Hirohiko Araki ( 荒木飛呂彦) is a Japanese manga artist. He left school before graduation from Miyagi University of Education.
He enjoys the baseball manga Kyojin No Hoshii (Star of the Giants); the video games Mario Kart and Bomberman; and likes Prince and other African-American singers, as well as jazz, rock, and rap.
Thank you Araki for another amazing part of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. Part three is probably my favorite for so many reasons and I’m sad to see it end.
This volume contained so much. The face reveal of Dio. (Which I must say is so much better looking than the anime version.) unfortunate tragic deaths from some beloved characters. The iconic manga panel of Dio and Jotaro walking toward each other.
The ending was a little depressing if you ask me familiar with how the rest of the story Jojo’s plays out. I wish Araki did reunite Polnareff, Joseph and Jotaro in one of the later parts. I would love to see them all happy together for a little bit. They deserve that.
I hate having to say goodbye to Jotaro. (Probably my favorite jojo) but at least we will see him in later parts. But for now, we get to say hello to Josuke in part 4, Diamond is Unbreakable.
This is an amazing Battle Shounen Manga in every way.
It was The 80s in the Jojo world, now. The main character, Jotaro Kujo, The 3rd Jojo in our story about the multi generatinal Joester family blood line. And i haven't read the later parts yet, but probably the most bad ass Jojo ever. Really a hard boiled delinquit, hard boy character in a modified all black japanese high school boy uniform with a chain hanging from the colar and a cool hat on his head and his ...Yare Yare Daze.... One liner.
Joester family arch nemesis Vampire Dio was back ! and that was literally killing Jotaro's mother... Dio had stolen the body of the first Jojo, Jonathan. He was connected to Joester family now. This bizarre union woke the spiritual power known as the stands in Joester family... Jotaro's mother Holy couldn't control his Stand power and it was killing her, so to save her Joesters must kill Dio ! and Dio was in Cairo, Egypt and he had so many stand user minions around the world. Could the Joesters kill Dio in time and save Holy ?!?!? dun dun dun... :) They would travel from Japan to Egypt to get Dio ! It was a road trip manga as well. Joesters and their allies fought aginst Dio's minions in Asia and Middle East to reach Dio and kill him at most of the manga.
It was an amazing read, none the less. The Stand fights were not just physical brutal fist fights but there were really fun, interesting stand fights like gambling and video game challanges, taking stand users body under control in interesting ways and regular fist fights, ofcourse. It was as fun as a battle shounen could be to the fullest.
an iconic part not only because of the introduction of stands but because of jotaro as the protagonist. this last volume was one of the longer ones but it didn’t feel like anything was dragged on and is probably my favourite volume in part 3, even though it continues the trend of my favourite jobro dying and i wish nothing but misery for polnareff which i know sort of actually becomes his reality. i think going back to this part for a second time makes me appreciate it more - my two main problems with it originally were 1) the larger group of characters took away from jotaro (and it’s JOJO’s bizarre adventure after all) and 2) some of jotaro’s fights seemed like ass pulls (like when jotaro stops time for the first time i had no idea what was going on). but after the second run through of this part and seeing a later part of the series where those two issues are even bigger in my opinion, i realize that jotaro actually works quite well as the protagonist who kinda hangs back until he needs to be Cool Stoic GuyTM, and what i thought were ass pulls was actually just my lack of imagination for just how far a really hard punch can get you. i will keep kakyoin’s memory alive by wearing my Cool Kak sunglasses and cherry earrings.

THIS is what I have been waiting for. Dio felt fittingly powerful, and distinctly like the end boss of Stardust Crusaders. The deaths, sacrifices and strategies of this volume were all top tier, with a climactic end battle of godly proportions. This was fun, clever and absolutely bombastic. Plus, I FINALLY understand the memes!
The grand finale of Stardust Crusaders! This was an epic battle with lots of great art, some of which has been made into popular memes. Stardust Crusaders is my favorite Jojo arch
The final volume. I liked that they chose to publish the whole Dio fight in one volume. Dio looked great (but don't think I didn't notice that he gained lipstick half way through.) I also liked that the fight was quite long and it looked like JoJo may lose as any moment. My criticisms: I don't understand why they chose not to translate some stuff. I get muda (because 'useless' doesn't quite have the same ring to it), but what was the point of Nukesaku? Also I wish Holly had been given more than half a page. Her illness was the catalyst for fighting Dio, so shouldn't we get a triumphant recovery? Finally, I criticized the art a bit in previous volumes, but I'm so glad we got this Dio and not the Dio on the cover. He looks so... mushy... wtf happened to Araki? Over all I really love this series (or this part). There were some lows, but there were many highs and ultimately everything payed off.
All of the previous nine books were leading up to this final battle that takes up this entire volume. Is it worth it? Absolutely. I couldn’t help rooting for DIO all along and the final twist felt a bit unfair, but then again, pulling abilities out of one’s ass is something the reader kind of gets used to in Jojo. After all, an unexpected new ability is what made Dio survive Phantom Blood, so it is somewhat poetic that it would end this way. Jotaro really grew on me - I much prefer the manga version, since here he seems more lika a human being and less like a stone faced robot. I switched to manga just after the Cameo fight and I have to say that I enjoyed it far more than the anime - something about the animation style just doesn’t sit with me. I will just watch the final episodes for the glorious “Za Warudo” and then move onto Diamond is Unbreakable I suppose.
What a journey this has been... It took me almost 5 years to finish this one. I don't even know why waited that long because I liked the anime adaptation all those years ago. So to sum my feelings...
Stardust Crusaders are not definitely the best in the series, as much as I loved them. The side characters and the whole journey aspect? Brilliant. The villain? Also wonderful (I am sucker for vampires and the whole Joestars vs Dio ever since Phantom Blood). I just... don't particularly care for Jotaro and Stands in general. Might seem weird, but yeah... I liked Hamon better. It was way simpler and although some Stands are cool, it's still inferior to the wonders of Hamon.
The final battle between Dio and Jotaro was pretty epic, ngl. The real MVP is Kakyoin though. My sweet precious Kakyoin who ended up just like all of my other precious donuts.
My favorite will always be Battle Tendency. Nothing is gonna change that (Golden Wind got close though!).
That was an amazing series! WOW. I absolutely loved it. Stardust Crusaders made me fall in love with this series in a way the first two Parts didn’t. I love a good road-trip narrative and this sucked me in, the fights were fun and crazy, and the characters were genuinely great. The bond between our protagonists was tangible and I LOVED them. I will be reading every single part of this series ASAP.
I see why ppl like this series. It is indeed fabulous but this arc the characters have no development and everything is flat and drags until you get to volumes 8 9 and 10
(Even though this is just the final volume this is a review of the entirety of Stardust Crusaders). Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is a series that I have enjoyed since 2018 and still do enjoy to this day. I had started Part 3 because of how popular it was, the incredible music that was in the anime adaptation, and because I loved Parts 1 & 2. I went into the story already knowing some spoilers, mainly knowing that 3 of the main characters, Iggy, Avdol, and Kakyoin would die, and I knew the ability of DIO (the main antagonist) and his stand "The World". Even though I knew this information, the story was still incredible, keeping me on the edge of my seat during every fight with the enemy whether their ability being able to shapeshift into anyone, or forcing the Crusaders to play poker with their own souls. This part also marked the end of the series use of "Hamon" which was the old power system is used in favor of "Stands". Stands in the series are the manifestation of the user's soul, which means depending on the user, will have different appearances and abilities. However if someone doesn't have a strong will, they will not be able to control their ability and it will slowly kill them, which ties into the main conflict of the story. Our main protagonist, Jotaro Kujo, is a Japanese delinquent who recently was possessed by an "evil spirit" which is later learned to be his stand. It turns out that he, his mother Holly Kujo, and his grandfather Joseph Joestar (who was the protagonist of Part 2 50 years before Part 3) all gained stands because of DIO, a vampire who has been trapped at the bottom of the ocean for 100 years had stolen the body of Jonathan Joestar, who was the protagonist of Part 1 and Jotaro's great great grandfather. Jonathan had sacrificed himself to defeat DIO but it turns out that he survived and stole the body of Jonathan for himself to use. This caused all members of the Joestar bloodline to awaken their stand abilities. Since Holly is a kind and caring person she fell ill from her stand's awakening. In order to save his mother, Jotaro, and his allies, Joseph Joestar, Mohommed Avdol, Noriaki Kakyoin, Jean Pierre Pollereff, and Iggy must travel to Cairo, Egypt, and defeat DIO in 5o days. One of the main themes of Part 3 and really JJBA as a whole is hope overcoming evil and despair. This can be seen in the main ability of DIO's stand: the ability to stop time and freely act for 5 seconds. This ability allows him to effortlessly kill Kakyoin before anyone is able to react and make everyone think that he killed Joseph. Even when faced against such power and innumerable odds stacked against him, Jotaro still fought against DIO, and since they have similar abilities being low range, but high power, speed, and precision with punches, Jotaro learns that he also has the ability to stop time, but for a much shorter amount of time. But it is with determination and knowing that he is fighting against evil incarnate that allows Jotaro to stand victorious against something that has plagued his entire bloodline for over a century, and will continue to for decades. I think that this should be read by anyone who likes stories with action and incredible characters, and especially to those who have read or watched Parts 1 & 2. Even though this is the 3rd part in the series, it marks a point where so many changes that you can read it without any prior knowledge of the series and still understand it.
Jotaro finally comes out… as an ally… of justice. This is an iconic finale to an iconic part. I started out reading Stardust Crusaders just trying to get through it so I could treat myself with Diamond Is Unbreakable, but I ended up developing a new appreciation for this part in its written form. Despite this being one of the most somber volumes of the part, it is still full of that classic Jojo humor that is my personal favorite part. I just never quite understand the mechanics of stand battles, especially in manga, so I was truly just vibes only for half of this volume. Dio is evil, yes I get it, but he’s also just a silly goofy guy in awe of cars. ALSO with the world, when Polnareff is trying to get up the stairs, Dio is literally punking him. Like he walks up a stair, Dio picks him up (assumption) and carries him back down and then runs back up the stairs and restarts time all for the bit. Iconic stuff. Kakyoin’s death was not the one that affected me most viscerally, but it is I think one of the worst deaths in the entire Jojo universe. He just wanted a friend :’( and he had finally felt understood for the first time in his (too short) life. Jotaro was sooo silly here with his books shoved in his clothes and physically stopping his heart all for the sake of a sick ass 4D chess move. Finally, Joseph pretending to be Dio resurrected has got to be one of the funniest moments in the series. Like genuinely so in character and the perfect little reprieve from pages and pages of sadness. Araki is also so girly coded with drawing Dio naked not once, but twice. He’s just like us!

Several times during this final volume they mention that their entire adventure has taken place over less than 50 days and this volume itself takes place over only a matter of minutes for the most part. I can not imagine how it must have felt for people who had to wait months on months for the story to unwind over years it felt way too drawn out for me and I got the read the entire 10 volumes in only a few months. Don't know why I felt the need to say that but there we go. Any way this volume is fantastic. We finally get some full on face time with Dio and his Stand The World. There was loads of action and Dio was truly a worthy adversary which was good to see as I thought the build up might have lead to a bit of a let down when we finally got to see him. I was really pleased that they actually killed off some characters as this was the last volume in the series. I love a good death, one that sticks that is. It would have been nice to get a bit more time after the final battle to see how the characters were affected by everything as it wasn't really touched on too much while the fighting was still on going. I really enjoyed the scenes with the Senator (called Wilson Phillips - I'm going to have 'Hold On' stuck in my head all week) and how easily he was corrupted. As true today as it was back then. A great volume full of action and a satisfying end to Part 3 of the Jojo saga.
A Surprisingly uplifting end to an otherwise darkly bizarre part.
Hirohiko Araki's Jojo's Bizarre Adventures Part 3 Vol. 10 would be an all together disappointing addition to the saga if it weren't for the extraordinarily charming antagonist; Lord Dio Brando. His first full appearance, in the confrontation with Polnareff, Dio shines with menacing divinity. Araki draws not just one but two, completely different (and beautiful) full page spreds of Dio. Signifying that he is in fact no longer Dio Brando the lord, but DIO the God.
At this stage in the story the Jostar team had dwindled down to just 4, Kakyoin, Polnareff, Joseph, and Jotaro. All fantastically had important roles in this one specifically for figuring out DIO's stand The World. Polnareffs boldly confronted first to help gather important information on the Stand. Kakyoin used that and his own experimenting to figure it out. Joseph deciphered Kakyoins message to send to Jotaro and Jotaro used all of that to do what he does best.
Even though it all only happens in 4 to 6 minutes, the battle is just so satisfying and rewarding due to this. By the end I wasn't wanting more because I was satisfied.
Part 3 is often referred to as repetitive and formulaic, but it had to be for the introduction of Jojo's best selling feature, Stands. By the end of the journey you're left knowing that these Stands have endless possibilities and that's why it's the perfect set-up for the series.
Finishing Stardust Crusader’s is equivalent to coming off a great high. You had a ball, you’re kinda sad it’s over, but it feels good to see it finished.
Dio is a masterclass villain. The buildup to his big reveal is a wonderfully slow burn and his fight with the Stardust Crusader’s makes good on every tease he’s given. He’s a terribly powerful, charming and compelling menace.
The remaining four get their shine and all play a role in the showdown with Dio. Everybody earns their stripes and some tear your heart out doing so. Looking at you, Noriaki Kakyoin 🥹
Jotaro vs Dio feeds families. They’re great foils as Stand users, which is a dramatic irony because their stands are mirrors of each other. It’s great writing by Araki and over and over it emphasizes that the Joestar’s and Dio’s fates are forever linked. I’m a sucker for a good “destiny” theme.
Art is insane, choreography is phenomenal, and paneling is creative as usual.
All in all, fell in love with Part 3. The Joestar party traveling the middle and far east region scratched the “adventure” itch in a way other series haven’t. I’m itching to start Part 4 but don’t want to let go of this current cast yet.
ZA WARDOU! (THE WORLD) Toki wo tomare! (TIME HAS STOPPED!) Kurae! (KNIVES!) Roada rollera da! (Road Roller!/STEAM ROLLER! [there was a fucking steam roller attack on Jotaro!]) WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! Muda muda muda muda muda muda muda! [USELESS! USELESS! USELESS! USELESS!] Soshite toki ga ugoki desu. (Time begins to flow.)
Basically this entire volume is the final battle with Dio. Some folks die (#RIP), Dio busts out what the old CPS3 arcade game features (because they take it from this volume/set of the series) and Dio is bananas (say it again~) with ZA WARDOU/THE WORLD!!! stand.
I don't like how Jotaro is SOMEHOW able to beat him by somehow stopping time himself (it's never hinted in the series until "oh we have the same stand, nearly! Just different names!) and Joseph coming back from the dead kinda makes me think Dio REALLY is possessing him in the 4th saga of the series, but we'll have to see when Shonen Jump puts that up to read.
"It sent chills down my spine, like someone stuck an icicle up my ass!!" Gotta love Joseph Joestar. I am SO glad I've finished part 3 because it was my least favorite. That being said, I did like the relationship the five main leads had though. That was probably my favorite thing about this whole part. I like that Araki put the whole Dio fight in one volume. It was a long build up but I think it definitely paid off. Does anyone else think Kakyoin looks like Max from "A Goofy Movie" with his shades on? Hopefully Jotaro went home and treated his mother better.
Polnareff meets face to face while the others fight to defeat one Dios lackeys. Time is running out and the sun is setting, the time to kill Dio is now. The group prepares for what might be their final fight and end up killing another one of Dios lackeys in the meantime. Meanwhile, Dio escapes while the gang looks for him, it seems as if they're at square one again. Kakyoin sacrifices himself to reveal Dios stand, The World. Thanks to Kakyoins sacrifice Jotaro finally defeats Dio and all is right for now.

Amazing masterpiece. Almost this whole volume is the fight against Dio and Araki 100% delivers on all the build-up.
The characters are fully realized and each plays their part perfectly. Kakyoin, Joseph, Polnareff, Jotaro, and Dio.
This is why manga conquered the world. Only the manga format can deliver this level of character, drama, and action. Immersion emerges from raw page count and visual storytelling, with an emphasis on facial expressions and dynamic layouts. Araki triumphs without any politics, philosophy, or pretension — just honest, character-driven storytelling.
Honestly, just wow this book the final part it was just so amazing. Every detail had you on the edge of your seat emotional high you never knew what was gonna happen. I never knew who was gonna live who was gonna die every single page was an absolute thrill to read. Just when I thought the fight with Dia would be over it went on for just a little bit longer and it was just so good. It wasn’t overtime and was a genuine joy to read, I think anybody reading this book or this series has to be enjoying themselves. I am enjoying myself to the fullest.
