Award-winning and bestselling author and physician Jillian David quickly writes then slowly edits medical romance, paranormal romance, and romantic suspense books. She loves to use medical situations and characters to drive drama in her books. Her favorite cell is the platelet and her least-favorite organ is the pancreas. She fully believes that curse words, when appropriately deployed during surgery, are hemostatic. Which also explains why no book of hers will ever bleed out...
According to multiple starred reviews, Jillian's books cause sleep deprivation and a drop in productivity, as well as visceral responses from her vivid descriptions -- side effects which might qualify as a breach of her Hippocratic Oath to 'do no harm.'

Legacy Found is book four in the Hell’s Valley Paranormal Western Romance series by Jillian David. This series is a spin off of Jillian’s Hell to Pay series but you don’t need to have read it to enjoy this series. You actually could read this as a stand alone. I believe enough information is given so that you would understand what has happened previously in the other books. Each book concentrates on one of the four siblings. But, there is an ongoing story, the danger they are battling, that goes through out the four books. Your connection to the family and understanding of all that is happening would be better if you read the series in order.
We have been hearing about the missing brother, Kerr Taggart, throughout the series. Things for this family have been going down hill fast and they needed their brother. Now he is home and we are finally getting his story. Kerr was serving our country in Afghanistan when the unthinkable happened and his life was forever changed. Kerr is now home in Copper River, Wyoming to his family’s ranch to recuperate. Kerr has always had a thing for Izzy Brand but never acted on it. He’s not the man he used to be. Not only is his body not the same, but he still suffers from severe PTSD. But that’s not the only thing that is holding him back from finally asking sweet Izzy out for a date. Her family has a long time vendetta against the Taggarts.
Izzy Brand’s life has been going down hill fast lately. She not only works for the family’s hardware store in town, she is the only one that attempts to care for their ailing mother. Not only that, one of her brothers is missing, and two of them have been up to something on the ranch. There have been strange goings on out in their barn. And they’ve been mining for something on their ranch. She has no idea what they are up to except that it is bad. On top of that, Kerr is back. She’s had a crush on him for so long. But what would her brothers do if she acted on it?
Kerr and his brothers have been fighting back against the Brand family’s hatred of them for years. Now, on top of that, they have encountered an evil black smoke entity or monster that is bent on destroying them. They are convinced that this monster is tied to the Brand boys. Is Izzy involved or is she just another victim of the family? Can Kerr trust her?
Izzy wants Kerr in her life but even more, she needs to protect him from her brothers. To do that, she has to get information about what they are planning. So she has to make them believe she is with them. And by doing this, Kerr will believe she is one of them. It’s a small price to pay for his safety.
This book is filled with some sweet moments and some heart stopping suspenseful moments! There are so many truths revealed. We finally learn what the smoke monster is and what the Brand boys have been up to. We get more details of Ruth, the nurse’s place in all of this. We also learn that Izzy has a very unexpected link to all of this! Most of all, we see the Taggart family come together in both love and strength to battle the evil that has been after them. They learn that individually, they are strong, but united, they are unstoppable.
I have loved this series. If you would have told me that a paranormal series about a family of ranchers would be so addicting, I might not have believed you. But it is. I love this family and am so glad to see them all finally get their HEA’s. Thank you to Jillian David, for taking me on this crazy, wild journey!
Good God, finally all of this mess is resolved and we know who is the great one and his purpose. I really hope there are future stories in this universe
Jillian David really brought this series home without shutting it down or being too neatly wrapped! The battle of good versus evil, a demonic Hatfields and McCoys, Hell’s Valley is the setting for romance, a family full of secrets, loyalty and most of all love.
LEGACY FOUND is the culmination of all previous books, yet it tackles a new romance, the horrors of war and PTSD and all without sacrificing the paranormal aspects, which are actually, pretty low-key, overall. Kerr Taggert was forced to do the unimaginable in war, he came home a broken man and his psychic powers only added to his pain. Izzy was the youngest sister in the Brand family, a dark and twisted group out to take the Taggerts down.
Unlike her family in every way, she has fallen for Kerr, but their love is doomed before the final battle plays out, unless she can be strong enough to stand for what is right and Kerr.
I loved this series, it did not play to the “superhero” images so many paranormal tales do, these characters are “almost” normal. The Taggerts are close, they have seen a lot, been through a lot and finally they will stand together, a team! Jillian David has done a remarkable job of keeping things a little bit country, a little bit paranormal and a little bit romantic!
If you are looking for some easy reading that you can connect with, I say give all of this series a try!
I received a complimentary ARC edition from Jillian David!

Kerr’s PTSD is well described, the touchy subject matter being treated with sensitivity. The supporting characters add to the story nicely and readers who enjoy a beastly paranormal book will enjoy digging into this one!
I’m not normally a reader of paranormal stories but I love a cowboy, so this was a read that just had to be done! Kerr is injured in service and upon leaving the military heads back to Hell's Valley. He was hoping to come to terms with the life that he not only has now but also to work on what he wants from life in the future but as you can imagine life is what happens when you are trying to work things out, or at least for Kerr it is because it was clear that as much as he may not have a fullon plan for what he wants worked out…but he has set firm on one decision and that is that he wants more from one very special lady and that is the beautiful Izzy Brand. I liked Kerr, he was a great guy but primarily I was blown away by the fact that the author was willing to show such a strong man and all his suffering, not just the physical trauma but also the toll that his situation had taken on his mental health , the demon of PTSD was handled sensitively but with authority. I liked Izzy and Kerr, I loved the way they were when they were together, there was enough spice to keep it interesting, but it wasn’t overplayed. When Izzy oversteps the family boundaries and lets Kerr’s family know what her brothers are up to, all bets are off, and the feud seems to have taken a new path. What would those actions mean for Kerr and Izzy? And when the consequences become apparent, Kerr is faced with the dilemma of how to keep his woman safe? The options are not easy, he has to fight his own fears and use the powers that he would rather keep under wraps to protect her because living without her doesn’t bear contemplation. The paranormal aspect of the story was well written and as someone who isn’t normally found in the genre, I found it actually quite entertaining although I must admit there were aspects of the story that had me scratching my head!
- Received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for a fair review - A quote: “I still don’t know if I buy all this end-of-the-world stuff. No offense, but that’s pretty farfetched.”
I really enjoyed the characters in this story, the romantic couple and the secondary cast. Kerr is a wounded hero - the opening scene, showing how he suffered his serious injury, is amazing. The author, Jillian David, shows the impact of it and PTSD in Kerr’s life. Kerr and Izzy are supportive of each other and their interactions and relationship are both sweet and sexy (although I felt the sex scenes were a bit repetitive). I liked all the Taggart siblings and his special powers, but wasn’t that moved with the kind of paranormal dimensions the book explores; I had a few problems with the pre-apocalyptical scenery and all those battles (but it’s just a personal preference, other readers might enjoy it).
Finally! Kerr's book! Oh, I was waiting for this story practically biting my nails clean off!
The 4th book of the Hell's Valley series is also its finale - and boy, what a finale it was! Kerr Taggart, just like his twin sister and his big brothers, has psychic abilities. His powers grant him invisibility whenever he doesn't wish to be seen. But there's one specific person that the cowboy wants to notice him the most - Izzy Brand, the lonely daughter of the family that's been after the Taggarts and their ranch for a while now. Izzy herself has totally noticed the broken man with the witty mouth and the quick smile - but she feels like she doesn't deserve him. With an ancient evil coming to the surface to hurt the Taggarts, will Kerr and Izzy manage to mend each other's hearts, all the while trying to stay alive? And is there any hope for a future between them?
I loved Kerr! I loved him from the first book and every time a new book in the series came out, I hoped it would be his! Truth be told, I'm not disappointed Jillian David kept him for the last one - I dare say I enjoyed it even more this way. The man was not only a delicious hunky rancher - he was also funny, and sarcastic, and had a heart of gold! Totally different from his brothers, who were all rough edges and snarling at anyone outside the family.
Or so I thought.
Let's be honest, I hoped he wouldn't do the whole "Taggart thing", where he proceeds to emotionally push away his soulmate after things get serious in order to protect her... I wasn't so lucky. Turns out, even Kerr had his baggage. He may come out as happy-go-lucky and carefree at the others' books, but deep down, he, too, has his issues. The main one being his leg. He couldn't see his own worth, and kept translating any potential interest in his well-being (mainly from Izzy) to be a form of pity. It was heartbreaking to watch what was going on in his head - and at the same time I wanted to smack him. But he was still awesome in the way he kept trying to do the right thing, and how, despite his grudges, he kept going back to protect Izzy - even when he thought she had sold him out.
And don't get me started on the love scenes. Boooooy, that man could turn the heat on!
Izzy on the other hand was a total sweetheart. She was like Sara, only sweeter and quieter. The poor thing had a lot of things going wrong back home (btw, I knew Linc was a sick bastard, but OH MY GOD he took it to a whole new level in this book!), and it was like she had no real allies around her. I kid you not, I would have flipped long ago if I was to live in such an environment - and I'm not talking exclusively about her home. And good Lord was she self-sacrificing! I loved her! Nothing but pain and kindness in that one - my heart ached for her throughout the book. During the story, we can see that she could have left that hellhole a long time ago, but chose to stay behind for a mother that had no good word to share, and a family of neighbors that wasn't her own - some of whom even blamed her for her brothers' actions.
As for the other characters, Mrs. Davis knows how to keep her characters true to their nature. Garrison, in particular, was as contradicting as always - one minute he growls at Izzy, the next he's slightly on her side. And somewhere around the end of the book, I swear my heart stopped, because of that scene with Odie and Ruth. Mrs. David, I hope you can read this, and I'm telling you you nearly destroyed me with that scene in the snow! The holding hands, and the smiles, and... how dare you?! I couldn't stop sobbing!!!! (Also, when Ruth suggested Dante as the reinforcements, aaaah, I so hoped my darling viking would come!!!)
The story in itself was entirely different from the other three books. There's no truly peaceful moment. The pace is fast, and there's danger in every other page, which makes sense since Izzy had to spend time with her brothers and that... thing. (I'm not naming it, no spoilers!) Not only that, but since the ritual the Brands were doing was almost complete, there was no time to spare, everyone had to act fast and there was practically a ticking clock hanging above their heads. It was exhilarating, to say the least.
I'm so glad I got to read this series - and the book's definitely getting in my top list of the year's reads. If you haven't tried out Jillian David yet, folks, you really should. There's lot of talent in that one, and the kind of stories that will stay with you forever for their unique plots, plethora of interesting characters, and wonderful dialogues.
P.S.: That ending, though... Zach?!

Finally .... Kerr gets his book😄 he is brother to Garrison and Vaughn, and twin to Shelby (each have their own books.) They are the Taggart family and they own a ranch.
We start the book with a flash back, to when Kerr was in the army, we see the accident that alters Kerr’s life forever. He’s been bitter and angry for a long time. But seeing his siblings find love, Kerr wants that, and he knows exactly where to find it .....
Izzy is a Brand, but the Taggart’s and the Brand’s aren’t friends, in fact Izzy’s family have been trying to gain the Taggart’s ranch by any means necessary (including trying to kill a few of the family) Izzy isn’t like that, and she’s had enough, she’s sees an opportunity and informs Kerr and his family what her brothers are up to!!!
Seizing the chance, Kerr makes his intentions plain for Izzy. He will protect Izzy, don’t let the fact he’s got a prosthetic leg fool you into thinking he isn’t capable, he is and he will prove it to Izzy any way he can.
Each sibling had a unique quality/power that is theirs to own and control. Garrison can detect lies, Shelby can find anyone, anywhere and can see into the future, Vaughn has a built in danger and protection radar (it lets him know when bad things will happen to him) and Kerr has a psychic link to his twin and has the ability of knowing when danger will strike and how to combat it.
Now for those who have read the other books in this series (and to get the full story I think they need to be read in order) you’ll know there are forces controlling what’s going on. And each Taggart sibling has had to do battle in one form or another, and Kerr and Izzy are no exception. In fact because of Izzy telling the Taggart family what her family are planning, the evil stalking Kerr and his siblings turns its gaze upon Izzy, and now she’s in big trouble.
I’ve really enjoyed these books, there is the right amount steamy scenes (so many authors have pages and pages and pages of it🙄) and plenty of action and adventure thrown in.
So will the Kerr and the Taggart family win against the evil stalking them? And how will Izzy cope if Kerr has to kill her brothers?
Kerr Taggart is the last of the siblings and of course he has also special powers. Besides that he’s an army veteran who was severely injured in battle and still suffers from the after effects of his service, his life seems easily summarized: a vendetta with the Brand boys, the neighbors who are plotting to steal the family land + an eerie cloud creature who wants him and his family dead + a woman who Kerr never thought he’d get around to asking out… However, things aren’t that easy and straightforward for Kerr and there’s definitely so much more to him.
As in the previous installments of the series, the plot was divided into the romance between the main characters on the one hand and on the other, the “grand plot” regarding the cloud creature and the Taggart siblings’ supernatural powers.
The book was well balanced between the romance and the paranormal part and the author kept these two parts mostly separate from each other. Because the supernatural part found its closure in this installment, there was a bit more magic going on in this book. As I’m not a big fan of paranormal elements, I won’t go into details. Then, why did I read a whole series of books of this category? Because the strength of these books were definitely their characters. The character developments gripped me from book one and kept me riveted. I wanted so much to find out what was going to happen to the Taggarts and how they would find their counterparts!
I very much empathized with Kerr’s struggles and insecurities. Needless to say that this was thanks to the author’s compassionate descriptions in relation Kerr and his life experience. Izzy was a worthy female main character. I liked how she “matured” during the book and I liked even more that she wasn’t afraid to take a risk with Kerr. The romance between these two troubled souls was very satisfying. And yes, there were some hot scenes....... for those who like this.
Generally speaking, a nice and entertaining book.
I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
Legacy Found takes readers back again into the brand family saga as they are still working together to defeat the evil presence on their ranch. Book four focuses on one of the twins, Kerr and his blooming romance with rival family member Lizzy Taggart. Kerr has the power to make himself invisible. He still living in the past somewhat due to his leg injury. He cares for Izzy and wants to save her from the evik her family has become. On the other hand, Izzy wants to leave the small town for good, but also help the brand family out by investigating her family’s mysterious behavior.
Izzy strives to help the Taggart family figure out what is plaguing her family and she puts herself in terrible danger. She comes face to face with “The Great One”, a terrifying creature that reminds me of a demonic alien, and sees the terror and havoc it has caused. I like how this series has a calm, serene setting matched with the paranormal aspects. The fact that each family member has a special power is interesting. Seeing them work together as a team was exciting. I’ve really gotten to enjoy the Taggart family over the course of the series and feel connected to their stories.
Izzy and Kerr have liked each other for such a long time so it was nice to see their relationship really develop in this novel. They make for such a sweet couple with their fiery personalities. They are so protective of each other, family, and friends. The ending battle was so climatic and worth the wait to see if they can defeat the enemies. So many secrets that have been built up through the series have finally been revealed in the final installment. This was a fun and thrilling series from beginning to end! The concept alone of psychic/supernatural cowboys is enough to attract me. And the plot definitely delivers. David has created a interesting universe with cowboy readers you can root for!
Trigger Warning: Some Violence

Legacy Found by Jillian David is the fourth and last book in The Hell's Valley Series. Although the first three books were semi-stand-alone books, this last one wraps up the over-arching story.
If you've read the previous books, then you've probably been anxiously awaiting this final book. I'm happy to tell you that this final book does not disappoint. It is filled with the evil entity and all things paranormal, which results in tense moments and plenty of action. It also finally brings Izzy and Kerr together.
If you have never read the previous books, I would suggest you do so. Still, if you can't or won't, no worries. Just muddle through the characters and the woven in backstory, then you'll be well on your way to an entertaining read.
Alert: Due to vulgarities (including the “f” word) and a very descriptive sexual scene, I can only recommend this book for mature readers who are not easily offended.

The last book in the Hell's Valley series brings us the final battle against good and evil, and the last Taggart sibling to find love, just the throw it away if the neighboring family's youngest, Izzy Brand. Izzy and Kerr have liked each other for years, but because of the vendetta between the two families, they have kept their distance. Kerr is dealing with his own demon's on top of his families, but he can't keep his thoughts on the job at hand, he is too worried about Izzy. Their story was good, it had the highs and lows that make for a great romance, and the final battle was intense. He tries to push her way to keep her safe, but it doesn't work because she refuses to leave him to fight the evil taking over her family's ranch alone, even if he has broken her heart. I enjoyed their story. Not my favorite in the whole series, but still very enjoyable and am glad that in the end Kerr wakes up before it is too late and asks for her forgiveness for the harsh things he said. Great series and am so glad it introduced me to the cowboy genre of romances.
Wow! So much happened in this final book, it's hard to come up with a review that has no spoilers.
Kerr and Izzy finally get their story. In the previous books, we got glimpses of them checking each other out. This book turned up go the the chemistry and their connection.
There was more information about Ruth , Odie and their connection to the black, sulfuric cloud. It all came together about the Taggerts, the Brands, and the role Izzy and Kerr played.
This Book was full of action, suspense, mystery, danger, and supernatural powers. Several scenes had me holding my breath in anticipation. Powers grew, powers changed, and powers achieved some awesome fears while taking a toll on everything.
The ultimate battle of good vs. evil. This book also gifted us with an epilogue, a HEA, and a little surprise.

Following a traumatic accident in the Army, Kerr Taggart returns to Hell's Valley to come to terms with the man he’s become, so he can take the biggest chance of his life . . . asking the beautiful and forbidden Izzy Brand out on a date. But even if he achieves Mission Date Izzy Brand, Izzy’s family remains intent on destroying the Taggart family, and remains aligned with the rising supernatural creature plotting to steal Taggart land. This was really good, right from the beginning. I really liked Kerr (although there were a few times I wanted to smack him upside the head) right off. I liked Izzy too, however for about the first half of the book I was really questioning her thought process. I hadn’t read any of the other books in the series, but it was pretty easy to catch on about the family dynamics. At this point, I plan on going back to read the first three! I highly recommend. **I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
Legacy Found is book four in the Copper River Cowboys series by Jillian David and I highly suggest reading all the books in order to understand all the characters and their psychic abilities.
This book has it all! There were sweet and naughty scenes, good vs. evil, love vs. hate and then toss in some mortality vs. immortality for good measure! I was glued to my seat to see where the pieces of the Taggart puzzle fell. Kerr and Izzy have the odds stacked against them, but with the Taggart family behind them – anything is possible.
Tons of suspense and action – all the key players will be needed to defeat “The Creature” who is wanting to take over and destroy the world. All your questions will be answered and this book wrapped up the conclusion to the story very well!
What a great way to end this series! I felt like the story had higher stakes than the others. Probably because Kerr’s love interest is “related” to the people trying to kill them. Plus, her connection allows us to see what’s going on inside the Brand ranch. Oh I would also really like the story of Ruth and Jodi‘s adventures throughout the years since, since they are the Taggarts ancestors. Overall great book!
I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
It was nice to see Kerr and Izzy, characters from earlier books in this series, get the happy ending they deserve, and to see the Taggart clan finally conquer the evil that's been threatening them. But after reading three books with basically the same plot, I docked a star for this book being a bit too predictable.
It also felt like the profanity got progressively worse with each book in the series, which I don't love. But I'm happy to have finished the series, and I love the supernatural elements that spiced up an otherwise standard western romance.
Another wonderful story and great wrap up of the questions that were raised in previous books. If you haven't already read the others there is enough background for the story to stand alone...but if you have it is all the richer.
Great characterisation and writing make it hard to put this down. This time it's Kerr's time to be in the spotlight, much to his displeasure.
I recieved a copy of this book from ebook discovery in exchange for an honest and freely given review.
Having only read one other book from this series I was more than happy to read this book to find out what is going on. Full of sibling humor and paranormal suspense I really enjoyed this book. Kerr and Izzy are from two rival families but must come together to fight an evil presence threatening to destroy their families.
I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. This is my voluntary and honest opinion.
This paranormal tale of a ranching family fighting evil is sure to keep you guessing. There is romance and family bonding. This is the fourth installment in the series and I think it would be helpful to have read the previous books to fully enjoy the background story. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The ongoing fight of good against evil takes center stage as Kerr and Izzy start connecting. Tough as nails but haunted by his past, Kerr has several strikes against him. Izzy knows something is drastically wrong with her brothers but does not understand the whole picture. And the end is nigh..... A satisfactory conclusion to the series
This was the first book I read in this series. I have a feeling I should have started at the beginning and could have understood it better. But it makes for an interesting read!
This was such an amazing read. Property feud, kidnapping, killing, monsters, paranormal abilities, the whole enchilada. Really enjoyed the series. Loved the ending on this one. So cute!
Wow, what a series and not a loser in the bunch. Close knit family with special gifts, each with a role to play in saving humanity. Each finds love during their challenges and the final confrontation brings things beautifully to an end...with HEAs all around.
This story brought together all the pieces from the first three books in the series. Kerr and Izzy are tied up in a paranormal struggle between the Taggarts and Brands, centered on Taggart farmland. I really enjoyed watching the characters and other elements from previous stories being referred to and built on to enhance the story. Kerr and Izzy were wonderful together- each supporting and bringing out the best in the other. The power of family working together to resolve things in the end was very satisfying to see.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.
