Newly released to celebrate the SECOND ANNIVERSARY of the International Bestselling Black Shamrocks MC series, Truth & Treachery is a limited-edition boxed set containing the first three books in the series plus two exclusive novellas that aren't available for sale anywhere else.
Family comes first, doesn't it?
On the surface, the Black Shamrocks MC is exactly what an outlaw motorcycle club should be. Unapologetically brutal. Unquestionably ruthless. Unwaveringly loyal. The brotherhood appears rock solid; allied and impenetrable. Their various blood ties only serve as a reminder of the generations of kinship and family that came before them.
Dig a little deeper and the illusion begins to shatter. Beneath a well-cultivated facade of unity, old tensions simmer and new alliances are created.
Game plans are being put into action. Illegitimate legacies are being secured. Deals with the devil are being made.
From birth, they’ve been taught that family is everything. What will happen when they discover that their family is behind the plot to bring about their downfall?
Included in this volume:
Soothing Suffering (Black Shamrocks MC | Novella) Seizing Control (Black Shamrocks MC | Book One) Making Choices (Black Shamrocks MC | Book Two) Seeking Redemption (Black Shamrocks MC | Book Three). Conquering Circumstances (Black Shamrocks MC | Novella)

Wife to a Harley riding, quintessential Aussie bloke and mum to two teens, Kylie splits her non-writing time between reading, sharing memes, avoiding black jelly beans, and lamenting her inability to drink a cup of tea before it goes cold.

I got this book when it was free. It had been sitting on my kindle for a while so when I got the urge to read something dark, gritty and about an MC I ended up picking this up. I had a lot of feelings about this book. I don't really know how to really explain without giving so much away. The books should be in a different order because we started off with a novella which is fine, yet it gave us part of the story that had me going what? How did this occur without much backstory? Now, then when we get into the second story everything started slowly coming together and it all started to make sense. There were a lot of grammatical errors and I know that I am not the grammar queen far from it. But honestly, this needed to be looked over another time.
I did enjoy getting to know the characters I thought the author did a great job with how they were feeling and describing what they were going through. I just honestly didn't know how much one person can honestly take. From the beatings to the rapings. How is she still alive honestly without any head damages.
Just an FYI there is raping and beating in all the stories, not just the first one.
Lainey finds herself in a relationship that as we learn and she learns is not the best. He is abusive, manipulative, a rapist and so much more. Lainey is this sweet girl who doesn't want to bore anyone with her problems because of her pride. As we all know pride is one of those characteristics that is a downfall for many. As everything comes out into the light we see just how far and deep one will turn on one another or allow addiction to pull them into where they won't make the good choices.
Not only do we get backstory with Lainey and Mik but also other characters that will play a big part in everything that has happened with Lainey. It was interesting to hear their story and what they had gone through at times.
As much as I enjoyed the story I did wonder how in the heck was our main character always finding herself in bad situations. Like homie g it seems bad luck is following you all around. With each story, we get something out of it and it all comes together but this is one of those box sets that honestly is dark and gritty. Not for the faint of heart.
There was a scene with Mik and Lainey that needed to be changed. So them two are doing their thang, and Mik says "Tonight's moves were courtesy of YouTube." Umm, what? So YouTube is showing folks some certain moves? I thought that was another site with the word hub in it. Yet, don't get me to lying.
Another scene with Lainey I totally understand having a best friend but pretty much always going and sitting on his lap? Like, that just sounds weird to me. I understand the feelings you could have for him and vice versa but come on this sounds a bit crazy to me.
I didn't like the fact that all the girls that were around the MC's were considered wh***s. I felt like that was too much.
She's been damaged by someone that she should not have been with. He threatened her with destroying her twin, when she she said she was leaving, he had raped and physically abused her.
Now she has to get her head back in the game, try to put those memories aside, concentrating on the good man in front of her, who is ready to do what he must to bring her back from the brink.
2 Seizing Control
So a new man walks into her life, and all should be good. Her twin warns her off him and all her friends desert her. Then he wants to govern what she wears, who she sees and what she thinks! Yeah, not happening. However, he also has a few tricks up his sleeves to force her into staying. Boy, you want believe what it takes to get rid of this jerk!
3 Making Choices
So, we now view Timber's attachment to the Princess and to the red headed surgeon.
We learn a lot of why Beast is at loggerheads with Mad Dog, with a few surprises along the way.
4 Seeking Redemption
When you lie and hide your true self away from the ones who love you, it becomes hard to understand who the real you actually is. Then add a layer of drug use, well you definitely don't know who were and who you could be. Then along comes one person who becomes your saving grace. The one that you realize that a life without would be a living death. That's when you see what your true self looks like, reflecting in her eyes.
5 Conquering Circumstances
There's most likely no person untouched by the Big C. Be it by a family member or loved one, this disease brings the strongest to their knees.
So to find it bringing a family back together, it's not a bad story to read.
Mik and Lainey are survivors of almost every tortuous hell you could imagine. Lainey is raped, physically abused and betrayed by her ex, her father, her brother and closest friend. Mik is betrayed by his mentor, members of his motorcycle club, a corrupt political figure, and rival motorcycle club. However, their love survives all this and months of jail for Mik.
These are some nasty and ugly books. They are not worth the paper they were writtten on. That somebody would make money writting about the violance done against women and make them romance books.
