Earlier this year, I read Colet Abedi’s novel, Tame, which was anything but. So when the chance came along to read the Wild Duet, I couldn’t resist the temptation.

In this case Wild refers to the main character, Wylder Buchanan, a young woman in her 20’s who is up and coming in the industry side of show business. When the series begins, she has recently broken up with her boyfriend after discovering he has cheated on her multiple times. Due to circumstances beyond her control in her love life, she’s remained a virgin. But she’s decided the time has finally come to change her status. When she confesses her thoughts to her best friend, Kerri, who secures them both an invitation to one of Hollywood’s most exclusive clubs, a place where Wylder is guaranteed to lose her virginity.

Wylder’s scheme plays out to perfection when she meets a gorgeous and anonymous man at the club. Their attraction is immediate and irresistible. Within moments of setting eyes on one another, they disappear into a private room for the rest of the night. The next day, Wylder returns to her usual life although thoughts of her night with mysterious man are never far away. When she is sent on a work errand she unexpectedly comes face to face with one of Hollywood’s most famous directors and realizes he is the stranger from the club.

Once their mutual anonymities are stripped away, Wylder and Jamie Donovan confess that one night wasn’t enough for either of them. The two embark on a passionate affair, one that poses far more risk for her career than his. When the Hollywood rumor mill goes into overdrive, Wylder is also forced to acknowledge how easily Jamie could break her heart. She must learn to navigate the emotional roller coaster of love in the spotlight, while also struggling to find her own professional footing. The author has a background in television and film herself, so the Hollywood setting of this novel comes across as authentic, which lends a deeper interest to a compelling if unconventional love story.

The first book of a duet ends on a doozy of a cliffhanger, so you’ll want to have to have the second book handy right away. I had to wait several weeks to see how Wylder and Jamie’s story concluded, and I tore through the second book in practically one sitting. Both novels are sexy and unputdownable. My one critique is that I ultimately didn’t see the need to split this story into a duet. Both installments are short and flow as one complete story. It’s possible that my rating would have been upped by a star if this had been a standalone novel, but this is a minor irk in an otherwise fantastic read.

Wilder by Colet Abedi is book Two in The Wild Duet. This continues the story of Jamie Donovan and Wyld Buchanan so you really should read the first book 'Wild' before this one. This book starts about two weeks out from the first book.
Jamie is still at a loss of what happened with Wyld that she is ghosting him but he can't get past his desire for her. Wyld still thinking that Jamie is a cheater just looking for fun time with her. Wyld feels that she had to protect her heart when she walked away. But now they have met up again and the hot feelings are still there that neither can get past. Enjoyed reading how their story played out. Will look for more books by this author for sure!

Talk about a stunning conclusion. Wilder is the second half to the Wild Duet by the incredible Colet Abedi. Book 1 left us wondering what would happen to Jamie and Wyld. Jamie the drop dead gorgeous movie producer and Wyld the lowly intern. Oh my stars, I love these two so much. I loved their struggle and I love, love LOVED their HEA.

Story Line: If you haven't read Wild yet, stop right here. Go read Wild, then read Wilder. They're a duet so... yeah... gotta read book 1 first. I finished book 1 in record time, waited oh so NOT patiently, finally received book 2 and I'm pretty sure I deserve to be in the book of world records for how lightning fast I finished it. But I had to know. I had to know how much Wyld made Jamie grovel. And if it was all a big misunderstanding or was Jamie really an unchanged man. I won't give away any spoilers, but what I will tell you is this - if you think you loved Jamie in the first book... just wait. You will fall head over heals for him in the second. Like the cynic I am, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak. But no, he's just that perfect. Jamie says the right things, makes the grand gestures, and is mouthwateringly handsome. Total book boyfriend material. And I will fight you for him.

Interaction: Wyld is jaded. I mean, I don't have room to talk, but still. She's got a chip on her shoulder and her guard is up. So of course the rumor mill is going to make her reinforce those walls she's built around her heart. But darn that Jamie. He just has to break that wall down. Brick by brick, and patient chapter after chapter, he proves he's not going anywhere. He's one of the good guys. I mean, he's still naughty and lickable, but he's genuine. And it takes Wyld a hot second to realize, just like me, that the other shoe - it's never going to drop. He's just that incredible.

Laundry: Can I just say I have never once wanted to go on a movie/commercial set until reading these books? But then there's that hot trailer scene, and next thing you know I'm googling how I can weasel my way onto any set just so I can try out some things first hand. OK, that's a stretch. I have zero self confidence so I would never go on a set, however the laundry scenes in this book make the fantasies run wild.

Depth: You know how I mentioned Wyld is jaded? Well that chip runs DEEP. Her parents didn't exactly give her the best example growing up. So when a possible cheating scandal causes her to bold and end things (end of book 1), I was surprised. She has seen how this sort of thing plays out with her own parents. And of course she wants to do everything she can to protect herself from that same fate. But thank you baby Jesus, Jamie is up for the challenge. He is patient with her almost to a fault. He gives her space at first, and then little by little he earns her trust and eventually, her heart. Their HEA is pure perfection. I absolutely loved it.

For a reader who loves books with lots of sexy times, this would be a great book. For a reader who wants a lovely story with lots of meat and angst, it falls short of expectations. This book continues the story about Wylder Buchanan and Jamie Donovan from WILD.

Wylder had a lot of issues related to fidelity. Her father is a serial cheater and her mother is addicted to her father. Furthermore, her mother constantly filled Wylder’s head with her complaints and whines about her father’s behavior and poisoned her mind about men and their douchery. As a result, Wylder has a deep mistrust of men and their motives. When her roommate Tony informs her that he saw Jamie having lunch and kissing a studio executive, she immediately assumes the worst and cuts communications with Jamie, stands him up for an away weekend, and lastly threatens him if he keeps hounding her. Instead of erasing her name from his little black book, Jamie perseveres and gets to her. And after some very necessary explanations, the action is back on.

Wylder and Jamie have very explosive chemistry. She captivates him to the extent that, for the first time in his life, he wants more. I could understand the attraction Wylder has for Jamie, she’s a normal girl, unimpressed by his money and fame, beautiful and kind, virginal and passionate, except that she’s very jealous and mistrustful. We get a lot of two emotions: lust and jealousy. We also get to see Wylder attempt to control her issues and realize not every man is like her father. What we don’t see is Wylder dealing with her mother and her crazy.

The book is pretty narrow in scope; most of it deals with Jamie and Wylder working, having sexy times, fighting, overcoming jealousy, Wylder doing some necessary growing up, spending weekends together and a lot of texting. There are inclusions of Wylder’s best friend Kerri who is blissfuly normal and her other roommate Tony, also Jamie’s sister Fiona, but they don’t have a strong presence in the book. With very few issues, only one plot line and such a narrow scope, the book ended being entertaining but a little shallow.

*** ARC Received for Honest Review ***

3.5/4 stars

This is a sexy, fun, Hollywood hills, beauty people with lots of money, book. Wylder is the young, fresh interim who is out of her league when it comes to Jamie f-ing Donovan, the big time movie director.

Lots of extremely hot sex and swoon worthy romantic gestures, throw in some funny roommate antics and you will find this easy read a great book to take to the beach or read when you simply want something fun. (Review by Terri "Jane")

In this Duet Series, Wilder by Colet Abedi picks up two weeks later with Wyld and Jamie. Colet draws us into the second book starting with both Jamie and Wyld in a bewildered state.

Wyld still thinks that Jamie was using her for good time, and cheated on her. But she doesn’t know the whole story. Whereas Jamie is confused at what went wrong with Wyld and he doesn’t know what to make of her. He is just as confused as she is. Wyld though feels that she has to protect her heart above all else. Wyld has many insecurities, but most women do. It leads to the reason why she is unsure of what happened with Jamie.

As Wyld and Jamie meet up again, they learn to overcome their misunderstanding of the situation. It’s not without struggles, but their relationship continues mature and advances over time. Slowly there trust is established, but will that trust and growth be enough to keep their new relationship and understanding working?

Wilder is the follow-up duet to Wild, a must read about Jamie and Wyld story and unconventional meeting that leads unlikely relationship. Most wouldn’t anticipate them together, but they lit up each other’s worlds in the most lively way. Discover steamy encounters, swoony worthy moments, and funny shenanigans of banter between this pair.

Wilder is the 2nd book in The Wild Duet and it continues seamlessly from book 1. After a brief misunderstanding, Jamie and Wylder's relationship continues to grow and develop and I just love them together. This novel was a sweet fun read and although short, I was hooked until the end. With amazing characters, steamy scenes and some interesting banter, this novel was a good read and I would recommend it.

Wyld and Jamie have been through alot and this ending was no different. I enjoyed their story and how they both overcame things. There was times I wanted to slap both of them...sometimes Jamie more than Wyld and vice versa but it was a set of growing pains for both of them that I loved watching happen. Enjoyable story!

Good read

Thoroughly enjoyed this series. The only problem I had, was that it ended too soon.
Would have really like if the author would have continued.

The second part of this duet was just as fun as the first. I seriously loved the leads, especially Wyld. She's a fun character that's got some layers to her, and I really enjoyed getting a look into the entertainment business through this world. Curious to see what the author has in store for future releases.

I want a Jamie f*cking Donovan of my own!!

Really sweet contemporary romance...which aren't usually my thing by the way. ....I tend to favor all that is dark and twisty. But after picking up Trouble at 99c and Wild as Freebie..and enjoying them and the lighthearted Rom Com progression( flavored with just a bit of darkness and angst),I had to experience the remainder of Jamie and Wyld's love story. The one complaint I do have ..is the brevity.I usually stick to KU due to budgetary constraints, so it was unusual for me to shell out 2.99$ for 170 some pages. Since book one was free..I allowed myself the splurge....as I found the change of pace and the sweet sexiness of this couple was well worth the price of admission!

Loved this mini series.

This is the continuation of wild. I love both of the characters in this book. Jamie is gorgeous, kind and considerate not to mention sexy as hell. Wylder is sassy, funny and sexy to boot. Their chemistry explodes of the pages and you get totally lost in the story. The friendship Wylder has with her friends is honest and funny. I got Wild for free on Amazon and fell so in love with the characters that I HAD to buy the next installment immediately. So glad I did. Loved it. However I find Wylders mum disturbing which your meant to but it still creeps me out lol.

Proof True Love Doesn't Always Run True

You have to read Book 1 before this book but you will love the characters and their story. One of the interesting things is how the heroine over comes her up being and is able to find love. The hero is every woman's perfect guy! I loved both books. There are many characters and each has their own voice! The Author truly brings her characters to life and you feel like you know them. Highly recommend the series.

I hoped that I would like Wyld in the follow up book, but sadly I didn’t. There is something about her that drives me crazy mainly her insecurities. I still adored Jamie as much as the first book.

I voluntarily reviewed this book.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review. I was looking forward seeing what happens between Jamie and Wylder. These two are perfect together. I just wish Colet would stop teasing me! These books are too short! I can’t believe there is another book I have to wait for! Come on Colet!

This book has one plot line and if you are looking for more outside of their relationship you will not find it here. She is immature and never experienced a relationship and he helps her grow up. You are introduced to many other characters whose story never goes anywhere.

Wilder was a good way to finish the duet, everything about this book was important but I also wish it were a little longer, that we got some answers for Tony and Kerri, but the story line was for Jamie and Wylder so I’m happy with where things ended.

Read both books in half a day. Very good books. Effortless reads. I have some unanswered questions. About who Trouble is? Or what happens at Christmas time? Or what’s up with Tony, I thought he was gay... is he bisexual?

This is book two and the ending of this story and there was no different from the many other things Wyld and Jamie have experienced.

My favourite part of their story was how both of them overcame adversity. Both of them had growing pains that I loved watching unfold...sometimes Jamie more than Wyld and vice versa, but it was a story you won't soon forget.

XOXO Lottie.
