Sometimes I think to myself, if you've read one contemporary romance, you've read them all. I've read hundreds of contemporary romances, but it continues to be the sub-genre of romance that I struggle with the most, and this book was no different. Even the addition of hockey players, my Kryptonite, couldn't make this book rise above mediocre for me.
To be honest, the only reason I didn't DNF this book was because I wanted to figure out what Chase's medical diagnosis was (it's the medical professional in me). I found the story to be slow and predictable, and oddly dated (please stop putting MCs in turtlenecks. I haven't seen one off the ski slopes in years).
By far my biggest issue was that nothing happened. The book moved at a snail's pace where the most exciting thing was them tweeting sports updates with vaguely suggesting puns. The plot was slow and the dialogue was repetitive to the point where I just wanted to be done with it by the end. And to make matters worse, I never got past feeling like Chase was nothing more than a fan-boy.
I'm probably being generous with my two stars, but there you go. Not a winner for me. So sorry, contemporary romance.

I have read other Kelly Jamieson stories and they are fun reads. This story is part of the Aces Hockey series and could be read as a standalone.
This story centers around Chase and Jordyn who are celebrities who are crushing on each other through social media and decide to water a bet on exchange for a date.
They meet in person and sparks fly, they have chemistry but they also have careers that they have worked very hard to establish and believe there is no room for a relationship until they realize being apart is harder.
Their relationship blossoms and they are soon faces with decisions in their careers that can impact their relationship.
This was an easy breezy read that could be read in one sitting. It flowed well which kept this reader engaged.

Diving straight in. I was really happy to get this ARC. I am a big fan of Kelly Jamieson's hockey books.
3.5 - 3.75 stars.
Another great addition to her Aces Hockey series. Sweet romance. Not my most favorite by her but I really love all her characters and storylines.
I am always receptive to any new book by this author. She writes such sweet and touching romances with just the right amount of spice and heat.
I really enjoyed the Twitter flirtation that developed between Jordyn and Chase- lots of funny and witty bantering between these two . They also had some pretty great dates. A little drama here but mostly a sweet and sexy sports romance .🏆🏒🏒🏒🏒

Chase has had a crush on pop singer Jordyn for a while and when they start flirting via tweets, he finagles a date with her. Jordyn loves hockey and since Chase started following her via social media and she has been watching him play when his games are telecast, she’s more than okay about meeting him up for a date. What follows is a relationship that would normally not come to fruition had Jordyn not had some issues that forced her out of the spotlight for a while. And yet, everything these two do seems very fortuitous indeed.
I loved watching Chase and Jordyn together. Their banter was always light hearted and fun, the chemistry between them smoking, and the dynamics of their relationship felt very organic. I loved watching Chase and Jordyn together. Their banter was always light hearted and fun, the chemistry between them smoking, and the dynamics of their relationship felt very organic. While I was aggravated a time or two at Chase’s touchiness regarding his own issue, I understood why he reacted the way he did. But he gave good grovel when he messed up and I’m a huge fan of the grovel.
This was a very enjoyable read that really doesn’t have a lot of drama or angst. What it does have is just enough to drive the story forward and make the reader question how these two will eventually make a life together. It’s got a great pace to it, fun secondary characters, enough pain in the past to make your heart hurt, and a satisfying conclusion.

While this may not have been my absolute favorite story from Kelly Jamieson, this was a really cute book. I was unsure how I was feeling about it at first, but I stuck it out and ended up really liking it.
The social media flirtation between an Aces hockey player and a famous pop star becomes more when they agree to test their online attraction on a real date. Their chemistry was on fire, their banter was sharp, and the push and pull that evolves kept me engaged. Their drastically different career paths allow for a good bit of drama and their individual struggles and injuries allow for some roadblocks in their relationship that I found believable and refreshing. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Jordyn and Chase and I was pleasantly satisfied with their romance.
Like I said before, this isn't my favorite from this author or even the most memorable book I've read from her, but it's certainly a fun, sexy, entertaining romance with just the right amount of angst. Kelly Jamieson is always good for a much needed dose of sweet and sexy sports romance and this one soothed my craving. Playing Hurt is charming and sensual, peppered with humor and drama, and overall it's a really cute addition to this series.

Playing Hurt was the sixth book in Kelly Jamieson’s Aces Hockey series.
Chase Hartman was a star forward with the Chicago Ace’s NHL Hockey team. He’s had some wrist issues but was still playing, although not his best year.
Jordyn Banks was a successful singer who was already famous as a former child TV star and recently transitioned into her music career.
Chase and Jordyn met through Twitter, bantering back and forth with hockey trash talk. Chase had been a fan of Jordyn’s for years with a crush. Jamieson built the plot around the two public figures as they became friends, lovers and then had significant career challenges. Playing Hurt was aptly named, representing both characters. Jamieson used fun and humor mixed in with an emotional storyline.
In the end, it was a fast read that kept me interested and engaged from beginning to end. Next up is single father, Nick, in Big Stick.

Two people at the peak of their very public careers find an unusual way to connect romantically. Chase, a hockey pro with the Chicago Aces has a celebrity crush on pop star Jordyn Banks. Jordyn who's from Chicago and a fan of hockey decides to follow Chase on Twitter prompting him to respond to her tweet. This starts a fun and flirtatious banter between the two.
This was a pretty cute story. Chase's infatuation with Jordyn was almost like what you would see with a teenage crush. Both characters are pretty smitten with each other. I like how the author gave us a lot of couple time with them while still being realistic to the struggles of life getting in their way.
This is a pretty low angst and safe read. I enjoyed this couple and didn't really mind the bumps they faced along the way. Both of them dealt with some hurt from their pasts that did get in the way few times but I never felt it was overdone.

They start up some very public twitter banter which leads to a bet for a date on a hockey game. Of course, they end up on this very public date and the chemistry is perfect… there is lots of witty banter and great potential. Unfortunately, both Chase and Jordyn have issues that cause strife in them getting together.
Playing Hurt was a spicy, hockey-based romance, with mostly sweet and witty banter. I liked it but it lacked the riveting connecting that I’ve come to expect from Jamieson. It was sweet and heartfelt. This is just one of those couples you just knew where meant for each other, if they could just get past their issues...mostly his issues... First of all, it took me almost a week to finish this book. To say that it didn’t hook me and it didn’t excite me, it’s an understatement. I love books that keep me up all night and that i can’t put down.
Famous hockey players meets Taylor Swift.
They’re each other’s fan and they start flirting on Twitter during hockey plays. They set a date, they have fun and build their relationship slowly and carefully. She’s down to earth for such a big celebrity, but i didn’t like him so much. His jokes are crass and that’s far from considering it a dirty talk. He has childhood issues because of his parents and she doesn’t have any self confidence.
Their characters aren’t bland, but they haven’t spoken to me at all.
The plot is sort of uneventful, except for the whole “playing hurt” part.
I love the “wakeing” in the end, though and the closure/conclusions taken by both of them.
I haven’t read the other books in the series, so maybe if you did and liked them, definitely you should read this one too. :)
All in all, it wasn’t bad, but kinda unmemorable for me.

Wasn't for me, unfortunately.
The amount of times the descriptive dialogue term 'rasping' was used was too high, in my opinion. It was everywhere and at one point I genuinely wondered if the characters had bronchitis because it was used THAT much within just a few paragraphs. I may be nit-picky, but I'm willing to overlook most things in lieu of a good story. This, with the characters thrown together over a public bet via Twitter, seemed disingenuous and Chase just reminded me of a star-struck fan boy who got to bang his favorite celebrity.
It took me a LONG time to get through this one, and to be honest, I skimmed a majority of it.

Playing Hurt by Kelly Jamieson is the latest story in her Aces Hockey series, following a group of hockey players through sometimes challenging, sometimes fun and always sexy stories of life and love on and off the rink. This entry has a 25 year old player who has a nagging injury that could derail his career paired with a star singer experiencing the same.
Chase Hartman has been struggling to score goals. While it’s not uncommon for a hockey player to go through a slump, for Chase it’s more worrisome because while a broken thumb has healed, his wrist keeps giving him trouble at unexpected times causing him to be hesitant on the ice. The resulting bad publicity from not performing to his potential adds to the stress. The one bright spot is his fun and flirty twitter ‘relationship’ with pop star Jordyn Banks.
Jordyn is a huge hockey fan, and while the LA team the Condors is her current favorite since she lives there, the Aces have a special place in her heart since she grew up in Chicago where her parents still live. Trash talking with Chase on twitter leads to a date that is fun, but one she doesn’t expect to go anywhere. But then Jordyn experiences her own career hardship, when her overworked vocal cords force her to take a break. With recovery on her mind, returning home to Chicago means she can also open up to a real friendship with Chase. Things start to get heated between them as neither can deny their chemistry. But with their careers and futures in question, is a long term relationship possible?
I really enjoyed this story! It feels more like a new adult romance compared with others in the series, mostly because Chase and Jordyn are at early stages in their career, and in their early twenties. Sometimes this means not always making the best decisions and having to learn from their mistakes.
Chase grew up in an emotionally abusive home, though he doesn’t really acknowledge that until he has to explain to Jordyn what it was like to grow up in a home where how he did playing hockey determined the love and affection shown to him by his parents. Even now, he feels that his self worth is dependent on how well his career is going – and it’s currently not great. He’s been keeping the extent of his injury hidden so as to not let down his team, but eventually realizes he’s helping no-one by keeping it a secret. Figuring out that Jordyn will be there for him no matter where his career takes him is a hard lesson to learn, but one he eventually takes to heart.
Jordyn is a cheerful, fun character with all too human quirks (like losing her car keys, or her phone, repeatedly) that contrast with her professional image. When she too experiences difficulty due to injury, she is quick to address it (unlike Chase). She tries to be helpful, but sometimes oversteps in her eagerness to help make things right for others. Trust issues are less of a problem for her, though she has learned the hard way that her celebrity status brings out both the best and the worst in people. Having a partner who knows how to deal with the limelight definitely helps. Chase and Jordyn share some super sexy scenes together as they connect, on their way to a happy ending that doesn’t come easily but is worth it in the end.
Like all of the author’s hockey romances, there are on and off the ice scenes that ring with authenticity. As all hockey players go through times of ‘playing hurt’, distinguishing what can be pushed through, and what can’t is key to a long term career, and something that Chase needs to learn. The other members of the Aces team have his back, and while they might tease him about his feelings for Jordyn, they know that injuries are no joke. The team has gone through good and bad times together and their friendships are solid and just as enjoyable as the romances are in the series. This romance works well as a standalone, but I also recommend the rest of the series and can’t wait to hear what’s in store for the Aces next!

This was honestly nothing special. The hero is a pro athlete, the h a famous singer he has a crush on. They flirt on twitter and when she is laid low, they start up a sex-fest. I never found myself too invested and the H had way too many hang-ups. Very forgettable read. I have read better sports romances.

You can see this and other Reviews I have written along with various cover reveals, excerpts, and giveaways here Nadine's Obsessed with BooksThis book had me laughing out loud more than once with the funny and suggestive tweets between Aces Player Chase and Pop Star Jordyn but the real deal came from one tweet that was a bet, that one had me in hysterics because it kinda hit home for me on a personal note. And one bet changed their lives forever.......
Playing Hurt is something all athletes do, don't get me wrong they should not play if they are injured but hurt is a different story just ask anyone you know that is into sports. Kelly Jamieson did a wonderful job, in my opinion, in showing us the difference between the two in this book and really showing how playing injured can really affect the game. But honestly this doesn't only apply to athletes it also applies to musicians especially singers like Jordyn. Both Chase and Jordyn have trials and tribulations in this book along with some additional angst, which for me wasn't needed, they had been through enough.
I am really loving this series because each of the men find a strong woman that not only can handle their brand of crazy but is strong enough not to let them walk all over them and hold their own, actually I'd say some of the women do a great job of keeping their men in line...LOL
We are blessed with seeing some of the other players and some of the wives are pregnant so it's really nice to watch as the ACES HOCKEY family grows. I would not only recommend this book to those whom enjoy sports romance but I would recommend the entire series. Happy Reading!!!

This book had me laughing out loud more than once with the funny and suggestive tweets between Aces Player Chase and Pop Star Jordyn but the real deal came from one tweet that was a bet, that one had me in hysterics because it kinda hit home for me on a personal note. And one bet changed their lives forever.......
Playing Hurt is something all athletes do, don't get me wrong they should not play if they are injured but hurt is a different story just ask anyone you know that is into sports. Kelly Jamieson did a wonderful job, in my opinion, in showing us the difference between the two in this book and really showing how playing injured can really affect the game. But honestly this doesn't only apply to athletes it also applies to musicians especially singers like Jordyn. Both Chase and Jordyn have trials and tribulations in this book along with some additional angst, which for me wasn't needed, they had been through enough.
I am really loving this series because each of the men find a strong woman that not only can handle their brand of crazy but is strong enough not to let them walk all over them and hold their own, actually I'd say some of the women do a great job of keeping their men in line...LOL

Playing Hurt by Kelly Jamieson is the sixth book in her Aces Hockey series, but the first I have read. This can be read as a standalone, however, I am excited to go back and learn more about the Aces Hockey men. What really called to me about this story was the blurb and though this was the sixth book in a series, I knew I wanted to read it.
Chase Hartman is finally turning things around. You see he was once the bad-boy of the team and partying too much. Now his game is struggling and those around him are questioning if he is turning to his old ways. But he is not. The one good thing for him? This Twitter thing he has going with Jordyn Banks the current pop sensation. Though Jordan grew up in Chicago, she is now in LA and tries to support the local team, but there will always be room in her heart for the Aces. So, when they start this flirting thing on Twitter, she goes with it.
I loved Chase. He was a bad-boy, but deep down he was just an overall great guy with a sweet side. Right from the start, Chase and Jordyn had this great banter going back and forth on Twitter that I loved. Jordyn, though a celebrity, is really just an easy-going person who happens to love hockey. They were great from the start, though each did carry a bit of baggage from their past. Even so, this story was low on angst and drama and high on sweet and charming.

ARC Netgalley and I'm never disappointed when Kelly writes ACES hockey players. There is hockey but it's a story of the men who play so hard....it's a game but the warrior I'm these guys won't let them give up even when it's "playing hurt'. I also loved Jordyn and seeing how celebrities have trouble with knowing who to trust. Read the book and read the series.

July 16, 2018I love the hockey sub-genre in the sports-romance field and I have enjoyed many books in this genre, so I was especially looking forward to a new author to enjoy. This book was my first book by KJ so I was looking forward to a new voice and flow of a hockey story. Sadly, this one just didn't work for me. I do have more books by this author, so I will check out another one to see if it was this book in particular, or if it was the writing style as a whole.
A few things threw me off, but it was mainly very slow and very descriptive.....and not in a good way. It was almost repetitive in nature, but it just made it feel like the book was dragging. Ok, you're neat and tidy....don't repeat it for an entire paragraph. You hurt yourself. Ok, I don't need to keep hearing about how and why -- I know why. I felt like saying, "Fix it!!" I know that's not fair because the title and all, but I guess by the time I was 6 chapters in, I got the gist of the writing style and the storytelling side of it and I found myself skimming - very early on in the book, I might add, and that is always an indicator that I need to move along. I do not ever like to skim, so when I did it just to see if the writing style moved into a better cadence, but then realized it didn't? I knew I was done. Reading a sex scene between Chase and Jordyn was awkward at best and I actually skimmed that as well. I have never, in all my time reading/reviewing romance, skimmed a sex scene. Yes, that's funny to me....but still, again, very telling.
Adding to my discontent; I didn't connect with the characters at all, so I was also having a hard time with the overall flow of the story and the emotions that were being 'told' to me. It felt very.... bland. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good. That's really all it was. There was nothing really pulling me into the story or making me want to find out how these two ended up together and what, if any, was the drama they had to work through.
This was an eventual DNF. It wasn't horrible, but I just wasn't interested in carrying on. I was just ...bored. I know that sounds horrible, and that's not how I mean for it to sound, but I lack a better word that shows the *shoulder shrug* I want to utilize when explaining it to one of my girlfriends. Not disrespectful in any way. If you are already invested in this team or author, you may enjoy it a lot more than I did. I wanted to get swept up in the love and the excitement of meeting new characters and watching them fall in love. I want that giddiness. I crave that excitement. I didn't get any of that with this one, unfortunately.

Voilà typiquement le genre de romance qui n’invente rien mais exploite avec talent ce qui se fait de mieux en ce moment. Kelly Jamieson est spécialiste de ce genre de romances qui reprennent des éléments connus et les reprend avec une certaine fraîcheur.
Nous sommes ici dans une série sportive portant sur une équipe de hockey de Chicago. Là, joue Chase, un jeune joueur plutôt brillant mais peut-être pas autant qu’il le devrait ou le voudrait.Il a flash sur une jeune chanteuse très à la mode, Jordyn et ils vont commencer une relation assez amusante sur les réseaux sociaux, surtout Twitter. Jordan est fan de hockey et est originaire elle-même de cette ville, même si elle vit pour des raisons professionnelles à Los Angeles. Passionnée de hockey, elle commente les matchs sur son Twitter er un beau jour, Chase va commencer à lui répondre. Sous les yeux du public ravi, commence un flirt rigolo entre les deux jeunes gens. Ils vont finir par se prendre au piège tous seuls et commencer à éprouver une vraie envie de se rencontrer.
Tout cela commence sur cette base simplissime et tout repose sur l’empathie qu’on éprouve pour ces deux-là.Ils sont tous les deux simples, directs, charmants même si ils flirtent avec le statut de star, surtout Jordyn. Ils ne sont pas tourmentés à l’excès non plus, simplement confrontés au risque d’avoir du mal à poursuivre leur carrière pour des raisons physiques. Bref, il ne se passe pas grand-chose à part une attraction très forte, deux héros qui avancent prudemment sur le chemin d’une relation, chose à laquelle ils ne sont pas habitués, ni l’un ni l’autre. Il faut bien reconnaitre que le couple très glamour entre une chanteuse pop et un sportif plutôt connu, cela fonctionne bien.
On se laisse emporte par le ton léger, parfois avec une pointe de gravité provenant de leurs doutes sur eux-mêmes et sur leur avenir. C’est d’une simplicité désarmante mais c’est très efficace et voir, pour une fois, une relation évoluer lentement, logiquement, normalement est très agréable. Leur milieu professionnel respectif est évoqué assez rapidement mais suffisamment pour donner un peu de profondeur.
Il ne faut pas attendre beaucoup de cette romance mais elle est très bien faite et cela fait du bien.

Fantastic story and a great addition to the Aces Hockey series. Really enjoyed this storyline as Chase, and Ace's hockey player and Jordyn, a famous singer bond over their love of hockey through twitter. Chase has always been a huge fan of Jordyn's so he flippantly throws out a bet. If his team wins she meets him for a date. Even wilder - she agrees! When they finally come face to face sparks fly instantly. Then they both have issues that affect them professionally. Weathering all the obstacles before them may be more than they can handle.
I think everyone will enjoy this one. I definitely recommend it.

I am a fan of sports romances and I enjoyed reading this one.
I liked the personalities of the main characters. Although they each went through some difficulties, nothing was too angsty or heavy. I liked that their relationship grew over months and went through what felt like realistic issues. (I mean, I wouldn't really know as I'm not a pop star nor do I know any hockey pros but their concerns and problems were believable. Heehee.)
Overall, Jordyn and Chase have a very sweet story that will likely please fans of this series.

The Aces are back!
This is one of my favourite hockey romance series, full of intriguing characters and real life situations. Well, real life for NHL hockey players and, in this instance, a rock star. Despite their success, they too have problems and they were going to face them together…
“I was lying about not being obsessed with her. Okay, calm down, I wasn’t a creepy stalker.”
Chase was struggling with his game as this season saw him trying to figure out why his stats were so low. He wasn’t the only one. The pressure was causing a circle of frustration that he was able to put aside temporarily when he reached out to Jordyn. Jordyn was a singer but she was also a hockey fan with a soft spot for the Chicago Aces. Twitter was the start of their relationship – so fun! - and their light-hearted banter soon meant a face to face. They had clashing schedules, they didn’t even live in the same city, yet they carved time to learn about each other through fun times and serious ones.
They were stars but you wouldn’t know it as they approached their relationship with uncertainty, hope and fear – just like every day people! Their inner voices shared what held them back or forced them to lash out. Money, success, that doesn’t mean instant happiness and that couldn’t be truer here.
Minor clashes and hidden fears reared their ugly heads so it wasn’t all smooth sailing and wine drinking… If the conflict felt a bit overdone at times, I honestly ignored it because both Chase and Jordyn had me completely invested. I knew which side I was rooting for. #TeamChordyn to score!

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
I haven't read any of the other books in this series, but they can be read as stand alones.
I'm a sucker for a book about hockey players. Imagine your a big NHL star and you end up tweeting with your celebrity crush and then bet on a hockey game, and when you win you get a date with said celebrity. That is the premise around this book.
Jordyn Banks is a huge pop star (I pictured Selena Gomez) and she's also a huge hockey fan. She grew up in Chicago, so she's an Aces fan, but she's also an LA fan, since that's where she lives now. Jordyn and Chase Hartmann start tweeting about hockey to one another, which turns flirtatious, and leads to much more.
Chase is having a rough season. He's been "playing hurt" - he has a wrist injury. Jordyn ends up having surgery on her vocal cords, putting her out of commission for a few months, and then she and Chase begin to form a friendship.
This book was a fun read. I liked both Chase and Jordyn. Jordyn was incredibly down to earth for a mega star, and she appreciated the thought and effort Chase put into their dates (as did I - it was cute). There wasn't a whole ton of drama in this book, just a nice story about two famous people who meet and fall in love.
I was a little disappointed in the epilogue, though I was happy there was one. I didn't feel that the epilogue provided closure to the story. But overall, this was a good story and I would recommend it.

In this day and age it isn’t a stretch for people to meet and form a bond on social media even if they are both celebrities and that’s why I found Playing Hurt to be timely and charming. There was something sweet about these two with their verbal Twitter sparring, their bets, their unique dates, and how despite some bumps in the road the caring and feelings they had for one another never ceased. I loved this book and the easy way they fell into a relationship neither one thought they could have.
Chicago Aces pro hockey player Chase Hartman has a bit of a crush on up and coming singer Jordyn Banks so when she follows him on Twitter he might be a wee bit excited, but when they begin to chat regularly on Twitter things really heat up between them including a bet that lands him a date with her.
I have to say that this book while it did have some heavy and tough moments the romance was a breath of fresh air. I loved how comfortable they were with each other from the start, the unassuming first date they both enjoyed immensely, their concern for one another when things weren’t going well, and the fact that despite their differences they trusted one another immensely. There was a realness to their relationship and they didn’t flash it around, while they knew people talked about them and they were photographed together, they didn’t purposely plan outings that would garner them publicity.
At times I got frustrated with them both for not communicating as well as they should, but on the other hand I admired the way Jordyn was on Chase’s side no matter what even when he couldn’t see it and how Chase constantly kept Jordyn’s spirits up when she needed it and let her know that he had faith in her always.
Easy to read, fun, enjoyable, sweet, and sexy you don’t want to miss Kelly Jamieson’s Playing Hurt.

This is the 6th book in the series and I am always amazed at how this author brings us something interesting each time she publishes. The Aces team is located in Chicago and the heroine in this one is a huge hockey fan from Chicago.
Both Jordyn and Chase are hurting and not able to participate in their fields as well as they would like. Random flirting on social media leads to a dare which leads to a perfect first date. What follows is a light romantic read. We get a bit of the hockey aspect with Chase. We know he not playing up to par. But for the most part, this is a contemporary romance with a very modern take on dating with the NHL in the background.
Loved the vulnerability of both of these characters. It was great to see some of the former couples in this story as well. Not my favorite of the series but a nice light read.

This is such a great series, however this book wasn't up there with the others. This is Chase and Jordyn's story. Chase, once a bit of a player now settled into his role with the Ace's and has a little girl crush thing going with pop star Jordyn. One day he tweets to her and she tweets back. Jordyn is from Chicago and is a hockey fan. Now living in California she roots for her home team, and the two banter back and forth on twitter until Chase purposes a wager on a game, a date- she agrees and she loses. They have a date, keeping a low profile as they're two public figures. Jordyn's been having a little scratchy throat off and on meanwhile Chase isn't performing on the ice. Turns out he's got a little problem with his wrist from an injury last season. Nothing to worry about he says. The relationship between the two develop and things are done and said and said and done. The puck hits the ice when Chase ignores his injury and that creates a problem between the two of them. Chase creates the problem.
This story for me lacked the real life character depth that the others had and it felt like I was sitting on a porch glider. Back and forth and not going anywhere. The rest of the series is fantastic, this one just fell short for me.

I really liked how this one started out, with Chase and his crush on Jordyn. I liked how they flirted over twitter and their first date. I was glad when things didn’t end there for them. Both of them seemed to have fun as they got to know each other. I think it helped that both knew the hassle of fame and could commensurate with the injuries they had. I did hate how Chase lashed out towards the end, hated that by trying to protect himself he hurt Jordyn. I was glad later when he realized that Jordyn had his best interests at heart and did something about it. He did a great job at getting back into her good graces!

3 stars, This book was pretty good, but I was often frustrated with the hero and his attitude towards the heroine.
Like all the books in this series, the hero is a hockey player. However, the heroine in this one is a famous pop star. I really liked the setup for the story, where they tweeted each other and eventually met after a bet made through twitter. I liked how unique the backstory made this book, but I definitely could have skipped the scene of the hero at the bar and deciding if he should go home with an OW or not. I’m not sure what this part really added to the book, besides making him seem like an oversexed asshole. Anyways, they meet and start dating and get into a bit of an on again/off again relationship. The hero pushes the heroine away pretty often with his insecurities and assumptions about her character. They eventually work out their shit and get a HFN ending. This author really sucks for not writing an epilogue for each book. I should take a star off on each of my reviews for that.

Jordyn knows how to get a reaction out of Chase, "my heart nearly exploded. “Jesus, Jordyn. Now I won’t be able to walk because my ***k’s so hard.” Chase can admit when hese wrong, “I was mad, yeah. But not really at you. More at myself. Because I knew you were right and I was being stupid. Guys are dumb that way.” I liked this book, I loved that Jordyn and Chase were each other's support system.
