Heavy on data but light on prescriptions, this is an excellent study that helped me understand the current situation in the American political landscape and much of my feelings and confusion in regards to it.

You can get a quick overview and take a quick quiz to find out what "hidden tribe" you belong to here:

https://hiddentribes.us

I would recommend taking the quiz first before you snoop around the web page or download the report. You may have less bias and get a better result by taking the quiz first. It only takes about 10 minutes, and you do not have to submit your email address to get your results.

The report is available for download free at that site.

As mentioned above, taking the quiz will yield your results on the screen without surrendering your email address. I did not try downloading the results of my quiz, so I can't say if an email address is required for that. Downloading the Hidden Tribes report does not require you to log on or surrender your email address. The length of the document is 160 pages, but there is a lot of graphs, bulleted lists, and white space. It is well worth downloading and reading.

This is an exhaustive study by a group called More In Common which surveyed & interviewed a large percentage of the American population. The results show something that I've felt for a very long time. We are not as polarized as the mass-hysteria media & social media would have us believe. There are more people in the middle, coined rather eloquently by this study as the "Exhausted Majority," who are willing to listen to both sides, and compromise. However, unless we stop allowing the mass-hysteria media to fuel apparent polarization, we will soon descend into a place that we may not be able to come back from. This study gives hope that we truly do have "More In Common" than some would have us believe and that we can come together again.

Only 3% of "progressive activists" are black. Except for one category, progressives are the least racially diverse group in the country. And they are tied for being the richest.
