Charles Soule is a #1 New York Times-bestselling novelist, comics author, screenwriter, musician, and lapsed attorney. He has written some of the most prominent stories of the last decade for Marvel, DC and Lucasfilm in addition to his own work, such as his comics Curse Words, Letter 44 and Undiscovered Country, and his original novels Light of the Jedi, The Endless Vessel, The Oracle Year and Anyone. He lives in New York.
This was just more “filler” than anything. The art is basic at best. I’m hoping #3 is better because so far the Return of Wolverine is not living up to my expectations.
We really did not need all those Hunt for Wolverine stories. This "return" is better than all 4 of those other stories. A real mystery. New powers now?
Great 2nd issue and even though I thought I was going to be bummed about McNiven not being the artist (since he's one of my favorites) Declan Shalvey was awesome (as he always is) so it wasn't even a thing. Great solid story with some awesome as fuck artwork along with it.
( and even though Wolvie's new costume looks like he works as a sushi chef, I like it. Black & red is always good. Just ask Deadpool.)
This issue really didn't work for me in the least. The Ana character is just terribly written.
What is this, some sort of one-dimensional soap opera character? I don't know of any parent who would start to make out with a person while their child has been kidnapped.
And the fact that they have Ana playing up the helpless damsel-in-distress, only to see her bust out the spear gun and waste one of the baddies that Logan just happened to not notice diving off the back of the boat they're in pursuit of.
The only redeeming factor in my mind was the ending. Frankly, this is the only reason I haven't taken it off my pull list. But this story just gets one more shot from me.
