David Clarkson is a massively under-rated theologian. I have actually owned these volumes twice previously; only to repurchase them again recently and finally begin reading them. Clarkson was an assistant to John Owen; so, it is easy to see why he is overshadowed by the latter. Nonetheless, Clarkson shared his senior's depth of learning while excelling Owen in clarity of expression. Admittedly, this volume consists of sermons, which may explain the clarity of the contents. We should also note that the print in these volumes is very small; to the point that one volume of Clarkson is roughly equivalent to two volumes of Owen.
