Let's start off by saying that this is a new author for us and a brand new series and we really enjoyed our first read by them.
This is an unusual motorcycle club series in the fact that the members of the the club are not your typical bikers .These bikers carry their own baggage and their own scars and are dangerous in their own way but,they also have no trouble expressing their feelings and are not ashamed to tear up or shed a few tears among themselves.Several times throughout the story the guys teared up from hearing someones tragic story and I liked this for a change that the club and the men were not all hardened lost souls and this was a nice change that we enjoyed.We enjoy the dark and gritty but, every now and then its nice to change things up a bit.
The story took itself took on an usual turn of events when they needed to turn to outsiders for help and hire a security team to protect their businesses while they consecrated on taking on the turmoil within the club.
I wasn't sure when I first started reading this story if I was going to like it but, as the story progressed and we got to know the characters we really started to love them as they were a lot of fun and they all had a great sense of humor.
Monique is one of those main characters of the story and she is who made this story come alive.I found her to be funny,serious,confident,determined,caring,sensitive,accomplished and a survivor of the most horrendous circumstances.I loved the way she loved her kids,Dave,Mike with everything she had.
Monique after almost 15 years reunited with her long lost love who just so happens to be the President of Thorny Devil MC who is coming to seek the help from her security firm.Well let's just say their first meeting didn't go as plan and this is where things started heating up.I have to say that at this point in the story is where we started falling in love with this little bada** also know as Tiny to her team members. Omg ! this was one of the funniest moments in the story for me.
The story had a bit of on going drama where the past was coming back to haunt the club and its members but, it was also about second chances to righting the wrongs of ones past and making up for lost time hoping this time your going to get it right.I love stories like this as it has you invested with the characters from the get go hoping that they get their happily ever after after all and making things right for those you love most in this world.
I really enjoyed the story overall and really loved the characters and the laughs it brought us.I wasn't sure about Derrick at first aka Thor at the beginning because he seemed to a bit of a douche but, once we got to know the real him we found him to be funny,loving,compassionate and a genuine good guy under all that rough exterior.
My favorite character overall would be Monique as that girl surprised me at every turn and we loved her and her awe inspiring and vibrant personality.
I loved it and I am looking forward to the next in the series as we are really loving the characters so far and are looking forward to their stories as well.Overall I would call this a story on the lighter side of a MC romance gene but, with the romance and amazing character and the little bit of drama going on it was just enough to keep things interesting and engrossed in the pages.

This is honestly a tale of two books - one is about 63% long and the rest is 37% long. I loved the first 63%, and then I was like "WTF did I just read".
This MC story is set in Australia, which is different, yet interesting to me. I love a good MC story, and haven't read one for a while. Derrick is the President of Thorny Devils MC. He's skating through life, banging chicks, but not settling down. He and his guys seek out a security firm and imagine his surprise when at their first meeting, he is kicked in the stomach by the woman whose heart he broke 15 years earlier.
Monique runs a security firm and is one tough chick. Man, I really did like Monique. She is none-to-happy to see Derrick again after 15 years. But he's back and he's about to discover some interesting info. He's a dad to triplets.
Monique is happy their kids have finally met their father. She has two boys and a girl and the boys are their fathers clones. While I liked this part of the story, I will say it moved VERY fast, and the forgiveness happened VERY fast. I mean lightning speed.
Then there's an event that happens at the club, and Derrick ends up in the hospital, and then honestly, the book loses me. I'm not a prude by any means, and I won't spoil it, but happened was so not at all believable and ludicrous that I just skimmed the rest of the story. I have NEVER read an MC book (and I have read many) with a twist like this. It just did not make any sense at all. And this story just came out of nowhere.
There wasn't much backstory or character development either. The reason Derrick left Monique was summed up in a few sentences and she was all "oh, I get it" and I was all "what?" I really did like Monique though. She was a very interesting character, but her past, between giving birth and the present, is super dark, and it was kind of not believable that she would come out as strong as she did. It's a nice thought, but highly unlikely.
Overall, the story was just choppy. The turn at the 2/3 mark was just so bizarre to me.
If you are a fan of dark MC books, I would recommend this.

Derrick and his club brothers ran a clean club and had many successful businesses.What they needed to do was keep them as well as the club safe.
When the newest member suggested the security company his cousin worked at they voted and agreeing outside help might be what they need. Setting up a meeting with the company,Derrick had no idea how his life was going to change.
Monique Henderson had worked hard to make Henderson Security the successful company it was today.With the help of her late father and a great crew of men they were looking at expanding to other cities.When Mike informed her that she had a meeting with potential new clients, she had no way of knowing her world was about to explode.
When the new clients arrived and she heard Derricks voice she knew who he was.
Monique walked up to him and kneed him knocking the wind out of him.All hell broke lose,men grabbing her and she took them down,When the air settles Derrick really looks at her and can't believe its her the woman he loved and left behing to keep her safe.What he finds out is that she lived through hell and made it back to the safe side.While he is crushed by the hell she lived he's is happy she is back standing in front of him.Can he convince her what he did to her was for her own safety,and become the family they should have been.

Thor gives us a sweet second chance romance and so much more! I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I started this, it was different than I thought it would be. Not in a bad way. Thor is President of a MC, he's ran into some trouble and decides to hire out a security company. Monique is a single mom of triplets and running a huge security company when in walks in a blast from the past. With someone gunning for them, a jealous ex-lover, and a past filled with pain how will these two get back together?
Monique was a surprise. She's almost like a super hero. She's an amazing mom, a boss, a security expert, and so much more. She's an all around bad@$$. The love she has for those around her and her kids is breathtaking! She may have a tough exterior, but her heart is huge and made of gold. Thor is a different breed of MC President. I've not seen one like him, so he is unique. He runs a tight ship with his club and businesses, yet he also is a very emotional guy. It did become a bit of a turn off after awhile, since he cried a lot. Another thing is I have no clue who is who. There are so many characters that I got so confused. Thor is the first book in the Thorny Devils MC series. If you are wary of cliffhangers, you have nothing to worry about because this book is a standalone. This book is a contemporary second chance romance with a strong female that knows how to put her partner in his place when she deems necessary. I truly admire that because there are already a lot of damsels in distress in the book world. I have nothing against them and there are times when I truly enjoy the classic damsel in distress meets the knight in shining armor and/or prince charming. However, reading a book with a strong and independent female that can take care of herself while having a soft and vulnerable side is AWESOME.
The blurb of the book totally grabbed my attention. I mean, you get an MC full of hot bikers, a couple that gets their second chance at love, as well as a tingle of drama and action. What is there not to like? Monique is a very likable character. You find yourself hurting while reading her past and admiring her strength of character. I found myself wishing I had a tenth of her strength and determination. She is also a wonderful mom of three spitfires.
Thor is a pretty good hero. He is handsome, strong and devoted to Monique. However, there were times where I truly wanted to smack his head. To be fair, there were also times where I wanted to sit Monique down and tell her to stop being so stubborn. As you will find out in the novel, there are times where their relationship seems a little unreasonable. There are moments that feel too unrealistic. However, you find it in yourself to let it go because the chemistry and their feelings are strong enough to make you forget everything else that feels strange.
One of the things I loved about this book was the fact that the bikers showed a vulnerable and soft side. I can count on my hand the times I have seen bikers with watery eyes. I know not all the readers will welcome it with open arms but, I kind of liked the fact that this cliché was broken in these pages. Now, there are other things that did not feel right for me. Nevertheless, that has to do with my personal tastes rather than with the way the plot evolves. For all the people that are not okay with intercourse with multiple partners, there is some of this in this book.
This novel was a pretty good read. It was full of romance, action, drama and a touch of comedy. I highly recommend it and can’t wait for the next book in the series.

First book I have read from this writer. First book in this series. Freaking loved it. A great start to what I am thinking is going to be a great series. 15 years Derek (Thor) and Monica (Tiny) have been separated from each other. Derek needs help with his club so he goes to the security company in town where he runs into Monica. But she has quite the secret to share with him. Derek and Monica have a lot of catching up to do. I absolutely loved being able to watch these two catch back up with each other and everyone around them. This was a second chance romance storyline with a little MC action thrown in. It was indeed a great book from beginning to end with some amazing character. I absolutely loved it and cant wait to read more from this series.

I felt a great pull to these two amazing characters! Thor and Monique definitely have the second chance love down. Thor is kind but strong and Monique is one of the strongest female characters I have ever read. I feel that she forgave a little fast but I guess when 13 years have passed you can have some soul searching. There were a couple of scenes that made me wonder if I was reading a different book but overall this is a good effort on a new series and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Wow this was a new to me author and from 5% I was hooked!!!
There were a few scenes I personally didn't enjoy but the book as a whole had me on the edge of my seat.

I enjoyed reading this 1st book in the series, it was very gritty and captivating read. This story is about Thor (Derrick) and Tiny (Monique). It has some very strong characters and Monique is a tough female character lead and I love that. The chemistry between the two main characters is so good and hot that it kept me glued. I look forward to reading Hulk and reading more about the MC. I voluntarily read and reviewed a advanced copy arc.

A different MC romance with feelings.
Overall a good read, 3.5 stars. I love reading MC romance and this one has a different feel to it. The characters are very emotional on the soft side which I have never read from other MC books. I loved Monique’s character she was strong, feisty and the heat level she generates with Thor was hot. Lots of drama and surprise made for an entertaining story.

Let me start by saying this was the first book I have read by this author, but anyone who can reference Chad Kroeger songs, is a favorite of mine instantly!
This book drew me in and out me through the feels as if I were in the story.

It's always exciting to start a new series and it's even better when we get the chance to meet a new author. Despite the fact that it can also be a bit scary because we can't possibly know if we will like his/her writing. But being the bookworm that I've become the need to know overcame everything. And to top all that it's a new MC book... Happy....
Like I said MLJ Quigg is a new author to me and let's just say that I'm going to be following her.

Derrick aka Thor has been dealing with some club problems the last couple of months. He had lost a brother and can't find out who is behind all this. His MC is a clean club but something is happening out of his control. Being their president he needs to be there for his brothers and find out. But being the president has its benefits... He can have all that women he wants but he's getting bored and wanting to settle down but his chance was left behind 15 years ago...
Monique was left with a broken heart 15 years ago and that pain consumed her till today. She had suffered severely and when she thought that she was finally living he appears again and now what??
She had joined the military, then special forces and in a missing all went south. She was tortured and so much more... But she get out of it, moved on with her life and now he's back... What will happen?
Let me just say that when I ended this book I had a huge smile on my face.
Perfect plot, well written, super engaging and intense.
The chemistry the characters share is perfect and you can see what bounds them.
This story presented us with second chances, love, family, loyalty as well as crime, punishment, drama...
Sweet Jesus... The hot scenes are freaking amazing...you will need a few cold showers...
I had read this book in one setting and I loved every chapter. The way this lady ended each chapter made me want go keep reading non stop.
MLJ... What can I say? I really loved the way you started this series and I can't wait for what's about to come. Who are the next couple you'll be writing about?

Let me just say that when I ended this book I had a huge smile on my face.
Perfect plot, well written, super engaging and intense.
The chemistry the characters share is perfect and you can see what bounds them.
This story presented us with second chances, love, family, loyalty as well as crime, punishment, drama...
Sweet Jesus... The hot scenes are freaking amazing...you will need a few cold showers...
I had read this book in one setting and I loved every chapter. The way this lady ended each chapter made me want go keep reading non stop.
MLJ... What can I say? I really loved the way you started this series and I can't wait for what's about to come. Who are the next couple you'll be writing about?

Derrick: I made the biggest mistake when I left her. Now she's back and I am going nowhere. She will be mine again. She just has to get with the program.
This is my first book by M.L.J. Quigg and the first book in the Thorny Devils MC Series. This is a second chance romance that has one bad butt heroine in it. You know you probably shouldn't mess with Monique if you haven't seen her in fifteen years and suddenly find yourself face to face with her and she kicks your butt. Literally. Derrick is after all the president of the Thorny Devils and he and some of his members get their butts handed to them by Monique. I thought it was a good book till it goes a little bit crazy at the end and felt to me like I was reading a different book and I found myself not liking the second part of this book as much as I was liking the first parts. You will see what I mean when you read the book. Or it may not feel that way to you but it did to me. And my other reason for not five starring it was that I felt like they just got over stuff and things kind of just fell right into place for two people who haven't seen each other in fifteen years. Seems to me like you'd have a grudge that you have to get over and everything just can't be that perfect that fast. Or maybe I just wouldn't be that forgiving and make him work for it. Or perhaps kicking someones butt is the way to start off on the right foot again.

I've been going this story over and over again in my head, trying to decide how to rate it, and I've decided that I'm going to give it 5 Stars, and I'll tell you why. The heroine, Monique was straight up BAD A**, and any heroine who can take out a bunch of bikers has my vote. See, Derrick is the Prez of the Thorny Devils MC, and has a pretty good existence. However, he never has gotten over the girl that he left behind, Monique. When his club has some issues that need a Security Company, he comes face to face with her after 15 years, and he doesn't even recognize her. And it only got better when she lost it, and straight up kicked his a**, along with several other of his brothers, though they had guns. That was the part that I couldn't stop laughing so much, but my laughter quickly turned into some serious emotion, when she let him know what had happened since he left her behind. And while I did think some things were overcome too easily, when it came to them, it was a bit slower, plus again, BAD A** heroine trumps all! But then there came some super sexy times that didn't just light the sheets on fire, nope, they will light panties everywhere on fire. With an amazing cast of secondaries that I couldn't love more, and f-bomb worthy twists which kept me glued to my seat, this story did it for me, and I CANNOT WAIT for more from the talented MLJ Quigg! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Thor/Derrick, Prez of the Thorny Devils Mc, needs more bodies to take care of a problem with the club. The recommended Security Firm turns out to be owned by his former lover and-- surprise--baby momma of triplets. His kids. When she sees him after all these years her reaction is priceless--and not fun for him. It turns out she trains her own teams and is one heck of a bada&&s.
Monique is a great mom, strong businesswoman, and survivor of a horrendous military torture experience.
I liked Monique and her strength. I found her a character worth remembering. However, after her experience and her believable hesitance to have sex with Thor, the latter experience seemed unbelievable. It seemed added to spice up the book and was unnecessary.
I liked most of the characters. Some of the little surprises were fun and good additions to the story. The idea of a big security firm and MC offers all kinds of great story possibilities. I was disappointed that so many of the characters were already matched up or became so during the story.
I enjoyed the book overall and do recommend it. The club brothers seemed a bit on the soft side for MC guys who may have felt the emotions but getting angry at the guilty parties might have been a more likely response, at least for some of them. The issues seemed too easily solved. Some intrigue could have created more tension and improved the story.
I do look forward to future stories with this noteworthy characters.

Good start a series. The author gave us a Kick-A$$ heroine, her name is Monique and she was Thor’s woman years ago until he broke her heart by walking out of her life. Thor is the Prez of the Thorny Devils MC. The club is having some issues and they have numerous businesses are in need of extra security until they get their club issues solved. When Thor and a few of his brothers meet with one of the security companies that was referred to them, he sees Monique for the first time in 15 years. He also learns of the hell she’s gone through and come out on the winning side. When I said the heroine is Kick-A$$, trust me she is one tough cookie you don’t want to get on the wrong side of. Thor also learns he’s a dad of triplets (2 boys and a girl). And on a side note, let me say these kids will steal the show, they are a force to be reckoned with in their own right - I LOVE them and their sassiness.
The story takes off from here. We have Thor trying to win his woman back and become a father to his kids and we have a trader in the club that is part of a Russian crew that wants to take down Thor and his MC brothers. Will Monique give Thor a second chance? Can they find the mole and weed out the trouble before it hits home? This is an exciting storyline that is also touching and heartfelt. I give the story 4 stars and look forward to seeing where book 2 in the series leads us.

I thought Thor was very promising but it took me some time to fall for the characters and to really connect to the story , there was some shocking moments that I didn't see coming . At times it felt like certain things were placed into the story just to be there and it did frustrate me . The Thorny Devils seemed a bit soft I like to see when some alpha characters show some emotions but at times it was a a little to much soft . The heroine was pretty awesome my heart really broke for the things that she has been through I wish that when she explained what happened in her past a different way it felt rushed to me with not enough time to process everything . I have some mixed feelings on the hero he was ok he just didn't do it for me . Over all this was a good story and I look forwared to future books by MLJ Quigg.

So that lost some of the glow for me. You may like it but it wasn't my cup of tea.

With the getting hit, they have to find a way to find out who’s hitting them, but they don’t have the manpower, they decide to outsource security, someone mentions Henderson Security and Thor gives the go ahead and they head to the meeting.
She hears his voice, 15 years she’d been looking, and he walks straight in, she kneed him then all hell broke loose ending with him pointing a gun at her. Sure, she had to have reconstruction on her face, but her eyes were the same.
They end up at a standoff when he finally works out who Tiny is, Thor knows she’s pissed at him, but everything stops when some kids walk in. He had his reasons for walking away, he thought she would be happy now, but he was definitely wrong.
Derrick regrets not taking Monique with him when he left, but with everything she’s been through she’s strong like a warrior, he wants her back that he knows but she’s didn’t react well to seeing him, but when she calls and wants to talk, he wants her back he knows he hurt her and she’s been hurt but he’s going to everything he can to get her back, she’s the only woman he’s ever loved or will love.

This is the first in a new series from this author, and what a great introduction it is. Monique and Derrick were together, and when he upped and walked out of her life, she was left heartbroken. Now 15 years later, fate brings them together again, and Derrick / Thor is the president of his MC, and Monique is one tough cookie. Will Thor be able to break through Monique’s walls? Will they have a second chance at love? No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed! This is a well written story, which had me hooked and intrigued throughout this entertaining page turner. I look forward to reading more in this addictive series, and recommend for all MC readers.

I honestly don't know where to begin!! I absolutely LOVED this book!! I was completely blown away by it and I couldn't put it down I read it in an hour and half!! I was completely engrossed in the characters!! This book is an insane emotional rollercoaster I was up and down!! At parts it broke my heart I was crying then laughing!! I may have dropped a few f-bombs along the way!! Add in ALOT of heat and I mean burn the whole bedroom down scorching heat!! The MC men are seriously HOT and the sex well let's just say it was explosive!! A definite must read and I highly recommend it you won't be sorry!! I can't wait for the next book!!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. It was a good second chance love story. I did feel like it was a bit all over the place but ultimately a good read. I also think the story went a little haywire at the end and didn't see some of the stuff coming. I also thought some of the obstacle these characters faced were overcome too easily and things just fell into place. All in all I will definitely read the next one in the series. The author does a good job lining up future potential characters and books,

Great debut book by a new author. Derrick and Monique were perfect together until he left and broke her heart in the process. He comes back into her life 15 years later and is now known as Thor and is the president of the Devils MC. Now Monique is a single mother of triplets and owns a security firm Thor is looking to hire. The challenge is on, Thor wants to win Monique it back but she is resistant. This is a sweet book about second chances. I can’t wait to see how this author develops the series.

Couldn't finish. Couldn't even get half way through. Too contrived. The h tells her whole story in the 2nd Chapter to the H that she hasn't seen in 15 years in front of a crowd of people. Not to mention, I think the timeline is off as far as the kids. And the kids act like they're 10. Wasnt for me. And I was hopeful because it was highly recommended from a group I'm in and have gotten great recommendations in the past. Also the H cries a lot...🙄

3.75 stars...if we could only move into the stars to show that immediately.
I understand that this is the first book for this author so this is why I gave it only 3.75 stars.
First let me say that the premise for this story was fantastic. Two people love each other so very much but he leaves. Leaves her wondering why and broken hearted. (I will not say why he leaves because that will come out in the story and you need to read it for yourself). However, it was for good reasons at the time. As the years progress, she has some issues, joins the military, has something horrific happen to her, returns home and rebuilds her life, literally. She has three children..triplets that she has to take care of and they are her world. He joined his father's MC and after his father's death is now the President of that MC. He still thinks about her, he still loves her and the same goes for her. Their worlds collide when the MC has to reach out to a security company to help them with security and some of their many businesses while they figure out who is causing their troubles. And when they collide, it's physical...no, not how you think..but it is pretty funny. Once calm settles over everyone, the company and the MC meet and come to an arrangement that will work for both, especially for Thor (Derrick) and Tiny (Monique). Let the business begin.
The characters were well written. You have the hot MC President and his crew (which are evidently equally hot). But here's where it got tricky for me. They were at one time into some illegal activity but since Thor took over, have gone legit. They are big, strong bikers right?? But I have never seen so many bikers who openly show so much emotion. They literally have tears in their eyes or are wiping tears from their faces. I've seen bikers cry over losing their forever loves, their child, maybe a parent, but never in the open and in front of their brothers. It's always in private. But ok!
Monique...loved her. She's strong, confident and will kick a$$ if provoked or if it is needed to defend herself or those she loves. She's a great mom and heads a well run business. Her children are fantastic, daughter looks just like her and her two sons are the spitting image of their father. They are three spitfires who I really thought were older than they were until I read their age when it was time for their birthday. I loved the supporting characters just as well and loved how close they were to each other and they truly had each other's backs.
Here's my problem with this book. The dialog sometimes seemed a bit juvenile, coming from the bikers. Not necessarily when they were bantering with each other, but other times and with other people.
When Thor was in the hospital, just recovering from surgery, Monique is laying in his bed with him..which is fine..normal really. But when two of the other members are sitting in his room when he wakes, holding hands, the topic of their orientation comes up and ... again no problem...until the four of them begin some sexual play while Thor is in his hospital bed. Come on now...all four of them are engaged in the act, which wasn't really too strenuous, but if laughing makes him hurt??? When he returns home from the hospital, after being greeted by everyone he and Monique go to his room where the other two brothers are waiting and the foursome take part in some really physical play. Again..the man was shot twice, it was mentioned possible physical therapy for his shoulder and he almost lost his life...and just that fast they are all jumping into bed with each other. The only part that rang true with the story was Monique freezing up when Derrick came up behind her.
That type of play wouldn't have bothered me if it weren't for the timing.
I loved the proposal...that was amazing. Really romantic in the midst of the entire MC and those closest to her. Love it.

I did enjoy the story itself and loved the characters, but in my opinion, a little more work on it would make this a truly 5 star read. Right now, to me, it just isn't there yet.
