I knew he was trouble from the moment he moved next door, but all I needed was him. He looked out for me, protected me, and became my best friend. I just wish he saw me as more. Sometimes it feels like he does. Especially in those moments when he curls up behind me in bed, pulls me close, and says those two words I long to hear. Truth is, that’s when I feel like I’m truly home… Will he ever feel that too?
Jesse
I think I knew I loved her since she gave me that first cup of awful lemonade. Before I gave her apologies in paper airplanes. Before I snuck in her window at night. Before I was ready to cross that fine line. Then we blurred that line and she was all I wanted. But I think it’s too late. I waited too long to tell her how I feel. Truth is, I’ll never truly be home unless I’m with her… Am I too late?

He had all the girls he wanted, but he went out of his way to sabotage any guys away from her. He said it was “to protect her from guys (assholes) like himself”
First of all, if you are new to this series, go back now, and read Always before you move forward. This book will not resonate as deeply unless you read the entire series. Reading this book was so bittersweet for me as I've followed this sweetheart, Penny from her debut in book 1. In each book, Lindsay gave us a glimpse of her as she grew, her relationships with her brother Ollie, sister Tatum and single dad Travis. I cannot tell you enough how much I love this unusual family. Watching them grow as a unit and building their own lives through this series has been just wonderful.
This book focuses on Penny or LP. Now all grown up, Penny is trying to forge ahead in life and figure out who she is, what she wants and the exact nature of her relationship/friendship with Jesse, the boy next door. Timing seems to always be an issue with these two, and a life choices drive them apart. Will time change them for the better or worse? Can they forget the distance? Are the growing apart? Are they meant for each other or someone else? So many emotions. I laughed, cried, got mad, swooned. In short, this was a fast, fun read for me because I could not put it down. I was sad when I finished because I could read about this family forever. Thank you Lindsay for not just a great story, but for creating characters I wish I knew in real life. Great book.
This book is so near and dear to my heart, having watched Penny grow up. I can’t believe she’s even allowed to look at boys! There’s no way she’s old enough....
But look out Jesse moves in when Penny is way young and from there on out there is just no other boy for Penny!
Jesse May have needed throat punched a few times along the way but in the end the happily ever after was exactly what i would have wanted it to be.
I with all my heart LOVE this family so much. This series is so powerful and will bring you to your knees in certain spots! But it’s totally without a doubt worth the ride...
And WHAT?! Travis and Tilly?! My poor heart. Can’t wait for book 5. It’s truly gunna be Epic! ♥️
5 stars Lindsay! I’d give 100 if I could ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I absolutely loved Penny and Jesse's story! From the snippets we got about these two growing up in other books in the series, I couldn't wait! Jesse and Penny so belong together.
I loved Penny so much~ I loved how she bridged Travis's life, and was able to bring about healing to Josie's family. I love that she followed so well in her father's footsteps at the garage~ I mean, I love that she is a mechanic! Jesse was such a comfort for Penny, and just what she needed. He had a rough life, but with the help of his aunt and Penny, he really worked to make something of himself.
Always You is book 4 in Lindsay Becs Always Series and this story is about Penny all grown up, and what a story!! Penny and Jesse meet when he moves in next door with his aunt after a tragedy, and Jesse is a pretty angry young man, but Penny gets through his defenses and they become the very best of friends....even when they become adults that friendship is still just as strong, only now there are other emotions and feelings coming to the surface. I really wanted to smack both Penny and Jesse at times because they allowed situations and misunderstandings get in the way, that is until they actually talked, and told each other how they really felt about each other. I absolutely loved this book, and love Lindsay, and also am mad at her for the ending!! Oh, and Jesse is MINE, MINE, MINE!!!!! Y'all really need to read this series from the beginning for those that haven't read it, and by the way...why haven't you read it??? Lol now the wait begins for the next book, which is gonna be torture, but know the wait is gonna be so worth it!! Thank you Lindsay for writing such amazing books that I absolutely adore
This book is book 4 in the series and I absoutely loved it. Once again Lindsay had me on the emotional rollercoaster lmao happy, sad, in tears from both happy and sad moments and i loved every minute of it. I seriously cannot wait for the next book especially after that cliffy she left me with lmao! I highly recommend all the books in this series!
Read this in one sitting! Sweet little Penny is all grown up and it’s been so fun watching it all unfold. I loved her story along with Jesse’s. They really were a perfect fit from the start and Lindsay has done a phenomenal job at putting their love on paper. I’m totally blown away by this series! 5-so-awesomely-awesome-stars!!
I’m really enjoying this series !! Really really ! Hehe these characters are all beautifully connected and each finding their lobsters 🦞 Penny is all grown up in this book , and she falls in love with her childhood best friend ! They are home for each other ❤️ I love that throughout these books I still feel like the previous characters are actively present in each book and we see their happily ever afters continuing ! Gah to that ending - left me hanging for book 5!! Bring it on !
MY RATING: 4 Stars TITLE: Always You AUTHOR: Lindsay Becs SERIES: Always Series #4 RELEASE DATE: 21 August 2019 CLIFFHANGER: Yes but for the next book
Two words for you…Must. Read. I absolutely loved this book and binged on it especially as I was coming down from a high from reading Always. But we pick up 15 years later to now 18 year old Penny who we left off as an adorable three year old.
“She’s my soft landing, my safe haven. Shes the only one I want in my future.”
If you’re looking for swoony, sweet, feel good kinda of loving, this is definitely for you. This book….oh had all the soft, sweet tear-jerking feels I’ve come to expect from Lindsay. Once again I was feeling deep in my feelings.
We see Penny all grown up now, still living with her dad, and her best friend Jesse right next door. When her sister Tatum offers her a dream job as a motorbike mechanic on her husband’s professional team, she jumps at the chance to pursue her dream and travel the world. Jesse and Penny have been friends for almost 10 years, they share a childhood of great loss and for whatever reason; their souls seem to speak to one another. When they share a kiss, the whole dynamic of their relationship changes and thrown it in disarray. Although she looks forwards to this exciting opportunity, the only problem is she feels like a part of her remains behind; in Jesse.
“You’re my home, nugget. No matter where we are. You’re the only place I want to be.”
After Jesse suffers a great loss, he is forced to move in with her aunt Tilly; next door to Penny. The little 7 year old who’s determined to make friends with him. They friendship grows and so do they. So when Jesse enlists into the military and Penny takes a job travelling the world as a mechanic, the only thing he knows is he wants Penny with her. But is a friendship really worth her giving up on her dreams and uprooting her life for him?
“You’re my soul and I’m yours.”
There’s only so much denying of their feelings they can do before they have to get their shit together. I loved that we got to see a bit of Travis in this book, although it broke my heart every time I read his name thinking about Josie. It made me sad to see that he’s still struggling to get over Josie, but I was really happy to see him trying to move on with Tilly. Fingers crossed for them. I loved the wit, the feels, and the banter throughout the whole book. I especially loved the letters Josie wrote to her children for every milestone of their lives. I think I will borrow that for my own children. Every time I read them I found myself tearing up. I loved that Penny gets a happy ending but that cliffhanger…it seems she’s in for some trouble.
The only reason I’m rating this book 4* is because I read it back to back with Always. And it didn’t evoke the same emotion out of me as Always did. I have no doubt that if you’ve let some time pass between them, it will absolutely be a 5* read.
Such a good story for Penny!!! Throughout this series we have seen her grow up, all firey and firece and funny as hell! She was the cutest little girl around with the best family to watch her grow. Now she's all grown up, she's starting her life, ND she's still so awesome! I was nervous she wouldn't life up to my expectations, but she so did! She's cool and easy going and smart and honest and loyal and loving. She is presented a once in a life time opportunity by her sisters husband racing company and can't wait to tell her childhood best friend, Jesse. Jesse, oh Jesse! I truly loved him! I must say that out of all the male leads in this series, he was by far the most stubborn and thick headed! Luckily I live stubbornness in a man so I loved him. He's been Penny's best friend through his hard and confusing childhood. She's always been his light and always the key to making him feel good and happy. He's a really honorable character too which I so adore. He's a big softy, he's sweet and serious but also playful and funny. This story has it all too. It's sad and heartfelt and happy and lighthearted all at once. All the Gellar Duncan and King family members return and the dynamic is as it always has been, amazing and loving! I again devoured this book because I cannot put this series down! I hope more readers get to experience Lindsay's words because this has been one of my favorite series ever
First off, I have to say that I love finding new authors and watching them grow and get better with each and every book....Lindsay Becs is one of those authors! Always You, the fourth book in the Always Series (and her fourth book, period) shows just how AMAZING her writing truly is!
I loved this book! Penny and Jesse's book is full of ALL the feels, the angst, the drama that you'd expect if you've read the first 3 books in this series (which I HIGHLY recommend, but you CAN read this one as a standalone with only minor spoilers) This is a wonderful. s-l-o-w burn, best friends-to-lovers romance that had me laughing, swooning, swearing, crying and fanning myself at different times throughout! I loved the interaction between Travis, Tatum, Ollie and Jesse's Aunt Tillie...the family dynamic is extraordinary and unusual and I love these characters as if they really are REAL! I love the unique way that Josie (Penny, Tatum and Ollie's Mom) stays relevant in their lives! This emotional, angsty love story wrapped itself around my heart and soul...I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!! I can't WAIT for the next book from Ms. Becs! Bravo, love...Bravo!
Travis to Jesse "She's kind and compassionate and beautiful like her mother. She is the most precious thing in my life. Now, she's going to be the most precious thing in your life. Love her that way. Always."
This book...Wow...It will blow you away!!! This is the fourth book in the series which can be read as a standalone but trust me, you need to read the books from the beginning. We get Penny's story but it's so hard to believe she's grown now. She's had a long lasting friendship with her neighbor Jesse. They are attracted to each other but are unsure about taking their relationship to another level. The timing seems to be off and they don't want to lose a great relationship. This story gives you all the feels. You'll laugh, cry, get mad, and maybe even want to slap someone. Penny and Jesse do get a happy ending with this amazing book!! This book is so well written!! It's so amazing reading about this fabulous family. You get so attached to the characters in the books as you follow their lives. I love that we got a glimpse of Travis along with other characters. Lindsay has gave us pieces of the different characters throughout the series. I look so forward to book number five and can't wait to read her words!! You definitely need to read this book! I highly recommend it!!! 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Emotional. Laughter. Love. A true story of overcoming your past to look to your future and what is right in front of you. The way Lindsay Becs writes is a work of art. This family is one I fall in love with each time I read a new installment from this author.
Lindsay Becs has slayed me again. I never know what kind of curve her stories are going to throw me for. She always has stories full of emotion (bawling like a baby!) and a storyline that makes you obsess over the book until you have to sit down and finish it. This book doesn’t disappoint. It is one that has stayed with me long after I read it.
With this story, you get a glimpse at everything this family has been through and how they are overcoming it. There were so many emotional parts that absolutely slayed me. Then, the sweet and sexy parts that will make you just stop in awe of her writing ability!!
I absolutely love this family and their struggles, love, emotion, and everything!! A truly amazing book you will read over and over again!!
I’m having mixed feeling right now. I literally just finished this book (which was awesome by the way) and I’m just... stunned... maybe... I don’t know... I’m so happy Penny and Jessie get there happily ever after. These two characters are wonderful. (I did want to throat punch him once though because of Jewel.) But Travis and Tilley... well... I am happy for Travis, but it’s hard for me. I loved him and Penny’s mom together so freaking much! (Is it bad I can’t remember her name right now even though I’ve read the book twice???) I didn’t want to see him with someone else. I suppose my fictional Travis shouldn’t be alone forever. Anyways, enough of my ramblings.
This story is awesome and I highly recommend it! Wish it was even longer. You can read it on its own, but you will enjoy it even more if you start with book 1.
As always with these books read book 1 before reading this one. It will make more sense that way! Ive been dying for Penny's book after reading bits and pieces of her thru the other books of other characters. But finally we got her book and sigh she's all grown up! I didnt think id see her all grown up! But gosh she's a great girl who deserves all the happiness! I loved Jesse and her's friendship and love. Literally wanted to smack Jesse a few times but other than that i loved him. Jewel..... well you'll meet her and understand why im not wasting my breathe on that one 😂😂 but i loved seeing the rest of the crazy bunch of that family! ❤❤ im excited to see whats next for this family!
Penny's story is book 4 in the always series and its was a different read for me getting to know LP from a baby into the beautiful women she is today I have gotten all the feels. Let's not forget about those amzing letters from Penny's mom josie that she left when she was dying of cancer 💜. Watching Penny's and Jesse's relationship from kids into a new confusing budding romance is amazing. Not know if they should cross the line between bestfriends and being more, with Jesse in the military and Tatum off on with IMR with her sister and the king family it doesn't seem like the right time. But since it's lucky penny we are talking about the stars align and they get their happy ending!

Ahh the story of little LP.I absolutely love this series and it seems with every book it gets better and better!I was not dissapointed. With the sweetest, hottest characters and the most beautiful storylines this series has become one of my all time favorites!Jesse, the hot, sweet pain in the butt and his best friend Penny aka LP aka nugget are a match made in Always heaven. With a taste of every past book in it,Always you has risen to soaring heights as one of the best books I've read this year, heck forget this year..this lifetime!!
Penny has a very special place in my heart. Meeting her in the book s before this, Reading hers, you really feel like you watched her grow up, which you have. Penny is a firecracker red head who, im sure, caused her daddy alot of grey hairs.
Jesse, oooo Jesse. We got to watch him turn from a troubled kid, to a manwhore teenager (cause lets face it, most of them are at those ages), to an amazing man. Learning his history, his feelings. I loved him as a kid and I loved him grown up.
The best friend duo was a truely amazing and their love story was one for the books ;)
The continuing story of the Gellsr family, only this time it's Travis and Josie's daughter, Penny...throughout her life her one constant has been her best friend , Jesse. Their story grows as they do and develops into something wonderful.... although they separate and grow on their own, they never lose sight of their feelings for each other, letting things happen naturally til they find their way back to each other... great friend to lovers story...

Loved Jesse & Penny separately , but together nothing can stop them. I enjoy a good friends to lovers book & this book had plenty of angst, & sweet moments to round out the love story. I highly recommend this book , but would for sure read the series in order as you will understand the book more. It does end with a cliffhanger that will have you waiting for the next book to release.
Oh Jesse and Penny. I love their friendship and later relationship. They're both so stubborn and won't take shit from each other. I love how they go through hard times but still find comfort in something that has always been there, something that's home. Im sad because after this there is only one more book left in the series.
Wow! Crazy to see little Penny all grown up! She has grown into a wonderful version of not only her dad but her mom!! And it sounds like she fell in love with the most wonderful person ever! Jesse is the boy next door in all senses! I would love to read more of these two!
This story was adorable! I loved the fairy tale like love story of Penny and Jess. Just when I think I've read my favorite of the series, I read my next favorite. Lindsay definitely has me hooked!
Out of all the books in this series this one has got me crying the most.. seriously.. I'm crying as I write this.
Reading this series you've watched Penny grow up. Turn into this character that you not only like but respect.. I know that sounds weird.. shes just a character but she feels like family. I guess because if you've read from the beginning you've seen all the ups and downs she's went through. You've seen it through other characters eyes and then you get to read it first hand in this book.
Jesse.... Jesse...Jesse... I had a hate love relationship with this one. I love the whole childhood friendship growing into adults and love.. the in-between he was kind of a jerk face. He did make up for it in the end but he's still on my radar.
This was book 4 in 2 days. That's how freaking amazing this series is. I can't put these characters away. Now... On to book 5!
You know, sometimes when you read a book from your favorite author, you think, there's no way they can top this. BUT THEN IT HAPPENS! Lindsay is always surprising me, and I fall more and more in love with these characters with each book. I can easily say that of the children's books, this is BY FAR, my favorite. To me, this book was just so much more special. We didn't really know Penny in Always, but we got these awesome glimpses of her throughout Always there and Promise Me Always. That being said, We TRULY got to see Penny in every way in this book.
I absolutely adored how Lindsay took us through Jesse and Penny at different points in their life. How she showed us a few really special moments as they grew together. And by grew together, I mean in so many ways! Growing up to be adults, growing together as friends, and growing together as a couple. This was one of the sweetest and slowest burns you could have. I truly think that Jesse and Penny always knew they'd be together, but they really had to find themselves first. When we first meet Jesse, I loved how Penny was trying to take care of him. Seeing her do this really made me think of her mom, and I think that was super special. I am crying writing this because there were so many special moments like this where you think of Josie. These two were so great together. I love how they were totally different, yet really complimented each other. Penny grew into this amazing young woman, and I really loved that she works with her Dad. Penny and Jesse both had some pretty significant curve balls in this story too. The biggest being Jesse's, but I think both of these things really helped them grow. Sometimes being apart from each other is the best thing for you. For these two, it really meant a lot of different things.
One of my favorite parts about this series is the letters that Josie has left for everyone. Every. Single. Time. I CRY! It's just the sweetest, most adorable thing, and I can't help but cry for this family. Travis had dealt with so much throughout these books, and seeing Penny and him transform was just so beautiful. Then, to see Penny grow into someone who is so much like Josie, dear lord. Cue the darn waterworks. Ugh, I'm so emotional and this book is so emotional. But, perfectly emotional. There were so many funny parts, sad parts, angry parts, it's just so perfectly balanced.
And as usual, I LOVED seeing Tatum, Ollie and Travis! Seeing them with Jesse and Penny was so cute. Add in Jesse's Aunt Tillie, it was just absolutely amazing. This family is so amazing and so close. Lindsay really writes them to make you feel like you are there and apart of it. Oh and I can't forget Bear!! I loved their dog Bear, he was like another character!!
I cannot wait to see where Lindsay takes us from here <3
This story is so good! I loved Jesse & Penny, they have been friends since they were younger but its not u til they are older and living life apart that they realize they have always been it for each other. I love a friend's to lovers romance and these two where perfect. Their story even had some heartbreak thrown in there that a lot of can relate to. I always enjoy a good story that ends with a HEA but makes me cry at one point or another in the story 🖤
So sweet Penny, how did you become grown enough to have your own book? We first meet penny is book 1 ( Always) as a baby and we have seen her grow throughout the series. Her and Jesse have become best friends when Jesse moves in next store. They are each other’s person, their home, their safe place. They have such a innocent love and it definitely takes you back to a place in time where we all that one person growing up who was our everything.
Penny and Jesse have their ups and downs, penny goes off with Royal king and travels the world as their mechanic and Jesse joins the military. Do they find their way back to each other? Will they end up together? You’ll definitely want to read to find out but make sure you start with Always which is book one is this series!
