Avalon has always felt different and alone. The ocean, along with the friends she’s made under the water, is the only constant in her life. She comforts herself with the notion that alone is at least safe. There’s no one to hide her extraordinary abilities from, to hide her dreams of living beneath the crashing waves forever.
Then Xander comes for her, reluctantly, judging by his snarly attitude. But, attitude aside, he draws her into a fantasy world, one filled with family and friendship and … the home she’s always craved.
He gives her the smallest glimpse of perfection, only to then inform her that it’s not a world she can have. Political issues in Royale will make her time there temporary. Her time in Royale and with Xander.
She will stay until the very end, though. If there’s one thing that she’s determined to prevent, it’s Laous getting his hands on the starslight stone. A stone which is keeping two worlds alive and functioning.
A happily ever after might not be in the cards for her, but she’s determined to make it happen for her friends.

"My heart swelled, and I realized the strength in a group of strong, confident women who weren’t trying to tear each other down. Support and encouragement. They were straightening my crown rather than trying to steal it, because they all wore crowns as well."
The 4th book was by far the best in the series. The main character was cool, the love story had a better built up than those in the second and third book and the ending was sweet. I really could see a development, because the third book had really lowered my expectations for this final installment, but, luckily, it proved better and, thank you God of Readers, there was no insta-love.
"I was ready to take Laous down. I might not be getting the fairy-tale ending, but I would make sure all my friends did. I’d be satisfied if that happened."
》》The Plot《《
The last secret keeper, Avalon Shortlin, has always known she was special. She loves the sea more than any human she has ever met, can swim faster than it should be possible and can hold her breath for very long periods of time. But when Xander, Maya and Chase come for her, telling her the entire story of Laous and the Overworld, she knows she has the chance to finally discover a place where she can fit in, finding a family along the way. And maybe love too.
》》Favorite Scenes《《
🐙 Not exactly a scene, but I definitely loved the female support and the importance of friendship that was portrayed here
"She probably didn’t know then that a true friendship, unconditional in its love and loyalty, was one of the rarest things to find. And the most precious."
🐙 Avalon meeting Xander for the first time 🐙 Lexen catching Emma every time she fell
“Emma, babe, you really have to stop falling down. You’re giving me anxiety.” Emma and this overlord were clearly in love. He held her like she was precious, cradling her close, his gaze locked on hers. She had one hand resting against his face as he moved closer to us.
🐙 The "arrangement" and the rules Xander and Avalon came with
🐙 The banter between Ava and Xander
“I mean, if the four houses have an inbuilt standoffishness with each other, then how are Lexen, Daniel, Chase, and Xander besties?” Xander snorted under his breath. “Besties? Seriously, human … never refer to us as besties again.” I tilted my head to the side and faked a broad smile. “Seriously, alien … would you prefer BFFs?”
🐙 The denial they had any real feelings
"I knew now this was just a byproduct of the secret keeper thing. Nothing more. Wearing his clothes was literally the only time I was getting into his pants. End of story."
🐙 Daniel breaking the rules to offer everyone some closure
🐙 The bonus scenes
》》Conclusion《《
Since this was the last book, I'll give a little overview for all the 4 of them. The first one was a bit boring at first, but it had a good character built up, a nice romance and it was really good at describing the world and helping us settle into the story. The second book had my favorite female MC, Callie, but the romance seemed a bit forced and sudden. The third one had that insta-love that annoyed me terribly, but it began really good and spent like half the book adding layers to the main character and the relationships between Emma, Lexen, Callie and Daniel. This last installment was the best, as it had a pretty good balance between the way the romance was built, the characters and the plot.
It's a cute series, easy to read and with a happy ending, suitable for middle grade and high-school, but also enjoyable for young adults.
“I realized the strength in a group of strong, confident women who weren’t trying to tear each other down. Support and encouragement. They were straightening my crown rather than trying to steal it, because they all wore crowns as well.”
This is the end of the Secret Keeper’s series, and Ava and Xander’s story.
It’s pointless to go into the plot of a last book in the series without spoiling it all, so I won’t go over the plot except to say it was a satisfying finale.
I liked Ava and Xander’s story. Xander was very reluctant about the soulmate deal throughout the three previous books, and that doesn’t stop after he meets Ava.
Ava is strong and confident. She knows there’s something unusual about her, and is relieved to find out what it is and others like her.
I loved the friendship between all the girls. Callie is still my favorite.
This is a fun, and now finished series on kindle unlimited. If you like Jaymin Eve’s other books, you’ll like this series. Also if you are tired of girls in YA tearing each other down rather than building each other up, you’ll really enjoy this series.
I loved this book. I loved this series! And I wish there could be more! Pleeeeeeaaaaase 😊😬
This book, actually, this entire series is the kind that will give you a bad book hangover. (That’s a compliment, btw!) Because after you’re done, you’ll either be in a slump bec new reads don’t measure up to the high you have from the Secret Keepers series; or, you’ll jump straight in to re-read from House of Darken bec you want to relive all the fabulousness that makes up this series.
Congratulations Jaymin Eve! You’ve got an absolute winner again!
Overall, I'd have to describe the experience as inconsistent. That being said, it started on a high note and it ended on a high note. What can ya do? Am I right?
I was so nervous going into this book because Xander was so against the secret keepers being fated to the overlords, but his and Ava’s story turned out to be amazing! You start the final book in the series meeting Ava, the House of Royals secret keeper. She has an intense connection to the ocean and her inner dialog was fun to read. I loved watching her strength as her character developed throughout the story. For the sake of not spoiling anything I will just say that this book is seriously action packed and wraps things up nicely. Everything is explained well. I only wish we could have more of this group because their personalities and dynamic are so hilarious to read. Fantastic conclusion to a series I highly recommend!!!
I’m so sad to have finished this series. I could hardly put it down. I loved that all the characters were so different but meshed so well together. Xander and Avalon had an interesting start and I was worried the family thing would be more of an issue. I loved that Avalon stood up to his A hole ways in the start of the story. Xander was such a protective guy towards everyone. Great series and I hope we can eventually get another story from it!
The fourth and final installment to The Secret Keepers series is thoroughly entertaining. I couldn't put it down I devoured this book in 2 days. I love how everything wrapped up nicely and everyone got there HEA
This was a great end to a lovely series! Each story was different and original. I especially loved this one. I think I related most to Avalon. She was a loner and used to taking care of herself at a young age, something I can totally relate to. She also loves to swim, another thing we have in common. I liked how she dissected things, like when Xander first approached her, she listened and wasn’t so naive as to take his word for it with no proof. Of course, it didn’t go how she may have expected it to, but her intent wasn’t to just take a cute guys word for it.
I was not expecting to feel so sorry for Xander. I mean, each of the princes had issues within their own houses but I think Xander’s family had more ‘face time’ in this book than the others so that might be a factor why I felt so close to him. He was very duty bound and protective over them. Especially his sister. You could tell he truly cared about his people and that he felt he had to choose between his happy ending or his people. I was very impressed with Avalon’s understanding of his dilemma. She didn’t try to make him choose or make him feel guilty about his choice. All the more reason why he probably felt so intensely about her.
One thing about this book that was drastically different than the previous three was the sex. They took a much more casual role about it in this one. I was quite surprised and insanely happy about it actually. It wasn’t about the physical chemistry, and so when they went there it wasn’t a huge deal. The emotional is where they focused their intensity, and it was amazing. They shared their baggage and just basked in each others understanding presence. The love story really took the cake for me in this one, almost to the point of me not really caring how they would be stopping the big bad.
TBH I don’t really remember it being a huge climax and showdown. Which I think was the smart play. This one definitely focused more on the romance and rightly so. I am a fan of Jaymin Eve’s writing so this isn’t the only series I am reading from her, it is the first one I have finished so far.
House of Royale by Jaymin Eve a five-star read that will have your floating away. This is the forth and I’m hoping not final book in the Secret keeper’s series and its blew me away, I have loved meeting the four secret keepers and their other halves, the laughs the drama the story. Avalon completes the secret keepers and finally finds her place in the world. It just may not be the place she dreamed of, I loved how there was the other side of Daelighter life revealed, the other three all had smooth paths to love, but House of Royale are different to the others and just because she may not get what she desires she will still get family with the girls. This may just be my favourite of the series, as you get bonus chapters and even though they don’t wrap the story up they give us some closure and who doesn’t love that as well as some amazing romance. Thank you Jaymin for a great story and a fantastic series.
Another amazing page turning series! This was a fantastic adventure so many twists and turns! I can't wait to see what she comes up with next! Always a satisfying read! I loved this book!
Superb!🌟 An Emotional Rollercoaster Ride!!🐬🐚💘🔥 (Read using Kindle Unlimited)
I absolutely loved this series and I loved this book especially!👍 Ava was so kind and tender hearted but fierce too, she stood up to Xander perfectly and even better against his cold Mum!!😳 There are some really emotional scenes 😭 You may need tissues 😉
I really hope the Author chooses to revisit these amazing characters in the future. It would be great to see how Xander and Ava handle his Mum & his brother in law 😎👍💥 Especially how all the houses deal with the 8 wanting to join them all together much more closely again, plus if any of them have children now etc
“The others are still out searching for you,” Maya explained as we moved to get off. “You were moving around so much every time we tried to track you using the crystal.”
😂😂😂TRUE
The crystal part was a little extra weird. Apparently when dipped in the blood of the previous keeper, it would track the next one. Daelighters really needed to come up with a better system for hiding their things.”
Xander es un amor aunque sea un idiot pero no puedes evitar amarlo y después sabes porque según el no iba estar con Avalon porque sus papás ya tenían a alguien planeado que se case con el pero era inevitable desde el primer capítulo se nota la atracción.
1-“and at the time I was sure I’d have to choose duty over love. I was prepared to do it as well, because my people mean a lot to me. But then I realized something very important … maybe the moment you swam into the sacred legreto, rainbow hues spreading around your beautiful face. I realized that without you I would not be the sort of leader my people need. You make me care. You make me a better Daelighter. I can’t lead without you.”
2- “You’re going to have to show me how this network works soon,” I joked to Xander. He gave me a wink. “You got it, babe. You have forever to learn about my world. I can’t wait to discover everything with you.” He was perfect. Most of the time, anyway. The arrogant asshole came out on occasion, but to be honest, I loved that side of him almost as much as his sweet side.”
1-”I knew it was Xander; I could feel the energy running between us. It had been there from the first moment in the water together. When he touched me it increased greatly, but I would be stronger than it. I knew now this was just a byproduct of the secret keeper thing. Nothing more. Wearing his clothes was literally the only time I was getting into his pants. End of story.”
“2-Thank you for before,” I said, wanting to express my gratitude. “I really appreciate your help. I’m not sure what would have happened if you weren’t here.” Xander shrugged. You seem like a strong, independent sort of person. I have no doubt you’d have managed it on your own. But … just in case, I’m here if you need me.” If you need me “I really wished he hadn’t said those words, because the mental images that sprang to life had nothing to do with flying and everything to do with sex.”
3 “You taste like home,” he said as our lips parted. His eyes looked troubled, but there was no doubt he was into it. I could feel the evidence of that pressed against my body, and I actually wished we weren’t right in the middle of the street.”
4-“I missed you too,” Xander said, still holding me close. “And I just realized something.” “What’s that?” I said breathlessly. His smile was tender. “I’ve never loved you more than I do right in this moment. My love for you … it grows every single day.” Perfect. He’s perfect. “Do you think it will ever stop growing?” I whispered, pressing closer. “How many years before you reach maximum love?” Xander shook his head, wearing the smallest of smiles. “There is no end point, Avalon. Love has no limit. I for one can’t wait to see what a thousand years of love feels like.”
“This is something the girls have to do alone,” he said. “Our mates are strong and capable. They would not be fit to rule at our sides if they weren’t. We have to trust them.”
Ame la amistad entre las muchachas como siempre es de mis partes favoritas de esta serie de libros
“My heart swelled, and I realized the strength in a group of strong, confident women who weren’t trying to tear each other down. Support and encouragement. They were straightening my crown rather than trying to steal it, because they all wore crowns as well.”
Amo ver a las demás parejas
“Emma and Lexen sat close together. She picked at his food and he just shook his head with a brooding but indulgent expression on his face. Eventually he handed her his entire pasta, and she leaned up to kiss him on the cheek. Callie and Daniel were a little different; they sat close as well, but each ate their own food quickly and without fuss. Maya and Chase were so sweet. She had her legs draped across his and he had an arm wrapped around her. They seemed far more interested in each other than food. Actually, all three couples were far more interested in each other. Food appeared to be a secondary need.”
Y las despedidas de Marsil, estoy triste porque se murió pero tuvo la despedida que se merecía. Marsil estará forever in my heart
“I love you,” I heard Emma say, and I turned enough to see her hugging him. “Thank you for everything. I will never forget you.” “I love you too,” Marsil whispered. “Look after my brother. He needs someone to keep him in line.”
I loved the ending
“This was a perfect day,” I said later that afternoon, all of us sprawled on loungers, soaking up the last rays of the sun. “Except for the fact that I’m going to be redder than a lobster,” Emma said, “I couldn’t agree more.” Rolling over, I reached out to Xander, capturing his hand. “I vote we stay here forever,” I whispered sleepily. “Seconded,” Callie chimed in immediately. “All in favor?” Maya asked. There was not even a second’s pause before a chorus of ayes rang out. We all knew there were too many responsibilities on Overworld for us to stay here forever, but in that moment we were all happy and content. And most importantly, we were together. We were home.”
It was a nice closed ending and totally loved the bonus chapters that every couple got their last chapter:( it was so cutee
Mi pareja favorita forever son Emma y Lexen Cuando le dice baby girl enserio que mas perfectos no pueden ser
1- “Emma legitimately had tears in her eyes when she turned back to her mate. “I love you!” she all but squealed. “Thank you.” Lexen shook his head; he brushed a kiss across her lips. “You should know by now,” he told her in a low voice, “there’s nothing I won’t do for you.”
2-“Exercise is not right,” I spluttered, shaking my head as my wobbly knees almost gave out. “It’s not natural.” I finally lost the fight with my balance, but before I could hit the deck, strong familiar arms swept around my waist and held me up. “I got you, baby girl,” Lexen drawled, laughter in his voice. I glared at him too, but only strong enough for a slight injury. “You still haven’t developed the ability to maim with your eyes,” he said, lips tilting up at the corners. “But I love your persistency.”
3-“ “Are you happy?” he asked me, hitting me from the left with that random question. I swallowed hard, unsure if I should be upset. “Um … why are you asking me that?” I finally said. “Do I seem unhappy?” Lexen shook his head. “No, not at all. But I was reading this book, and they said that you should always check in with those you love. That sometimes … sometimes humans put on a brave face.” My lips twitched and I tried really hard not to smile. Lexen was a tough guy, scary, but there was this spot deep down that was so caring. I almost couldn’t believe some of the things he had done for me”
This story was probably the most convincing of the four. I could totally understand the reluctance of going with what is determined by 'fate'. What I did not like was how quickly the heroine changed her mind after agreeing to a only sexual relationship. Just one night and suddenly her mind has changed and she knows he will break her heart. Seriously? That should have lasted at least a week. Yes, to some extent it was explained by the rush in the storyline but still, it ruined the one thing I really liked about this book.
I was constantly confused about who was who. There were too many characters, which made it somewhat difficult to follow the storyline.
Also, was it just me or did Dawn's problem remained unresolved?
I both loved and was annoyed by this book. It was definitely the best one out of the series and I love HEAs. But I feel like if Rao would have died during Callie’s POV that it would have been much stronger and if Maya and her owl friend had made an appearance together that would be cool. If the Dawn situation hadn’t been skimmed over so nicely. I don’t know. These things annoyed me, but I almost liked the book enough to not care.
Awww...the last Secret Keepers book! I really enjoyed the whole series and I'm glad I took a chance and read it, as I'm not into ( or didnt thibkni was into) the whole alien themed books. I was wrong because I really liked them. Well written and very page turning. Sad it's over but can't wait to read more books from this author.
I’m so sad this series is over!!! I loved it. I adored Avalon!! And Xander! They were exactly what the series needed. The story is the perfect ending.
I do wish that more of the Royale storylines had been explored. The plot with Xander’s sister and all the politics were just nicely tied up in one sentence and that is my only complaint about the series.
Jaymin has such a unique way of capturing you from the start and enveloping you so deeply in her worlds that you never want to leave! A fantastic end to an amazing series.
Wow, those guys have been through alot. The drama was amazing and each adventure was suspenseful. I loved the characters they just added to the awesomeness. Even though this is the end of the series it came together smoothly and I was not disappointed.
Wow, finally it comes to an end. I love the world and the setting of having a soulmate for all the main characters in this series. This is definitely the most emotional one among all books, my eyes waters when I read.
All of the books are on the sappy side with love at first sight being a huge key to the plot. It does work with the plot. otherwise, I would feel that more plot development was needed. It’s definitely a very original story line
