This was a nice continuation of the story, but the way it tells said story isn’t very efficient.
First, the sheer amount of impact and speed lines made many of the action panels very hard to decipher exactly what was happening. Secondly, the time jumps were very abrupt. Thirdly, the cutesy parts mostly involving Kohibari, where in general a character gets all pouty or excited (I don't really know how to explain it), took me out of the story every single time. This is a serious war story involving slavery, rape, and in this particular volume eating raw human meat, so why are there panels like this? It just feels so out of place. I get that it's a staple in anime/manga, but so is fan service and that's definitely not needed in every story, because it's AWKWARD.
I'm disappointed with this volume because of two things: the way it's told, and the fact that the first volume was so good.
I was on the fence about this series for various reasons. My only complaint is that the arc/first 2 volumes feels too short/rushed in some ways, mainly due to the transitioning of the story. I personally would have liked for the story to have lasted ½-1 more volume to round/flesh it out a bit more.
3.75 stars, i never imagined encountering instalove in a manga about centaurs but here we are. the story does feel pretty quick, even for a manga, but the art style is beautiful and this volume had a few more heartwarming moments. minuki was a fascinating character and i liked hayame's character development.
Un deuxième tome tout aussi bouleversant que génial. Une fin tragique pour Matsukaze, une douce fin pour Kohibari. Mais aussi un tome qui montre qu'on peut changer malgré son passé. Bref un très jolie tome.
This is one of the best manga series that I have read in a long time. The artwork, the storyline, the pacing, I love it all. I need to read the rest of this series as soon as it comes out, I want to inhale it all.
The art was beautiful. However the story felt off? The pacing was too quick, and I had to re read pages several times to fully understand what was happening.
