This short story was written during Karly Violet's early writing career. The plot is engaging, and the suspense is well-maintained. It's definitely worth reading.
The author came very close to perfection. It would have been perfect had she seized the opportunities presented by the plot to create a more balanced portrayal of the husband's simple pleasure versus the wife's passionate encounters. Showing how these encounters more strengthen their marriage would have been essential.
I own all her books and have read about half of them; the rest are on my reading list. In my opinion, she has a masterful grasp of the theme of libertinism.
Many of her stories are simply delightful, thanks to their suspense and the spice of the situations. They are well-researched and almost always end happily, on an optimistic note, which is very satisfying.
