I am a USA-TODAY best-selling author with 41 years, 76 books, and numerous writing awards behind me. My major genre is historical romance. I have always written for standard publishers but am now writing strictly for Amazon so I have more freedom to write real history. My most recent publication is SHADOW TRAIL, the 6th book in my Outlaw Hearts series. I also wrote and published my first full-length contemporary story, DANCING BENEATH YOU, in September 2022, a romance involving mystery and a depiction of reservation life in the Badlands of South Dakota. My best sellers are my SAVAGE DESTINY series (7 books) and my OUTLAW HEARTS series. See my website (www.rosannebittner.com) for details on all my books - most available for Kindle and in print. I am known for great love stories filled with real history and high emotion. I have also written many Native American stories, all based on real history.

I love American history. For those of you who have not yet read my books, my stories are generally set in the American West of the 1800s and feature vividly described, historically accurate settings that span the US from Missouri to California, from Canada to Mexico. Many of my books portray the poignant history of our Native Americans, and though the characters are my own, I use real historical locations and events in all my novels. I have also written about the French & Indian wars, American Revolution, the War of 1812, the war with Mexico (the Alamo), and the Civil War.

National magazine ROMANTIC TIMES has called me the "Queen of Western Romance" and an "emotional powerhouse." My husband and I have traveled the west for nearly 40 years and I have visited just about every location mentioned in my books.

4.5 Logan's Pioneer Princess Stars

Wow this was my first book by Rosanne Bittner and I really loved it. How the hell have I never heard of Rosanne Bittner before? I truly can't believe this is was the first time reading RB. I'm always looking for good Western Historical Romance authors, and God knows they are few and far between. I'm so glad I seen this book on Netgalley, and gave it a try. You can bet I'm gonna go back and read other books by RB. Logan's Lady was a wild west ride with lots of action, strong women, hard working men, and one hell of a sexy cowboy.

Logan was so delicious. He had the super sad troubled past, and the scarred soul that would make any woman want to heal his wounds. He was rugged, brave, and a protector of women and children. Top that off with his alpha ways, his kick ass gun skills, and cowboy charms, and you have one panty melting cowboy. His past was ugly, and my heart broke for him, but I love how he handled his pain. Hunting down bad guys more dead than alive! Elizabeth was very naive, a rich Lady from England with big dreams of freedom in America. Though she was book smart, strong willed and brave she had a lot to learn about the real world. She lost so much on her trek to America, but she grew so much in this book. I loved that she was honest and spoke her mind and I really liked that she didn't play silly games. Logan and Elizabeth were total opposites, but they complemented each other well. Their relationship was a slow burn, but when it happened was worth the wait.

I loved that this book had a lot of meat. There was plenty of character development and I got good sense of who Logan and Elizabeth were, and I connected with them. I loved them together and once Logan fell in love with Elizabeth he was all in. This book kept me glued to it. Never was I bored. This book didn't paint a cute easy picture of life in early America. The love that the story touched on the ugly and evil that happened, the lawlessness that hurt many people. This book really worked for me. The only reason it's a 4.5 stars and not 5 for me was it took to long for the hero and heroine to meet(over 30% on kindle) and I wanted that sooner. Still a great book and I can't wait to read more from this author. I am hoping she writes more in this world maybe we can get to see how Logan and Elizabeth are doing setting down.

This review was originally posted on Addicted To RomanceI received this book for free from Sourcebooks Casablanca in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Logan's Lady is a standalone western historical romance and I have a soft spot for Rosanne Bittner, her books are so richly portrayed and her love stories so emotionally driven and Logan's Lady is no different. I was curious to see what would happen in this story. I was a bit heartbroken that Outlaw Hearts was over but as soon as I picked up this book I remembered why I fell in love with this author a few years back. She definitely knows how to write her western romances especially the bad boy gunslingers of the wild west. I will say that this couple isn't together all the way through the story, since there are other plot lines that need to develop before they get together but once they get together sparks fly.

Our beloved story begins with our heroine, who is a lady of the Ton, she grew up with an overbearing brother. but she has dreams of her own, dreams of America and adventure. And when her other brother is kicked out of the house for having a kind heart but causing a scandal, she goes with him claiming their inheritence and heading to America to start fresh. But on her way to America, her brother dies and then she is finds herself without any funds because they were stolen from her by a man that she thought she trusted. But when in defense she ends up killing him, she is in trouble and is rescued from jail by a sexy gunslinger who is also a bounty hunter who is on the hunt for the same men who stole her money and jewels.

Without those funds, she has little hope of surviving in America. Logan is a bounty hunter, lives on the plains and hunts down the criminals. He is very famous for being good with his guns and not many men can match up to him. But when he sees this woman who is desperate but strong willed, he is captivated by her. But he knows how dangerous the west can be, but Elizabeth is determined to prove herself and show her inner strength. While on their journey in their hunt for the band of thieves and murderers, a love develops between two complete opposites, but sometimes passion and abiding love paves the way to a happy ever after that is unexpectedly found.

Logan's Lady is a breathtaking romance that sweeps you up off your feet and I found this story to be so delectable. I definitely had a blast with this book here and couldn't get enough of this adventure that Rosanne Bittner takes us on. I think the one downside to this story, is that it takes a while before our hero and heroine meet. Now the author, I understand why she wrote it this way. She is building up the characters, we see both the lives of the hero and the heroine as they slowly come together in the center of the story. I did appreciate how this was written, but I will admit I just wanted to skip to the middle to when they get together because I prefer seeing a couple together throughout the majority of the story. I will say that Rosanne Bittner did a fabulous job though in writing this book, because normally this type of style of writing would drive me crazy but I found this part of the story very informative and thrilling at times and a bit heartbreaking at times as we see what the hero has suffered in his past, and how much conflict the heroine has to rise above.

The romance that builds between these two is pretty close to instant love, within a week they are declaring their love together. But it definitely seems logical for this to happen, they help each other against the conflicts they have to face up to. I did like that these are both such strong willed characters. Elizabeth, she is a bit naive at times, but she makes up for it in courage and tenacity and always willing to try new things and rise above her sheltered upbringing. Logan is pretty badass, and boy I loved him so much especially in how protective he is. He doesn't allow any woman or child to be hurt. We see his abilities throughout the first half, so you know that he is very capable in helping Elizabeth track down the thieves and con artists. At first there is quite a bit of angst between these two. Elizabeth and Logan do not like each other at first, but help each other but throughout their road trip adventure, we see that angst slowly soften. Logan is more resistant to the relationship than Elizabeth turns out to be because of his past, and their class difference and how opposite they are from each other. But both Logan and Elizabeth soon begin to realize that its the important things that they have in common.

Overall I found Logan's Lady to be a thrilling adventure from the balls in London to the wild west that delivers a epic love tale of sensuality and courage! AWE INSPIRING

Rosanne Bittner is known for her epic series, Savage Destiny, Outlaw Hearts, Mystic Indian, and Blue Hawk Series, as well as her many stand-alone books, however, Logan’s Lady just might be her best accomplished stand-alone book to date.

Logan’s Lady has the feel of a great older Rosanne Bittner storyline.
Logan’s Lady is beautifully written with all the drama of the western frontier, her fan’s have come to expect.
Logan and Lady Elizabeth swept me away with their verbal sparring and comical banter. The magnetic pull between them had me falling in love with these characters.

I was so moved by this story as Ms. Bittner weaved Logan and Elizabeth into the fibers of my soul. Their love for one another is what we all long to find in our own lives.
Deception, heartache, and the will to survive out on the unforgiven open trail made this an exceptional western.
A beautiful story of never giving up on your freedom to live your dream.
5 stars!!!!!!
It being set in Kansas, the state I live in made it even more special to me.

If you are looking for a read brimming with loss, love, and lawlessness.
Just keep reading!
If you seek the story of a woman who cares to leave the pampered yet stifling existence that is her life as an English lady of the aristocracy.
For the adventure, danger, and freedom of the American West.
Just keep reading!
If you want to meet a rough and tumble bounty hunter. With a blazing gun, a heart of gold, and his own brand of justice.
Just keep reading!
If you want your villains down and dirty. And your heroes and heroines even dirtier.
Just keep reading!
And if you want to know just how it is that a delicate English rose, and a thorny American bounty hunter find forever in the Old West.
Just keep reading Logan's Lady. The latest offering from Rosanne Bittner.

This is a read that starts out deceptively predictable. With a very young and idealistic Lady Elizabeth Baylor, and her younger brother William setting out for adventure in America.
Determined to leave behind the rules and tyranny of both their domineering older brother, and the English aristocracy.
Only to meet with misfortune long before even reaching the continent.
Leaving poor Elizabeth alone and a literal "deer in headlights.
Innocent, obscenely wealthy, and painfully ripe pickings for the man posing as her newfound protector.

But fear not.

For this where things start to get interesting. As the reader starts to discover just how bad of a "bad man" Elizabeth's supposed savior is. This also where Logan and the lady's paths start to converge.

It is not long after that that 28% Mark (kindle approximation). That the two meet under very dire circumstances. Beginning the adventure earnestly.

Watching Elizabeth gain her sense of self and become a heroine in her own right. As she and Logan travel across the country to right the wrongs that had been done to her. Is nothing less than stellar.
Adding to this is the "Dirty Harry" style vengeance of leading man Logan.
And the utterly heart stopping romance.

This book's plot is one that blends action, romance, and compelling characters with the lore of the Wild West. To craft a story that would be a dream come true to any believer in fated happily ever after.

First off Thank You Netgalley for the ARC of Logan’s Lady in exchange for a honest review. Of course I knew I would love this book. It’s written by the Queen of the Western Historical Romance the GREAT and WONDERFUL Rosanne Bittner. I have been reading her books for 30 yrs now and one doesn’t read a author that long unless her books are absolutely phenomenal of course Mrs Bittner’s are. Logan Best is great at was he does which is a damn good Bounty Hunter. Logan is hired by the Beautiful Regal Lady Elizabeth and he soon realizes there is way more to this beautiful lady than looks alone . She is one strong capable determined to make it in the Great American West. Lady Elizabeth also learns Logan is more than a rough and tough bounty hunter. The story and adventure that plays out in this books pages are definitely cinema worthy. The love and respect Logan and Elizabeth come to share... well is what Love stories should all be made from. I hated to put this book down , at times it was next to impossible to put it down. Beautiful Beautiful Bittner Love story telling at her Very finest!!!! Rosanne Bittner’s soon to be released Logan’s Lady is very highly recommended and not one to be missed

I wrote this. A fun project because of some wonderful banter between an uneducated, rough and tumble bounty hunter and an educated, wealthy, "proper lady" of title from London, England. Anybody would enjoy this story!

The untamed land of the Wild West drew people from many walks of life and became the great equalizer. To survive and thrive, these people had to respect this land and adapt. The author brings the stories of two such people to life and gives them a long hard road separately and together in a dark, gritty and sensual western romance.

Logan's Lady tells the story of determined, but innocent Lady Elizabeth Baylor who leaves the cold, calculating and confining life in her oldest brother's home along with her willing, but troubled younger brother to find their dreams in America. When Elizabeth encounters Logan, she has already experienced loss, grief, disillusionment and an education from the school of hard knocks. She wants to recover what was stolen from her and have justice served on the men who robbed her. For that, she needs one of the toughest hard men in the west. She needs bounty hunter, Logan Best.

Logan has lost his wife and child, fought a war, and now his life is bare of anything, but the satisfaction of hunting down the vilest criminals and bringing them to justice one way or the other. He prefers the 'dead' in 'dead or alive'. A spoilt English aristocrat as a riding partner was never in the cards, but his cold heart thaws little by little as Elizabeth sticks it out through rough times and bad, learning and growing from the inside out. He fights it, but she may just be his second chance at love if he can get over his past losses. Meanwhile, a band of raping, pillaging killers are ready to turn things around and make the hunters to be the hunted.

Logan's Lady is full of lore and attention to historical setting. There is a wealth of background and attention to the greater cast of characters and circumstances. It takes it's time letting Elizabeth come into her own and for Logan to fall in love. It reads more like saga at times or even western fiction taking a much less romantic view of the west and putting Logan and Elizabeth through the ringer. I appreciate this style of storytelling. I thought Elizabeth was woefully naive at first and wasn't really into her until the author began the process of change. I could totally buy into this unlikely pair because, while attraction was instant, companionship and love came along at a more steady pace. Now, that said, Logan was a lusty man and Elizabeth lost her inhibitions in private with him. She learned to become a confident lover and a match for Logan in all ways.

Incidentally, I should caution some potential readers. Some rather brutal things happen. Gun battles, sexual assault, and more, but it is not gratuitous and fits the times and setting.

In summary, this is a powerful historical western romance that tosses in some class difference and second chance, journey of the heart and mind as well as the actual trail. I count this author as one of the premier western romance writers and point her stuff out when readers want romance set in a well researched authentic western setting.

My thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Logan and Elizabeth's story is a giggle-filled, heart-melting, and nail-biting journey to get to their well deserved and much needed happily-ever-after.

Elizabeth had some growing up to do and life lessons to learn - and then add in the culture shock changes going from London to the wild west of America and she was definitely in over her head. She had an underlying strength to her that pulled her through all the situations she faced. My heart went out to her through the beginning struggles and then fell in love with Logan right along side her.

Logan had a larger-than-life feel to him, flowing off the pages with his physical presence, his control, his honor code, his protectiveness, his power, his charm, and his sense of humor. The demons chasing him worked to give him the inner determination to heal and built the foundation for him to become stronger than his crippling past. There's a reason women were drawn to him, and I was not immune to his power. Just Logan being perfectly Logan kept me coming back for more of the story and made me fall for him hard.

The only thing I wasn't a fan of was that it took till about 40% before Logan and Elizabeth even met each other. I understood the importance in us living out the back-story and following their journeys to each other, because that gave us the exact mindset they were in when they each were ready to finally find the other and were in desperate need of the other. And in fact, it was rather fun to realize what all decisions and actions had to take place in order to get a woman like Elizabeth across an ocean and into a situation where she fell under Logan's protection. Add in getting an intimate view of Logan's sense of honor and respect and understand why he'd respond the way he did to Elizabeth makes that lack of time together at the beginning worth it. Although, I still would have loved to have experienced more of Elizabeth learning new survival skills from Logan. What helped to make up for it for me besides how quickly they bonded together once they were together, was the epilogue at the end which jumped forward about a year and gave us a glimpse of their settled future.

Logan's Lady is an awesome story to spend a weekend being lost in. Definitely not one to miss if you're a fan of Rosanne Bittner and/or historical western stories.

I had a bit of a wince early on in the story when an aristocratic lord in 1870’s London criticised his younger brother for ‘hanging out with’ an actress, and wondered if the whole story was going to be full of such contemporary slang. I’m glad I stuck with it, though, because the rest of the book does feel solidly period, bringing the Wild West vividly to life through the lens of Lady Elizabeth, who chooses to make a new life in America out from under the thumb of her controlling eldest brother.

I do feel I should warn readers who may fall rather for Matthew, Elizabeth’s kind and obviously dyslexic brother at the beginning of the book; he gets killed off very quickly, thus leaving her at the mercy of strangers and eventually bringing her into contact with Logan Best, the bounty hunter who’s the hero of the story.

With a wife and child lost to him in the most brutal fashion, Logan enjoys hunting down the lawless who prey on the weak. He was already on the trail of the man who stole Elizabeth’s fortune when they meet, and needs no incentive to take on the job to help her. He’d far rather do the job alone, but she has no intention of being left behind, and out on the trail her determination impresses him despite her previously pampered existence.

The pair seem like an odd couple, and it’s a slow process which sees them come to first a mutual respect and then to love. Elizabeth learning just how hard frontier life is from a farmer’s wife she stays with for a few days was a really interesting glimpse into just what life was like in the era. Because of the few anachronisms and my disappointment that Matthew didn’t eventually turn back up alive, however, I can’t quite give this five stars. I’ll settle for a solid four.

This was another great Bittner book! I enjoy her westerns and she writes great men. It was a fast read for me and that’s not usually typical for me anymore. It was a bit tough because Logan and Elizabeth don’t meet until a quarter of the way in, but the buildup made it sweeter. My one quibble was Elizabeth and how she cried all the time, but I do get she had to grow up and prove herself. I loved them together but I’m sorry, no one tops jake and Miranda (Outlaw Hearts) for me!

That said, I’d definitely read more books on this lovely couple. Oh, and thank you Roseanne for not separating them for any length of time in this one! Sometimes there’s so much heartache in her books and it’s hard to take lol. So, I loved that even though it was a bit sappy at times, their love was still tight.

I haven't read a book by Rosanne Bittner in a long time and boy she does not disappoint! Lady Elizabeth lives in England with her overbearing old brother who declares that her best friend and other brother is being kicked out of the family! Elizabeth decides then to leave for America with her beloved brother William. Unfortunately, Elizabeth finds herself alone in America and bounty hunter Logan Best comes across her in jail no less! I loved the chemistry between these two along with the demons that make Logan who he is. A great ending for these two! Loved, loved this story!

This is a story about two people who seem unlikely to ever become a couple. What I liked was that there was a lot of action, but also romance. There was chemistry between the two main characters. What I didn't like was that some dialogues felt like a real person would never say thing like that, not even when you consider this is a historic romance.

This book is being considered for my library's Readers Choice program. Right now it's on the long list, so I read it to see if it should be included for the main program. If it were just up to me (and trust me, I talked it up to the committee), this should definitely be included.

I grew up watching Lonesome Dove and, as odd as this may sound, Logan's Lady reminded me a LOT of that story. Not in that the story is exactly the same, but like LD this book had a great sense of scope when it comes to stories of the American West. It's almost a love letter to the men and women who struck out for a life in the wilderness because where they had been living had become unbearable.

For instance, Lady Elizabeth Baylor should be happy with everything her English heiress's life has given her. Money, security, standing in society - but it comes with a cost. Her brother, Jonathan, rules the family with an iron fist and it's clear that Elizabeth is tired of his tyranny. After he kicks out her other brother, William, for doing something courageous that will be looked down upon in high society (because, seriously, screw those guys), Elizabeth leaves her brother's household and takes her inheritance and William and they go to America.

Meanwhile, bounty hunter Logan Best works to bring justice to a lawless American West. His troubled past has led him to take jobs where he hunts down the very worst of humanity and cashes in the bounty on their heads. When I said this book reminded me of Lonesome Dove, Logan is basically a younger version of Gus, as far as his personality is concerned. He cares about people who can't defend themselves, respects and loves the ladies, but doesn't make a big deal out of what he does. Mostly, he keeps to himself.

Logan's work brings him in contact with Elizabeth when the slimy "banker" (really a sex slaver and a swindler) she trusted to help her and William get to Denver kills her brother and sends off her money with one of his mooks and intends to sell her to the highest bidder. For spoilery reasons, he fails in part of that, but Elizabeth is still left on her own and destitute. At first, Logan just wants to do the job he's been hired to do. But one thing leads to another and, look it's a romance. Happy Endings are required in this genre :) And this happy ending is VERY satisfying.

This story bring in everything I love about Regency Romance, as well as the scope of an epic Western. While Elizabeth is pretty naive in the beginning, she quickly learns what this new life she's chosen for herself is going to require. And she finds that she doesn't want to be this spoiled, pampered heiress. She learns to work hard and rises to the occasion when she and Logan are put in danger and their survival depends on her.

For all the talk in the romance genre of historical heroines who are independent and who "don't need no man" and who are basically modern women in corsets LARPing around a historical time period, Elizabeth Baylor is one of the very few romance heroines who actually walks the walk and feels like she could be a real person from history. Kudos to Rosanne Bittner for actually getting that part right. Not many romance authors do.

If you like romance, but some of the usual tropes are getting a little too stale for you, I highly recommend this book. If you like westerns and adventure, I highly recommend this book. If you want something new and different, I highly recommend this book.

If you haven't noticed yet, I highly recommend this book! :)

LOGAN’S LADY is as rich in characters as it is in details of the American West, realistically portrayed with the good, the bad, and the vile on display for all to see.

Lady Elisabeth simply wanted to escape from under her cold, calculating brother’s roof. She saw the American West as her only chance at freedom but the romantic tales of the West are far, far different from the reality. Elisabeth has been lied to and robbed by a man with a handsome face and not one kind bone in his body. Now she’s out for justice and if she cannot have that she’ll have revenge. The one man she’s been told that can provide that is Logan Best… and she’s not letting him out of her sight as he tracks down a scoundrel.

Logan is a bounty hunter that is very good at his job, in fact, he’s more inclined to follow the “dead” part of Wanted: Dead or Alive posters. Taking on Elizabeth may be a fool’s errand but a good paying job is a job to Logan. His heart is as cold as ice and one beautiful lady, even one as naive as Elizabeth won’t change that… until she starts to feel the changes that the freedom of the West brings to people, until she begins to be braver, bolder, more secure in herself and her abilities. It’s not long before this Elizabeth is working her way into his affections, something he never dreamed would ever happen again.

I was easily swept up in this epic saga of Logan and Elizabeth’s adventure. Watching Elizabeth slowly lose that naiveness, to begin to trust her abilities, to learn and grow into a far different woman than she might have been was a fascinating journey. I liked the former Elizabeth, I adored the new woman she becomes. Logan has good reasons for the man he’s become yet one strong, stubborn, determined Englishwoman is about to show him that there are second chances in life… if we grab hold of them. I enjoyed watching the changes in Logan as well. He never loses his sharp edges, but they are softened a bit by his emotions for Elizabeth.

If you love a Western Historical Romance that goes deeper into the reality of the American West in all of the good and bad parts of history then you’ll enjoy LOGAN’S LADY. It’s full of rich details, interesting characters, intriguing storylines and a sense of stepping back in time. I enjoyed every moment in this story and would not hesitate to recommend it to any Romance reader.

Logan's Lady is a beautifully written story where the hero and heroine truly come from completely different world's. Lady Elisabeth Baylor is from a predominant family of the United Kingdom, while Logan Best grew up as an orphan and fled an orphanage at a very young age.  I truly loved the antics between the hero and heroine in this book. Bittner did a great job writing this book from the standpoint of a sophisticated woman ending up in the wild west. That alone set up the story to have some funny and often terrifying situations for Elisabeth.

Lady Elisabeth Baylor lands in America after her and her brother William leave London to get away from their elder brother Johnathan. Johnathan actually kicked William out of their family mansion and Elizabeth refused to stay behind or let William leave alone.  Elisabeth lived a very scheduled life as a wealthy English lady that had many servants that did everything for her. Can you imagine her in the wild west? She did almost the exact same things every day and lived a very boring life. She had dreamed of the adventures of the Wild West of America after reading about it in Penny Dreadfuls, Dime novels to Americans. Being young, naive and trusting Elisabeth is dupped by a poser before her ship even docks in America.

Lady Elisabeth may get her revenge and her stolen property back as her luck changes when bounty hunter Logan Best finds her in a jail cell wrongly charged with a crime that could get her hung. Logan Best is a ruthless, vengeful bounty hunter that vows to hunt down the man that calls himself, Sir Richard Alexander. Lady Elisabeth gets a crash course on what it will be like to live in West as she and Logan seek her stolen property and what an adventure it will be. An adventure that Lady Elisabeth may or may not be prepared for.

My only complaint about this book is that it ended. I can only hope that Rosanne Bittner gets started on one of many sequels to this book. There is so much more to know about Logan and Elisabeth's story.

THE LADY AND THE BOUNTY HUNTER

Lady Elizabeth Naylor and her brother William, who was thrown out of the families mansion in London , England, have decided to leave England for America. They both went to the family solicitor to collect their inheritance which they will use in America to invest in gold/silver mines.
Things DON'T work out as the brother and sister had hoped and dreamed of. While crossing the "Big Pond," both sister and brother meet a wolf dressed in elegant sheep's clothing..scary!! His name is Sir Robert Alexander (con-man) with a glib tongue 😝, bewitched our Lady Elizabeth and her impressed her brother William which we later discover he got her brother drunk for information about them and brother William disappeared into the "Big Pond" as he and Sir Robert headed for his cabin. Lordy the man con-man was working his mojo to separate Lady Elizabeth and now she's alone..ready for the plucking!!
There are some really reprehensible people living and breathing to take advantage of people..what a 🔥hot mess.
She meets Logan Best and he gets his lady. All these com men who sell themselves to woman who they feel they can dominate with false kindness, a glib tongue 😝 and all the time thinking how he's going to spend her money. Nasty bunch of people and it hasn't changed just the time.
Lots of intrigue, mystery and how folks attitudes change about other ethnicities that were prevalent in the world, Native Americans, Chinese, Irishmen who constructed the railroads from the West of the Mississippi to the California coast. Reading the "Penny Dreadful" novels didn't help much until your faced to faced with cowboys and Native Americans.
A nice series about how women of the West are portrayed..not bad

My second historical western book by Rosanne Bittner. This story brought to mind an old Berenstain Bears book I read to my son when he was little. It included an analogy or comparison using apples to illustrate good and bad people. The momma bear shows a polished red and perfectly shaped apple (Robert Alexander's character) to her daughter bear and then sliced it open where it revealed a wormy, rotten interior. Then she used another apple that was less red and not so well shaped where the inside was perfectly sweet, juicy, and contained no worms (Logan Best's character). And that's the moral of this particular book.

The reader will figure out the direction of Elizabeth Baylor's character very quickly and early in the book. She's introduced as "Lady Elizabeth Baylor" from a rich family in England who is used to having an aid help her dress and do her hair. So the reader sees a somewhat spoiled woman anxious to learn about the great west in the United States. Which she definitely experiences personally.

The story has lots of excitement and drama. There's romance, but it's limited and provides a good balance to the overall story. I enjoyed it but not at a four or five star level. But I will read more work by Rosanne Bittner.

When I saw there was a new book by Rosanne Bittner, I could not wait to read it and I knew it would be amazing! She writes the quintessential western romance that pulls at the heart and warms the soul. This is the story of a woman's longing for adventure by traveling to America and leaving behind the strictures of England.
But as Lady Elizabeth finds out, there are unscupulous men everywhere in the world. Being stolen from, she enlists the aid of one Logan Best, bounty hunter and one tough guy. Logan has had his share of loss and heartache and my heart ached for him. He was a protector of women and children, though a fiece man to be dealt with when it came to injustice As he first meets Elizabeth, he thinks her just a naive lady from England but as they spent time together, her bravery and strong will came out.
These two characters were wonderful and the attraction between them builds up on their journey. I enjoyed every second and page and truly did not want it to end. But be assured, this will go on my keeper shelf to be read again as all of this author's books seem to be and I know you will love it just as much as I did!!

What a lovely book! I haven't read a good Western romance for a long time, but if it involves a sheltered, spoiled, "proper" English lady...well, you just dug into my niche there XD

Elizabeth wanted to experience the Wild West she read in her dime novels, and she certainly got her fair share, from cowboys and Indians, to riding horses and learning how to shoot a gun. She learned a lot of things, and learned from her mistakes, too. She fell in love with a wild bounty hunter that would have all the tongues wagging in England, and it was all just perfect! I was a little stunned at the language and the violence (Rosanne Bittner held NOTHING back, lol), but man, what a read.

I've read more than my fair share of Wild West romance novels. I think that was the first genre I ever started on when I started reading adult books. Basically, they all became the same after a while, but this one was a marvel. Kudos to Mrs. Bittner for making me enjoy the Wild West romance again!

We meet Lady Elizabeth who decides to leave London with her brother hoping to find adventure and new life in America. However naively she meet someone on the ship who lies to her by making her believe that he will marry her only to steal from her leaving her broken hearted (hope she learns to not trust so quickly). She decides to go after him and had Logan to assist her getting back her stuff. Logan was supposed to be a mean bounty hunter only with desire to get his bounty but he quickly changes when he meets and gets to know Elizabeth. These two people grow up which was needed and eventually find love.. Not a bad story but had too much stuff that I truly couldn't have cared less about. And was an instant love to me..Still enjoyable and good enough to past the time.

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) Voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.

This was my first Rosanne Bittner and western romance book and it was an enjoyable read till I stopped 3/4 in and couldn't bring myself to finish it. I had a feeling of where this stories ending was leading too and it was unnecessary for Elizabeth's brother to appear, nearly making for a sour ending. Logan and Elizabeth had fantastic chemistry together were what kept me engaged, but some of the dialogue exchanged between the two was too cheesy and unrealistic for my liking. Shame the smut factor was only one scene and nothing more than that, adding some spice factor at the end would have made this more enjoyable. The plot was well thought out and riveting. shame I never finished this but I couldn't. I'll perhaps try another one of her standalone titles.

Logan's Lady was a Rosanne Bittner special! There was a beautiful spunky heroine, a formal Lady at that. There was the requisite brave, flawed but honorable, bad guy killing hero. There was angst, heart wrenching tragedy, wicked dastardly villains. There was western drama, gun fights, Indians, lawmen and outlaws. There was faith, fear, hate but at the heart of this story an all conquering kind of love that had me reading the book wanting to get to the last page but never wanting the story to end! Rosanne Bittner continues as a favorite author. A very very talented lady! I can't wait for more in the series!

I have no idea how to rate this book. I was tracking with it for the first half, then the confrontation happened between Alexander and Elizabeth and it went downhill from there. I couldn't stand Elizabeth - she was entitled, naive, demanding, and I found her ridiculous. I didn't buy in to her falling in love with Robert, I thought it was a ruse, but no. She kept on bringing up how strong and independent she was, but trusted/didn't trust Logan and was terrible to him in the beginning (and would also cry/throw tantrums when she was called on her behavior). I hit the 230ish page mark and just didn't care anymore.

I must say I like Rosanne Bittner writing style. With that said their are a couple things I didn't like about the H/h in this story. First, the heroine fell in love with the bad guy WAY to easy and quickly to the point that it took away from when she fell in love with the H. Second I didn't like that the hero thought the heroine looked and reminded him of his dead wife and kept thinking about his dead wife the WHOLE story, to the point I had a hard time believing his love was really for the heroine but more for the fact that she fit the mold for his dead wife.

Author, Rosanne Bittner, is amazing in the Western Romance genre! I love all of her books. The American West in the 1800’s was a harsh and dangerous environment. One had to become tough as nails to survive it. It is also beautiful where anything is possible with hard work and perseverance. In this novel we find Lady Elizabeth Baylor, a wealthy English lady yearning for adventure in America and Logan Best, American gunslinger/bounty hunter, who lives his life by the day after a great tragedy. Their lives will entwine and now their adventure begins!

I could only get to 90 pages. The story is so hard to get through. You want this strong female character, but instead, you get a naive, pampered woman who only talks about her wealth. She talks about how educated she is and how much research she's done of America but then doesn't make any decisions herself.

I even skipped to a "steamy" part and was annoyed by all the dialogue that was happening. It doesn't seem real conversations from real people.

Its very rare that I can't get through a book, but this one really failed.

Another Hit

Rosanne had done it again. A great love story that I didn't want to end. Actually read another book in between because I didn't want this one to end. A story about two people from different walks of life who met and fell in love. I've read many of her books and this one was one of the best. I hope she develops this into a series.

Very enjoyable western romance about Lady Elizabeth Baylor who left her wealthy but boring existence in England for adventure in America. She has all her money and jewels stolen and teams up with bounty hunter Logan Best to track down the men who stole from her. In the process, she finds passion, love, and a happy future she would never have predicted. A light, fun read.
