thing is his love and devotion to his country. This world needs more men like him and all of the members of the agency. Having grown up with all the men in my family including my own sons having been in the military, my love of the outdoors plus mine and my husbands background in law enforcement, I totally get this whole series. I am also into computers and would absolutely love to have Werner as my buddy.

Now for this book! The first thing that I like about this series is family feeling that I get when I read and the relationships that have been built among the team. The way that they care for each other and the loving way that they work together even with the business that they are in and including Clare! I have read every book in the series and I look forward to the toys that the author comes up with, they are fascinating an even though some of them are way out there to some of us, they totally fit with the storyline..

What are you going to like? Each book in the series can be read in any order although I highly recommend that you do them in order. The author has a unique way of catching you up on any background info that might me needed to keep you in the know without making it boring. You will love the fact that the whole teams believes in protecting women and children and you don't want to mess with that belief. A storyline that is out there but will keep you glued till the end. Even with the out there .. it is totally believable and so interesting. The thought and research that it takes to write a story like this shows in the details. Such as the fighting techniques, the training regiment that they put themselves through, the computer jargon, the country backgrounds and I could go on with many more items that show that this author has researched everything and tried to be as accurate as possible.. One of the moves that he has incorporated into how Zeb fights is the Jackie Chan moves . I love those movies, my sons use to tease me about it. You will love the humor and camaraderie between them even in the most dire situations, in fact the humor throughout the books and yet there is an underlying sadness with each member. As the books go on you will see the friendships and loyalties that grow with each story. Each one builds and adds this interesting addition to the storyline. And finally if you haven't figured out by now you are going to fall in love with each and every character that is added. You will hate all of the bad guys and raise you fists high when the jobs are done!

I highly recommend this series and suggest that you watch out for this author cause he is going places. I have received this book as a member of the launch team and everything here is said as my own opinion.

Great Story. Well written, fast paced, full of action, suspense and intrigue. Great plot. Totally engaging, interesting and entertaining. If you like mystery/thriller/suspense stories this one is absolutely worth your time.

While this book is part of an ongoing series it can definitely be read as a stand alone book. This is the second book in the Warriors Series I have listened to and I liked it even more than the first book I read. I need to go back and read the read the rest of the series in order. Just to experience all the adventures Zeb Carter and the team go through.

Steve Carlson does a really good job with the narration. Pleasant voice. Clearly spoken. Nice even pace. He has a calm kind of voice, very easy to listen to. His narration added to the enjoyment of the story.

Chapter 3 repeated line about 4 1/2 min in

Wow! Excellent story. Why would terrorists capture a high profile hotel in Washington, DC? What was the purpose? They kidnapped 2 boys. But why? And where are they now? Although the FBI doesn't want their help, Zeb Carter and his team get involved. I don't want to give anything at all away. This is my first novel in the series and it was exciting, intelligent, written tremendously well, narrated fantastically by Steve Carlson, and just thoroughly absorbing. Great story, great writing. Now I'm in trouble because I have to go back and read the previous 7 novels. I just could not put this down. I had to listen from beginning to end. I can't say enough about how good this book was. I recommend it to everyone. It is a must-read.

Zero by Ty Patterson

Although this is Book 8 in the series, I was able to read it as a stand-alone. However, I enjoyed it so much that I am now starting from Book 1 in the series! When no one even knows the initials of this very black ops group, you expect them to stay firmly in the shadows. However, they have helped so many people in other countries that they are now International favorites! They picked up a few more people to help in this book. As I said earlier, I read Zero as a stand-alone. However, I highly recommend that you start with Book 1 and meet the group a little more slowly! Notice that I used three!!! exclamation marks in this review. Go for it!!!

Fast paced thriller that is well-constructed and depressingly believable in this day and age of domestic violence and terrorism. The detail and characterization are added bonuses to the driven plot. Even though I listened to the audio version, thanks to the author, it was still easy to follow the complex plot. Since this is the 8th in the series, I will now go back and read the earlier stories. This does work as a stand alone, but I would like to know more about these characters! Thanks to Ty Patterson for the copy of the novel.

Pace of the book is pretty good, not dwelling on too many secondary love interest or background storylines. Unsurprisingly for the genre, characters are pretty one-dimensional. The basic premises driving the bad guys were kinda weak, and the good guys were a bit too good for my liking. It was one of those books that I wanted to finish, both because I did want to find out what happened and because I wanted it off my Kindle.
