After completing her education in creative writing at the University of California, Los Angeles, Maria went on to win a multitude of prestigious awards, including the Sheikh Zayed Award, Katara Prize, Shoman Award, Arab Forum Award, and Daybreak Award. She was also the recipient of the Claire Carmichael Novel Scholarship and the Hedgebrook Fellowship, and was shortlisted for the Itisalat and Arab Forum Awards.
As a highly respected author and speaker, Maria has been invited to share her insights at various high-profile events, including the Riyadh Book Fair, Sharjah’s Reading Children Festival, Emirates Literature Festival, and Abu Dhabi Book Fair. Prior to her work as an author, Maria also made a mark as a screenwriter, having written for the popular comedy series Maraya and creating animation for Spacetoon. Additionally, she served as an editor-in-chief for Fulla Magazine. As Maria puts it, "I'm a good storyteller."

التوتة بدها سلّم... والسلّم عند النجار... النجار بدو مسمار ...والمسمار عند الحداد... والحداد بدو بيضة... والبيضة عند الجاجة...

وكذلك أطفالي وكثيرون غيرهم. قصة ذبابة طارت فوق الغربة تنساب بطريقة مشابهة، حتى تنغلق الحلقة في النهاية ويتعلم الطفل عن دورة الحياة
تبناها الكثير الكثير من الاطفال على اليوتيوب ومثلوها. قصة بسيطة وممتعة.

من القصص الرائعة التي تشرح السلسلة الغذائية بطريقة سهلة ومبسطة. ولا يمل ابني الذي يبلغ من العمر ٥ سنوات من قراءتها.
