I thoroughly enjoyed Devastated the last book from His For A Week series, from start to finish. It was well written that kept me glued to the story that I couldn't read fast enough to know what will happen next. Truly a page-turner!

Ben, the dominant alpha hero really knows how to electrify each sexy scene with Kimani. Just be ready to get hot and bothered when you read those chapters. I like Kimani right from the start of this series. She's a fierce, smart, independent and gorgeous heroine. Ben and Kimani are perfect for each other.

Em Brown didn't disappoint with this series it has suspense, romance and all the elements of a great dom-sub story. It's unputdownable! I recommend this series if you're into this kind of book. I had a great time reading this series and I hope you do too.

I think this was the best book in the series and I loved it. There was nothing gentle about Ben and Kimani's love story, but a love story it was. Kimani felt guilty about what happened to Ben's Uncle Gordon and tried to make reparations, Ben thought she was trying to derail the campaign. A lot of people benefitted because Kimani worked so hard and Ben made it happen and he protected her from Jake, whose true colors were exposed. The only thing missing was an epilogue perhaps 6 months or a year in the future. It doesn't need it, but it would resolve a couple of unanswered questions.

Jake is the most soulless low life character I have read about lately- kudos Ms. Brown. He's so vile my kindle needs steam cleaned! IMO, this, the fourth book in an enthralling series, was the most powerful and impacted me the most. Kim finally sees the error of her way. I liked how forgiving Ben was for all Kim's nefarious ways. I perversely took some pleasure in Kim's uncomfortable situations, because she started out uninformed and trying to ruin what she knew nothing about. Great series and ending.

This was the end of Kimani and Ben's kinky story but it's not the end of the series. I think the BDSM scenes are written quite well, and this is one of the main reasons I stuck with the series, but I was quite disappointed that their story ended up on a cliffhanger ending sort of although, most of the loose ends were tied by the end of the book. I just think there was more room for a HEA for these two and definitely more room for romance to be written into their story. There was certainly a lot of passion and heat. Either way, it was a decent book and the series was all right, but could have given the readers more of tighter ending to their story.

What a way to end the series! Lots of goings on, lots of emotions, and still some danger. And, of course, lots and lots of hotness!! This series was very exciting in many ways. And the chemistry between Ben & Kimani was off the charts. I definitely recommend you reading this series!!

My favorite of the series

BDSM is totally misunderstood by those who don't practice it. It is not about obeying the Dominant, as much as it is pushing yourself to reach past your limits, to enjoy mind blowing pleasure. It is the Sub who can, at any time, say stop. In this book, my only misgiving is that the Dominant appears to ask the Sub not to use her safe word, or at least imply that she shouldn't. I've never seen that happen in real life, but maybe with strictly "pantser" Dominants it will. Other than that, this is pretty much the real deal as far as hardcore BDSM goes. And I loved every word.

All of that said, the downside is that the series ended for Ben and Kimani WAY too soon and there needs to be another book. Also proofing is necessary for all the books in the series. I stopped highlighting when I was halfway through.

This book is steamy, forthright, honest about BDSM, and incredibly HOT. I highly recommend that you buy the series, rather than just take the free book as the freebie isn't nearly as interesting without the others.

The fourth and final book in the series
This was the fourth and final book of the His for a Week series
This is the continuing story of Kimani and Ben and they are still having fairly major trust issues and it was so apparent that they loved each other because they are trying to overcome their past transgressions and begin to rebuild everything that they held so dear.
This was a very emotional rollercoaster at times and it left you really rooting for them and the love they were so trying to hold onto and to make stronger, it was a very well written series and the characters were so real it was easy to relate to them both and to almost root for them, hoping that they would make it….
You’ll have to read the last in the series and discover the truth for yourself.
I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

And finally, it was over. The whole last book was really exaggerated in terms of story line (the bodyguards, the attacks, the kidnapping, the newspaper situation, and I can go on but I won't). Kimani ended up actually selling herself for "a daycare center and a new basketball course". Hmmm, really, miss "how can you stand to sell yourself in the auction" and "I hate how people with money think they can get anything"? Just because she didn't buy jewelry with the money, does that make it ok? Or does that just make her a hypocrite? Ben continued to be an asshole, but and asshole with a heart since he gave her a collar at the end, right?
I just feel tricked after reading this final book. I wish I had stopped after the second, really, cause there are some days and neurons I am nor getting back, but meh. Lesson learned to go with my gut and not finish a series just because it started out ok.

😠

I'm a little miffed at how the book ended with a cliff hanger...there were a lot of loose ends left. No accounting for sleeping with two people at the same time, within hours of each other, did Make get exactly what he deserve, was the auction shut down, was the body guard that was shot alright, are Marissa or Claire ok to live life, do Ben and Kimani live happily after, does Bend father welcome his choice....wow so much to write so little written. That's why I have it only 3 stars. When I read the first book for free I bought a couple of the others because I was intrigued. I don't buy many books because the authors stretch out the price over incredibly short "books" that are simply chapters...I had hoped this series would be different

Horrible writing! Kimani was a doormat, I kept waiting for her to grow some backbone whenever he threw some money and propositions around, but she never did. She proved to him that he could definitely buy his way into everything. SMH. Don't even get me started with how easy she slept with him, not to mention the fact that he was consistent manwhore. Absolutely disgusting and disappointing, Ben was not a catch in the long run due to his hypocrisy and manwhoring ways. Jake' s character was underdeveloped, he said the same s**** to her like a child and couldn't properly carry the main conflict of the story.

Kimani is devastated after Ben left. He turned her world upside down and left after finding out about Kimani's investigation. When he returns they are both torn between wanting to stay away from each other and wanting to devour each other. They both have a lot of hurt in their past and want to move on. Can they look past on what had transpired and move on to a future together?
This book is the final book in the relationship of Ben and Kimani but not the last one in this series. Ben is absolutely hot and one of my favorite characters. Amazing read!

After the epic showdown at the cabin, Ben stays away from Kimani. He is angry about her part in the article about his uncle. He sleeps with other women, trying to forget her, but she's still in his mind. In spite of a protection order, Jake continues to harass Kimani. She tries to make amends for her role in the article by helping Uncle Gordon's campaign. This leads to her reconnecting with Ben. Her roommate takes her to a BDSM club, where she explores her darkest desires. Jake's stalking comes to a head, leading to a final resolution of this problem.

The series just keeps getting better!

I love Ben and Kimani’s relationship. I usually avoid novels that include BDSM, but this story fascinated me. The detail of the intimacy is beautiful and doesn’t sound creepy like I expected. I must admit that I blush at times because of the level of smut, but the bond between the main characters and level of trust is lovely to read about. Another 5 star!

Ben & Kimani are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Billionaire Ben is a 💯 Alpha Bae Dom & Kimani is an intelligent, sassy, socially conscious , young, beautiful black 💃: and together they are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 in Em Brown's 4 📚 series. This story is heavy on🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 BDSM, with romance, intrigue, politics & racism, mixed with misogyny, all spun in a highly entertaining read that at tines, will have you smiling from ear to ear😍Enjoy🍷

Kimani has lied to Ben for the last time. He feels betrayed and vows to put her out of his mind and out of his life. Of course, their intense attraction makes that completely unacceptable. This episode of "His For A Week" is just as erotic as the previous books. The pages sizzle and come alive as Ben and Kimani work through their differences. Very fast read!

Better

There was more suspense in this one I think and Kimani really seemed to get into the submissive role and enjoy it more with Ben. Im glad that they got back together since they clearly seemed to love each other. BDSM is still not really my kind of thing though. It lack sweetness and romance.

I'm devastated that it's over

I really enjoyed this series. It was different than anything I've read before. Ben and Kimani had great chemistry and I loved the tension between them. I found myself wanting Ben to bend her to his will. I plan to read more, especially because I adore historical fiction and I've discovered that Em has many for me to dive into. ;)

Devastated, His For A Week book four by E. M. Brown. This is the final book of the series. This series ended up having a pretty good storyline and it ended perfectly! There were also some great characters. A great series if you don’t mind cliffhangers.

This could have been another 5 stars ratings. I was not impressed by the frivolity of Ben. Him sleeping around while Kimani stayed through to herself. Yes she went on dates but she did not sleep with anyone. The way they said their Loves for each other at the End, just came out of the blue. It was still a good read, the sex is still very HOT and very descriptive, not for everyone.

This book has me devastated. This was absolutely delicious and I loved every second of it. One could tell some research went into learning about bdsm with all the different equipment that was mentioned. The story was highly titillating with a nice little thrill on the side. Em Brown has a new fan!!

It was slow at the beginning because they weren’t together at first like they were before but all the books I’ve read so far in this series have been great . Only thing I didn’t really like about it was that the chapters weren’t short like the other ones were lol

Good Finale

Well written erotic romantic suspense. Ben and Kimani burning up the pages with their sexual activity. Finally realizing just how much they need each other. Good ending to the series.
